TOM HAMILTON Launches New Show ‘Goin’ Down the Road’ on SiriusXM Grateful Dead Channel

0

Tom Hamilton, known for fronting bands like Brothers Past and currently singing lead guitar in Joe Russo’s Almost Dead, is launching a new monthly radio show on SiriusXM’s Grateful Dead Channel called Goin’ Down the Road with Tom Hamilton. This collaboration with SiriusXM promises to be a thoughtful and engaging exploration of the Grateful Dead multiverse. Hamilton will guide listeners through a curated musical journey, featuring a rotating lineup of special guests to share their perspectives and musical selections, delivering fresh insights into the band’s expansive and enduring influence across generations.

The inaugural episode is set to air on December 15th and will feature special guest Chris Tomson of Vampire Weekend and Taper’s Choice. Following that, January’s episode will host musical renaissance man Don Was, known for his work as a recording artist, bassist, producer, and overall musical mind. Hamilton expressed his excitement for the venture: “I’m so excited to bring a new show to SiriusXM’s GD channel, celebrating the Dead and our scene through music and conversation.”

Hamilton’s show will span the full spectrum of the Dead’s world, including handpicked music from the classic Jerry Garcia era and more recent projects featuring the bandmembers. Crucially, the show will also spotlight “Descendants of the Dead,” contemporary artists from across genres who draw creative inspiration from the Grateful Dead’s unique and enduring legacy.

This new SiriusXM show comes just ahead of another major release for Hamilton: his first album as simply Tom Hamilton, titled I’m Your Vampire, which drops on January 23rd (AWAL/Relix). Co-produced by Hamilton and Alex Farrar, the album is a testament to the diverse, genre-spanning work that has characterized Hamilton’s rich career. You can listen to Goin’ Down the Road with Tom Hamilton on the Grateful Dead Channel, SiriusXM 23, or anytime on the SiriusXM app.

DAEMÖNIK FONCE Tease New Album ‘DFII’ with Single “Oh Corita”

0

You have to love a band that manages to mix glam power with a serious artistic message, and that’s exactly what Daemönik Fonce are doing with their first teaser, “Oh Corita,” from their upcoming second album, DFII. The track is an ode to the American nun, artist, and anti-war campaigner Corita Kent, delivering a “classic Fonce” sound: all power chords and swagger, taking on a heavy subject but starting from a smiling, celebratory place. The cover art itself is a brilliant homage to the ’80s protest punk scene, specifically the famous CRASS stencil and the ‘pay no more than’ text, modernized for the Bandcamp page as ‘Pay What You Want.’

This group is built around Welsh twins Stewart and Paul Summers, formerly of Sharp Tongues and Ten Benson, alongside Hanna Edgren, Sam Mansbridge, and new drummer Andy Prestidge. They’ve been around the blocks long enough to know the world is going to the dogs, which just gives them more reason to squeeze some joy out of doing what they love. After completing tours with the Jim Jones All Stars and appearing at Sea Power’s Krankenhaus Festival this year, Daemönik Fonce are clearly ready to drop DFII on January 29th, via Property Of The Lost Records.

Just like its 2022 predecessor, Eye Love Daemönik Fonce, the new album is a sonic love letter to the eclectic music and artists the band grew up with, spanning everything from the raw energy of the Sex Pistols and T Rex, to the space rock of Hawkwind and the folk-rock of Fairport Convention. If you like your rock and roll loud, knowing, and just a little bit subversive, keep your eyes on this release.

MORGANS MILL Drops Debut Album ‘Songs for the Modern Day Man’

0

Southern rock outfit Morgans Mill has released their debut full-length album, Songs for the Modern Day Man, an 11-track collection that delivers the blend of country grit and honest storytelling fans have come to expect from the group. Built around core members Dylan Young and AJ Hawkins, the band pulls from influences like Merle Haggard and Blackberry Smoke to formulate a sound that is “southern rock with soul.” The album, produced by Matt McQueen at Gem City Studios, opens with the forward-moving “Right Kind of Good Woman” and includes the reflective, title track “Modern Day Man,” which builds into a big, guitar-driven section perfect for a Nashville stage. The record closes with a southern-rock rendition of the classic hymn “Blessed Assurance.” Touching on a range of emotions from tough and funny to deeply personal, the album looks at the challenge of staying grounded in today’s world, serving as a comprehensive statement on the band’s identity: “If anyone wants to know who we are or what we’re about, it’s somewhere between track 1 and 11.”

THE DANDY WARHOLS Salute Legends with New Covers Album, ‘PIN UPS,’ Out March 20

0

The Dandy Warhols are taking a loving look back at their influences with the announcement of their new album, PIN UPS, a jam-packed collection of covers from venerated and legendary artists. Slated for release on March 20, 2026, via Beat The World/Little Cloud Records, this project has been years in the making. According to keyboardist Zia McCabe, the band had been “talking for years now about getting as many of the covers we’ve done for specific territories together and releasing them for all to hear.” The album features the Dandy’s re-sketches of fabled singles and deep cuts from bands they admire, including The Cure, Gang of Four, The Clash, Bob Dylan, and The Beatles.

Concurrent with the album announcement, the band released the video for the first single, “Kiss Off,” a cover of the Violent Femmes classic. Zia McCabe steps in for Gordan Gano on vocals, adding a bit of bratty flair against a ’50s mod backdrop. “I’m especially excited that we’re releasing our cover of Violent Femmes’ ‘Kiss Off’ for the first time,” McCabe says, adding, “I can’t believe this gem has just been sitting in a hard drive for years.” Guitarist Courtney Taylor-Taylor notes that this record is “one of my favorites” for reminiscing. The diverse collection features a surf-guitar-flavored take on The Cramps’ “Goo Goo Muck,” a percolating pop version of The Runaways’ “Cherry Bomb,” and a faithful, twangy backporch rendition of The Byrds’ “You Ain’t Going Nowhere (Easy Chair).”

As much as PIN UPS is a tribute to the songs they love, it also serves as a love letter to many of their peers and friends. Courtney Taylor-Taylor points out that “Nearly every band we cover on here are friends of ours or artists we have had a meaningful experience with,” though he notes they never met the artists from the ’60s. The tracklist includes unreleased gems like The Grateful Dead’s “Ripple” and New York Dolls’ “Jet Boy,” alongside collected tracks from various tribute records and B-sides, such as their respectfully hazy and mesmerizingly psychedelic cover of The Beatles’ “Blackbird.” The new covers album follows a monumental two years for the band, which saw the release of their critically-hailed album ROCKMAKER (2024) and its companion Rock ReMaker (2025).

The Dandy Warhols, comprised of Courtney Taylor-Taylor, Peter G. Holmström, Zia McCabe, and Brent DeBoer, are set to release PIN UPS on vinyl, CD, and digitally on March 20, 2026. The covers collection is a testament to the band’s eclectic taste and respect for the music that shaped them. It features 18 tracks, including “Primary” (The Cure), “What We All Want” (Gang Of Four), “Straight To Hell” (The Clash), and “Lay Lady Lay” (Bob Dylan), demonstrating a vast and varied musical palette. This album is a must-have for fans looking for fresh takes on legendary tracks.

SPOTIFY Brings Music Videos in Beta to Premium Users in US and Canada

0

Spotify is expanding its music videos in beta to Premium users across the U.S. and Canada, bringing fans closer to the music they love and enhancing the listening experience. Music videos have historically done much more than just accompany a song, shaping culture, style, and conversation. Now, millions more listeners in these regions will gain access to an initial, curated catalog of official music videos, including studio versions, live performances, and covers. While the video catalog is limited during this beta phase, Spotify assures fans that availability will grow quickly in the coming months, offering more visual content that a recent Burson survey found over 70% of users believe will enhance their experience.

This expansion means music videos now join a powerful suite of visual features on Spotify—such as Countdown Pages, Canvas, and Clips—that are designed to help artists connect with their fanbases. Spotify’s data shows that when fans engage with an artist’s music video, they are more likely to dive deeper into that artist’s world. Specifically, users are 34% more likely to stream a track again, and 24% more likely to save or share it in the following week after discovering a video. This effect is particularly strong among “super listeners,” who go on to actively stream the artist 85% more in the next month, on average, proving that music videos are a powerful way to build and deepen fandom.

Premium subscribers in the U.S. and Canada can begin exploring the limited initial catalog right away, featuring artists like Ariana Grande, BABYMONSTER, Tyler Childers, and Carín León. To start watching, users simply open Spotify on their TV, desktop, iOS, or Android device, select a supported track, and tap “Switch to video.” The music video will start playing instantly where the song left off. To return to background listening, users simply press “Switch to audio,” or turn their mobile device to landscape for a full-screen video experience.

Users can easily discover more music videos, including live and cover versions, by exploring the Related Music Videos section beneath the player, visiting an artist’s profile under the Music tab, or checking out genre and era-specific playlists such as 90s Video Hits and Hip-Hop Throwbacks. With this launch, Spotify continues to support artists in sharing the full world of their artistry beyond just their sound. The music video feature will be available to all Premium subscribers in the U.S. and Canada by the end of the month.

TAYLOR SWIFT Takes Over Spotify with Exclusive ‘Eras’ Sticker Drop

0

It has been nothing short of a massive year for Taylor Swift. Her highly anticipated album, The Life of a Showgirl, absolutely shattered Spotify records both before and after its release, even claiming the title for the most-streamed song in a single day in platform history. Now, as the year wraps up, she’s following that up with the release of her documentary series, “The End of an Era,” and the concert film, “Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour | The Final Show,” both hitting screens this Friday, December 12th. Naturally, the music world is paying attention, and it’s clear the Swiftie phenomenon shows no signs of slowing down.

To mark this incredible run of achievements and these major film releases, Spotify is dropping a brand-new, limited-edition, eras-themed playlist sticker collection. Featuring visual elements drawn from across Taylor’s entire discography – from the ‘Keep it 100’ graphic from The Life of a Showgirl and the classic heart hands of Fearless, to the cozy cabin of folklore – these digital stickers let fans worldwide bring the spirit of her albums directly to life. It’s a fun, simple way for Swifties to personalize their music space right within the Spotify mobile app.

Using the stickers is easy: just select or create a playlist in the Spotify mobile app, tap the three dots, and choose “Create cover art.” From there, you tap “stickers” to explore the new pack, dragging and dropping as many era visuals as you want onto your cover art. Listeners can then customize the rest of their cover with text, background colors, and personal images to fully capture their own unique Swiftie spirit.

This celebration follows Taylor’s record-breaking year, which saw The Life of a Showgirl become the most pre-saved album Countdown Page in Spotify history, with over 6 million pre-saves before its October 3rd release. The album then became 2025’s most-streamed album in a single day, achieving the milestone in under 11 hours. The track “The Fate of Ophelia” single-handedly claimed the titles for most-streamed song in a single day and most-streamed song in a single week. Head over to the Spotify mobile app now to celebrate Taylor’s massive year and check out the eras-themed playlist sticker collection.

Supergirl Teaser: Milly Alcock and Jason Momoa Hit the Cosmos

0

Okay, let’s talk DC. Forget the constant reboots and the grim ‘n’ gritty nonsense for a minute, because this Supergirl teaser looks like the real deal, or at least, the kind of weird collision that makes a comic book movie worth watching. You’ve got Milly Alcock—who you remember from House of the Dragon—playing Kara Zor-El, but this isn’t the sweet, bright-eyed cousin. This is a cynical superhero on an interstellar revenge quest after some ruthless threat hits her home. That’s a great setup. But the real hook? Director Craig Gillespie, the guy who made I, Tonya and Cruella—which, let’s be honest, were unexpectedly good—is running the show, and he’s paired her with the galaxy’s greatest anti-hero, Jason Momoa’s Lobo. That is pure, unadulterated comic book chaos, and if Gillespie can keep that energy focused, this thing is going to be far more than just another cape movie when it drops on June 26, 2026.
