Ashley McBryde Releases Studio Version of Live Favorite “Rattlesnake Preacher” Honoring Late Collaborator

0

After closing out her second year of co-hosting CMA Fest with an electrifying performance at Nissan Stadium Sunday night – including a “scintillating” rendition of fan-favorite “Rattlesnake Preacher,” as praised by Tennessean – Ashley McBryde announces the long-awaited studio version of the live staple, available on June 26 via Warner Music Nashville.

“‘Rattlesnake Preacher’ has been a staple in our live show since the bar days, and we’ve constantly been asked by fans when it’ll make it onto a record,” shares McBryde. “As we were gearing up for my second year of co-hosting CMA Fest, it felt like the perfect time to finally get this one out there. It’s my way of saying thank you to the fans who have shown up, listened and gave this song life long before it was ever recorded.”

The forthcoming track also holds personal significance for McBryde. Written by her late friend and collaborator Randall Clay, the release of “Rattlesnake Preacher” also honors his legacy.

“I’ve written nearly every song on all my records, so when I cut one I didn’t write, it means something,” shares McBryde. “Randall was part of a group of songwriters that helped me write some of the most formative songs of my career, and his songs will always find a home with me to continue his legacy.”

Jeremy Short and Tommy Prine Ignite Roots Rock with New Single “Let It Shine”

0

Guitar-slinger and genre-blender Jeremy Short releases his latest single, “Let It Shine,” today – a vibrant, roots-forward track featuring rising Americana artist Tommy Prine. The song, which premiered exclusively with The Bluegrass Situation, is a bold showcase of Short’s signature ability to fuse his Appalachian heritage with electric strains of blues, rock, and Americana, all anchored by his standout guitar work and vivid lyrical imagery.

“Let It Shine” finds Short and Prine trading verses like old friends around a fire, their vocals weaving together effortlessly as the song swells with warmth and grit. Short’s expressive guitar tone – equal parts swampy and soulful – adds texture and drive, while his lyrics reflect a quiet resilience and a sense of hard-earned peace.

Discussing the single, Short said, “On the road we meet a lot of really cool people, a lot of really cool, super talented artists, club owners, you name it. Then, in a matter of hours, you pack up, load out, and head on to the next city. You always hope you’ll make it back there sooner rather than later, that those people will also remember those interactions, that the connections will last, and they will want to come back and hang again or play another show together, that’s one of the best parts of getting out there and seeing the world. But because of the briefness of your time together, it’s also easy to get lost in thoughts of ‘Does this really matter?’, ‘Will they even remember me?’, ‘Am I just spinning my wheels?’ When I wrote this song, I think I was just trying to find that balance.”

Discussing the collaboration, Prine sang Short’s praises stating, “It was an honor to have the opportunity to work with Jeremy on this amazing track, I hope everyone can hear how much fun we had in the studio!”

Whether fronting a band or flying solo, Short has built a reputation for genre-defying songwriting and fiery live shows that pulse with authenticity. With “Let It Shine,” he continues to carve out space for a new kind of Southern storyteller – one unafraid to explore the crossroads of tradition and innovation.

Clinton Kane Returns with Raw New Single “Heartbeat For A Home” Featuring Elina

0

Platinum-certified singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist Clinton Kane returns with his most emotionally charged release to date, “Heartbeat For A Home” featuring acclaimed Swedish artist Elina, available everywhere via his newly independent platform.

Following a period of deep self-reflection and artistic reinvention, Kane kicks off his next chapter with the raw and intimate new track. Gently fingerpicked guitar and soaring piano frame a vulnerable, soul-searching vocal performance from Kane, who delivers a poignant meditation on memory, longing, and the enduring ache of forbidden love. Elina’s tender response adds an ethereal counterpoint, culminating in a harmony-laden climax that feels both heavenly and haunting.

“It’s about the first time I ever felt like I was in love,” Kane shares. “But it wasn’t just a love song. It was a fully forbidden love-very complicated. My hormones were at an all-time high, and I was feeling so much. I picked up the guitar, wrote it, and it was done in 20 minutes.”

“Heartbeat For A Home” marks Kane’s first single of 2025 and signals a bold new era of independence and creative control. Having stepped away from the major label system, Kane is now fully immersed in the production process, shaping every detail of his sonic vision from the ground up.

“I’m getting back to the basics and core of who I am,” he says. “For too long, I lost faith in myself. Now I’m reclaiming that. I just want to be real with everything I’ve felt-and this song is part of that.”

Kane’s fiercely honest storytelling and genre-blurring sound have resonated with a global audience, racking up billions of streams and spawning fan-favorite anthems like the Platinum-certified “I GUESS I’M IN LOVE” and Gold-certified “CHICKEN TENDIES.” With previous acclaim from Billboard, Forbes, GRAMMY.com, NME, and more, Clinton Kane has become known for music that doesn’t just tell a story-it lives one.

“Heartbeat For A Home” is not just a single-it’s a statement: Clinton Kane is creating on his own terms, and the result is breathtaking.

Rico Nasty Unleashes Fall ‘LETHAL’ Tour Across North America

Rico Nasty has announced a Fall North American headline tour in support of her new album LETHAL, out now via Fueled by Ramen (Atlantic Music Group). The tour kicks off on Sept 19th at Chicago’s Riot Fest and ends Nov 4th in Los Angeles at The Fonda. Tickets on-sale this Friday, June 13th at 10am local time.

Always the rap world’s biggest rock star, Rico Nasty is known for her own particular brand of rage-rap and for her outrageous on-stage, online, volume-up persona. But as she grew up, she started to feel trapped by the character she created.

LETHAL is a reckoning of who Rico is at 27 with the trap-pop teen persona she created more than a decade ago. Executive produced by GRAMMY nominated producer Imad Royal, the album still features all the hallmarks of a Rico Nasty record – female rage, heavy guitars, humor – but there are also notes of femininity, introspection and a more complex framing of all the angles of Rico – the performer, the mother, the adult.

Alongside the new record, Rico will make her acting debut in Apple TV+ & A24’s Margo’s Got Money Troubles, created by David E. Kelley and based on the 2024 novel by Rufi Thorpe. Rico will star alongside Elle Fanning, Michelle Pfieffer, Nicole Kidman, Nick Offerman, Lindsey Normington & more.

Briston Maroney Drops Psychedelic “Tomatoes” Video From Explosive New Album ‘JIMMY’

1

Briston Maroney releases the music video for the fan-favorite song “Tomatoes.” From his newest album JIMMY, released last month, “Tomatoes” maintains an unconventional, gritty sound that explores the psyche of adrift young adults.

The video encapsulates a psychedelic take on the dazed and confused purgatory that is post-adolescent adulthood. The video was directed by Amalia Irons, who Maroney collaborated with for his “Better Than You” music video, the album’s current focus track.

JIMMY is the new record from Maroney — a guitar-heavy, explosive and engrossing project released last month via Atlantic Records. Earlier this year, Maroney teased the record with his first single “Real Good Swimmer,” a masterful and magnetic rock song over which Maroney presents a snapshot of the people who he grew up knowing. He followed the track with a double release of “Tomatoes” and “Bullsh*t,” two songs depicting two worlds at work.

Maroney currently boasts a catalog with over 500 million streams and over 2 million monthly listeners. He is currently on tour with Peach Pit for their co-headline Long Hair, Long Life Tour. Having already performed at New York’s Pier 17, and Colorado’s Red Rocks Amphitheater, Maroney is on track to perform at the beloved Los Angeles’ Greek Theatre and the MGM Music Hall at Fenway in Boston.

Christopher Cross’s “Ride Like The Wind” Gets First-Ever Music Video, Celebrating a Timeless Classic

0

Seeker Music, the songwriter-led music rights, publishing, and record company, is releasing a music video for Christopher Cross’s iconic debut single “Ride Like The WindtodayJune 10th. Originally released in 1979, just before the dawn of MTV, the platinum-selling track’s first official music video comesmore than four decades after it first hit the airwaves, affirming Cross’s place as a timeless artist whose work continues to resonate across generations. The project also marks the creation of Seeker’s first ever original music video for a track in their catalog.

Starring Rainey Qualley, Sadie Scheufler, Syd Kilroy, and Kandia Nzinga, directed by Andrea Calvetti, and commissioned by Seeker Music, the music video channels the gritty spirit of 1970s carsploitation cinema. Drawing inspiration from cult classics like Zabriskie Point, Vanishing Point, and Two-Lane Blacktop, it pays tribute to a genre of filmmaking where the road was both a battleground and a metaphor for conflict and resistance.

Director Andrea Calvetti said, “With ‘Ride Like the Wind’, the goal was simple: to have fun, lean into the pulse of the track, and unleash that wild ’70s energy — muscle cars tearing through the desert, chasing something just out of reach. What makes me most proud is how we reimagined the genre’s legacy. This time, it’s an all-female cast behind the wheel — not passengers in someone else’s story, but drivers of their own wild ride.”

The video arrives on the heels of Seeker’s expanded edition of Christopher Cross—the GRAMMY-winning singer-songwriter’s self-titled 1979 debut album—which was released digitally on May 2, with a deluxe 2LP vinyl edition coming this summer. The reissue includes never-before-heard material such as early demos, Japan-only tracks, and fan treasures like “Mary Ann,” “Passengers,” and “Smiles of Angels,” all accompanied by new liner notes from acclaimed music journalist Gene Sculatti.

Since it was founded in 2020, Seeker Music has taken a unique approach to catalog acquisitions, identifying existing music with the most creative potential, and designing fresh strategies to get those songs heard in new and different ways, the way most companies only would for new artist campaigns. Since acquiring Christopher Cross’s catalog in 2023, Seeker has brought Cross’s catalog to all-time streaming highs through a series of creative campaigns, including the new music video, the Christopher Cross expanded edition, and the release of Cross’s original “Sailing” demo alongside a new version by Dutch pop artist Benny Sings. The company also recently acquired the publishing and production rights to the catalog of Michael Omartian, the hitmaker who produced Cross’s debut in 2024.

Talking Heads Release First-Ever “Psycho Killer” Music Video Starring Saoirse Ronan for 50th Anniversary

0

Talking Heads premiere the first ever music video for their classic song “Psycho Killer,” directed by acclaimed filmmaker Mike Mills (C’mon C’mon, Beginners) and starring Saoirse Ronan (Little Women, Lady Bird). The release also marks the 50th anniversary of the Talking Heads’ live debut at CBGB on June 5, 1975, when they opened for the Ramones.

The music video follows a young woman (Ronan) unraveling while stuck in her daily routine. She moves through the same unchanging settings—bedroom, kitchen, office, car—while becoming a different version of herself each day. Her outfits loop across the days in a steady visual rhythm, as her emotions veer wildly from content to furious to numb and spiral into sudden outbursts or haunted silences. Mills’ disquieting portrait of isolation echoes the tension at the heart of the song.

“This video makes the song better- We LOVE what this video is NOT – it’s not literal, creepy, bloody, physically violent or obvious.” – Talking Heads

This album literally changed what was possible in life for me, so to get to play with the subversive, uncategorizable beauty of Talking Heads, and to play with Saoirse who brought so much surprise, power, vulnerability and mischief to the party, it’s one of the best things I ever got to be a part of – still can’t believe it actually happened.” – Mike Mills

To simply be mentioned in the same breath as Talking Heads is hands down one of the coolest things that has ever happened to me, let alone making a video with the singular Mike Mills to accompany one of their most iconic songs – ‘Psycho Killer’. I have grown up listening to their music, so this truly is a childhood/teenage/lifelong dream come true. Mike, myself and the rest of the creative team had so much fun making this, and I can’t wait for Talking Heads fans to see it!” – Saoirse Ronan

First released in 1977, “Psycho Killer” introduced Talking Heads to a wider audience and was the band’s first charting single. It remains a cornerstone of their legacy and is featured in countless films and playlists.

The video arrives amid the quartet’s yearlong 50th anniversary celebration. Formed in 1975, Talking Heads became one of the most influential bands to emerge from New York’s CBGB scene. A run of groundbreaking albums charted their evolution—from art-school minimalism into bold sonic and rhythmic experimentation—making them unlikely pop stars along the way. Critically and commercially successful, the band—Tina Weymouth, David Byrne, Chris Frantz, and Jerry Harrison—helped shape the language of modern music and expanded the creative possibilities of the music video.
