How To Make Math Interactive?

0

By Mitch Rice

Many children initially find mathematics difficult or even frightening. They might have trouble focusing on the numbers and symbols. To make learning interesting and fun, some parents use art forms similar to how creators have taught other sciences through music.

The best educators opt for the most interactive form of learning, which is through games and activities that students may do at home. This interactive math education system doesn’t replace parents’ efforts. Instead, it gives parents extra tools to support their kids’ learning while keeping them happy and involved.

What is Interactive Learning?

With interactive learning, rather than only listening to teachings, students engage fully in them. They can explain concepts using games, riddles, digital math worksheets, or videos. These students get to interact and apply what they have learned to actual real-life problems rather than just memorizing formulas.

For instance, a teacher may have students construct shapes to learn geometry or teach addition through fun interactive math games. Children learn math more effectively and retain it longer when using this method. They don’t simply observe; they learn by doing.

Students are also encouraged to think carefully, work with others, and ask questions via interactive learning.

How Brighterly Makes Math Truly Engaging?

For many kids, math can be complex, mostly if class tutors don’t offer enough help. Here are ways Brighterly interactive math lessons make the entire process fun and easy:

Engaging 1:1 lessons with expert math tutors

With Brighterly, you can rest assured that your kids will get personalized learning; these tutors work closely with students, finding areas for improvement. This learning approach enhances children’s confidence since they get prompt help when necessary. Additionally, educators adopt various techniques to make math more exciting and enjoyable.

With Brighterly, your kids will learn critical problem-solving skills. Tutors ensure that kids understand the techniques that kids can use daily, not just in school.

Interactive curriculum tailored to each child

Brighterly uses a special way of teaching called interactive learning. With this learning approach, kids do not just listen but participate in activities, which matches their needs. For instance, they provide pictures if a kid learns better by viewing photos.

If they like to try problems step-by-step, the lessons adjust to that by giving them interactive math homework. This flexible learning lets kids study anytime, anywhere, even at home or while traveling.

Fun games, visual tools, and home practice resources

Using entertaining games, colorful designs, interactive math worksheets, and simple at-home activities, Brighterly encourages children to love math. These resources transform math education from tedious tasks into thrilling activities. Children improve their ability to concentrate when they play math games.

For instance, a game may require players to work through problems gradually, which prolongs their attention span. They will do better in school and other activities with this concentration skill. Playing math games also helps children remember what they learn.

Just like how kids remember the lyrics to their favourite artists’ songs and the rules of their favorite board games, Brighterly’s math games help them keep math facts in their memory longer. The games give their brains a workout, making it easier to recall numbers and formulas later on.

Why You Should Make Math Interactive

When children are involved and having fun, they’re more likely to stay focused and confident in their abilities. Hence, interactive learning makes math feel less like a chore and more like a challenge they can enjoy. Here are reasons why you should make math interactive:

Gamification for motivation

Making math interactive means using games and fun activities to help kids learn. This approach is called gamification, and it works really well, especially for math. When kids play math games, their brains stay active, and they enjoy learning more. Instead of just listening or writing answers, they solve problems like puzzles, complete levels, and even earn points. It feels like playing, but it’s also teaching them important skills.

For example, using a math app that gives stars for correct answers can make a child want to keep going. Or they might play a multiplication game that lets them beat their high score. These online interactive math games train the brain to think faster and remember better. Some even boost physical activity, like dancing games that use numbers to move along. Kids who normally don’t like homework may suddenly want to “level up” in math.

Gamification also benefits children who learn in various ways. Even children with learning disabilities, such as autism, have made significant improvements when utilizing video games that teach school concepts in a straightforward, hands-on manner. That is why Brighterly incorporates interactive elements such as games, stories, and activities into their online math classes.

Brighterly’s pleasant, qualified tutors know how to make arithmetic entertaining for youngsters, allowing them to remain engaged and confident. Brighterly’s method keeps youngsters interested at all stages, whether they’re completing puzzles, earning stars, or playing arithmetic bingo.

Personalisation

Every child is different. That’s why personalized learning is very important. It means the interactive math teaching ideas are made just for your child’s needs, strengths, and interests. Brighterly’s online math tutors use this idea to make sure lessons fit your child perfectly. Instead of giving the same lesson to all kids, Brighterly finds the best way to teach your child. First, these tutors give diagnostics and pre-assessment tests to kids so they can gauge their level of understanding.

Personalized learning helps children remain focused because they work on themes that are relevant to them. When arithmetic seems relevant and entertaining, children are more likely to learn. For example, if your youngster enjoys space, their tutor may use space-themed math problems to illustrate ideas. In this manner, learning is enjoyable and purposeful.

With tailored instruction, your kid may progress at their speed. If they rapidly grasp a subject, they may go on to study new information. If they encounter a difficult situation, they may take their time and not feel left behind. Brighterly instructors provide the appropriate level of assistance so that your kid feels confident and prepared to progress.

Leverage technology for enhanced learning

Every day, technology changes the way children learn math. With interactive tools for math education, learning becomes more fun and tailored to each child’s requirements. For instance, Brighterly matches each child with a tutor who can teach math in a way that the pupils can easily understand using technology.

Technology allows kids to study at their own pace. So, children may practice math at any time and from any location.

This is ideal for busy families or youngsters who like to study in short spurts. Technology enables children to collaborate via video chats or shared online projects, teaching them social skills as they study arithmetic. It also prepares youngsters for a future when digital skills are essential.

New Found Glory Signs to Pure Noise Records, Drops Uplifting New Single “100%”

0

New Found Glory is thrilled to announce that they have signed to Pure Noise Records, joining the label’s already illustrious roster including Knocked Loose, State Champs, Less Than Jake, The Story So Far, Senses Fail, and more.

To celebrate the band is sharing their brand new single “100%”, a song that captures New Found Glory’s timeless pop punk sound, relentless energy, and unwavering determination. The song can be streamed now, and purchased as an exclusive 7″ – available in Neon Yellow (400), Half Neon Yellow / Half Neon Pink w/Black Splatter (400) and Clear w/Neon Pink and Neon Yellow Splatter (400) – here.

On the new single, the band shares: “No matter what, life is gonna hit you with unexpected tough times. It’s unavoidable. Sometimes we are lucky to prepare for them and other times they come out of nowhere. In those moments we can choose to face them head on and rise to the challenge. Find ways to grow from them, share your struggles with others to help them grow. Or there’s the opposite and what I’d advise against which is feeling like a victim, blaming the world, and just being stuck.”

“This song 100% is meant to inspire fans and people going through hard times,” they continue. “Giving 100% of yourself whatever that is. For NFG, our outlet has always been music. It’s our positive escape. For instance, the lyric in the song ‘These songs aren’t for awards it’s how we take a breath’ I think is a sentiment that has always resonated with our fans and built our connection. Very excited for this song and the guitar riffs too! A strong suit and characteristic of New Found Glory that’s fun to be back as a centerpiece.”

Fans around the world can look forward to seeing New Found Glory live this year. The band will be performing throughout the UK and Europe at Slam Dunk Music Festival before hitting the road in North America with The Offspring and Jimmy Eat World on the “SUPERCHARGED: Worldwide in ’25” tour. They’ll return to the UK this fall for a series of headline shows featuring Real Friends and Koyo.

GOTTHARD Drop Video for Fan-Favorite “Burning Bridges” from Chart-Topping Stereo Crush

0

Looking back on a more than 30-year long career, GOTTHARD still remain relevant: TV appearances at “Sing meinen Song – Das Schweizer Tauschkonzert,” all-embracing media presence around the globe, and especially their chart-storming new album Stereo Crush keep the band in the talks.

After fans received the three previously released singles “Boom Boom,” “Thunder & Lightning” and “Rusty Rose” with open arms, there seems to be yet another track on the album which has entered their hearts right away. Closing in on the mentioned tracks, most notably on streaming platforms, is “Burning Bridges,” and that’s why GOTTHARD are even more pleased to present a music video for this evident new fan favourite today.

Vocalist Nic Maeder, who also wrote the song, comments: “This track is about the thrill of non-conformity and the moment you walk away from what’s expected of you: because freedom tastes better than approval. Don’t play it safe, move on and burn the bridge to a new world after crossing it. ‘Burning Bridges’ is dedicated to all those who don’t fit in – and don’t want to!”

5 Surprising Facts About The Kinks’ ‘The Kinks Are the Village Green Preservation Society’

0

Before The Village Green Preservation Society, the Kinks were pop hitmakers. After it? Cult heroes. Released in November 1968—the same day as the Beatles’ White Album—this oddball, orchestral album about tea, nostalgia, and flying cats didn’t chart. But oh, how it grew. With its delicate English charm and obsession with memory, Village Green is now hailed as one of the greatest British albums ever made. Ray Davies imagined a world where steam trains still puffed and people still said “cheerio,” and somehow made it sound cool.

Here are five delightful and little-known facts about this eccentric gem:

1. A radio drama about quirky villagers inspired the whole thing
Ray Davies found his muse in Dylan Thomas’s 1954 radio play Under Milk Wood, which followed the eccentric residents of a Welsh village over one day. The idea of weaving character sketches into one big portrait of a town stuck with him. Instead of villagers like Polly Garter and Captain Cat, Ray gave us Johnny Thunder and Wicked Annabella. Think of Village Green as an audio postcard from a place where nothing changes—except the memories.

2. Nicky Hopkins played nearly every keyboard—but got no credit
Pianist extraordinaire Nicky Hopkins was the secret sauce of the Kinks’ late ’60s sound, contributing everything from Mellotron flutes to harpsichord trills. On Village Green, he plays a staggering array of instruments, adding baroque elegance to songs like “Village Green” and “Phenomenal Cat.” But in true Kinks fashion, the official credits gave all the keyboard glory to Ray Davies. Hopkins later joked he played 70% of it—quietly brilliant as always.

3. “Phenomenal Cat” is a psychedelic bedtime story about a flying cat
Ever wanted to know the meaning of life… from a cat? “Phenomenal Cat” tells the tale of a feline who flies to Katmandu, finds enlightenment, and decides to chill and eat forever. Dave Davies voices the cat with a sped-up vocal, giving it a surreal, dreamy quality. Add in Mellotron flutes and nursery-rhyme whimsy, and you get one of the most quietly trippy songs of the ’60s.

4. Ray wrote “Big Sky” from a hotel balcony in Cannes
While attending the MIDEM music industry conference in France, Ray stood on a balcony at sunrise, looked down at a sea of businessmen, and looked up at the sky. Thus was born “Big Sky,” a song about a silent, towering force that watches people struggle and shrugs. It’s been interpreted as a song about God, capitalism, or just weather. Either way, it’s the most philosophical moment ever born from jet lag and a view.

5. It was released the same day as the Beatles’ White Album—and got flattened
November 22, 1968: The Village Green Preservation Society hit the shelves… just as the Beatles dropped their 30-track monster of an album. Guess which one dominated headlines? With no hit single and little promo, the Kinks’ quiet masterpiece got lost in the shuffle. But over time, it became their best-selling UK album—and earned its place as a national treasure in vinyl form.

The Kinks Are the Village Green Preservation Society wasn’t made to storm the charts—it was made to preserve the past, one barbershop harmony at a time. And somehow, it ended up preserving the band’s legacy too.

Tom Odell Announces New Album ‘A Wonderful Life’ and Expands Global Tour

0

Global star and award-winning singer-songwriter Tom Odell sets his new album, A Wonderful Life, for September 5—pre-save HERE. He also today shares a new song from the album, “Don’t Cry, Put Your Head On My Shoulder”—listen HERE.

Odell spent nine months fine-tuning lyrics for the album, on tour buses and trains, away from the stable home life he’d created. “I labored over every line,” says Odell. “I went in on those words every day, just refining and refining and refining. I can be a bit obsessive, and the obsessive part of me is probably the worst part of me and the bit that I would pay so much money for a therapist to tell me how to lose. But it’s also the bit that does not give up on songs.”

He will share songs from the album with fans on his headline European arena tour this fall. Dates include stops at London’s O2 Arena, Paris’ Accor Arena, Amsterdam’s Ziggo Dome, Berlin’s Uber Arena and more. Odell is currently on the road with Billie Eilish for select European arena dates of the sold-out Hit Me Hard and Soft Tour and will support The Lumineers this summer for select U.S. arena dates of the Automatic World Tour. Ahead of his headline arena dates, Odell will also embark on a special run of intimate shows across the U.S. and Canada. These club performances provide fans a unique chance to see him in the smallest rooms he’s played in years. Purchase tickets at tomodell.com and see below for a complete list of dates.

A Wonderful Life was written partly as a reaction to the news cycle and “the sense, almost every week, that the world is ending in some capacity—which it is, for some people.” Odell’s lyrics channel the despair, frustration and helplessness in the modern world.

He recorded A Wonderful Life in Church Studios, HOXA and RAK Studios’ legendary Room One, the space that birthed classic albums from Radiohead, The Pogues, Ultravox and more. Odell and his band recorded everything live with the instruments “bleeding in on one another” for a more authentic sound.

His emotionally charged songs detailing love, heartbreak and self-reflection continue to receive critical acclaim, winning the prestigious BRIT and Ivor Novello Awards and garnering praise from The Guardian, The Telegraph, Rolling Stone, The Evening Standard, The Observer, among others.

Tom Odell is a renowned British singer and songwriter whose love for music can be traced back to grade school, pivoting from songwriter to singer in his band when they couldn’t hold down a frontman. After studying music in college, he embarked on a decade-long career in which his soul-baring projects have topped charts and won accolades worldwide.

Though Odell first came to prominence as a chart-topping artist, it’s never been mainstream success that fuels him. “I never applied to the role of pop star, and I always felt like I was being perceived in the wrong way,” he reflects. As he’s committed further to his own vision—crafting intensely personal songs dealing with mental health struggles, body image issues and beyond—he’s seen the connections spread across the globe. “It alleviates some of the loneliness of existing,” he suggests of why his music has resonated so strongly, “which is what we’re all going through, together.”

Odell has amassed a rabid following, with multiple headline world tours, 31 million monthly listeners on Spotify and over 14 billion career streams. His sixth album Black Friday reached number five on Spotify’s Top Album Debut Global Chart and the haunting title track has earned over 700 million combined streams since its late-2023 release. Fans also re-discovered his first ever single, 2012’s “Another Love,” which has become an anthem on TikTok to show solidarity with the people of Ukraine and soared to over four billion plays on Spotify alone. With more imminent from Odell, he continues to push boundaries and unite people through his art.

Brent Cobb & The Fixin’s Release Ain’t Rocked in a While, Announce U.S. Tour Including Nashville Pop-Up and Fall Headline Dates

0

Grammy-nominated singer, songwriter and musician Brent Cobb and his band The Fixin’s release their anticipated new album, Ain’t Rocked in a While, today via Ol’ Buddy Records/Thirty Tigers. Steam/purchase HERE.

Produced by Cobb and Oran ThorntonAin’t Rocked in a While captures the electric energy of Cobb’s live shows, while still keeping his signature storytelling at the forefront. Recorded live to tape at The Black Palace in Springfield, MO, the album finds Cobb returning to his roots, as he blends his timeless country sound with influences from classic rock. Alongside today’s release, a new lyric video for “Bad Feelin’” is also out now—watch HERE.

In celebration of the new album, Cobb & The Fixin’s will perform a special pop-up album release show at Nashville’s The Blue Room on July 15 in addition to an extensive headline tour through this fall. Upcoming stops include New York’s Bowery Ballroom, Los Angeles’ Troubadour, Chicago’s Joe’s on Weed St., Washington, D.C.’s The Hamilton, Tucson’s Club Congress and Portland’s Aladdin Theater, among many others. See below for complete itinerary. Full details can be found at www.brentcobbmusic.com/tour.

Reflecting on the project, Cobb shares, “I feel like sometimes when people come to our shows, there might be a disconnect. People might view me as just a singer-songwriter. You know, sit down and tell ‘em a nice, little Southern story. Sing ‘em a song. And our live show kinda rocks. Sometimes people are taken aback. I want people to have an album of reference.”

In addition to Cobb (vocals, guitar), The Fixin’s are Len Clark (drums), Matt McDaniel (guitars) and Josh Williams (bass).

Based in Ellaville, GA, Cobb has released five albums to date including 2023’s acclaimed record, Southern Star—a love-letter to his southern roots, filled with the sounds and stories of his home state of Georgia. Of the record, Rolling Stone declared, “Few artists embody the South quite like Brent Cobb…he summons the easygoing vibes and sounds of his native Georgia,” while No Depression praised, “A true songwriting craftsman with a disarming drawl and plainspoken lyricism, Cobb’s music often feels like it exudes a sense of authenticity and tradition.”

In addition to his work as an artist, Cobb is an esteemed songwriter with cuts by Luke Combs, Keith Urban, Kenny Chesney, Miranda Lambert, Riley Green, Little Big Town, Hailey Whitters, Whiskey Myers and many more. Additionally, his song, “Snakebite,” was featured in the first season of Paramount’s “Landman” this past fall, and he released his first children’s book, Little Stuff, in 2021, which was written as a reflection on what’s truly important in life and was inspired by Cobb’s song of the same name from his album, Keep ‘Em On They Toes.

Stereophonics Announce Fall U.S. Tour Dates, New Album ‘Make ’em Laugh, Make ’em Cry, Make ’em Wait’ Out Now

0

Following their largely sold-out North American run earlier this year, legendary U.K. band Stereophonics will return to the U.S. for additional headline dates this Fall.

The shows kick off on September 20 in Nashville, with stops in Austin, Dallas, San Diego, plus performances at Shaky Knees Festival in Atlanta and Ohana Festival in Dana Point.

Their new album, Make ‘em Laugh, Make ‘em Cry, Make ‘em Wait, was just released via EMI to extensive critical praise. Listen HERE.

Leading up to the album’s release, the band shared “Seems Like You Don’t Know Me” and “There’s Always Gonna Be Something” from the LP.

Written and recorded in London, Make ‘em Laugh, Make ‘em Cry, Make ‘em Wait marks the band’s highly anticipated return with an eight record LP. As with previous album artwork, Kelly Jones has gravitated towards different art forms to influence the project’s aesthetic, whether that be paintings, books or films.

“I went to New York, I visited some galleries, I saw ‘ART IS A GUARANTY OF SANITY’, a painting by Louise Bourgeois,” says Jones, “She believed art was a form of mental healing and a way to process difficult emotions. The spelling caught me first, then the simplicity of the words etched onto a pink tile. So I tried scratching my title, inspired by my own art school teacher thirty years ago. And I loved it. I loved the simplicity of the pink. The pink album was born.”

Stereophonics has cemented their position as one of our most enduring and loved bands with 1.5B+ in worldwide streams, 10M+ in U.K. album sales, eight #1 albums, 12 “Top 10 albums” and 10 “Top 10 Singles”. They have earned their status and respect amongst their fans, peers and artists from across the musical generations, ranging from Bob Dylan to David Bowie to Dua Lipa. Their knack for blending rock sensibilities with soaring melodies keeps their sound vital, while Kelly Jones’ ever-introspective lyrics continue to resonate with each passing year.
