Aysanabee Releases Bold New Album ‘Edge of the Earth’ with Video for “Gone Baby Gone”

0

Edge of the EarthAysanabee’s sophomore album, arrives today with a new video for “Gone Baby Gone.” A revealing and absorbing work, Edge of the Earth captures an artist at pivotal moments, where opportunity and sacrifice collide.

Also out today, a new video for “Gone Baby Gone” embodies the emotions that come with the end of a relationship – rage and despair, sorrow and relief. Reactive and dramatic, the video conveys an explosive, frenetic energy that speaks to the whirlwind of changes, choices and consequences present throughout the album.

Previously released songs “Home” and “Without You” reinforce the album’s major theme as they explore points of no return, as an impossible homecoming of the heart and hearth, and in mourning the loss of his grandfather, Watin, for whom Aysanabee’s breakthrough debut was named.

Closing song, “Dreamcatcher,” the first song written for the record, best articulates Aysanabee’s purpose on Edge of the Earth – to answer, for himself, what is the value of art and what is he willing to give up in order to make it? “Oh dreams, don’t catch me sleeping,” he sings. From start to finish, the album finds Aysanabee moving forward, with this ambitious, transitional project carving another fork in the road.

Following festival season, which includes opening for Blue Rodeo at their annual summer highlight at Budweiser Stage, Aysanabee’s first headline tour will pick up across western Canada this fall. Indigenous artists are invited to share the stage with Aysanabee at each stop along the way.

On his sophomore album, Edge of the Earth (June 20, 2025, via Ishkōdé Records), Aysanabee embarks on a transformative journey of will, sacrifice and self-discovery. Following the deeply personal narratives of Watin and the introspective exploration of Here and NowEdge of the Earth expands his sonic horizons, blending his signature fingerstyle guitar with lush, cinematic soundscapes.

The album’s title track, released in January, 2025 ahead of his first headline tour, encapsulates the theme of movement both physical and emotional, leaving behind burdens and embracing an uncharted future. Subsequent singles, “Without You,” a heartfelt tribute to his late grandfather and “The Way We’re Born,” a meditation on identity and resilience, offer a glimpse into the album’s emotional depth and sonic ambition. Newest single “Home,” continues to reveal the project’s sonic template and sense of moving beyond the point of no return.

“Every song on this record offers a window into very transitional moments in my life. Over the last few years I was faced with decisions that often took me inwards and made me question the core of my creativity, ‘What drives me to make art and how much would I be willing to sacrifice for it?’ I mulled over calling the record ‘Reflections”’or ‘Patterns,’ but landed on Edge of the Earth,’because oftentimes these decisions would take me to the edge of an unknown and leave me wondering if I was ready to take a leap of faith. I can’t say I was ready , but I can tell you how it felt, and it is in these songs.”

With swelling melodies, intricate instrumentation, and Aysanabee’s unmistakable voice at its core, Edge of the Earth cements his place as one of the most compelling voices in alternative music today. With Edge of the Earth, Aysanabee steps boldly into a new era—unburdened, limitless, and ready to ascend to greater heights.

KAROL G Unveils Theatrical and Genre-Bending Fifth Album ‘Tropicoqueta’

0

GRAMMY-winning recording artist KAROL G unveils her most intimate, theatrical, and daring project to date, “Tropicoqueta.” A sweeping homage to Latin culture in all its rhythm, resilience, and radiance. Her fifth studio album is not merely one that plays— it performs, it tells stories, it dances, and it dresses itself in the symbols, scars, and splendor of a shared Latin heritage. A place where vallenato leans into reggaetón, bachata finds its voice alongside pop, and cumbia swaps stories with mariachi behind the curtain. Every note is wrapped in a vivid visual world that fuses the tropical with the ancestral, the flamboyant with the divine, the staged with the soul deep. “Tropicoqueta” is available now on all streaming platforms.

After nearly two years of personal and artistic evolution, KAROL G plunges into a world where sensuality is power, nostalgia takes center stage, and the stage itself becomes an altar for all that’s been denied, overlooked, or judged. The album draws inspiration from Latin American vedettes, women who were both beacon and controversy, object and subject, and who, through Karol’s lens, are reborn as icons of freedom, boldness, and unfiltered art.

“This album is a love letter to who we are. To everything we feel, and the infinite universe of things that define us as Latinos. It’s what, to me, would be the perfect playlist. A project where I couldn’t pick a favorite track even if I tried. I love them all, because each one takes you to a completely different world of sensations,” said KAROL G.

In “Tropicoqueta,” KAROL G takes full ownership of the creative journey, from the earliest songwriting sessions to production and final execution. Every song, visual, and performance is crafted to speak of transformation and how a woman can build her own stage, even in the dark. The album features an extraordinary group of collaborators, including Eddy Lover, Feid, Greeicy, Manu Chao, Mariah Angeliq, and Marco Antonio Solís, who help deepen its connection to the roots, essence, and origins of each genre represented. It begins with a cameo by one of her biggest inspirations, Latin pop icon Thalia. From there, it moves through a track produced by the legendary Pharrell Williams that fuses American and Latin culture, an authentic dembow crafted with Dominican producer Leo RD, and contributions from creative partners like Edgar Barrera, Ovy on the Drums, and Tainy. The result is a whimsical tribute that blends just the right touch of nostalgia with KAROL G’s signature sound.

“Tropicoqueta” follows a historic run of global milestones that have solidified KAROL G as a once-in-a-generation force in music and culture. With every release and accolade, KAROL G continues to redefine what it means to be a global superstar, proudly carrying her culture to the world stage and pushing the boundaries of what’s possible for Latin representation in entertainment.

Michaela Jaé Drops Empowering New Single “Two to Tango” Ahead of SF Pride

0

Ahead of her headline performance at San Francisco Pride on June 28th, Michaela Jaé, the Golden Globe-winning and Emmy-nominated actress, singer, and activist just debuted her latest single and music video, “Two to Tango,” a pulsating R&B-pop number that intertwines Michaela Jaé’s impressive vocal performance with an infectious groove that’s both timeless and fresh. Michaela Jaé co-wrote the track with producer Nick Smith (Emei, Jillian Rossi, Zoya). The pair are long-time collaborators and have previously worked together on tracks like “Green Lights” and “All Mine” from her debut album 33.

“When I was writing this song, I realized that even though I’m just one person, it really takes two parts of your mind to rationalize how you move through the world. It felt like the angel on one shoulder and the devil on the other— yin and yang—actually having a conversation, trying to create some kind of balance,” says Michaela Jaé. “Without one, the other can’t exist. It takes two to tango.”

In this hypnotic video, Michaela Jaé explores the sensuality and duality of desire by embodying two strikingly different personas, bringing the emotional tension of the track to life. The video was co-directed by the buzzy Jon Sams (Trixie Mattel, Fenty Beauty) & Michael Ian (Paris Hilton, Nicole Scherzinger).

Michaela Jaé released her highly anticipated debut album 33 in 2024. Over the course of ten genre-hopping songs, Michaela Jaé explores themes of self-discovery and resilience through the eyes of a cloned humanoid woman navigating an alien planet. Each song on 33 represents a different stage in her intergalactic avatar’s journey, from the initial shock of waking up without a memory to ultimately finding acceptance and empowerment in her new reality. Through this fantastical lens, Michaela Jaé uncovers deeper human emotions and experiences, weaving an allegorical tale that parallels her own journey.

A New Jersey native, Michaela Jaé found her passion for music at a very young age, through performing arts programs in Newark and New York City. She later attended Berklee College of Music where she majored in songwriting and minored in performance.

Michaela Jaé is the first trans woman to receive a Primetime Emmy Award nomination for her role as ‘Blanca’ on FX’s “Pose,” which also won her the Golden Globe for Best Actress in 2022. In 2023, Michaela Jaé was selected as the first trans ambassador for the prestigious beauty brand Charlotte Tilbury. She will next be seen on Season 3 of Apple’s comedy series “Loot,” where she stars opposite Maya Rudolph. In addition, Michaela Jaé starred on the latest season of FX’s “American Horror Story,” titled “Delicate.”

Since then, Cardi B has been on countless features, including a Platinum-certified single, “Put It On The Floor Again” with Latto.

Anne Murray Celebrates 80th Birthday With Vault Album ‘Here You Are,’ Out Sept. 5

0

Today, in celebration of her 80th birthday, Anne Murray announces Here You Are, her 33rd studio album arriving September 5, 2025. Alongside the news, she shares the previously unreleased single, “Rest Easy (In My Love)”. The album, available now for pre-order via Universal Music Canada, the country’s leading music company, features 11 never-before-heard songs recorded between 1978 and 1995, showcasing Murray at her vocal peak.

Executive produced by Grammy and JUNO Award-winner, Bob Rock (Bon Jovi, Michael Bublé) and mixed by Adam Greenholtz (Disney & Marvel Films, LeAnn Rimes, The Offspring), Here You Are expertly revitalizes a collection of rare studio recordings, masterfully updated for release.

“Imagine my surprise and delight,” Murray shares, “when a young fan, who first saw me perform in Las Vegas, years ago, when he was 15, told me that he had discovered several songs that had never been released… songs that didn’t make the cut between the years 1978 and 1995. Here are a few of them.”

Drawn from the vault and recorded during the height of her career, Here You Are, a collection of hidden gems that, until now, remained untouched. These rediscovered songs from the archives, expands Murray’s timeless catalogue, giving fans music that bridges the past and present.

Location: Dale Murray Studio // L-R: Dale Murray, Anne Murray, Dawn Langstroth

“Rest Easy (In My Love)” was recorded in Spring of 1989 and now the album’s lead single. Originally considered for Greatest Hits Volume II, it finds its moment more than three decades later. The title track and early favourite of Murray’s, “Here You Are”, penned by acclaimed songwriter Hugh Prestwood (“Feed This Fire”, “The Song Remembers When”), was once in the running for Murray’s 1996 self-titled album.

Another standout, “Bring All Your Heartaches to Me”, originally recorded for A Little Good News, features Murray’s daughter Dawn Langstroth on background vocals and a striking guitar solo by her nephew, Dale Murray. “Straight From the Heart” initially recorded for 1984’s Heart Over Mind, covers the Bryan Adams classic with new background vocals by Anne and her daughter Dawn, and a fresh pedal steel solo by her nephew Dale.“Heaven In My Heart” was first recorded by Murray’s brother Bruce Murray for his 1984 Capitol Records release, and now comes full circle with Murray’s own voice. “Feels Like More Than Dancing”, co-written by Patti Dahlstrom and Kerry Chater (the latter who contributed to several of Murray’s albums), was also recorded by Captain & Tennille. “I Lost My Dog” is perhaps the album’s most unique cut—a heartfelt song given to Murray by her Las Vegas orchestra leader, Al Gambino.  “How About Goodbye” written by Nashville Songwriters Hall of Famer Thom Schuyler (Kenny Rogers, John Conlee), also worked for the music publishing arm of Murray’s publishing company. “Maybe” a ballad written by Robbie MacNeill, the two toured in the early days as a duo and the song was recorded at the same time as Somebody’s Waiting.

The reflective “Gone” revives the Ferlin Husky classic, a No. 1 country hit in 1957 and a hit again by Joey Heatherton, then Ronnie McDowell, the song saw new life in the hands of Murray during her late-80s recording sessions, initially meant for Greatest Hits Volume II. Finally, “Catch My Breath” written by Alan O’Day (“Angie Baby,” “Undercover Angel”), closes the album with poignant elegance—another buried treasure from one of Canada’s most enduring voices.

Here You Are will be available to stream and download, as well as on CD and a variety of vinyl options, including 180gram black vinyl edition with OBI-Strip, and limited edition formats including a limited edition 180gram Vinyl Edition housed in a slipcase with a signed lithograph available exclusively on the Universal Music artist store.

A true Canadian music icon, Murray’s voice and timeless music have defined a career spanning over five decades. She is a trailblazer in pop, country, and adult contemporary music with her catalogue amassing over 1 billion global streams (and counting), and over 55 million albums sold worldwide.  She paved the way for young Canadian artists such as Céline Dion, Shania Twain, kd lang, Alanis Morissette, and Sarah McLachlan amongst others.

Murray’s influence is undeniable, she was the first Canadian female solo artist to reach No.1 on the U.S. charts, the first Canadian female to earn a Gold record for “Snowbird” (1970) and the first woman to win ‘Album of the Year’ at the Country Music Awards in Nashville for A Little Good News. Over the course of her career, she has earned four Grammy Awards, three American Music Awards, three Country Music Association Awards, and three Canadian Country Music Association Awards. Bestowed with a record-breaking 26 JUNO Awards (the most JUNO awarded artist in history), and most recently honoured with The Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2025 JUNO Awards.

SunYears Unveils Americana Gem “Spanner In The Works” Ahead of Album ‘The Song Forlorn’

0

Peter Moren (Peter Bjorn and John) has been teasing his forthcoming album under the SunYears moniker, The Song Forlorn, with recently released singles “Last Night On the Mountain” featuring Lisa Hannigan and Sam Genders, “Dark Eyes” and “(Going To A) Cruel Country.”

In addition to Lisa Hannigan and Sam Genders, The Song Forlorn will feature guest appearances and collaborations from Nicole Atkins, de clair and Madison Cunningham. The new album, due August 21, 2025 via Villa, includes the catchy Americana-tinged – pedal steel and all – “Spanner In The Works” which is out today alongside its accompanying music video.

A colorful, swinging journey through decades of devotion to songcraft. This one goes full circle – and lands right at the heart. These tunes, delightful and delicately crafted alternative-folk music, are the first he’s shared since his debut full-length, Come Fetch My Soul!, which featured collaborations with Jess Williamson on the title track, Ron Sexsmith and Eric D. Johnson.

Speaking on the song, Moren says “This song is an allegorical tale inspired by my life in music. All the wondrous things it has given, pleasure, excitement, creative fulfillment, but also the pitfalls, dead ends, and rocky roads. It has continuously changed my personality and outlook on things.”

“Spanner In The Works,” in addition to appearing on the upcoming album, also serves as the title track of an EP out today featuring two additional covers, “Absolute Beginners” by David Bowie and “Like an Old Fashioned Waltz” by Sandy Denny. Speaking on the songs, Moren says “…the great pedal steel player Roger Gustafsson invited me to guest at his club at a suburban Stockholm cinema where he plays with musical guests. I sent him some originals and some covers we could try, and ‘Like an Old Fashioned Waltz’ felt like a perfect fit. I do love a waltz-time gem, and this is just such a beautiful, yearning lyric and melody.” As for the Bowie cover, he recalls “I have loved ‘Absolute Beginners’ since it was released when I was a wee boy. The fantastic form which keeps shifting and building, the chords, the melody, the words – high drama and so much emotion. To me, it is a shiny pearl of a composition and, as a pure song, one of his very best and most eternal. I always dreamt of singing it. But it seemed so tricky. After Bowie sadly passed, I was one of the organizers behind a charity tribute concert at Sodra Teatern in Stockholm, and the chance finally came. It feels lovely to have captured the passion we feel for it on tape. Hope you all enjoy! Extra points to Andreas Nordell’s gorgeous harmony singing on both numbers here – and to our mate Ruben Engzell at Studio Skutan who recorded and mixed it all!”

Sister Sadie and The Po’ Ramblin’ Boys Team Up for Bluegrass Benefit “Just a Holler Over”

0

The bluegrass world has been abuzz since the venerable International Bluegrass Music Association (IBMA) announced last year that it was moving its annual World of Bluegrass festivities to Chattanooga, Tennessee after spending nearly more than a dozen years in Raleigh, North Carolina. Now, a special collaboration between two GRAMMY-nominated bluegrass groups — the all-female Sister Sadie and modern traditionalists, The Po’ Ramblin’ Boys — have joined forces for a Mountain Home Music Company musical celebration of the fact that the new location is “Just a Holler Over” from the old. And by way of thanks for the inspiration, the artists’ earnings from the track will be donated to the IBMA’s Bluegrass Trust Fund, established to help musicians and industry professionals with emergency financial needs.

“I wrote this song with Robin Macy after she had the idea, when the International Bluegrass Music Association moved from Raleigh to Chattanooga,” says Sister Sadie’s co-leader, IBMA Fiddle Player of the Year and IBMA Board member Deanie Richardson (fans with long memories may recall Macy as a one-time member of the Dixie Chicks). “She asked me to help her finish it and I was honored to do so. I felt Sister Sadie needed some help on this one and the perfect people for that were The Po’ Ramblin’ Boys. I knew Jaelee and C.J. would make this tune a great duet.”

Indeed, that collaborative spirit is evident throughout the track, as Sister Sadie’s reigning Female Vocalist of the Year, Jaelee Roberts, and Po’ Ramblin’ Boys leader and IBMA Board member C.J. Lewandowski trade lines throughout each verse before joining with Sister Sadie’s Dani Flowers in a trio that offers the song’s rousing chorus:

Just a holler over you will hear
The fiddles and the banjos drawing near
When you hear that whistle blow, that’s when you will know
You have found a home in Tennessee

Similarly, solos are divided between Sister Sadie’s banjo player, Gena Britt, mandolinist Lewandowski, Richardson and The Po’ Ramblin’ Boys’ guitarist John Gooding to recreate the ever-shifting focus of the kind of bluegrass jam session that characterizes the World of Bluegrass. The track even manages a sly nod to another bluegrass tradition by complementing a lyrical reference to the old-time fiddle tune, “Cattle In The Cane,” with a snippet of its melody.

“Sister Sadie, Po’ Ramblin Boys and Mountain Home Music joined forces to make this song come to life,” Richardson offers. “And since it was sparked by the IBMA move to Chattanooga, we decided to donate all proceeds from this song to the International Bluegrass Music Trust Fund.  Hope you enjoy this tune and help us raise some money for a great cause.”

Cowboy Mouth Revs Up ‘Cover Yo’ Azz’ With The Replacements’ “Can’t Hardly Wait”

0

One of the great American rock bands of the last four decades, Louisiana stalwarts Cowboy Mouth have released “Can’t Hardly Wait,” the searing second single from Cover Yo’ Azz, a brand new collection of recordings paying homage to some of their favorite songwriters of the last 60 years.

Vocalist/drummer Fred LeBlanc has a special affinity for the songwriting chops of The Replacements. “(They) particularly captured my ear and heart. Not only with their devotion to classic pop and punk rock but also their attitude of IDGAF to the entire music industry.”

The fevered take on “Can’t Hardly Wait,” which Glide Magazine dubbed, “innovative and powerful,” along with the previously released Appalachian infused spin on Queen’s “Fat Bottomed Girls,” comprise a pair of advance singles amping anticipation for Cover Yo’ Azz, which arrives August 15 via Symphonic Distribution. The 10-track collection marks the band’s first full-length of newly recorded material since 2014’s ‘Go!’.

LeBlanc explains the title and the impetus for the recording, “There’s no rhyme or reason. It just kind of… happened. For CYA, we compiled a bunch of songs we liked and threw them together. Everybody brought a different sound and vibe to the tracks, and we had a blast re-creating some amazing songs – with a CM twist.”

Adds guitarist/co-founder John Thomas Griffith, “Music of any flavor has a way of being your own personal sage advisor. Listen closely, and you will hear the wind blow.”

Flanked by bassist Brian “Bruiser” Broussard and guitarist Frank Grocholski, the band enflames Southern boogie on the Ian Hunter/Mick Ronson penned, “Just Another Night” (arriving July 11) while injecting a cacophony of rhythm on the 1971 Cher-classic, “Gypsies, Tramps & Thieves,” the original written by Bob Stone.

“Gypsies, Tramps & Thieves always fired my imagination, because the original recording sounded like a circus,” offers LeBlanc.

Elsewhere, the band adds heft to perennial jukebox heroes, The Who (on “The Real Me”), Fats Domino (on “I’m Gonna Be Wheel Someday”) and Frank Sinatra/Elvis Presley/Sid Vicious (on “My Way”) but downshifts on gorgeous renditions of the Rodney Crowell masterwork, “‘Til I Gain Control Again” and Hootie & the Blowfish’s “City By A River,” a tribute to an elegant song about “longing for the intangible.” “Maybe it’s heaven, maybe it’s home… maybe it’s both” but also to their lifelong friends from Columbia, SC. Joining the proceedings is Hootie guitarist Mark Bryan, who elevates spirits even higher.

Elevating the collective mood is the band’s primary groove. Through the end of the year and beyond, the quartet is on the road, playing to rapturous crowds from coast to coast. A little bit rock, a little bit revival, a little bit rodeo, when Cowboy Mouth bellows, anything goes.

Bruses Unleashes New Chapter with Heart-Wrenching Single “ME ESTOY RINDIENDO am0r :(”

0

Four-time Latin Grammy nominee, Bruses, returns with “ME ESTOY RINDIENDO am0r 🙁,” a raw and emotional song about what it feels like to lose yourself, stop recognizing who you are,  and carrying emotions you don’t always know you can’t always explain. Released under RCA Records, this track invites listeners into Bruses’ world, one that’s unfiltered, emotional, and completely her own. “ME ESTOY RINDIENDO am0r 🙁 is now available on all digital platforms.

Since she teased a snippet on social media, the song has sparked over a thousand organic TikTok creations, a clear sign of the deep connection it’s building with her audience. This new release not only continues the emotional thread that runs through her music, but also marks the beginning of a new chapter in her career.

“ME ESTOY RINDIENDO am0r :(,” blends a melancholic piano base with a production that rises and falls in intensity like an emotional rollercoaster. The song builds slowly until it reaches a climax of sharp, rock-infused sounds that contrast with Bruses’ soft voice, evoking the feeling of someone crying out for help from deep within. Towards the end, the track erupts, breaking the calm, hitting the listener like a wake-up call. With lyrics such as: “I don’t know what happened, I don’t smile anymore. If they take pictures of me, you can see the emptiness. I used to be so happy ,now I don’t even remember. I think I broke, or maybe I’m giving up.” (“No sé qué pasó, que ya no sonrío. Si me toman fotos, se nota el vacío. Era tan feliz, hoy ya no me acuerdo. Creo que me rompí o me estoy rindiendo,”) she lays herself bare in a way that turns her feelings into something universal.

With 4 Latin Grammy nominations under her belt, Bruses marks this release as the official start of a new chapter in her artistic journey. Her latest tracks “I’M SO HAPPY,” “COMA PARTY,” and now “ME ESTOY RINDIENDO am0r :(,” prove that in Bruses’ universe, anything is possible. With each song, she opens new doors for listeners to discover who she really is: not just a performer, but one of the most authentic voices in Latin pop.
