Celebrated guitarist and songwriter Mike Campbell (Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers, Fleetwood Mac) and his band The Dirty Knobs are debuting their new single āHeart of the Heartland;ā stream/share the track HERE.
āāHeart of the Heartlandā is a song Iām very proud of,ā notes Campbell. He goes on, āItās kind of like a travelogue through the middle of America. The music is very simple, but the lyrics refer to a lot of American landscapes and sentiments. Many of the images are drawn from things Iāve seen in my travels through the heartland over the years. It was also really fun to have strings on the song, thanks to Patrick Warrenās arrangement.ā
The track comes as the band kicks off their summer tour dates throughout Canada and the U.S. Upcoming dates include a pair of performances in Grand Rapids, MI with Chris Stapleton as well as a run of co-headlining shows with Blackberry Smoke and opener Shannon McNally across the Southeast; see below for a complete list of dates.
Campbell most recently released his New York Times Best Selling memoir Heartbreaker, written with Ari Surdoval, out now via Grand Central Publishing. The book continues to see extensive critical acclaim
