From Ashes to New Announce 2025 New Disease Tour with Magnolia Park, Until I Wake, and Not Enough Space

0

From Ashes to New announced their 2025 New Disease Tour. Produced by Live Nation, the 28-city tour kicks off on September 20 at Delmar Hall in St. Louis making stops across the U.S. in Chicago, Cleveland, Atlanta and more before wrapping up in Fort Lauderdale at Revolution Live on November 14.

After coming off a wildly successful two-year album cycle for their Blackout album – where the band amassed their biggest hit, the #2-charting “Barely Breathing” (feat. Chrissy from Against the Current), multiple Top 10s, and over 120 million streams – they played the biggest festivals and toured with top acts including Shinedown, Motionless In White, In This Moment, Nothing More and Set It Off. From Ashes to New refuses to stop the momentum.

Finishing touring in November 2024, From Ashes to New immediately went into the studio – facing multiple obstacles, including abandoning the initial writing and recording sessions to instead focus on refining the evolution of their sound. Eventually reorganizing, the band wrote and recorded what will be their upcoming, currently unnamed album in just three months. “The songs just kept flowing. Once we decided to just go for it…”

Already in 2025, the band has toured with scene legends Asking Alexandria and revisited the stages at the world-famous Sonic Temple and Welcome to Rockville festivals. Getting ready to begin releasing new music this summer, From Ashes to New are as poised as they’ve ever been to further their extraordinary career.

“This tour with incredible support from Magnolia Park, Until I Wake and Not Enough Space is gonna rip so hard! We may even have to break out a few new songs and a whole new vibe. The next chapter is almost here and we are beyond ready to share it with everyone.” – Matt Brandyberry

While the focus right now remains on touring – including hitting all stops on the 2025 Warped Tour and Louder Than Life – From Ashes to New are hopeful to unleash a new single for summer 2025 and give fans a small taste of an album they are all in on..

TICKETS: Tickets will be available starting with artist presales beginning today, June 10 at 12PM ET / 9AM PT. Additional presales will run throughout the week ahead of the general on sale beginning Friday, June 13 at 10am local time at FromAshesToNew.com.

Bruce Dickinson Reimagines ‘Balls to Picasso’ and Plots Major North American Tour

0

In 1994, having left Iron Maiden for a time (he rejoined in 1999), Bruce Dickinson released his second solo album, entitled Balls To Picasso. Named in honor of the cubist pioneer whose representations of spherical objects were as squares and reflected on the cover in graffiti style on a tiled bathroom wall, the album belied its irreverent title by solidifying Dickinson’s reputation as a serious solo artist.

His first record with collaborator Roy Z, and recorded with Z’s band Tribe Of Gypsies, it went through various iterations before its release, produced by Shay Baby. The original album included a number of classic tracks and live favorites from Dickinson including the singles “Tears Of The Dragon” and “Shoot All The Clowns,” alongside the much-loved epic “Laughing In The Hiding Bush,” which was the original title for the album.

Yet despite its positive reception at the time, it never quite captured Dickinson’s original vision which was even more expansive in scope and ambition. However, with the ability to revisit his solo catalog – and following on from Dickinson’s hugely acclaimed album The Mandrake Project in 2024 – the brand-new part re-recorded, remixed and newly mastered version of the album, now entitled More Balls To Picasso, reimagines it as a fresh and contemporary release; a roaringly full-throttle and ambitious collection of supremely crafted and realised songs.

Dickinson says of it, “While mixing all my catalogue into Dolby Atmos I had a nagging desire to revisit and reinvent the record. So putting more balls into ‘Balls…’ was a labour of love. Of course, we beefed up the guitars – courtesy of our ‘Swedish shredder’ Philip Naslund and we added some really beautiful work by Adassi Addasi on ‘Tears…’ as well. Fellow Brazilian composer Antonio Teoli added some stunning orchestral arrangements, and in a unique contribution, added indigenous instruments from the Amazon (recorded by himself when he lived there!) at the beginning of ‘Gods Of War’.

“‘Shoot All The Clowns’ gets the benefit of a horn section fronted by the Berklee College of Music, and all of the record gets the benefit of the mix by Brendan Duffey, (who worked on The Mandrake Project), with notes along the way from Shay Baby, the original father of the album”.

Additionally, More Balls To Picasso includes two previously unreleased live in-the-studio tracks, “Gods of War” and “Shoot All the Clowns.” It will be available as a splatter vinyl double album and tri-panel digisleeve CD album.

Elizabeth McGovern Brings ‘Ava: The Secret Conversations’ to Toronto’s CAA Theatre

0

Academy Award, Golden Globe and Emmy Award-nominated actor Elizabeth McGovern stars as Hollywood’s original femme fatale Ava Gardner in a critically acclaimed new play lauded by Entertainment Weekly as “mesmerizing and electric!” Ava: The Secret Conversations will make its highly anticipated Canadian Premiere in Toronto this Fall. The production, directed by Tony Award nominee Moritz von Stuelpnagel (Broadway: Hand to God, Present Laughter) and produced by Karl Sydow (Los Angeles: The Last Ship, UK: Noises Off, The Light in the Piazza), will play Toronto’s CAA Theatre from November 6 through November 23, 2025.

Tickets for Ava: The Secret Conversations will go on public sale at 10AM on Monday June 16 at mirvish.com or by calling 1.800.461.3333.

In 1988, the Golden Age of Cinema’s Ava Gardner sat for a series of interviews with journalist Peter Evans that were to become the basis of an autobiography. There was lots of material to cover – her marriages to Mickey Rooney, Artie Shaw, and Frank Sinatra, her turbulent time with Howard Hughes, and the more than 50 films she made. Gardner’s relationship with Evans was tempestuous, and Gardner decided to write her memoir alone. Evans kept his notes and transcripts of those interviews and 25 years later, with permission from Gardner’s estate, he published the interviews and told the story of his time with Gardner. The book received rave reviews – Maureen Dowd in The New York Times called it “mesmerizing.” Now, Evans’s book is reimagined on stage, adapted by the star of the show herself, Elizabeth McGovern, and also starring Aaron Costa Ganis as Peter.

Biffy Clyro Drop Uplifting New Anthem “A Little Love”

0

Biffy Clyro return with new single “A Little Love,” their first new music since their #1 album A Celebration of Endings and its companion project The Myth Of The Happily Ever After. The trio recently introduced the track to a huge audience during their main stage set at Radio 1’s Big Weekend and it has just been premiered as Radio 1’s Hottest Record. Listen to “A Little Love” HERE.

Recorded with producer Jonathan Gilmore, “A Little Love” is Biffy Clyro – Simon Neil (vocals/guitar), James Johnston (bass) and Ben Johnston (drums) – in their most gloriously uplifting mode. Its effervescent tones, dramatic synth stabs and heavyweight grooves establish the band’s renowned blend of grit and melody, but it soon takes flight with a soaring, sky-bound hook that’s as instantly infectious as any of their big hits. It’s the perfect soundscape for lyrics which celebrate love in all its forms, and especially the realization that you don’t always know what you have until it’s gone.

The accompanying visual for the track uses the striking physicality of interconnected body movement between the three as a metaphor for the durability and reliance that Biffy Clyro share as a band. The concept was inspired by Marina Abramović’s 1977 work Relation In Time, and the visual was directed by Piers Dennis, best known for his work with Self Esteem. Simon, James and Ben were choreographed by the Olivier and Obie Award winner Steven Hoggett, who is renowned for collaborating with David Byrne for the performance art project Social! The Social Distance Dance Club.

In addition to its digital release, “A Little Love” is also available on limited edition 7″ vinyl. The b-side features an etching.

“A Little Love” emerges as Biffy Clyro prepare to embark upon the next chapter in their journey, with more new music to follow soon.

United as a band since they were just 15-years-old, the trio have taken their band from the big dreams of their scrappy, grunge-loving origins to become one of the biggest forces in alternative rock. Against all odds those ambitions were realised with three UK #1 albums; headline sets at festivals from Reading and Leeds and Download to Radio 1’s Big Weekend and TRNSMT; countless arena shows; multiple NME and Kerrang! awards plus three BRIT nominations.

After recently paying tribute to their roots by playing a secret show under their original name Screwfish, Biffy Clyro have a big summer of festival dates ahead of them. It includes UK sets at Glastonbury, a Scottish homecoming at TRNSMT, and two nights at Eden Sessions in Cornwall

Sound On: What to Listen to While Playing Online Casino Games

0

By Mitch Rice

Online casino gaming has already become an integral part of everyday life and millions of players can be found engaging in this pastime. However, while gambling, players can easily get stressed and excited while trying to make profit.

This is why traditional casinos offer an atmosphere that’s serene and calming by playing the right soundtrack to help their players relax better. But since this is not possible with online casino gaming, players are tasked with the responsibility of setting the tone themselves.

This way they can determine if they want a high-paced tone that gets the heart racing, or a calming option that eases the moment. And just like the words of Aretha Franklin, “It’s [Music] uplifting, it’s encouraging, it’s strengthening.”

So as a bettor trying to get into the groove, what are the best songs to listen to while gambling? How does your choice of song affect your gaming session? These and many more are what we will be looking at in this post.

How Live Music Impacts Your Gambling Experience

Music is an important part of our existence— we hear it in the trees swaying in the wind, and the birds calling out to themselves. This natural innovation is more than just a filler for silence, it’s more of a mood regulator.

With the use of different tempos, music has come to become a tool that shapes the way we play. With music that has faster beats, players get filled with excitement while slower music creates a relaxing environment for strategy based games. This is why tailoring your music to your gaming choice determines your overall mood.

Realistically, nobody wants to listen to a high paced song while playing poker, the same way players would get bored listening to jazz while playing slots. So what you listen to can guide your mood and help you vibe to your game. And just like Late Reggae Star, Bob Marley said, “One good thing about music, when it hits you, you feel no pain.”

Recommended Song For Online Casino Gaming Sessions

As we mentioned earlier, your choice of song can determine your vibe throughout your gaming session. This is why it’s important to groove to the right songs that match your gaming choice. Here’s a breakdown of vibe matching songs to add to your gambling playlist.

5 Surprsing Facts About REO Speedwagon’s ‘Hi Infidelity’

Released on November 21, 1980, Hi Infidelity catapulted REO Speedwagon to the top of the charts and sealed their place in rock history. The album spent an impressive 15 weeks at number one on the Billboard 200 and became the biggest-selling album of 1981. But did you know that some of the most iconic moments of this album were completely unexpected? Buckle up, because here are 5 unknown facts about Hi Infidelity that will make you appreciate it even more.

  1. The Power Ballad Wasn’t Supposed To Be a Hit
The band’s biggest hit, Keep On Loving You, was originally written as a traditional love ballad by Kevin Cronin. When he first played it to the band, they didn’t quite get it. But after some musical tweaking by Gary Richrath, the song transformed into a power ballad that would go on to become a massive number one hit. It wasn’t a strategic move—it was just pure rock ‘n’ roll magic.
  2. Tough Guys Has a Hidden Vintage Gem
The song Tough Guys contains a quirky audio clip from a 1937 Our Gang short film, Hearts Are Thumps. This hidden reference adds a playful and unique touch to the track, making it more than just another rock anthem.
  3. Take It on the Run Was Almost Don’t Let Me Down
The unforgettable opening line, “Heard it from a friend who heard it from a friend…” wasn’t always part of the song. Take It on the Run was originally titled Don’t Let Me Down until Cronin and Richrath decided to revamp it, with the new title perfectly capturing the song’s rebellious spirit.
  4. The Album’s Title Is a Cheeky Play on Words
The title Hi Infidelity is a clever pun, referencing both the term “high fidelity” (a classic audio term) and the album’s themes of betrayal. The cover art cheekily visualizes this with an illustration of a man playing an LP on a turntable while engaging in an act of infidelity. Rock ‘n’ roll indeed!
  5. The Song Don’t Let Him Go Was a Bandwide Plea
The song Don’t Let Him Go is a heartfelt plea, with Cronin admitting that it reflects the experiences of the entire band. It was inspired by their personal relationships and struggles, and the lyrics express a universal message about not taking love for granted. It became a hit despite not being released as a single, making it one of the most relatable tracks on the album.

From playful hidden audio gems to accidental chart-topping ballads, Hi Infidelity is filled with unexpected stories that make this rock classic even more legendary. Whether you’re a lifelong fan or just discovering it, these unknown facts add a whole new layer to the album’s already rich history.
