Steve Burns—yes, that Steve from Blue’s Clues—sat down with Rainn Wilson and opened his heart. Depression, rumors, masculinity, and the magic of music and stillness. He’s still finding clues—just different ones now.
Sam Edelston Shreds Black Sabbath’s “Iron Man” on Electric Dulcimers—and It Absolutely Slays
What happens when you give “Iron Man” to a dulcimer wizard? Sam Edelston turns the Black Sabbath classic into a face-melting tribute with strings and soul. Even Tony Iommi would raise a devil horn.
Kyle Hollingsworth Shares Scenic New Single “Colorado” Ahead of Solo Album All We Are, Out August 1
Singer-songwriter, keyboardist, and brewmaster Kyle Hollingsworth is thrilled to share “Colorado,” the second single from his forthcoming solo album All We Are, set for release on August 1, 2025 via SCI Fidelity Records–Pre-save the new project now.
Over four and a half minutes, the track unfolds with the expansiveness of an endless clear blue sky and the rolling, vast Rocky Mountains. With full, rich instrumentation, Hollingsworth takes a moment to appreciate his surroundings on a sunny day, from vibrant green trees to crisp Colorado air to the abundant wildflowers. Reflecting on the inspiration behind the track, Hollingsworth shares: “I spend a lot of time in the high country, so all the images come from above 9,000 feet. From the fall colors to the sparkling snow and spring flowers, these mountains fill my spirit.”
All We Are marks a bold new chapter in a career long defined by creative risk-taking. Across more than 20 years, seven solo albums, and over three decades with The String Cheese Incident, Hollingsworth continues to evolve, delivering a sound that feels both fresh and unexpected.
“Colorado” follows the release of the title track, “All We Are,” a shimmering, alt-rock-leaning single that trades extended solos for song-focused structure and lyrical introspection, yet remains undeniably funky in true Kyle fashion.
Alongside the new album, Hollingsworth has teamed up with 4 Hands Brewing Company (St. Louis, MO) to craft the perfect beer pairing to complement the music. Look for the collaboration beer this fall in the Midwest near Kyle Hollingsworth Band tour dates at select retailers and taps.
In support of the new album, the Kyle Hollingsworth Band will play a number of dates throughout Colorado, the Northeast and the Midwest. Including a fun-filled album release party at Kyle’s iconic beer festival, Kyle’s Brew Fest, hosted at Wibby Brewing Co in Longmont, CO, on September 6. Ethan Tucker Teams with Sean The Shaman for Gritty New Single and Video “Bad Man”
Acclaimed singer-songwriter Ethan Tucker returns to the fray this week with the release of “Bad Man,” a fearless and timely new single and video featuring emcee, spoken-word artist, DJ, and activist Sean The Shaman. Out via High Point Music and Symphonic Distribution today, the soul-rooted track and its accompanying video, filmed on the streets of Seattle, offer a disarmingly honest viewpoint—where violence, injustice, and constant media noise take a toll on our mental state and collective spirit. Listen to the song HERE.
Tucker tapped GRAMMY-winning producer Mario Caldato Jr., known for his work with the Beastie Boys, Jack Johnson, and Manu Chao, and multi-genre guitarist/producer Dru DeCaro, whose accolades include Top 40 artists like Miguel and MGK, to create “Bad Man.” The track was inspired by a dark recurring dream Tucker experienced that reflected the violence that many face in neighborhoods all over the world to this day.
“We’re all dealing with so much—violence on the news, injustice everywhere, and this nonstop wave of media that messes with your head. ‘Bad Man’ is about not losing yourself in all that. It’s about staying grounded even when you want to run.” – Ethan Tucker
The new song delivers a bold statement of the times, laden with bluesy rock grit, reggae rhythm, and conscious lyricism. Tucker’s signature raw vocals set the tone as Sean The Shaman delivers undeniably powerful bars and thought-provoking lyrics that don’t miss: “And though I’m no stranger to the laughter / The pain came first, the laughs after.
“Bad Man” is the second single released by Tucker this year—following the February 2025 release of “Fly Back Home.” Also this year, Netflix’s hit series Ransom Canyon featured his song “High Time” from his debut album Misunderstood in its official soundtrack (Season 1, Episode 3). “Bad Man” sets the stage for Tucker’s forthcoming album, set to be released in early 2026.

13 Artists Who Got Better With Age
Some artists burn bright and fast. Others? They age like a legendary guitar solo — deeper, richer, and somehow cooler with time. Getting older in the music industry isn’t always easy, but these 13 legends thrived. Their voices grew wiser, their lyrics hit harder, and their stage presence? Still electrifying. So here’s to the artists who prove that the encore just might be the best part of the show.
Bruce Springsteen
The Boss went from boardwalk poet to global sage. His recent albums have the soul of a man who’s seen the sunrise through every shade of heartbreak.
Bob Dylan
He won a Nobel Prize for lyrics written in the ’60s, but his later albums like Time Out of Mind and Rough and Rowdy Ways show a weathered poet still pushing boundaries — wiser, rougher, and somehow more mysterious than ever.
Cher
Turned back time, conquered disco, crushed auto-tune, and might outlive us all in platform boots. Cher is forever.
David Bowie
Bowie’s final album Blackstar was a cosmic mic drop. He didn’t fade out; he transcended.
Dolly Parton
Country icon, rock star, philanthropist, literacy queen — Dolly’s 9 to 5 turned into a lifetime of reinvention, rhinestones, and grace.
Joni Mitchell
A stroke tried to silence her, and she came back singing. Literally. Her voice is deeper, her legacy richer, and her spirit? Untouchable.
Johnny Cash
Those final American Recordings stripped everything down to truth and trembling — the Man in Black became the voice of the ages.
Leonard Cohen
His voice dropped to the bottom of the ocean, his lyrics got even sharper, and somehow, his later years were his most poetic.
Madonna
Love her or argue about her — she’s still pushing boundaries, still causing a scene, and still five steps ahead of everyone.
Mick Jagger & Keith Richards
Still strutting, still riffing, and still somehow cooler than everyone in the room. With Hackney Diamonds, Mick and Keith reminded the world that rock and roll doesn’t retire — it just gets louder, looser, and more legendary.
Nick Cave
The former punk preacher became a gothic philosopher. His later work aches with beauty, grief, and spiritual depth.
Paul McCartney
From Beatlemania to symphonic suites, Sir Paul kept evolving. His recent solo work, especially Egypt Station and McCartney III, proves his creative fire burns as brightly as ever — just with more layers and a little more soul.
Paul Simon
From folk troubadour to global rhythm architect, Paul Simon’s writing only grew more intricate, introspective, and inspiring.
Youth might bring the flash, but age brings the fire that lasts. These artists grew bolder, better, and more brilliant than ever. If this list proves anything, it’s that the best verses are often written in the margins of time. Keep going. Greatness might just be your next chorus.
10 Tips for Handling Burnout in the Music Industry
The music industry can be thrilling, but it can also be exhausting. Long nights, constant pressure to produce (social media, all the time. All. The. Time.), the rollercoaster of validation and criticism — it adds up. Burnout isn’t just a buzzword; it’s a very real emotional, mental, and physical drain that’s taken down some of the most beloved names in music. So, on behalf of your mental health and your art, here are 10 practical, psychologist-approved tips — with a little help from someone who’s been backstage, in the studio, and still standing.
Recognize the signs early.
When creativity starts feeling like a chore, your body aches for no reason, or you dread every call — it’s not weakness, it’s burnout. Even Lady Gaga had to stop and reset.
Sleep like your career depends on it — because it does.
You can’t write hits on zero sleep. Even Bruce Springsteen, the hardest-working man in rock, takes breaks to recover and restore.
Redefine success for yourself.
Billie Eilish once said she had to unlearn what success should look like. Followers and charts don’t mean much if you’re miserable inside.
Set boundaries — and keep them.
Just because your phone buzzes at 2 a.m. doesn’t mean you have to answer it. Alanis Morissette is vocal about protecting her peace. You can be, too.
Find someone to talk to — and actually talk.
Whether it’s a friend, a therapist, or a fellow artist, saying it out loud helps. Logic rapped his way through his darkest moments and found light in opening up.
Take tech breaks.
Constant scrolling feeds comparison, not creativity. Zayn left social media to focus on healing. If the screen steals your peace, put it down.
Say no, even to things that look good.
Not every collab, gig, or tour is worth your energy. Sinead O’Connor turned down huge opportunities to prioritize her mental health — and never apologized for it.
Get help if you’re spiraling.
There is no shame in needing help. Demi Lovato said the first step in recovery was admitting she couldn’t do it alone. Neither should you.
Do something you love that isn’t music.
Paint, cook, hike, nap — anything that reminds you who you are outside of your art. Avicii loved quiet nature more than noisy clubs. Listen to what your soul needs.
Grieve when you need to.
Burnout can come from loss, not just overwork. Chester Bennington’s voice carried pain because he felt it deeply. Feel yours. It’s human.
Burnout doesn’t mean you’re broken — it means you’ve been giving too much for too long. Take this as your permission slip to step back, breathe, and take care of yourself the way you’d take care of your bandmate, your collaborator, or your best friend. The music will wait. Your health can’t.
It’s Pandemonium Day! 10 Songs That Celebrate Chaos, Madness, and Musical Mayhem
July 14 is the day we officially celebrate chaos, confusion, and beautiful bedlam. Inspired by Milton’s Paradise Lost (where Pandæmonium is literally Hell’s capital), this day reminds us that disorder can be strangely delightful. So in true Pandemonium Day fashion, let’s crank the volume on 10 songs that fully embrace the wild, the weird, and the wonderfully unhinged:
- “Let’s Go Crazy” – Prince
Because if you’re gonna lose your mind, do it in purple heels with a face-melting guitar solo. - “Crazy in Love” – Beyoncé feat. Jay-Z
Sasha Fierce didn’t walk, she stomped into pop history with this horn-fueled anthem of joyful obsession. - “Basket Case” – Green Day
A punk-pop breakdown anthem that’s been making overthinking sound catchy since 1994. - “She’s in Parties” – Bauhaus
Chaos, meet eyeliner. This gothic fever dream is what Pandemonium would sound like if it wore fishnets. - “Mad World” – Tears for Fears (or Gary Jules’ version if you’re feeling cinematic)
Because sometimes, pandemonium whispers instead of screams. - “Insane in the Brain” – Cypress Hill
Straight-up hip-hop havoc. If your brain feels like it’s doing backflips, this track understands. - “Psycho Killer” – Talking Heads
Qu’est-ce que c’est? A jittery, funky confession from the edge of sanity. - “I Wanna Be Sedated” – Ramones
The ultimate song for when everything’s spinning and you just want 20, 20, 24 hours to yourself. - “Delirious” – Prince (again!)
Yep, Prince gets two songs. When you’re delirious and funky at the same time, it’s only fair. - “Bohemian Rhapsody” – Queen
Six genres, one operatic meltdown, and a headbanging chorus that turns every living room into a mosh pit.
So, on this Pandemonium Day, let the laundry pile up, say yes to spontaneous dance parties, and celebrate the glorious mess of life — with a soundtrack that’s just as unhinged as you are.
