Sam Fender and Olivia Dean Reimagine “Rein Me In” as a Duet

0

Sam Fender is pleased to share a new recording of Rein Me In featuring BRIT Award and Mercury Prize nominated British artist Olivia Dean.

Watch the Rein Me In video featuring footage from Sam’s recent sell-out stadium run in London and Newcastle, shot by Daniel Broadley.

The track, which originally featured on Sam’s number 1 selling third album, People Watching earlier this year, receives a re-working with a new verse and vocals written and sung by Olivia Dean. It’s the first recorded collaboration for Sam since teaming up with Noah Kahan last year for Homesick.

Sam and Olivia performed the track at the London Stadium earlier this month in front of 80,000 fans to a huge reaction with snippets of the performance flooding social media soon after. The pair subsequently performed the track twice more at Newcastle’s St. James’ Park last weekend.

Sam Fender on working with Olivia Dean“If I collaborate with another artist on one of my songs, I prefer they write a new part and make it their own, rather than singing whatever I’ve already written.

“Olivia added a female perspective to Rein Me In, and I think it’s all the better for it. Sharing the stage with her over these last few stadium shows has been a joy. I can’t wait for people to have it.”

Olivia Dean on the collaboration“Rein Me In is my favourite song on Sam’s album, so it was a pleasure to write a new verse from a female perspective. I’ve been a fan of Sam’s for a while now, so I’m so pleased we got to work together on this duet.”

Sam continues his massive 2025 with a big Summer of headline shows and festival performances across the UK and Europe, ahead of an imminent return to the US for a second run of dates, most of which sold out on announcement. The People Watching tour then heads to Australia in November.

Olivia Dean releases her second album, “The Art of Loving” on 26th September via Capitol Records.

After playing to 4,000 people in NYC, The Dare will bring his signature party Freakquencies back to Brooklyn with dates at 3 Dollar BillElsewhere and Public Records. The club nights, which started in a basement bar in Manhattan, have recently seen guest DJs Doss, Danny L Harle, Dylan Brady and Kelly Lee Owens, amongst others.

Yungblud Unleashes His Boldest Vision Yet With ‘Idols’ Album

0

The globally recognised creative force, Yungblud, released his fourth studio album, and most ambitious body of work to date.

Idols’, the first installment of a double album project (with the release date of part two to be announced) marks a coming of age for the 27 year old artist, whose last two albums went to number one in the UK, and whose back catalogue has generated 6 billion global streams.

The 12-track offering was recorded in Leeds with a small team (Yungblud was joined by longtime songwriter and producer partner Matt Schwartz, as well as guitarist Adam Warrington and multi instrumentalist Bob Bradley ) a short distance from the musician’s home city of Doncaster, in an effort to shut out external influences and steer clear of the well-trodden, formulaic approach often found in mainstream studio songwriting and production.

The album’s first release ‘Hello Heaven, Hello’ broke the mould of the traditional single, with the track’s full 9 minutes and six seconds being premiered as Jack Saunders’ Hottest Record on BBC Radio 1 in March.

The Independent called the single “A newfound maturity in songwriting and production [for Yungblud]”.

The raucous ‘Lovesick Lullaby’ followed thereafter, when the musician celebrated its release by turning up to the iconic London pub, the Hawley Arms, to pour drinks for fans from behind the bar.  High praise for the single came from BBC News who described the track as, “Combining Liam Gallagher’s sneer with Beach Boys’ harmonies, it’s uniquely Yungblud.”

Recent single, ‘Zombie’, saw Yungblud’s creative collaboration with Academy Award-nominated Hollywood film star, Florence Pugh, in a heart-wrenching music video, an ode to British healthcare workers (see the music video for ‘Zombie’ HERE). ‘Zombie’, arguably his most profound single to date, showcased a new depth in the musician’s songwriting arsenal.

The album is accompanied by a stunning live performance visional of focus track ‘Ghosts’; a powerful piano ballad, featuring one of the strongest vocal performances of Yungblud’s career. Speaking about the track, Yungblud said, “It’s about comprehending mortality. I wrote it while walking down the banks of the River Thames, thinking how many people had walked the same path and what was going through their heads while they were doing it.

He added, “We’re gone in the blink of an eye, and life is precious and fast. Don’t forget to live it. The Outro of Ghosts was one of my favourite pieces of music that we’ve written on this album. I just let my imagination run. It’s inspired by opera, specifically The King and I. Everyone thought I was crazy when I referenced that in a rock recording session. But f*ck it. That’s Idols!

Tomorrow, Saturday June 21, Yungblud will return for the second year of his curated festival, Bludfest, at the Milton Keynes National Bowl. The eclectic lineup will include global artists Chase Atlantic, blackbear and Denzel Curry, as well as British rising stars, Rachel Chinouriri and Nieve Ella.

Aysanabee Releases Bold New Album ‘Edge of the Earth’ with Video for “Gone Baby Gone”

0

Edge of the EarthAysanabee’s sophomore album, arrives today with a new video for “Gone Baby Gone.” A revealing and absorbing work, Edge of the Earth captures an artist at pivotal moments, where opportunity and sacrifice collide.

Also out today, a new video for “Gone Baby Gone” embodies the emotions that come with the end of a relationship – rage and despair, sorrow and relief. Reactive and dramatic, the video conveys an explosive, frenetic energy that speaks to the whirlwind of changes, choices and consequences present throughout the album.

Previously released songs “Home” and “Without You” reinforce the album’s major theme as they explore points of no return, as an impossible homecoming of the heart and hearth, and in mourning the loss of his grandfather, Watin, for whom Aysanabee’s breakthrough debut was named.

Closing song, “Dreamcatcher,” the first song written for the record, best articulates Aysanabee’s purpose on Edge of the Earth – to answer, for himself, what is the value of art and what is he willing to give up in order to make it? “Oh dreams, don’t catch me sleeping,” he sings. From start to finish, the album finds Aysanabee moving forward, with this ambitious, transitional project carving another fork in the road.

Following festival season, which includes opening for Blue Rodeo at their annual summer highlight at Budweiser Stage, Aysanabee’s first headline tour will pick up across western Canada this fall. Indigenous artists are invited to share the stage with Aysanabee at each stop along the way.

On his sophomore album, Edge of the Earth (June 20, 2025, via Ishkōdé Records), Aysanabee embarks on a transformative journey of will, sacrifice and self-discovery. Following the deeply personal narratives of Watin and the introspective exploration of Here and NowEdge of the Earth expands his sonic horizons, blending his signature fingerstyle guitar with lush, cinematic soundscapes.

The album’s title track, released in January, 2025 ahead of his first headline tour, encapsulates the theme of movement both physical and emotional, leaving behind burdens and embracing an uncharted future. Subsequent singles, “Without You,” a heartfelt tribute to his late grandfather and “The Way We’re Born,” a meditation on identity and resilience, offer a glimpse into the album’s emotional depth and sonic ambition. Newest single “Home,” continues to reveal the project’s sonic template and sense of moving beyond the point of no return.

“Every song on this record offers a window into very transitional moments in my life. Over the last few years I was faced with decisions that often took me inwards and made me question the core of my creativity, ‘What drives me to make art and how much would I be willing to sacrifice for it?’ I mulled over calling the record ‘Reflections”’or ‘Patterns,’ but landed on Edge of the Earth,’because oftentimes these decisions would take me to the edge of an unknown and leave me wondering if I was ready to take a leap of faith. I can’t say I was ready , but I can tell you how it felt, and it is in these songs.”

With swelling melodies, intricate instrumentation, and Aysanabee’s unmistakable voice at its core, Edge of the Earth cements his place as one of the most compelling voices in alternative music today. With Edge of the Earth, Aysanabee steps boldly into a new era—unburdened, limitless, and ready to ascend to greater heights.

KAROL G Unveils Theatrical and Genre-Bending Fifth Album ‘Tropicoqueta’

0

GRAMMY-winning recording artist KAROL G unveils her most intimate, theatrical, and daring project to date, “Tropicoqueta.” A sweeping homage to Latin culture in all its rhythm, resilience, and radiance. Her fifth studio album is not merely one that plays— it performs, it tells stories, it dances, and it dresses itself in the symbols, scars, and splendor of a shared Latin heritage. A place where vallenato leans into reggaetón, bachata finds its voice alongside pop, and cumbia swaps stories with mariachi behind the curtain. Every note is wrapped in a vivid visual world that fuses the tropical with the ancestral, the flamboyant with the divine, the staged with the soul deep. “Tropicoqueta” is available now on all streaming platforms.

After nearly two years of personal and artistic evolution, KAROL G plunges into a world where sensuality is power, nostalgia takes center stage, and the stage itself becomes an altar for all that’s been denied, overlooked, or judged. The album draws inspiration from Latin American vedettes, women who were both beacon and controversy, object and subject, and who, through Karol’s lens, are reborn as icons of freedom, boldness, and unfiltered art.

“This album is a love letter to who we are. To everything we feel, and the infinite universe of things that define us as Latinos. It’s what, to me, would be the perfect playlist. A project where I couldn’t pick a favorite track even if I tried. I love them all, because each one takes you to a completely different world of sensations,” said KAROL G.

In “Tropicoqueta,” KAROL G takes full ownership of the creative journey, from the earliest songwriting sessions to production and final execution. Every song, visual, and performance is crafted to speak of transformation and how a woman can build her own stage, even in the dark. The album features an extraordinary group of collaborators, including Eddy Lover, Feid, Greeicy, Manu Chao, Mariah Angeliq, and Marco Antonio Solís, who help deepen its connection to the roots, essence, and origins of each genre represented. It begins with a cameo by one of her biggest inspirations, Latin pop icon Thalia. From there, it moves through a track produced by the legendary Pharrell Williams that fuses American and Latin culture, an authentic dembow crafted with Dominican producer Leo RD, and contributions from creative partners like Edgar Barrera, Ovy on the Drums, and Tainy. The result is a whimsical tribute that blends just the right touch of nostalgia with KAROL G’s signature sound.

“Tropicoqueta” follows a historic run of global milestones that have solidified KAROL G as a once-in-a-generation force in music and culture. With every release and accolade, KAROL G continues to redefine what it means to be a global superstar, proudly carrying her culture to the world stage and pushing the boundaries of what’s possible for Latin representation in entertainment.

Michaela Jaé Drops Empowering New Single “Two to Tango” Ahead of SF Pride

0

Ahead of her headline performance at San Francisco Pride on June 28th, Michaela Jaé, the Golden Globe-winning and Emmy-nominated actress, singer, and activist just debuted her latest single and music video, “Two to Tango,” a pulsating R&B-pop number that intertwines Michaela Jaé’s impressive vocal performance with an infectious groove that’s both timeless and fresh. Michaela Jaé co-wrote the track with producer Nick Smith (Emei, Jillian Rossi, Zoya). The pair are long-time collaborators and have previously worked together on tracks like “Green Lights” and “All Mine” from her debut album 33.

“When I was writing this song, I realized that even though I’m just one person, it really takes two parts of your mind to rationalize how you move through the world. It felt like the angel on one shoulder and the devil on the other— yin and yang—actually having a conversation, trying to create some kind of balance,” says Michaela Jaé. “Without one, the other can’t exist. It takes two to tango.”

In this hypnotic video, Michaela Jaé explores the sensuality and duality of desire by embodying two strikingly different personas, bringing the emotional tension of the track to life. The video was co-directed by the buzzy Jon Sams (Trixie Mattel, Fenty Beauty) & Michael Ian (Paris Hilton, Nicole Scherzinger).

Michaela Jaé released her highly anticipated debut album 33 in 2024. Over the course of ten genre-hopping songs, Michaela Jaé explores themes of self-discovery and resilience through the eyes of a cloned humanoid woman navigating an alien planet. Each song on 33 represents a different stage in her intergalactic avatar’s journey, from the initial shock of waking up without a memory to ultimately finding acceptance and empowerment in her new reality. Through this fantastical lens, Michaela Jaé uncovers deeper human emotions and experiences, weaving an allegorical tale that parallels her own journey.

A New Jersey native, Michaela Jaé found her passion for music at a very young age, through performing arts programs in Newark and New York City. She later attended Berklee College of Music where she majored in songwriting and minored in performance.

Michaela Jaé is the first trans woman to receive a Primetime Emmy Award nomination for her role as ‘Blanca’ on FX’s “Pose,” which also won her the Golden Globe for Best Actress in 2022. In 2023, Michaela Jaé was selected as the first trans ambassador for the prestigious beauty brand Charlotte Tilbury. She will next be seen on Season 3 of Apple’s comedy series “Loot,” where she stars opposite Maya Rudolph. In addition, Michaela Jaé starred on the latest season of FX’s “American Horror Story,” titled “Delicate.”

Cardi B Unleashes New Single “Outside” Following Cannes Debut and Instagram Frenzy

0

GRAMMY Award-winning, Diamond-selling superstar Cardi B is back with her highly anticipated track “Outside,” available everywhere now. The highly anticipated release is already building massive buzz online — her announcement post has earned 410k+ likes, 12K+ comments, and 39k+ shares since Tuesday, with her more than 163M Instagram followers, with momentum continuing to build.

The fiery new anthem comes after Cardi’s appearance at the Cannes Spotify Beach Party on Wednesday, June 18th where she debuted “Outside” for the very first time. Furthermore, Cardi will be performing this Summer at LadyLand Festival in Brooklyn, NY, on June 27th.

Enough (Miami),” released in March 2024, was a blazing track and the perfect record to kick off the spring break season. “Enough (Miami)” was accompanied by a high-octane companion visual (directed by: Patience Harding) following Cardi’s previous release, “Like What (Freestyle).” Both records served as the follow-up to a groundbreaking collaboration with Megan Thee Stallion, “Bongos.” Prior to “Bongos,” the pair released the historic and viral sensation, “WAP.” In 2020, this hit song (Feat. Megan Thee Stallion)” affirmed Cardi B as one of Apple Music’s most popular artists of all time, earning the platform’s highest-ever debut by a female artist as well as the fastest song in Apple Music history by a female artist to peak at #1. It also went #1 on the Billboard Hot 100, peaked at #1 on rhythmic radio, and rose to #2 on urban radio. “WAP” also won Favorite Song – Rap / Hip-Hop at the American Music Awards and won Best Collaboration and Video of the Year at the BET Awards. It was also nominated for Collaboration of the Year at the American Music Awards, nominated for five categories at the MTV Video Music Awards, and nominated for Best Music Video at the iHeart Music Awards. The visual has now reached over 550M views and the audio now has over 3.7B streams.

Cardi B is among the most significant musical artists of all time, regardless of genre, gender, or generation—all accomplished in less than a decade. Among her seemingly unstoppable list of accomplishments, she stands as the highest-certified female rapper on the RIAA’s “Top Artists (Digital Singles)” ranking with over 100 million RIAA-certified units sold, with 3 diamond certifications. Her chart-topping, GRAMMY Award-winning, 4x RIAA platinum-certified debut album, Invasion of Privacy, continues to be a landmark achievement in female rap streaming history. All 13 tracks on Invasion of Privacy are now certified at least Platinum, and the smash 2018 album also includes the history-making Diamond-certified “Bodak Yellow.” Her extensive list of awards, nominations, and high-profile honors currently includes 10 GRAMMY nominations and one win for Best Rap Album for her debut album Invasion of Privacy, eight Billboard Music Awards, six Guinness World Records, four Spotify One Billion Streams Awards, two ASCAP Songwriter of the Year Awards, eight ASCAP Pop Music Awards, 23 ASCAP Rhythm & Soul Music Awards, six American Music Awards, four MTV Video Music Awards, three iHeartRadio Titanium Awards, six BET Awards, 14 BET Hip Hop Awards, inclusion on TIME’s “TIME100: The 100 Most Influential People of 2018,” being named Entertainment Weekly’s 2018 “Entertainer of the Year” and Billboard’s 2020 “Woman of the Year,” along with countless other triumphs. Last year, she was named as iconic lifestyle brand Playboy’s first-ever Creative Director in Residence and founding member of Playboy’s creator-led platform. Since then, Cardi B has been on countless features, including a Platinum-certified single, “Put It On The Floor Again” with Latto.

Anne Murray Celebrates 80th Birthday With Vault Album ‘Here You Are,’ Out Sept. 5

0

Today, in celebration of her 80th birthday, Anne Murray announces Here You Are, her 33rd studio album arriving September 5, 2025. Alongside the news, she shares the previously unreleased single, “Rest Easy (In My Love)”. The album, available now for pre-order via Universal Music Canada, the country’s leading music company, features 11 never-before-heard songs recorded between 1978 and 1995, showcasing Murray at her vocal peak.

Executive produced by Grammy and JUNO Award-winner, Bob Rock (Bon Jovi, Michael Bublé) and mixed by Adam Greenholtz (Disney & Marvel Films, LeAnn Rimes, The Offspring), Here You Are expertly revitalizes a collection of rare studio recordings, masterfully updated for release.

“Imagine my surprise and delight,” Murray shares, “when a young fan, who first saw me perform in Las Vegas, years ago, when he was 15, told me that he had discovered several songs that had never been released… songs that didn’t make the cut between the years 1978 and 1995. Here are a few of them.”

Drawn from the vault and recorded during the height of her career, Here You Are, a collection of hidden gems that, until now, remained untouched. These rediscovered songs from the archives, expands Murray’s timeless catalogue, giving fans music that bridges the past and present.

Location: Dale Murray Studio // L-R: Dale Murray, Anne Murray, Dawn Langstroth

“Rest Easy (In My Love)” was recorded in Spring of 1989 and now the album’s lead single. Originally considered for Greatest Hits Volume II, it finds its moment more than three decades later. The title track and early favourite of Murray’s, “Here You Are”, penned by acclaimed songwriter Hugh Prestwood (“Feed This Fire”, “The Song Remembers When”), was once in the running for Murray’s 1996 self-titled album.

Another standout, “Bring All Your Heartaches to Me”, originally recorded for A Little Good News, features Murray’s daughter Dawn Langstroth on background vocals and a striking guitar solo by her nephew, Dale Murray. “Straight From the Heart” initially recorded for 1984’s Heart Over Mind, covers the Bryan Adams classic with new background vocals by Anne and her daughter Dawn, and a fresh pedal steel solo by her nephew Dale.“Heaven In My Heart” was first recorded by Murray’s brother Bruce Murray for his 1984 Capitol Records release, and now comes full circle with Murray’s own voice. “Feels Like More Than Dancing”, co-written by Patti Dahlstrom and Kerry Chater (the latter who contributed to several of Murray’s albums), was also recorded by Captain & Tennille. “I Lost My Dog” is perhaps the album’s most unique cut—a heartfelt song given to Murray by her Las Vegas orchestra leader, Al Gambino.  “How About Goodbye” written by Nashville Songwriters Hall of Famer Thom Schuyler (Kenny Rogers, John Conlee), also worked for the music publishing arm of Murray’s publishing company. “Maybe” a ballad written by Robbie MacNeill, the two toured in the early days as a duo and the song was recorded at the same time as Somebody’s Waiting.

The reflective “Gone” revives the Ferlin Husky classic, a No. 1 country hit in 1957 and a hit again by Joey Heatherton, then Ronnie McDowell, the song saw new life in the hands of Murray during her late-80s recording sessions, initially meant for Greatest Hits Volume II. Finally, “Catch My Breath” written by Alan O’Day (“Angie Baby,” “Undercover Angel”), closes the album with poignant elegance—another buried treasure from one of Canada’s most enduring voices.

Here You Are will be available to stream and download, as well as on CD and a variety of vinyl options, including 180gram black vinyl edition with OBI-Strip, and limited edition formats including a limited edition 180gram Vinyl Edition housed in a slipcase with a signed lithograph available exclusively on the Universal Music artist store.
