Primus has announced a limited-edition 7-inch vinyl release for their latest single, “Little Lord Fentanyl,” which will feature a newly recorded live version of “Duchess (And The Proverbial Mind Spread) – Live from the Mann Music Center, Philadelphia, PA” as the B-side, available now on all digital platforms. Pre-orders for the 7-inch vinyl – available in Burgundy, Gold, Grey, and White Vinyl variants – are live now, with physical copies set to be available on the road as the band kicks off their Onward & Upward summer tour in early July, and at retail starting August 15th.
Originally recorded for the Brown Album in 1998, “Duchess (And The Proverbial Mind Spread)” gets new life in this live version captured during the band’s recent Philadelphia performance. The track features the dynamic drumming of John Hoffman, Primus’ latest addition following the band’s Interstellar Drum Derby search.
In the course of the search, Hoffman was the only one who chose to play “Duchess (And the Proverbial Mind Spread).” His preparation paid off and was soon pressure-tested on the road. “He’s the only one that picked it, and he fucking killed it,” recalls Claypool. Hoffman’s command of the song and chemistry with the band can be heard on this new live recording.
Available now in limited quantities, the 7-inch marks a special physical release for “Little Lord Fentanyl,” Primus’ first new song in over three years and their debut studio recording with Hoffman. Featuring a guest vocal from Maynard James Keenan (Tool, A Perfect Circle, Puscifer), the track has earned acclaim as “transgressive and comforting at the same time” (Stereogum) and “pure brain-melting oddness” (Metal Hammer).
With Hoffman now behind the kit, Primus are poised for a busy summer. The band just wrapped the Sessanta tour alongside A Perfect Circle and Puscifer, and will launch their Onward & Upward headline run on July 5th in Paso Robles, CA, hitting 24 cities nationwide with support from Ty Segall and MonoNeon. Today, singer-songwriter Alex Warren teams up with global icon ROSÉ to release their highly anticipated collaboration, “On My Mind”. The song was announced as a surprise track on Warren’s upcoming album You’ll Be Alright, Kid, dueout July 18th, pre-order here. Warren started teasing the potential ROSÉ collab on his socials a few weeks ago, and fans have been anxiously awaiting the release ever since.
“On My Mind” is a swelling love song in Alex Warren’s mastered style of anthemic pop. Produced by Ammo and John Ryan, the record beautifully meshes Warren and ROSÉ’s vocals for a striking listen. The accompanying music video was directed by Colin Tilley.
Alongside “On My Mind,” Alex’s new album You’ll Be Alright, Kid will feature all the songs on You’ll Be Alright, Kid (Chapter 1), released last fall, and 11 entirely new tracks. Amongst these new tracks are Warren’s chart-topping, global smash “Ordinary” and “Bloodline (with Jelly Roll)”. The majority of the album is co-written by Alex Warren, Cal Shapiro, Mags Duval and produced by Adam Yaron. While You’ll Be Alright, Kid (Chapter 1) focuses on dealing with grief, You’ll Be Alright, Kid turns the page with healing, resilience, and optimism.
Warren’s earth-shattering hit, “Ordinary,” was released in February to rave reviews, counting nearly 1 billion streams to date, and topping the charts. The smash hit spends its third week at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and is currently #1 across the Global 200 Ex US, Top 40 Radio, Hot AC Radio, UK Songs Chart and Spotify Global Top 50. “Ordinary” was not only Warren’s first top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100, but it also makes him the first male soloist to earn an initial Hot 100 #1 this year.
“Ordinary” spent 12 consecutive weeks at No. 1 on the UK chart. This marks the longest running No.1 in the UK by a US male solo act in OCC chart history and the longest running No. 1 of the 2020s. It just returned to #1 for its 13th week. In Australia, “Ordinary” at its 13th week is the second song this decade to have the longest continuous run at #1. “Ordinary” has also reached #1 at Top 40 Radio & Hot AC Radio and currently holds the top US radio audience. Warren now tallies over 2.4 billion career streams to date.
Warren’s previously released singles “Bloodline (with Jelly Roll),” and #1 song “Ordinary,” have seen massive success. “Bloodline” debuted in the Top 10 on the Spotify US Streaming Chart upon and had the highest debut on May 23 on Spotify. With nearly 3 million streams, it is the top song debut in both the US and globally. Directed by B.K. Barone, both Alex and Jelly Roll star in the music video that is set in medieval times – watchhere.
Most recently, Warren made his award show debut with a powerful performance at the 2025 American Music Awards – watchhere. Earlier this year, Warren also made his late night debut with a performance of “Ordinary” on the Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon– watchhere. He also performed the song with Ed Sheeran at a local bar around Coachella – see his Instagram posthere.
Warren recently wrapped his first leg of his Cheaper Than Therapy Tour, hitting major cities across Europe and North America. He announced a 15 date extension to additional cities throughout the US, kicking off in August, see routing below.

After skyrocketing to the forefront of popular culture, GRAMMY-nominated breakout superstar Teddy Swims releases the final chapter of his record-breaking debut album, I’ve Tried Everything But Therapy (Complete Edition), out today. Following a string of successes, he takes a much-deserved victory lap and delivers a definitive and dynamic 32-track vision without comparison, now featuring six new tracks.
Among the new material, he shines on the boundary-busting collaboration “All Gas, No Breaks” featuring BigXthaPlug. Since dropping last week, Vibe raved, “We swoon over the idea of a man being this direct about how in love he is. It’s tender and sweet like prior drops.” He set the stage for the (Complete Edition) with the anthemic and emotional single “God Went Crazy.” which garnered acclaim from UPROXX who assured, “I could see this lovey-dovey ballad still making waves years down the line at weddings and such.” Rounding out the six new songs, Swims includes a personal track about his unborn son, “Small Hands,” featuring his partner Raiche. The (COMPLETE EDITION) is Swims at his most vulnerable, vibrant, and vital.
About the (Complete Edition), he commented, “‘I’ve Tried Everything But Therapy (Complete Edition)’ is the final chapter of this journey that has forever changed my life. I cannot thank you all enough for being on this crazy ride with me. It has meant the absolute world. These songs have been everything to me, from the advice I subconsciously wrote that I didn’t know I needed to hear, to the honest songs I wrote about heartbreak and finding love and myself. Thank you for letting me trauma dump on you while performing on the road, thank you for blasting these songs on your car rides to work, and thank you for just belting them out in the shower. I love you I love you I love you. And most importantly, thank you to the writers who put countless hours and effort into helping me find my voice and the perfect words to show the world how I feel.”
The (Complete Edition) gathers up new music alongside all of the songs from Swims’ record-breaking I’ve Tried Everything But Therapy (Part 1) and (Part 2), which included the powerful singles, “Bad Dreams,” “Guilty,” “Are You Even Real” with GIVĒON, “The Door,” and “Lose Control.” The latter has become a 6x Platinum hit with nearly 4 billion global streams and, as of last week, holds the record for the longest Hot 100 run in history. “Lose Control” is currently #9 with 96 weeks on the chart and counting.
Swims is in the middle of an already monumental year. After releasing I’ve Tried Everything But Therapy (Part 2)— which includes cameos from GIVĒON, Muni Long, Coco Jones, and GloRilla — he performed “Lose Control” at the GRAMMY Awards, where he was nominated for Best New Artist. He then launched a sold-out UK/European arena tour, did a festival sweep through South America, and is currently in the midst of his biggest headlining North American tour yet. He was recently nominated for 3 BET Awards including Best New Artist, Best Collaboration and Best Male R&B/Pop Artist. This fall, Swims and his band Freak Feely head overseas for a run of arena dates in Australia and New Zealand.
All of that followed a banner 2024 fueled by the incredible success of I’ve Tried Everything But Therapy (Part 1), which shot “Lose Control” to #1 on not only the Hot 100, but also five radio airplay charts (Radio Songs, Pop Airplay, Adult Pop Airplay, Adult Contemporary Airplay, Adult R&B Airplay). Swims delivered thrilling performances at the 2024 MTV VMAs, where he received three nominations, and the 2024 Billboard Music Awards, where he received eight nominations and won two awards: Top Hot 100 Song and Top Radio Song of 2024.
Putting in work for years on a quiet-yet-steady grind, Swims arrived at the forefront of popular culture as a tried-and-true star without comparison. He stirred up attention after posting covers online in 2019 — including Michael Jackson’s “Rock with You” and Shania Twain’s “You’re Still the One” — gaining hundreds of millions of views and leading to his signing to Warner Records in 2020. He tirelessly honed his voice and songwriting across a series of EPs — Unlearning (2021), Tough Love (2022), and Sleep Is Exhausting (2022). And he showcased his sky-high range by recording with artists as diverse as Maren Morris, Meghan Trainor, Orville Peck, Jessie Murph, X Ambassadors, ILLENIUM, Tiësto, Armin Van Buuren, and Matoma.
As Swims bookends the first chapter of his meteoric rise with the release of (Complete Edition) now, he also gets ready to embark on what promises to be his biggest, boldest, and brightest era yet.

Country music’s riveting artist Gavin Adcock concludes his major-label debut album cycle in the only way that the buzzworthy singer-songwriter knows how; by announcing the release date for his brand-new album, Own Worst Enemy, set to release August 15th. Adcock’s ever-growing mass of fans will be happy to know that they can now pre-save and pre-addOwn Worst EnemyHERE.
To coincide with the album announcement, Adcock has released a new song from the forthcoming project, “Last One To Know,” written by Adcock, Jack Rauton, Erik Dylan, and Luke Laird, is available today. In addition to “Last One To Know,” Adcock’s songs “Loose Strings,” “Need To,” “Unlucky Strikes,” “Never Call Again,” “On One,” “Almost Gone” (feat. Vincent Mason), and “Morning Bail” are listed among the 24 songs that comprise Own Worst Enemy. Full track listing to be announced at a later date.
Adcock’s upcoming, August 15th, album will release just over a year after his thunderous album Actin’ Up Again (August 2, 2024) released worldwide and subsequently was crowned the largest major-label country debut from a solo male artist released in 2024, with more than 15 million on-demand U.S. streams the week of release. Collectively, Adcock’s releases thus far have pushed the rebel-rouser over the BILLION global streams mark on top of receiving a surprise on-stage during CMA Music Fest 2025 (June 6th) with four RIAA certification plaques: “A Cigarette” (PLATINUM), “Run Your Mouth” (GOLD), “Deep End” (GOLD), and “Four Leaf Clover” (GOLD), marking a major milestone in his breakout career.
Throughout the meteoric year in between both of Adcock’s albums, the Georgia native has won over the hearts of both Country music fans and the Country music industry alike. This past spring Adcock was nominated for New Male Artist of the Year at the 60th ACM Awards, in addition to selling out music venues from coast-to-coast via multiple headline tours such as the Monster Energy Outbreak Tour Presents: Gavin Adcock, his Actin’ Up Again (Again) Tour, and at present his Need To Tour, which kicked off in May. Adcock will also join superstar Morgan Wallen for select dates on Wallen’s I’m The Problem Tour this summer.
After a breakout spring tour as direct support for Teddy Swims’ North American arena tour Diamond Cafe drops Fantasy Real: La Nuit Revue. This is a special edition of his recently released EP Fantasy Real that features a Dom Dias remix along with the original demo recorded after his sold-out Paris show last year at the iconic venue New Morning. Tonight, he returns to Les Etoiles in Paris for a performance during Fashion Week, deepening his ties to the city, before his upcoming performances at Calgary Stampede and the Philips Backyard Music Festival in Victoria, BC.
On releasing this addition of the EP, Diamond says:
“In November of last year, I came back to my hotel after my show at the legendary New Morning and recorded the demo for what would become Fantasy Real. I played the demo over and over while sitting on the balcony, watching the Paris sky go from night to morning. It was a very spiritual feeling. My first time in Paris just felt like home… like I had been there before. Fantasy Real is how Paris felt to me at that moment. I wanted to make sure y’all got a chance to hear it the way I heard it that night. Also, as I get ready for my next show at Les Etoiles during Fashion Week.. I figured I’d reach out to my brother Dom Dias to give me something for the afters. This is La Nuit Revue.”
Diamond made a huge impression on the road with Teddy Swims, gaining new fans with every show. The two singers built a strong bond while on the road, with Teddy bringing him on stage to have the audience sing happy birthday to him and they wrapped up the tour by giving each other tattoos. Check out his video diaries from the tour here.
Be sure to keep an eye out for more new music and upcoming tour dates from the singer, who is quickly becoming an exciting artist to watch.
Hailing from Victoria, BC, Diamond Cafe has been labeled a “pop-funk prodigy” by Pitchfork and has impressed audiences, along with some of your favourite artists, with his signature sound, incredible live performances, and latest LP, Diamond Cuts. Diamond has garnered support from notable figures such as Zack Fox, Anderson .Paak, F1 driver Lewis Hamilton, PNAU, and the legendary El DeBarge (“Rhythm Of the Night”), who joined him on stage for a duet during his sold-out debut show in LA. He has also been a featured artist on several projects, including Gashi’s album 1984 and the Cool Kids’ album BABY OIL STAIRCASE / CHILLOUT. In April last year Eunike Tanzil signed to Deutsche Grammophon, becoming the first female Asian composer to join the Yellow Label. Now the LA-based Indonesian composer-pianist-producer has recorded her debut album, The First of Everything. Musical snapshots of a series of significant firsts in her life, its 12 tracks reveal the gift for storytelling that is central to her work, whether she is writing for stage, screen or concert hall, or sharing her creativity and improvisational skills through her much-loved Hum Me A Melody series and other social media initiatives.
Working with orchestrator Max Knoth, Eunike recorded The First of Everything at Berlin’s Teldex Studios with the Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin and conductor AnnaHandler. She plays piano, celesta, bells and even snare drum herself, with fellow DG artist Sophie Kauer playing solo cello on two tracks.
The album will be released in all formats on 12 September 2025. A limited-edition LP version, on crystal-clear vinyl, includes a signed art-print poster featuring part of the score of “Opening” on one side and a photo of Eunike on the other. A second limited edition, available with either a CD or an LP, offers access to a 15-minute digital masterclass with the composer. A first single, “Remembering”, comes out digitally on 6 June. This will be followed by “Pink Sakura” on 11 July, then “Reverie” on 8 August – a week after Anna Handler conducts the LA Philharmonic in the world premiere of Eunike’s Ode to the City of Dreams at the Hollywood Bowl (31 July).
The First of Everything reflects the versatility, sense of freedom and spirit of adventure that are all part of Tanzil’s modern take on orchestral music. “There’s a story behind each track, and all the tracks are based on personal experiences, specifically first experiences – the key moments in my life that shaped me into who I am today,” she explains. “Once I found the flow and knew what the album was going to be about, it all came very naturally.” She tells her musical tales using great stylistic and instrumental variety, from more minimalistic pieces to sweeping, cinematic orchestral statements.
One of the latter is “Genesis”, a film soundtrack in miniature, written as a homage to the man who first inspired Eunike to compose: Hollywood legend John Williams. “When I was about 13 I heard his Jaws Fugue,” she recalls. “That’s when I first fell in love with the orchestra.” By contrast, the suitably dreamy “Reverie”, on which Eunike plays piano and celesta, stems from a tiny motif by Ravel – “He’s my biggest inspiration in terms of classical composers, so this is my tribute to him.”
A tribute of a different kind can be heard in “Remembering” which, together with “Requiem”, distils Eunike’s memories of her first experience of grief. “This piece holds a very special place in my heart because it’s about my grandmother,” says the composer. “I wrote the melody when I was 16, right after she passed away. I’ve kept it to myself for 10 years and I’m so grateful that we’re finally sending this piece out into the world.”
Cellist Sophie Kauer appears on “Aria” and “Metamorphosis”. “Both tracks are about someone evolving and growing,” notes Eunike, “so I’m giving Sophie all the freedom to be herself.” As for Kauer, she found it fascinating to work so closely with a composer. “It’s amazing to see her whole vision coming to life,” she observes. “Eunike’s music really engages a lot of people who maybe wouldn’t normally listen to classical music, which is what I’m all about too.”
Summing up the experience of recording The First of Everything with Eunike, conductor Anna Handler says, “I admire her discipline, her vision, her precision. She always tries to improve and search for her own musical language and it’s just wonderful to work with her.”
“It was my childhood dream to have my debut album recorded by a large orchestra,” says Eunike in response. “I feel very grateful and honoured that I’m part of this incredible project with so many great musicians.”
Today, indie rock’s exemplary everyman Kurt Vile announces Classic Love, a five-track EP with Nashville songwriter Luke Roberts, releasing 7/25 on Verve Records. To celebrate the announcement, Vile shares the title track “classic love,” which was originally a demo of Roberts’ that the two finished together. The title track is representative of the Classic Love EP as a whole – rooted in collaboration, succinct and infectious. Check out the new single & pre-order the EP here.
The official music video for “classic love,” featuring Vile and Roberts and a pick-pocketing scheme, also released today.
Speaking on the single, Vile says, “I always thought ‘classic love’ was the epitome of a song that belonged on the radio. When I heard Luke and Kyle [Spence’s] recording of this (they even got Kyle’s old Harvey Milk bandmate, Creston Spiers to play some on it) it just floored me: like this could be old or new, just a timeless track… I figured the best way I could help it reach the masses was to just get myself up in that track as well and move ‘er through the kv / verve machine. I believe in Luke so much and, yeah, this song in general has been my and Kyle’s religion for some time. Luke is just a great songwriter, man. Now it can be immortalized in the canon of classic songs! The minute I heard this song I just wanted to be involved. Love ya, Luke!”
After packing an entire album’s worth of songs, licks, and winsome wisdom into his 2023 EP Back to Moon Beach, indie rock’s exemplary everyman Kurt Vile stuck to the medium’s more traditional format with Classic Love. The project draws heavily on Vile’s friendship and creative partnership with Nashville songwriter Luke Roberts. After meeting via MySpace, they toured together for Kurt’s seminal B’lieve I’m Goin Down… album, while Roberts has gone on to release LPs on Thrill Jockey and Thurston Moore’s Ecstatic Peace. Their collaborative work emanates an energy that’s “sad and funny at the same time,” something Vile says is a guiding ethos of his music.
With a run of adored albums and EPs starting in the late 2000s, Vile quickly became a critical favorite and commercial stalwart thanks to 2013’s Wakin on a Pretty Daze and 2015’s B’lieve I’m Goin Down… A leading figure in Philadelphia’s robust indie rock scene, Vile has released nine solo LPs since 2019, as well as a cavalcade of EPs, collaborating with Courtney Barnett, John Prine, Hope Sandoval, The Avalanches, and many more.
Classic Love is a concise but emblematic entry in the Kurt Vile canon: infectious, yet unvarnished, showcasing his natural ability to craft his own songs and interpolate others that you want to keep listening to.
Kurt Vile is currently on tour throughout North America and playing both headlining dates and shows with Pixies. See all Kurt Vile tour dates here and listed below.

With his eagerly-anticipated second album, Falling in Love, released September 12th on Decca Records, Matteo steps confidently into the spotlight as the next generation artist, with the heart of a poet and the reach of a global pop star.
That next generation is more than just a title: When your father is the legendary tenor Andrea Bocelli – the voice that has wowed the world for over three decades – forging your path isn’t just a career move for his son Matteo – it’s a birthright, a burden, and a generational breakthrough which has taken him from heir to innovator.
Today, Matteo Bocelli also shares the deeply moving new single To Get To Love You. Co-written with Grammy-winning songwriter Amy Wadge, this heart-wrenching ballad weaves in a sample from the iconic 1968 Michel Boisrond film La Leçon Particulière, adding cinematic depth to its timeless emotion.
It’s a powerful statement from an artist who is more than a famous surname. This story isn’t just a son riding coattails – it’s a star carving his own path while evolving his rich heritage. Like Enrique Iglesias brought his father Julio’s Latin passion to global pop in the early 2000’s, Matteo is poised to launch his own unique niche of sensual and emotive music that transcends time and trends.
But it hasn’t always been easy. With the Bocelli name carrying an almost mythic weight, it has meant living under a microscope.
The pressure to live up to his father’s extraordinary reputation has shaped his journey, fuelling his determination to prove his own extraordinary artistry. ‘Being a Bocelli is both a privilege and a responsibility,’ he says. ‘I’ve never wanted to run from my father’s incredible legacy but I do want people to hear my voice, my emotions and my version of love.’
And they will. Falling In Love is an album rich in romantic yearning and vulnerability, with passionate showpieces like Amnesiad’amore and the cinematic, emotionally-charged pop ballad entitled If I Can’t Have You. Every track combines a power of classical tradition with modern storytelling.
Matteo co-wrote all the original songs with acclaimed writers including Amy Wadge (Ed Sheeran), Toby Gad (Beyoncé, John Legend), Martin Terefe (Jason Mraz, James Morrison), Iain Archer (Snow Patrol, Jake Bugg), and Johan Carlsson (Ariana Grande, Maroon 5). As well as singing, Matteo plays piano, showcasing his musicianship throughout the album.
His sound draws from a rich tapestry of influences, not least pop superstar Ed Sheeran. Their collaboration on Chasing Stars– the solo single that launched Matteo into global recognition in 2023.
But what elevates his artistry even further is the warmth he brings beyond the studio. It’s a deeply human outlook that seems to radiate from him – and perhaps part of why his appeal extends far beyond his voice. His charisma and warmth have won him friendships with global icons like Bella and Gigi Hadid, thanks to their shared family connections. And it was Matteo’s and his father Andrea’s voices that filled the air at Kourtney Kardashian’s wedding.
Just as Ferrari embodies Italian excellence on four wheels, the Bocelli name is synonymous with the country’s rich culture. The Bocellis are no ordinary family. Home for them are the rolling Tuscan hills and vineyards, evoking the quintessential Italian dream of sun-soaked afternoons, sipping Aperol Spritz by the pool, driving vintage cars through olive groves – all against the backdrop of stirring soundtracks.
It’s offers an irresistible yet languid escapism which is why Matteo invited every producer and musician working on Falling In Love into his own home where he indulged them with his passion for cooking, making pasta with fresh tomato sauce from ingredients direct from his garden. Simple pleasures like food and friendship help inspire the honesty in his music.
This November, Matteo brings his unique blend of tradition and charm back to the UK with three intimate shows. Following the global success of his debut tour – which sold out iconic venues like the Sydney Opera House – he will also tour globally this Autumn. Having performed for King Charles III, President Biden, and opened for Lionel Richie, Matteo will perform three shows in the UK in Manchester (Nov 2), Birmingham (Nov 4), and London (Nov 5).
While the world sees him as a singer, Matteo’s cross-medium talents have seen him also star in a Guess fashion campaign, act alongside Idris Elba, and even appear with his family in The Simpsons’ festive special Feliz Navidad.
This is Matteo Bocelli – the multi-skilled artist, the down-to-earth yet romantic dreamer, the heir to a timeless tradition. Like Shawn Mendes stepping onto a global stage, or Enrique Iglesias redefining romance for a generation, Matteo is set to become a universal favourite – a modern icon with an old soul, a bridge between old-world passion and new-world sophistication.

Five-time Grammy Award winner Samara Joy has released a new single, “Flor de Lis (Upside Down),” a fresh take on the Brazilian classic originally written by Djavan nearly 50 years ago. Sung in Portuguese and arranged by Joy’s drummer Evan Sherman, the track pays tribute to Brazil’s enduring influence on jazz, arriving just ahead of Joy’s tour dates in South America, July 27 through August 2. The “Flor de Lis (Upside Down)” cover artwork features a painting by Brazilian illustrator Anna Cunha.
“Although it’s a heartbreaking story, the poetic lyrics and beautiful melody resonated with me immediately,” says Joy. “I got the chance to sing ‘Flor de Lis’ in Rio during my first trip there over a year ago and hearing the audience join in harmony only cemented how important this song is to the fabric of Brazilian music and culture. In this new arrangement by drummer Evan Sherman with a beautiful painting as the cover by Brazilian illustrator Anna Cunha, we hope to show our appreciation for the impact that Brazilian music has on our artistry as well as the impact it continues to have on the world.”
The Bronx-born jazz sensation continues her meteoric rise with a string of major accolades and career milestones. Her latest studio album Portrait offers a snapshot of Joy’s growth since her GRAMMY Best New Artist win, not only as a once-in-a-generation vocalist but also as a lyricist and band leader. In February, she earned two more Grammys at the 67th Annual Awards, winning Best Jazz Vocal Album and Best Jazz Performance, bringing her total Grammy count to five. Shortly after, she was honored with her first NAACP Image Award, crowned Outstanding Jazz Album for Portrait, which she co‑produced alongside Brian Lynch. This Spring, she was a featured guest on the new season of Sesame Street and was featured in ELLE Magazine’s Women in Music issue, which you can read here.
For Black Music Month, Joy is featured in EBONY’s STAMPED, the second annual list of “The Headliners” shaping cultural conversation, alongside FKA Twigs, The Weeknd, Glorilla, Coco Jones and more. EBONY praises Joy’s once-in-a-generation voice, which “echoes legends yet feels entirely her own.” See the full list here.
Joy’s global tour, which recently included her anticipated sold-out Carnegie Hall debut in her hometown of New York City (photos via Rolling Stone here), will continue throughout the Summer and Fall. Please see below for all upcoming dates, and visit https://www.samarajoy.com/ for more information.

About Samara Joy: A native of the Bronx, Samara Joy became entranced by classic R&B as a child and cut her teeth as a singer in her church’s gospel choir. And while her family history is deeply musical — her grandparents helmed the Philadelphia gospel group the Savettes, and her father, the musician and songwriter Antonio McLendon, has produced, composed and arranged his own astounding original work — she didn’t delve into the jazz tradition until college at SUNY Purchase. During her studies there she won the 2019 Sarah Vaughan International Jazz Vocal Competition, which introduced her to the larger jazz scene as a rising star to watch. She was heard, by audiences and critics alike, as a masterful interpreter of jazz standards and a rightful heiress of the sound, technique and charisma that defined her jazz heroines — including Vaughan, Betty Carter, Abbey Lincoln and Carmen McRae.
Joy released her self-titled debut on the Whirlwind label in 2021, followed a year later by Linger Awhile, her breakout Verve debut, of which DownBeat said, “With this beautiful recording, a silky-voiced star is born.” The album earned her a Grammy for Best Jazz Vocal Album in addition to a headline-making win for Best New Artist. A deluxe edition of the album was released, as well as the EP A Joyful Holiday, which won two Grammy Awards for Best Jazz Vocal Album and Best Jazz Performance (“Twinkle Twinkle Little Me” feat. Sullivan Fortner).
Her latest Verve album, Portrait, which Joy co-produced with the veteran trumpeter/bandleader and multi-Grammy winner Brian Lynch, showcases the intimate, soulful chemistry she’s developed with her touring band. Portrait also spotlights her burgeoning gifts as a lyricist, in ingenious arrangements that meld her thoughtful words with music by Charles Mingus, Sun Ra and her late mentor Barry Harris.
