On the other end of the spectrum, some people try to save money by settling for the cheapest plan they can find. Neither approach works. You’re either going to pay too much for speeds you don’t need, or you’ll get stuck with internet that drops out and buffers all the time.

If you’re tired of paying too much, or you’re done with unreliable internet, here’s a breakdown of how to avoid common mistakes and get the right internet plan.

Don’t automatically buy the fastest plan

Internet plans are faster than ever these days, reaching Gigabit speeds, but sometimes the fastest plan offered far exceeds a person’s needs. Why pay for what you don’t need? Instead of signing up for the biggest plan you can find, start by assessing your needs. Many people don’t need more than 500 Mbps, and most families can function with speeds between 100 and 300 Mbps, depending on how they use the internet.

If you don’t need the biggest plan your ISP has to offer, get the plan that will support your needs. A reliable ISP will offer competitive, affordable rates for their plans. Don’t look for the cheapest plan out there

It’s crucial to read the fine print and ask about this potential before buying a plan. If you stream, work from home, or game, you’re probably going to hit a data cap faster than you realize.

The B-52s and Devo Unite for Farewell “Cosmic De-Evolution Tour”

Two of rock’s most influential and distinctive forces, The B-52s and Devo, will unite for the 2025 “Cosmic De-Evolution Tour”: a co-headlining 11-date run serving as both bands’ continuing concert farewells. Lene Lovich will open the celebratory trek, which currently launches September 24th in Toronto and wraps November 2nd in Houston.

“In 2022, I swore I’d never get on a tour bus again” said Fred Schneider “but we were careful to say to our fans that we would still perform in special situations that don’t require all of the awful tour travel. Our Vegas residency is going great, and when we were offered the chance to do a small run of shows with Devo, we all said this is an extraordinary opportunity we couldn’t say no to.”

Added Kate Pierson, “When we first came from Athens to New York City to perform, punk was in full force…and New Wave was right on its tail! We loved all the New Wave groups, including Patti Smith, Talking Heads, Blondie and the Ramones. We also really dug the far-out weirdness of Devo, which seemed very in tuned to our sensibilities. We remember one of our first shows– amazed that David Bowie, Brian Eno, Frank Zappa, Allen Ginsberg, Talking Heads and Blondie all came to see us! When we opened the Mudd Club, we partied with Devo and really hit it off on the dance floor. Later, Brian Eno went onto to produce Devo’s incredible first album…and now we will align again ! So put on your wig hats and Devo bonnets and get ready to party! This is going to be wild.”

Said Cindy Wilson, “When both of our bands performed at the recent SNL 50 concert at Radio City, we started talking and agreed we had to do these shows” says Cindy Wilson. “Believe or not, we’ve never done more than a festival or two together in all this time. This will be amazing and I can’t wait for The B-52s to share these stages with Devo!”

Said Mark Mothersbaugh, “The B-52s had one of the best sounds of any of the bands out there in the late 70’s early 80’s – Rock Lobster is one of my favorite songs – DEVO used to sing it to Booji Boy after DEVO shows. Shooter Jennings Unveils Lost Waylon Jennings Album ‘Songbird,’ First of Three Never-Before-Heard Collections

3x GRAMMY Award-winner Shooter Jennings has announced the release of Songbird, a completely new, previously unheard album by his legendary father, Waylon Jennings. The first of three previously unheard albums worth of material by the groundbreaking country music superstar, Songbird collects recordings produced between 1973 and 1984 in various studios by Jennings and his longtime drummer and co-producer Richie Albright, featuring members of his indelible backing band, The Waylors, including Albright and renowned pedal steel guitarist Ralph Mooney, along with such special guests as Tony Joe White, Jessi Colter, and more. Compiled and mixed by Shooter Jennings at Hollywood, CA’s hallowed Sunset Sound Studio 3, Songbird arrives via Son of Jessi/Thirty Tigers on Friday, October 3, 2025.

Songbird is heralded by the first single and title track, Jennings’ stunning version of Fleetwood Mac’s “Songbird,” available everywhere alongside an official visualizer/music video streaming now at YouTube. Both “Songbird” and the Songbird project were officially unveiled yesterday at a special Waylon Jennings Birthday Party/Father’s Day celebration hosted by Shooter Jennings at The Viper Room in West Hollywood, CA. The surviving members of the Waylors, Waylon Jennings’ backing band, were the house band for performances by Jaime Wyatt, Elizabeth Cook, Ashley Monroe, Charley Crockett, and Shooter Jennings, as they performed songs from Waylon Jennings’ illustrious catalogue.

The Songbird project began in the summer of 2024 as Shooter Jennings began sorting through hundreds of high-resolution multitrack transfers of his father’s personal studio recordings. Having just begun an exclusive residency at Hollywood’s historic Sunset Sound Studio 3 (redubbed by Jennings as “Snake Mountain”), the 3x GRAMMY Award-winning producer and artist set to work examining the tapes with the help of veteran engineer Nate Haessly. While his initial hope was to simply unearth some previously lost Waylon Jennings songs that he could share with the world, what he instead discovered was “an audio record of an incredibly profound artist and his legendary band through their peak period of creative expansion.”

“What became very apparent to me was that my dad was recording constantly with his band The Waylors between tours,” says Shooter Jennings. “Just having won the David-and-Goliath battle against RCA for creative control and artistic freedom, Waylon was awarded the ability to record his music on his terms in his own studios, with his touring band, and without label oversight and without any outside influence.

There was just so much inside, my mind was blown! These weren’t demos, these were songs that were cut with the intention of releasing, and as time went on, not all of them found places on the albums that Waylon and the Waylors were releasing at the time.”

Jennings soon realized there was more than enough gold in his father’s vast musical archive to create not just one, but three, brand new Waylon Jennings albums more than two decades after his untimely passing in 2002. Though the majority of the recordings were fully finished, he added a few final touches by bringing in a number of surviving members of The Waylors, including guitarist Gordon Payne, bassist Jerry Bridges, keyboardist Barny Robertson, and backing vocalist Carter Robertson, with contemporary country stars Elizabeth Cook and Ashley Monroe specially enlisted to help take “Songbird” to new heights. Jennings then mixed the original and newly recorded material “in a purely analog fashion” on Sunset Sound Studio 3’s custom 1976 DeMedio API mixing board.

“Songbird is the beginning of Waylon’s return to the modern world,” Shooter Jennings says. “This is the first of three gifts from me to you: the fans that have kept my father’s voice, songs and legacy alive all these years. The next few years are going to be full of some of the most exciting musical moments that the world never knew they were going to hear. I hope that these records bring the kind of joy to you that they have brought me.

“This project has given me an entirely new chapter in my relationship with my father and working on this music has brought a whole new understanding about how, when and why my dad made music. The hard work is there on the tapes and the passion and the soul within is as alive today as it was the day it was recorded.”

Noah Cyrus has announced details for her upcoming sophomore studio album I WANT MY LOVED ONES TO GO WITH ME, alongside details for her North American fall headline tour, and special album release-day show in Los Angeles at The Ford on July 11.

Set for release on July 11 via RECORDS/Columbia Records, I WANT MY LOVED ONES TO GO WITH MEwas co-produced by Noah Cyrus alongside long-time, trusted collaborators Mike Crossey and PJ Harding, and features special guests Blake Shelton, Fleet Foxes, Ella Langley and Bill Callahan.

Tickets for her highly anticipated North American headline tour go on-sale this Friday, June 20 at 10am local. Artist pre-sale begins Tuesday, June 17 at 10am local until Thursday, June 19 at 11:59pm local.

Rooted in Americana, indie folk, and country music, I WANT MY LOVED ONES TO GO WITH ME is a moody, dynamic listening experience mixing whispered vocals with full-throated declarations of personal independence, all tied together by gorgeous organic instrumentation, pedal steel, banjo, dulcimer, mandolin, cellos, and acoustic guitars frame Noah’s smoky yet supple voice. “For a long time, I couldn’t really trust in my own choices. I had to learn how to make decisions for myself and make that transition into adulthood,” Noah Cyrus, now 25, says. “But I’ve found who I am, I know who I am, and this record shows what I had inside me all this time. This album is me.”

Noah pays homage to members of her family in ways both subtle and overt throughout the album. In “Don’t Put It All On Me,” Noah records a song her brother Braison wrote for her, and turns it into a collaboration with Robin Pecknold of Fleet Foxes, one of Braison’s favorite bands. She also brings to life the very first song her father, Billy Ray Cyrus, ever wrote. “With You” is a crisp electric-guitar ballad about undying devotion: “Just listen in the wind and know that I’m your friend/And always with you,” she sings. “My dad is one of my biggest influences,” Noah says. “He turned me on to so many great songs and artists. My musical inspirations came from somewhere, and more often than not, it’s been him.”

There’s also a nod to her father’s influence in “I Saw the Mountains,” a tale of recognizing and communing with the beauty in nature. As a child of Tennessee and California, Noah was always outdoors, and often on horseback. “The harmony between people and the earth is really taken for granted,” she says. “My dad taught us from an early age to connect with nature and the animals that inhabit it.”

Those themes – of family, of nature – pair effortlessly with Noah and Crossey’s immersive interpretation of country music. They tip-toed around the genre on Noah’s full-length debut, 2022’s The Hardest Part, but throw themselves headlong into its sounds on I WANT MY LOVED ONES TO GO WITH ME.

So, Noah continues to walk, confident in the knowledge that she’s found herself and hopeful that listeners will too.

“I want this album to offer fans a sense of comforting, peaceful nostalgia. That’s something that I feel so heavily when I listen to music. We all want to connect with our past while also being aware of the present moment. Music does that for me, and this collection of songs was made with that in mind,” Noah says. “I want to evoke that feeling of a comforting friend that a song can be – and allow us all to heal.”
