Warkings Unleash Gothic Power Metal Epic ‘Hangman’s Night’ Featuring Dr. Dead of Dominum

0

Power metal warriors Warkings descend into the shadows with their final anthem from their upcoming album, Armageddon, out this Friday via Napalm Records! The haunting new track, “Hangman’s Night”, features Dr. Dead of rising horror metal act Dominum and marks a dramatic turn into the shadows.

“Hangman’s Night” tells the haunting tale of once-mighty Templar knights, betrayed and condemned as heretics. Beneath the glow of a blood-red moon, the unit awaits the gallows-not with fear, but with unyielding brotherhood and grim resolve. Underlined by sharp guitar riffs cut through thunderous drums, relentless rhythms, and empowering gothic flair, the song drags listeners into the final stand of the fallen-will they fight for glory, or embrace the noose?

Make sure not to miss Warkings bringing their epic new music to European stages during the 2026 co-headline Pirates & Kings tour with label mates Visions of Atlantis! The band is currently storming through Europe on their ongoing tour, which includes a very special release show in Aschaffenburg, Germany on July 5 with Hammer King!

Check out the official music video for “Hangman´s Night” and prepare for the doom bell – your final hour has come! The Crusader comments: “Betrayed, outnumbered, but never broken – the Templars stood until the end.”

A Day To Remember Drop Wild “All My Friends” Video, Announce Fall Tour With Yellowcard

0

Following the runaway success of their surprise physical-first album, Big Ole Album Vol. 1, A Day To Remember are back with a brand new music video for their current, top 20 radio single “All My Friends”.

Perfectly encapsulating the energy of the song, the new clip is an unfiltered, shot-shooting celebration of chaos and camaraderie featuring WWE superstar Seth Rollins and his flame thrower. Sound crazy? It is.

Earlier this year, the band surprised fans with the spontaneous drop of Big Ole Album Vol. 1 – the first part of an ambitious double album effort. Opting to go unconventional with the rollout, rather than deliver the digital release first with the physical version to follow, fans were able order the album first and get it within a week – with the digital version landing later.

The move made the band’s arrival at Knotfest Australia especially raucous, with fans clamoring to experience the new music live.

Among the personnel at the helm of the project, A Day to Remember linked with Drew Fulk (Knocked Loose, Lil Wayne), Zakk Cervini (Bring Me The Horizon, Blink-182) and their own Jeremy McKinnon to oversee the completion of the album. Among the contributors featured on the record, ADTR enlisted Linkin Park drummer Colin Brittain, Cody Quistad of Wage War and multi-talent Will Putney of Fit For An Autopsy and Better Lovers for submissions on the final product.

Trekking in support of the new album, A Day to Remember is set to begin a massive North American fall trek – the Maximum Fun Tour. Co-billed with pop punk fixtures Yellowcard, the Maximum Fun tour touts an impressively diverse supporting roster with State Champs, The Wonder Years, Boundaries and Dinosaur Pile-Up all slated to take on select dates of the amphitheater/arena-sized run.

Tickets for the Maximum Fun Tour are currently available. A current list of dates and cities can be found below. Get tickets – HERE.

Shoegaze Icons The Jesus And Mary Chain Celebrate ‘Psychocandy’ With Third Man Records Box Set

0

Third Man Records is proud to announce the 65th installment in their long-running quarterly vinyl subscription service The Vault, The Jesus and Mary Chain – Psychocandy 40th Anniversary Edition. Included in this set is a 2xLP version of Psychocandy cut at 45rpm, a live recording from St. Andrew’s Hall in Detroit from 1987, and a metallic gold 7″ featuring “Jesus F***” b/w an early (and previously unreleased) demo of “Just Like Honey.” Sign up is open now through July 31 at midnight CST here.

1985: As the last detached murmurs of post-punk slowly crest into the earliest whispers of shoegaze, standing there in a world all their own, cutting a profile both unique and incomparable is The Jesus and Mary Chain. With equal influence gleaned from The Stooges and The Shangri-Las, The Velvet Underground and The Beach Boys, the band releases the unassailable godhead album, Psychocandy.

In celebration of this recording, one of the most important and watershed albums of all time, Third Man Records is humbled to announce Psychocandy: 40th Anniversary Edition as the 65th release of their Vault quarterly subscription series.

Anchoring this set is a 2xLP version of Psychocandy cut at 45rpm. It is not hyperbole to say this might be the loudest cut…not only of this record, but of any record…you will ever hear. The high speed treatment here affords the sonics a heretofore unseen clarity in the band’s utilization of controlled feedback. And such dynamic range! A record better-suited for this treatment you will struggle to find. Crank it loud and it just does not break up. Distortion has never sounded so clear. Cut by Warren Defever at Third Man Mastering using super high definition 192khz transfers of the original 1985 mix and featuring the classic JAMC line-up of Jim Reid, William Reid, Douglas Hart and Bobby Gillespie.

Additionally, unearthed specifically for the anniversary is a crystalline live recording from St. Andrew’s Hall in Detroit from 1987. Perfectly balanced with songs from Psychocandy and its equally as beautiful follow-up Darklands, two takes here (“Taste of Cindy” and “April Skies”) appeared as non-album b-sides in 1988, but the rest of the songs on this 2xLP swath are all previously unheard and absolutely mind-blowing in all the best of ways. Mixed back in the day by William Reid and Brian Young, from multitrack soundboard recordings.

The original album is packaged in a sumptuous two pocket, gatefold jacket housed in a slipcase and pressed on 180-gram psychocandy colored vinyl with the live discs on darkest black 180-gram vinyl and living in a classic double-wide spine single-pocket jacket.

And the metaphorical cherry on top, the pairing of the the absolutely savage improvisational fan favorite “Jesus F***” with the wildly early (and previously unreleased) demo of “Just Like Honey.” These two songs, better than any, highlight the brilliant musical chiaroscuro of the Jesus and Mary Chain, the perfect tenuous blend of light and dark, unparalleled hypnotic pop melody and bombastic overdriven feedback noise. Pressed on metallic gold vinyl, this 7-inch quintessentially captures the contrasting beauty of what makes this band so groundbreaking.

Sign up now through midnight central time July 31st only at www.thirdmanrecords.com/vault.

10 Songs for World UFO Day That Are Totally Out of This World

0

Today is World UFO Day, and if you think that just means little green men and shiny saucers, think again. Music has always been obsessed with what’s out there—across the stars, inside the unknown, and hovering just above the cornfields. Whether it’s aliens, abductions, or spacey vibes, these 10 songs are the perfect soundtrack for scanning the skies and wondering what’s real.

“Calling Occupants of Interplanetary Craft” – Klaatu
This Canadian cult favorite imagined a musical message to extraterrestrials—and actually inspired the real-life World Contact Day. Covered famously by The Carpenters, but Klaatu’s original is eerie, heartfelt, and full of cosmic curiosity.

“Come Sail Away” – Styx
It starts as a ballad about dreams and oceans—and ends with a spaceship taking you away. Styx slipped a whole alien abduction into one of the most beloved soft rock anthems of all time.

“Life on Mars?” – David Bowie
Bowie’s surreal masterpiece is less about space and more about Earth’s absurdity, but the question mark in the title says it all. It’s theatrical, strange, and timeless—like the best alien stories.

“Mr. Spaceman” – The Byrds
This jangly ‘60s tune is basically a friendly request to aliens: stop by Earth for a visit. It’s short, sweet, and totally sincere, capturing the wonder of a UFO sighting at dawn.

“Major Tom (Coming Home)” – Peter Schilling
A sequel to Bowie’s iconic astronaut, this ‘80s synth-pop hit follows Major Tom as he floats further into space—and possibly into alien contact. Melancholic, soaring, and strangely comforting, it’s the sound of someone never quite coming back.

“Planet Claire” – The B-52’s
Armed with retro sci-fi effects and a pulsing surf-rock beat, this track is a campy, chaotic celebration of a planet that may or may not exist. It’s weird, wonderful, and completely irresistible.

“Spaceman” – The Killers
Brandon Flowers recounts an alien abduction with hooks so big they might actually reach outer space. It’s catchy, cryptic, and somehow makes extraterrestrial confusion sound anthemic.

“Starlight” – Muse
Muse delivers a space rock epic filled with longing and cosmic escape. The pounding piano and soaring chorus make it feel like a transmission to someone (or something) far away.

“Subterranean Homesick Alien” – Radiohead
In true OK Computer fashion, Thom Yorke imagines being taken away by aliens just to escape human indifference. It’s dreamy, disillusioned, and captures that late-night longing to belong somewhere else.

“The Flying Saucer” – Buchanan and Goodman
One of the first-ever mashups, this 1956 novelty hit splices together rock ‘n’ roll clips to tell the story of a UFO invasion. It’s goofy, groundbreaking, and a reminder that alien hysteria has always had a beat.

Happy World UFO Day. Keep your eyes on the sky—and your playlist beaming.

Future Funk Icons Lettuce Launch ‘Lettuce Crush’ Natural Wine Line

0

GRAMMY-nominated future funk band Lettuce has teamed up with Colorado-based natural winery Aquila Cellars to launch Lettuce Crush Vol. 1, a new line of wines debuting with two distinct blends, Red Crush and Orange Crush. Created with the same care and creative spirit that defines the band’s approach to music at one of the country’s most innovative wineries, Lettuce Crush is available for purchase now throughout the U.S. and will begin rolling out at select Colorado retailers and restaurants this summer.

Handcrafted at high elevation in Paonia, Colorado, Lettuce Crush Red Crush and Orange Crush, are each grown organically, produced without additives, and shaped by the raw creative ethos shared between both collaborators.

“Lettuce has always stood for well-made things in their purest form,” the band shares. “Well-made records, well-made instruments, well-made food—and now, well-made wine. We don’t need filler, additives or any gobbledygook. So, we decided to make a wine that is just that, nothing added or taken away, just as Mother Earth intended it.”

A high-altitude spin on the Italian table wine tradition, Red Crush is a 50/50 blend of Teroldego and Barbera, fermented 50% whole-cluster and barrel-aged for 10 months in neutral oak. The result is a bold yet balanced red, bursting with black and red fruit from the Barbera, and layered with the savory, herbal complexity of Teroldego—traditionally grown in the high Dolomites. It’s a natural pairing for a long dinner table, but versatile enough to sip solo with the right record on.

“It’s high country meets low country in a glass,” says Brandt Thibodeaux, winemaker and co-founder of Aquila Cellars. “Deeply rooted, high-acid, soulful—it’s the kind of wine that plays like a groove.”

Built on a base of Riesling and Pinot Gris, Orange Crush is a textural field blend full of citrus zest, tropical fruit, and a surprising hit of raspberry through the mid-palate. Fermented on the skins, it’s bright and wild with just enough grip to hold its shape. It’s a porch pounder with enough structure to cellar and pop at the next album drop or you might decide to crush it yourself before the second set.

“There’s something energetically primal about a field blend,” says Thibodeaux. “When you are harvesting the grapes and you see the different colors and characters enjoying each other’s company in the bin, you can’t help but think….this is how it was meant to be.”

As the name suggests, Lettuce Crush is as much about intention as it is flavor. The collaboration was born out of mutual respect between two teams steeped in improvisation, analog warmth, and a shared love of making something from nothing. The result is a pair of wines that feel spontaneous but grounded, playful yet disciplined.

“We’re stoked to finally have our own custom blend of wine to bring to the people,” says saxophonist Ryan Zoidis. “Grown and vinified in Colorado, this natty juice will be a great addition to every party dinner or show!”

“Aquila Cellars has been a trailblazer in the Colorado wine scene for the last 5 years. Growing organic grapes in some of the highest vineyards of North America is very difficult and expensive. These wines came out GREAT and we’re beyond grateful to Aquila Cellars for making the first-ever Lettuce Crush happen,” adds trumpeter Eric Bloom.

For fans in Colorado, Lettuce will be hosting an official launch party on Tuesday, July 2nd at My Boy Tony in Denver. The event is open to the public, kicking off at 7pm and featuring an all-vinyl deep cut set by NELLI. Attendees will be able to purchase the wine on-site as well as buy fee-free tickets to the band’s upcoming July 4th performance with GZA at Cervantes’ Masterpiece Ballroom.

Lettuce Crush marks the first pour in what promises to be a flavorful new chapter for the band. This isn’t the only new culinary crossover endeavor in the works, so stay tuned for additional announcements the band is cooking up soon.

Lettuce Crush is now available to ship nationwide. To learn more and order, please visit: lettucefunk.com/wine

Alt-Country Trailblazer Kathleen Edwards Releases “Pine” Ahead of August Album ‘Billionaire’

0

Acclaimed singer, songwriter and performer Kathleen Edwards releases her new song, “Pine,” today. Listen/share HERE.

Reflecting on the track, Edwards shares, “On the 2-day drive from Ottawa to Nashville, a line popped in my head, ‘when we go our separate ways, the thought of you stays.’ By the time I arrived in Nashville I had written ‘Pine’ and it was the first track we put down for this album. Friends who can’t be lovers. A classic country song. At first the arrangement made me feel incredibly bare and exposed, but I now love the spare production; Jason’s super-dry electric solo makes me feel like Dusty.”

The track is the latest offering from her highly anticipated new album, Billionaire, out August 22 on Dualtone Records (pre-order). Produced by Jason Isbell and Gena Johnson, the new 10-song project recalls the lyrical sharpness and unflinching candor of Edwards’ acclaimed debut Failer and includes previously shared songs “Save Your Soul” and “Say Goodbye, Tell No One.”

In addition to Edwards (vocals, acoustic guitar), Isbell (electric guitar, acoustic guitar, keys, synth, background vocals) and Johnson (engineer, piano, background vocals), the album features Anna Butterss (bass), Annie Clements (bass), Chad Gamble (drums and percussion), Jen Gunderman (piano, celeste, Hammond B3 organ, Wurlitzer) and Shelby Lynne and Allison Moorer (background vocals).

In celebration of Billionaire, Edwards will embark on a series of performances this summer and fall, including newly confirmed dates at New York’s Bowery Ballroom on September 16 and a return to XPoNential Music Festival on September 20, among many others. See below for complete tour details.

Of the album, Edwards shares, “I decided to call the record Billionaire because the word is used in such a caustic way these days. But we should all want to be billionaires in life, to be rich in experience, friendship, purpose, and the pursuit of the things that bring us joy.”

Of working with Edwards, Johnson shares, “Kathleen is as funny as she is deep. She loves to rock, have fun and nerd out on guitar tones, which both Jason and I love to do as well. It was important to us to make sure we were featuring all the sides of her in the production of this album, from tracking to final mix. She totally thrived on the energy of the full band when we were in the studio and was also open to an idea I had for the song ‘Little Pink Door.’ That song ended up being a live one-take performance of Kathleen singing while playing acoustic guitar, accompanied by Jason on electric guitar and Jen Gunderman on piano. Both Jason and Jen were right there with her every single breath, only playing when it felt right. I remember when the take finished, Jason said he wouldn’t change a thing about it, and I couldn’t have agreed more. It’s in those moments when you know that something truly special is being made. I am so looking forward to attending a live show and experiencing both the energy and intimacy these songs and stories will bring to the audience.”

Celebrated as one of the forebears of modern alt-country and Americana music, Edwards is beloved by fans and fellow musicians, and praised by The New York Times for her “droll, observant and unsparing tone that is all her own. In her best lines, Edwards has the conversational vernacular and emotional eloquence of a great short-story writer.”

Since debuting in 2003, Edwards has released five albums, including 2020’s Total Freedom—her first after stepping away from music for almost a decade. Released to overwhelming acclaim with pieces at The New Yorker, The New York Times, Rolling Stone and more, Pitchfork called it “a creative breakthrough, written solely for the thrill of discovery,” while Rolling Stone declared it “devastatingly great.” Most recently, Edwards released a covers EP featuring special guests Isbell, Bahamas and Daniel Tashian, including renditions of Isbell’s “Traveling Alone,” Bruce Springsteen’s “Human Touch,” The Flaming Lips’ “Feeling Yourself Disintegrate,” Tom Petty’s “Crawling Back To You” and more. She has been nominated for multiple JUNO and Americana Awards and, in 2012, was awarded the SOCAN Songwriting Prize.

7x Grammy-nominated singer, songwriter, musician and performer Tyler Childers releases longtime fan-favorite song, “Oneida,” today. Listen HERE.

“Oneida” is from Childers’ highly anticipated new album, Snipe Hunter, which will be released July 25 via Hickman Holler Records/RCA Records (pre-order/pre-save here). Produced by Rick Rubin with additional production from Childers and Sylvan Esso’s Nick Sanborn and mixed by Shawn Everett, the 13-track project consists mostly of brand-new songs in addition to fan favorites “Oneida” and “Nose on the Grindstone,” the latter of which was officially released last month after years of being played on the road. See below for complete track list details.

With the project, Childers further establishes himself as “one of country music’s most compelling and unpredictable artists” (Associated Press), as he puts forth a collection that showcases the signature artistry he’s cultivated throughout his esteemed career while continuing to push his own creative boundaries.

“One of his generation’s most important voices” (Rolling Stone), Childers has released five acclaimed albums to date, including his 2017 RIAA Platinum debut Purgatory, 2019’s #1 Country Squire and 2023’s Rustin’ In The Rain, which debuted at #10 on the all-genre Billboard 200 chart. The record features seven tracks, including the 2x Grammy-, VMA- and ACM-nominated single “In Your Love,” which, since its release, has garnered over 13.7 million video views, 215 million on-demand streams, and received overwhelming praise from outlets such as NPR Music, Rolling Stone, Billboard, USA Today, Pitchfork, Stereogum and many more. Childers has also performed countless sold-out shows across the world and been featured on CBS Mornings, The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Late Night with Seth Meyers, NPR Music’s “Tiny Desk Concert” series, and Anthony Bourdain: Parts Unknown.

Known for his electric live shows, Childers and his band The Food Stamps—James Barker (guitar, pedal steel), Craig Burletic (bass), CJ Cain (guitars), Kory Caudill (keyboards), Rodney Elkins (drums), Matt Rowland (keyboards) and Jesse Wells (guitar, fiddle)—will tour through this fall with his extensive “Tyler Childers On The Road Tour,” which includes upcoming stops at New York’s Forest Hills Stadium (two nights), Nashville’s GEODIS Park (two nights), and London’s O2 Arena, among many others.
