Five Finger Death Punch Joins Forces With Cody Jinks For Massive “20th Anniversary World Tour”

0

Five Finger Death Punch officially begins a massive 48-city amphitheater run this summer to celebrate two decades of heavy metal dominance. The “20th Anniversary World Tour” features a powerhouse lineup including Cody Jinks and Eva Under Fire as special guests. This extensive trek spans across North America starting July 20 at the Freedom Mortgage Pavilion in Camden and concludes on October 23 at Jiffy Lube Live in Bristow.

The band is utilizing this platform to provide financial assistance for U.S. athletes training for the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games in Los Angeles. A portion of every ticket sale goes directly toward high-performance programs for Team USA. Founding guitarist Zoltan Bathory noted the importance of private donations for American athletes since the government provides no formal funding for these training programs. This initiative ensures local competitors have the resources required to face fully funded international teams.

The tour showcases brand new material from the upcoming tenth studio album from Five Finger Death Punch. This record stands as a monumental achievement in their storied career. Fans get to experience these fresh tracks live alongside the hits that built a legacy of nearly two million tickets sold globally. The setlist integrates the high-octane energy of the new songs with the established anthems that define the band’s sound.

Tickets for all dates go on sale January 16 at 10 a.m. local time through Live Nation. The itinerary includes iconic stops at Red Rocks Amphitheatre on September 8 and the Michelob ULTRA Arena in Las Vegas on September 19. The group moves through major markets like Toronto, Chicago, Houston, and Atlanta before the final October stretch through the Carolinas and Virginia.

25 Facts You May Not Know About John Forté

0

The music world feels a little quieter today as we mourn the sudden passing of John Forté at the age of 50. John was far more than just a musician; he was a polymath who seamlessly bridged the gap between the gritty streets of Brooklyn and the refined halls of academia.

Rising to prominence as a vital collaborator with The Fugees, John helped shape the sound of a generation, earning a Grammy nomination at just 21 for his work on the legendary album The Score. His career was a testament to resilience—navigating the heights of superstardom, the depths of a federal prison sentence, and a triumphant return to the world as an educator, activist, and visionary producer. John’s life was a symphony of complex movements, defined by his intellectual curiosity and his unwavering belief in the power of second chances.

  1. Orchestral Beginnings: At age eight, he chose to learn the violin simply because the line for rock band instruments at his Brooklyn elementary school was too long.
  2. Ivy League Preparation: He graduated from the prestigious Phillips Exeter Academy in New Hampshire in 1993.
  3. Hip-Hop Roommates: While studying music business at NYU, he was roommates with future rap icon Talib Kweli.
  4. Industry Roots: Before his own fame, he worked as an A&R executive at the underground hip-hop staple Rawkus Records.
  5. The Discovery: He was introduced to The Fugees by Lauryn Hill in the early 1990s.
  6. Early Accolades: He was only 21 years old when he received his first Grammy nomination for The Score.
  7. Chart Success: He partnered with Pras for the Top 40 hit “Avenues” from the Money Talks soundtrack.
  8. Vivaldi Fan: Throughout his life, he maintained a deep love for classical music, specifically the works of Antonio Vivaldi.
  9. Solo Debut: His first solo album, Poly Sci (1998), was produced by Wyclef Jean.
  10. A “Crush” of Styles: Spin magazine famously described his debut album as a “crush between academia and street life.”
  11. The Godmother Connection: Legendary singer Carly Simon became a mentor and “spiritual godmother” to him, fighting tirelessly for his freedom.
  12. Recorded Under Pressure: His 2001 album, I, John, was recorded while he was awaiting trial for drug charges.
  13. Unlikely Collaborations: That same album featured an eclectic mix of guests, including Herbie Hancock, Esthero, and Tricky.
  14. Presidential Clemency: His 14-year sentence was commuted by President George W. Bush in 2008, with help from Senator Orrin Hatch.
  15. A Prolific Return: After his release from prison, he recorded over 50 songs and played over 100 shows in a very short span.
  16. Professor Forté: In 2009, he began a teaching position at the City College of New York.
  17. Cinema Sound: His music appeared in several films, including Just Wright, Night Catches Us, and Stomp the Yard 2: Homecoming.
  18. Sundance Staples: In 2010, he scored all of the opening trailers for the Sundance Film Festival.
  19. Digital Pioneer: He collaborated on a unique audio-visual project with actor Joseph Gordon-Levitt on the platform hitrecord.org.
  20. From Brooklyn to Russia: In 2011, he embarked on a massive 9-week tour across Russia, traveling via the Trans-Siberia Railway.
  21. Philanthropy: All proceeds from his Russian tour were donated to local orphanages and the Happy Hearts Fund.
  22. Sports Anthem: He composed the song “Brooklyn: Something to Lean On” as an anthem for the Brooklyn Nets.
  23. YouTube Legacy: That same Nets anthem became the unofficial theme song for the late YouTube creator Etika.
  24. TV Scoring: He wrote the theme song for the CBS News documentary series Brooklyn DA.
  25. Final Works: His later career saw the release of two deeply personal albums, Riddem Drive (2020) and Vessels, Angels & Ancestors (2021).

The Contest has been a music career launching pad for Grammy award-winning artists like Fantastic Negrito and Tank and the Bangas.

New artists can submit their Tiny Desk Contest videos HERE.

The submission window opened today, January 13, 2026, at 10 a.m. ET, and runs through Monday, February 9, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. ET.

Read the complete entry rules here.

A panel of judges  NPR Music producers, member station hosts, musicians, and industry professionals  will determine the winner. This year’s lineup includes:

“It’s such an honor and sincere joy to get to spend time with so many beautifully creative artists who send in their work. I honestly can’t wait to hear and see this year’s entries, and to see where it takes us.” says Robin Hilton.

Though there can only be one grand prize winner each year, many other artists who submit will be featured on NPR Music’s social media accounts, YouTube channel, NPR’s broadcast news programs, and in the Tiny Desk Contest newsletter. By submitting to the Contest, artists also benefit from joining a nationwide supportive community of thousands of independent musicians.

Contest judges will highlight outstanding entries in episodes of NPR Music’s Tiny Desk Contest Top Shelf livestream series on YouTube. This year, the Tiny Desk Contest Fan Favorite returns, inviting Tiny Desk enthusiasts to cast their votes for their top choice among the showcased Top Shelf videos. Keep an eye out for more news about the Fan Favorite voting process later this spring.

The Tiny Desk Contest has proven to be a significant launchpad for emerging artists, offering benefits such as increased industry visibility, major festival headlining opportunities, and major label signings. Recent winners illustrate this impact: The Philharmonik, the 2024 winner, successfully completed an international tour last summer. More recently, 2025 winner Ruby Ibarra headlined the Houston Filipino Street Festival and is set to release a new album in 2026. A notable earlier success story is 2017 winner, Tank and The Bangas, who went on to win a Grammy for their three-part project, The Heart, The Mind, and The Soul.

NPR Music welcomes music from all genres and encourages entrants from previous years to submit new material. To enter the Contest, unsigned musicians must be 18 years old and live in the United States, the District of Columbia, the U.S. Virgin Islands, or Puerto Rico. Since the Tiny Desk concert series launched in 2008, more than 1,400 performances have been recorded in front of the Tiny Desk bookshelves, which are adorned with years of music souvenirs and memorabilia. Tiny Desk concerts attract 17 million monthly viewers and unify a passionate community around the love of music discovery. The series has provided a unique stage for artists across the genre spectrum and at every phase of their careers, including Usher, Sabrina Carpenter, Ca7riel y Paco Amoroso, Cece Winans, Dua Lipa, Daniel Caesar, Fred Again, Bad Bunny, Wet Leg, the cast of Sunset Boulevard, and many, many more.

BTS Announce Record Breaking 79-Date World Tour And New Studio Album Coming This March

0

Pop Royalty BTS announce their long-awaited return to the global stage with their world tour spanning 2026-2027. Set to be the biggest global K-pop tour of all time, and the largest of their career to date, the run will span 34 regions and 79 shows, featuring first-ever performances in several cities and marking a historic new chapter for the group and their global fanbase, ARMY.

The highly anticipated 70+ date tour, promoted by Live Nation, kicks off Thursday, April 9, with BTS performing for three nights together in Goyang, South Korea before heading to Tokyo, Japan. From there, the tour moves to North America where the group will perform in Tampa, FL for the first time on April 25 and 26, launching the run with back-to-back nights at Raymond James Stadium before continuing across North America, Europe, and the UK. The tour features multi-night stadium stops in all cities including Mexico City, Las Vegas, London, Paris, East Rutherford, Toronto, Chicago, Los Angeles and more.

This fall, BTS will then bring their tour to Latin America and Asia, with stops planned in Bogotá, São Paulo, Kaohsiung, Bangkok, Singapore, and more — including first-ever performances in Bogotá, Buenos Aires, and Kaohsiung. The group will then return to Australia early next year for a run of shows across Melbourne and Sydney. Venue details and ticket information for the Latin America, Asia, and Australia dates will be shared at a later date.

Notably, the tour will feature a 360-degree, in-the-round stage design — a first for a K-pop stadium tour. The immersive setup places the audience at the center of the experience while allowing for increased capacity at every venue.

These shows mark BTS’ first headline performances as a group since their celebrated 2021–2022 ‘PERMISSION TO DANCE ON STAGE’ tour, which spanned 12 shows across Seoul, Las Vegas, and Los Angeles. As one of the first K-pop groups to achieve true global crossover success and shatter attendance and gross records worldwide, BTS continue to redefine what’s possible for the genre with this massive stadium tour.

The BTS World Tour also brings historic firsts across multiple markets. BTS will play Sun Bowl Stadium in El Paso, TX and Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, MA — marking the first and largest headline K-pop concerts ever held in both cities. The group will also become just the second musical act to perform at Stanford Stadium in Stanford, CA, following Coldplay’s inaugural shows last year.

Additionally, the tour marks BTS’ first-ever performances in Madrid and Brussels, the first K-pop shows at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, TX and M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore, and the group’s debut at London’s iconic Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, further cementing the tour as one of the most significant tours of 2026.

BTS, an acronym of Bangtan Sonyeondan or “Beyond the Scene,” are a GRAMMY-nominated South Korean boyband that has been capturing the hearts of millions of fans globally since their debut in June 2013. The members of BTS are RM, Jin, SUGA, j-hope, Jimin, V, and Jung Kook. Gaining recognition for their authentic and self-produced music, top-notch performances, and the way they interact with their fans, the band has established themselves as 21st century pop icons breaking countless world records. While imparting a positive influence through activities such as the LOVE MYSELF campaign and the UN ‘Speak Yourself’ speech, the band has mobilized millions of fans across the world (named ARMY), collected six No.1 Billboard Hot 100 singles since 2020, and performed multiple sold-out stadium shows across the world. They were also named TIME’s Entertainer of the Year 2020. BTS are 5-time GRAMMY nominees (63rd to 65th GRAMMY Awards) and have been recognized with numerous prestigious awards like the Billboard Music Awards, American Music Awards (Artist of the Year 2021) and MTV Video Music Awards. In June 2025, BTS were fully reunited as all seven members returned from their military service. The band will unveil new music in the spring of 2026, signaling a return set to be etched in pop culture history.

Grupo Bryndis, Industria Del Amor, And Guardianes Del Amor Unite For The Historic “Romanticos Forever Tour 2026”

0

Three renowned names in Mexican music, Grupo Bryndis, Industria Del Amor, and Guardianes Del Amor are joining forces for the “Romanticos Forever Tour 2026,” a 2026 U.S. run that marks the first full U.S. tour in their history, both together and individually. After years of performing club-style shows across the country, the groups will now take the stage in some of the largest venues they have ever played in the States.

During their peak in the 1980s and 90s, Bryndis, Industria, and Guardianes stood at the forefront of the grupero movement, shaping an entire era of Mexican music with their distinctive sound, storytelling, and timeless romantic ballads. Their influence spans generations, uniting fans who grew up with their music and a new wave discovering the genre’s resurgence today.

Promoted by Live Nation, the Románticos Tour will bring the bands to major cities across the country, beginning April 4 in San Jose, CA, with stops in Los Angeles, El Paso, Denver, New York, Atlanta, Houston, and more before concluding June 5 in Indianapolis, IN. It is the first time in their careers that all three groups will tour together and the first time any of them will headline a U.S. tour of this scale.

TICKETS: Tickets will be available starting with the general on sale beginning Thursday, January 15 at 10am local time at LiveNation.com
