John K Releases “Honey” And Announces ‘SALT + LIGHT’ Tour Ahead Of Third Studio Album

0

John K announces the SALT + LIGHT Tour: Part 1. The 21 date North American run kicks off on July 31 in Seattle, WA at Barboza with stops across San Francisco, Los Angeles, Chicago, Toronto, New York City, Atlanta, and more, before wrapping on August 31st in John’s hometown of Orlando, FL at The Social.

Tickets for the tour will be available starting with an artist pre-sale on May 7 at 10 AM local time, while a Spotify pre-sale begins May 8 at 10 AM local time. Tickets will be on-sale to the public on Friday, May 9 at 10 AM local time.

The tour supports John K’s upcoming third studio album, due for release this year. The artist recently kicked the era off into high gear with the release of his recent single “Honey.” The acclaimed track boasts an effortless display of the artist’s versatility that showcases the best of his songwriting bonafides.

John’s steady foray back into action has invigorated his global audience, which was solidified by an inspiring run of success over the last few years. In just a few short years, John achieved an opening role on the international One Republic Tour, toured with Marc E Bassy, sold out a crowd of 15,000-plus in Korea (where he is now a beloved pop star), and racked up over 1.3 billion streams of his material. His 2019 break-out single “if we never met” went multi-platinum, and he released two albums over the course of 2020 and 2021. Most recently, John K began to tease this new era of his artistry with the 2024 single “LOST,” written before the birth of his second child.

Now, as he charges towards his anticipated third album, John reflects on the road to this point. “I’ve grown into becoming a father and a husband, and my music has truly grown with me,” he says. “The goal is still timeless, classic, and story-driven songwriting, but I write from my heart not only for myself-but for my wife and my growing family as well.”

Eddie Valero Releases “Zombies” Ahead Of Gritty New Album ‘Gangsta Blues’

0

Steeped in the traditions of his musical hometown, Memphis rapper Eddie Valero has been grinding his whole life for his opportunity to shine. Today, the rising rapper releases “Zombies,” a simmering new single. “Zombies” nods to the horrorcore that has long permeated Memphis’s rap underground, dripping with haunting keys and lifted by crisp hi-hats. Eddie slides into the pocket with ease, weaving drawly syllables between sampled ad-libs and establishing himself as his city’s supreme hustler, with diamonds that dance like TikToks and candy-colored Forgiatos.

“Zombies” is the first glimpse of Gangsta Blues, Eddie Valero’s next project. A high-octane pack of 11 tracks, the project harkens back to all eras of Memphis music, from the country-fried underground rap of the 90s, to the hustle-hard anthems of recent years, reaching all the way back to the blues that made Beale Street famous. Eddie Valero positions himself as an heir to that formidable musical tradition, using his lyrics to process his trauma and tout his many triumphs, using his virtuosity as a weapon in the same way that Memphis bluesmen like B.B. King once did. Featuring guest appearances from kindred spirit Starlito and Memphis legend 8Ball (of 8Ball & MJG), and production from heavy-hitters like BandPlay, Gangsta Blues arrives on May 23rd via ONErpm.

Born and raised in Memphis, Eddie Valero has built a large audience in his city and beyond the hard way, never compromising his style and eschewing high-profile co-signs on his route to local legend status. Growing up in awe of his city’s OGs, Eddie worked hard at his craft, using his expert beat selection and gritty storytelling to grow his following to over 60k YouTube subscribers. Always confident fans would find him, he started his signature mixtape series, Until They Feel Me, in 2021, releasing 4 installments in all, featuring local hits like “Lero BandPlay” (1.38 million Spotify streams) his hard-hitting collab with the PRE-signed producer. In 2023, he dropped “Flex N Go” with JpOnTheTrack, racking up over 2.5 million YouTube views in the process, and he followed in 2024 with the Undefeated mixtape. Most recently, Eddie shared Just For Y’all, a no frills street tape featuring the buzzing single “Money Locked In.” Later this month, Eddie Valero hits the road, opening for Don Trip & Starlito on their “Step Brothers 4 Life Tour.”

With Gangsta Blues on the way, Eddie Valero is ready to become Memphis’s next big thing. Stay tuned for more.

Baxter Dury Releases “Allbarone” Ahead Of Paul Epworth-Produced Ninth Studio Album

0

Baxter Dury is pleased to announce his ninth studio album Allbarone which will be released on Heavenly Recordings on September 12. The album was produced by Paul Epworth (Adele, Florence & The Machine), his first album he’s worked on in over five years.

It was Sunday June 28, 2024 and Baxter had just stepped off stage after a rapturously received set on The Park Stage at Glastonbury festival. After towelling himself down, a familiar figure approached him backstage. It was Paul Epworth, the lauded producer / songwriter whose creations have draped themselves across the airwaves of the 21st century more successfully than other Briton.

They agreed to meet back in Epworth’s North London Church Studios in late November, not long after Baxter had finished touring his last album. Their first day in the studio working on this new solo record was an eye-opener for Baxter, though, and not just because of the comfortable surroundings of The Church which has hosted the likes of Frank Ocean and Adele (“incredible place, all this glistening fruit and catered sushi, I felt like the bloke from Trading Places, stuffing it down my sleeves.”).

Together they dreamt up Allbarone’s nine-track tour-de-force, stripping everything away and building Baxter’s most melodically direct, futuristic collection in intense three-hour daily shifts throughout December and January.

Baxter on “Allbarone”: “This is the first track that Paul Epworth and I made and it quickly established why it was a good idea that we were working together. It’s a song about sitting in the rain outside an All Bar One contemplating why what just happened, happened in the way it did.”

“It’s kind of a character arc that goes through the whole thing, two personalities,” he explains. “It’s very critical of people, this album, whoever they are, maybe some bloke with a moustache and sockless loafers in Shoreditch or a fat old Chiswick gangster lording it up in a really comfortable middle class part of London”

“I don’t want to say it’s contemporary,” he summarizes. “Because I sound like a cunt using that word. But it does sound really contemporary. It doesn’t sound like a Harrods hamper band made it. It doesn’t sound like a band made it all. Which is what I wanted most of all. It’s just something that’s brand new for me. It’s quite exciting, really.”

Which in Baxter Dury-speak is as good as proclaiming “I’m top of the world!”

The Oak Ridge Boys Release Heartfelt Video for “Come On Home” Ahead of Mother’s Day

0

GRAMMY Award winners and Country Music Hall of Fame inductees The Oak Ridge Boys are proud to unveil the official video for their most recent single, “Come On Home,” from their current album, Mama’s Boys, released by Lightning Rod Records/Thirty Tigers.

The video, which premiered online by Whiskey Riff, was primarily filmed at the home of William Lee Golden and beautifully showcases The Oak Ridge Boys’ enduring connection with family values. “Come On Home” offers a touching tribute to faith and family and is a comforting reminder that no matter where life takes you, you are always welcome home-especially by your “mama.”

The “Come On Home” music video will make its television premiere on The Heartland Network’s ‘Country Music Today,’ Thursday, May 8 at 5:30 pm ET/PT. It will also air on the networks’ livestream at 5:30 PM ET and on the free It’s Real Good TV app. (www.itsrealgoodtv.com)

“Our mothers were always our biggest supporters,” shares William Lee Golden. “There’s nothing that compares to a mother’s love. Honoring our mothers with this album felt very important and releasing the video for ‘Come On Home’ in time for Mother’s Day made sense. And, if you watch closely, you’ll spot our good friend and fellow Country Music Hall of Famer, Jimmy Fortune of The Statler Brothers, playing Ben’s father. The video was directed by Brandon Wood / IndieBling.”

Alex Miller Releases Video for “The Byrd” Featuring Country Legend Tracy Byrd on CMT

0

CMT MUSIC hosted the broadcast debut of Alex Miller’s “The Byrd” on Monday and it is now spinning across the 24-hour music channel. The honky-tonkin’ performance-forward video prominently features Country icon Tracy Byrd.

The video, produced and directed by Steve Kinney (Kinney Entertainment), was filmed at several Nashville area locations and ably captured the great “buddy” dynamic between Miller and Byrd. In between barn-based performance shots, there are plenty of scenes that include pickup trucks, guitars and girls. The cast features Meredith Kelley (female lead), Luke McQueary (Guitar), Colman Conley (Piano), Jordan Fleming (Bass), and Mark Laws (Drums). Great music and beer pong at the neighbor’s party are all that are needed to ensure that the “live it large” attitude prevails.

Miller co-wrote the tune with his producer and hit songwriter Jerry Salley, and it is already impacting at both Country and Texas radio stations.

André 3000 Releases Instrumental Piano Collection ‘7 Piano Sketches’ Following Met Gala Appearance

0

Andre 3000 has released 7 piano sketches, a collection of instrumental music recorded solo on the piano. This is the first release of new material since his globally lauded 2023 instrumental album, New Blue Sun, earned three GRAMMY nominations, including Album Of The Year.

The new music was released on Epic Records, at 8pm EST, shortly after Andre arrived at the Met Gala in New York City where he wore a bespoke piano creation by Burberry in collaboration with benji bixby and styled by Law Roach, as part of the Met Gala’s Superfine: Tailoring Black Style themed event celebrating craftsmanship, structure, Black history, and the evolution of dandyism. The event also marks the debut of benji bixby, an evolution of Andre’s beloved late 00s fashion line, Benjamin Bixby.

Partially composed and recorded prior to New Blue Sun, the beginnings of 7 piano sketches came about almost a decade ago, whilst staying in a house in Texas with his son that had only a piano, their beds and TV screens. Having lived with the recordings for a time, AndrE was drawn to the idea of creating more and sharing them in the Spring, a time of year that promises that life, creativity, and possibility are ever-renewing.

Says Andre of the recordings: “The original title for it was ‘The Best Worst Rap Album In History’ and here is an excerpt from the original liner notes:

‘It’s jokingly the worst rap album in history because there are no lyrics on it at all. It’s the best because it’s the free-est emotionally and best I’ve felt personally. It’s the best because it’s like a palette cleanser for me.'”

It was recently announced that Andre will receive an Honorary Degree of Doctor of Music from Berklee College of Music on May 10th as part of their graduating Class Of 2025. In November, he will be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame alongside his Outkast bandmate BigBoi.

Burton Cummings Releases Tour Dates for ‘A Few Good Moments’ North American Run

0

Burton Cummings, lead singer of The Guess Who and successful solo artist, announces a North American tour beginning this summer. The tour, which includes festival dates along with headlining shows, will feature songs from Burton’s latest album, A Few Good Moments, along with hits from The Guess Who and his solo career.

In 1964, a 16-year-old Cummings released two singles as a member of The Deverons. Two years later, he joined The Guess Who. It was with The Guess Who that Cummings’ signature vocals, along with his songwriting and keyboard prowess would fuel massively big hits around the world including “These Eyes,” “No Time,” “Laughing” and their biggest hit “American Woman,” the latter topping the Billboard Hot 100 chart for three weeks in 1970. When the band broke up in 1975 Cummings would find solo success with “Stand Tall,” an international smash which spent 21 weeks on Billboard Hot 100 topping out at #10.

Burton Cummings is a candidate for Canada’s most beloved rock ‘n’ roll son, that rare artist who transcends time, genres, and generations with a body of work that continues to resonate with fans both old and new. As lead singer and songwriter for Canada’s original rock ‘n’ roll superstars, The Guess Who, Cummings scored an unprecedented string of international hit singles including “These Eyes,” “No Time,” and the chart-topping “American Woman.” During the course of its legendary career, the band released 11 studio albums, with 1970’s American Woman reaching #1 in Canada and the top 10 in the United States. The Guess Who charted more than thirty Top 40 singles in Canada along with 14 in the US, including “American Woman” which went all the way to #1.

Beginning his career as a solo artist in 1976, Cummings continued his winning streak with his RIAA Gold-certified solo debut single, “Stand Tall,” produced by legendary hitmaker Richard Perry (Barbra Streisand, Carly Simon, Ringo Starr). He followed his inaugural solo success with more than a dozen hit singles and albums along with sold-out tours across Canada and the United States. Between 1977 and 1980, Cummings earned five Juno Awards for “Best Male Vocalist” and “Best Album,” serving as host of the annual Juno Awards gala a record four times. In 1978, his third solo album, Dream of a Child, became the first 4x Platinum-selling album by a Canadian artist.

Cummings continued to tour through the ‘80s and ‘90s, including a stint in Ringo Starr’s first All Starr Band. He also launched his acclaimed “Up Close and Alone” solo concert series which saw him alone onstage recounting stories behind his best-known songs and sharing personal moments from his career. A live album of the same name followed.

Cummings stands tall as Canadian rock ‘n’ roll royalty, a living legend who remains true to himself and his own way to rock. Now, with A Few Good Moments, Cummings continues at the top of his game as performer, singer, songwriter, and recording artist.

Joe Perry Releases Tour Dates for ‘The Joe Perry Project’ Featuring Members of Aerosmith, STP, and The Black Crowes

0

AEROSMITH guitarist and songwriter JOE PERRY is set to return to the road for a series of August performances with THE JOE PERRY PROJECT. The eight‑date run kicks off August 13 in Tampa, FL, and wraps August 23 in Port Chester, NY, with an August 19 performance in PERRY’s Boston hometown (see itinerary below). For the North American trek—which marks PERRY’s first solo shows this year—the legendary guitarist will be joined by his Aerosmith bandmates Brad Whitford (guitar) and Buck Johnson (keys), along with The Black Crowes’ Chris Robinson (vocals) and Stone Temple Pilots’ Robert DeLeo (bass) and Eric Kretz (drums).

“Well… it’s time to let the music do the talkin’ again,” PERRY says. “I’m really excited about the JPP lineup this year! Most of these guys played with me at The Roxy in L.A. for the debut event of my latest solo album [Sweetzerland Manifesto] in January 2018. They’re all busy as hell, but thankfully they’re able to carve out some time for this run. And I’m not only lucky enough to have Brad Whitford onstage with me, but also Chris Robinson of The Black Crowes [who sang ‘Fortunate One’ on Sweetzerland Manifesto MKII], Robert DeLeo and Eric Kretz from STP, and Buck Johnson, who plays keys and sings with Aerosmith and the Hollywood Vampires—and is also a solo artist in his own right.”

For the shows, the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee says, “The set list is gonna include my favorite JPP cuts, STP, Black Crowes, and—with Brad—we’ll be hitting the Aero hits and some deep cuts. And you never know! Gonna be a blast. If you’ve ever been to one of my shows, the words ‘garage band on steroids’ come to mind! See you there!”

The JPP’s eight‑date North American run will take them from Florida up to New York:

Wednesday, August 13 – Tampa, FL at Seminole Hard Rock – Tampa

Thursday, August 14 – Hollywood, FL at Seminole Hard Rock – Hollywood

Saturday, August 16 – Toronto, ON at HISTORY

Sunday, August 17 – Muskoka, ON at Kee to Bala

Tuesday, August 19 – Boston, MA at Wang Theatre

Wednesday, August 20 – Hampton Beach, NH at Hampton Beach Casino Ballroom

Friday, August 22 – Mashantucket, CT at The Premier Theater at Foxwoods Resort Casino

Saturday, August 23 – Port Chester, NY at Capitol Theatre

As co‑founding member, principal songwriter, electrifying lead guitarist, and co‑producer of Aerosmith—America’s Greatest Rock & Roll Band—JOE PERRY has secured his place in rock history. Over five decades, he has helped drive Aerosmith to more than 150 million album sales, critical acclaim, four Grammy Awards (including the guitar‑based instrumental “Boogie Man”), and induction into both the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and the Songwriters Hall of Fame. Key milestones include 12 MTV Video Awards, two People’s Choice Awards, six Billboard Music Awards, eight American Music Awards, 23 Boston Music Awards, and an Academy Award nomination for Best Song (“I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing” from Armageddon).

In 2008, AEROSMITH made history with Guitar Hero: Aerosmith, marking the first music‑based game to feature a single band. As a solo artist, PERRY has released six albums, beginning with his 1980 debut Let the Music Do the Talking (Billboard #47). His most recent solo releases are SWEETZERLAND MANIFESTO (2018) and SWEETZERLAND MANIFESTO MKII (2023), which features six alternate‑vocal tracks and mixes.

Since 2012, PERRY has also been a member of the Hollywood Vampires, alongside Alice Cooper and Johnny Depp, releasing Hollywood Vampires (2015), Rise (2019), and Live in Rio (2023). In 2014, he published ROCKS: My Life In and Out of Aerosmith (Simon & Schuster) with David Ritz. The memoir debuted on The New York Times bestseller list and was supported by a cross‑country book tour, including in‑store appearances in New York, Boston, Chicago, San Francisco, Phoenix, Los Angeles, and at The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland. PERRY also appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Conan, CBS This Morning, Fox & Friends, Tavis Smiley, Larry King, and on national radio with Howard Stern and Imus In The Morning, and personally narrated the audiobook.

Vince Guaraldi Releases Complete Soundtrack for ‘You’re a Good Sport, Charlie Brown’—First-Ever Peanuts Zoetrope LP

0

LMFP is thrilled to announce the first-ever release of Vince Guaraldi’s complete soundtrack for You’re a Good Sport, Charlie Brown, the timeless 14th animated Peanuts special, from writer and creator Charles Schulz, director Phil Roman, and producers Bill Melendez and Lee Mendelson. Originally airing fifty years ago on October 28th, 1975, on CBS-TV, the special went on to win the Emmy for Outstanding Children’s program. The special is currently available for streaming on Apple TV+.

The full soundtrack album includes the original 16 cues that comprise the score of the special – mixed into 14 tracks – plus a bonus track melding two of the intended opening cues left off the special. Additionally, the album features four bonus tracks from Bicycles are Beautiful, a film that Guaraldi scored for LMFP in 1974. Vince Guaraldi composed all 19 tracks on the album.

This is the first time Peanuts animation has appeared on a Zoetrope album. When the record plays at 45RPM, scenes from the special come to life. The action from the cartoon plays right along with the music on your turntable.

Highlights of the album include the title track, and fresh takes on classics like “Peppermint Patty” and “Linus and Lucy.” “Motocross” is the special’s central theme, and all its variations from the show can be heard on this album.

FIRST PEANUTS® ZOETROPE ALBUM EVERFIRST PEANUTS ZOETROPE ALBUM EVER

The melodies can be fully appreciated on their own, not hidden underneath dialogue or effects from the special.

The album features Guaraldi (piano, electric piano, clavinet, ARP String Ensemble, and Rhythm Ace Drum Machine), Seward McCain (bass), Mark Rosengarden (drums and guiro), and John Scott Trotter as the music supervisor. The Bicycles are Beautiful bonus material features Guaraldi on electric keyboard, McCain (bass) and Glenn Cronkhite (drums). Both soundtracks were originally recorded at Wally Heider Studio, in San Francisco: Good Sport on September 12, 18-19, 1975, and Bicycles Are Beautiful on April 2, 1974. The soundtrack was produced by Sean Mendelson and Jason Mendelson; mixed at WonderWorld Studio by Grammy and Emmy Award-Winning mixing engineer Clark Germain, and restored and re-mastered by Vinson Hudson (who has mastered all the LMFP releases).

The 28-minute album will be available July 11th, 2025, on 12” 45 RPM Zoetrope Eco Mix LP Picture Disc, and on CD, and digitally. Pre-Order here now

The LPs are eco-minded: The vinyl, as much as is possible, is partially made from Eco Mix, wherein old records are ground up and reused to produce new records. The Eco Mix portions are carbon-neutral and made from 100% recycled vinyl. For more information about our sustainability efforts, please see LMFP’s website.

The physical copies include liner notes that give a track-by-track analysis by album producer Sean Mendelson, and notes from album producer, Jason Mendelson, sons of legendary Peanuts® producer Lee Mendelson. Derrick Bang, Guaraldi biographer and author of Vince Guaraldi at the Piano, continues the tradition of providing an historical essay for both the special and the soundtrack. Plus, Charles Schulz’ son Craig Schulz adds an essay about the special’s inspiration. The liner notes (vinyl: 4 page and CD: 12-page booklet) contain images from the special, rare photographs and a Peanuts comic strip.

I find the score for 1975’s “You’re a Good Sport, Charlie Brown” to be the most fascinating. The soundtrack is Guaraldi’s deepest exploration of synthesized music.” — From the liner notes by Sean Mendelson, producer of the album.

Derek Frank Releases Funk-Rock Throwdown “Barker’s Boogie” Ahead of Massive 2025 Tour

0

Out May 16, Virtuoso bassist and composer Derek Frank’s new instrumental “Barker’s Boogie” serves up a soulful fusion of funk, jazz, and blues-rock — anchored by his unmistakable low-end swagger. Packed with horns, gritty rhythm, and bluesy-rock flair, the track features fiery slide guitar from Johnny Stachela of The Allman-Betts Band/Duane Betts & Palmetto Motel.

A funk-forward homage to the horn-driven, envelope-filtered jams of the 1970s, “Barker’s Boogie” tips its hat to legends like The Brecker Brothers, Tower of Power, and Steely Dan. “I was particularly inspired by Steely Dan’s “Black Friday” and The Brecker Brothers’ “Inside Out,” Frank says. “I wanted that shuffle feel, and writing with Johnny in mind made total sense—it’s the perfect vehicle for his voice on slide guitar.”

Recorded live at Stagg Street Studios in Los Angeles, the single features a full-band lineup that brings the track’s raw energy to life: punchy bass, percussive keys, soulful horns, and a tight groove that hits hard. Stachela’s soaring slide melodies ignite the track, adding an edge that nods to both Southern rock and psychedelic funk.

The collaboration between Frank and Stachela was sparked during a recent blues session, where the chemistry was instant. “I had done a session for a blues record with Johnny a few weeks prior to this recording, loved his playing, and thought it would be really fun to feature him on something. Johnny’s tone and phrasing are just killer.”

Barker’s Boogie” also serves as a gritty departure from Frank’s more disco-leaning singles, like March’s “Goin’ Stagg,” offering a different taste of his deep-rooted musicality.

A respected solo artist with three critically acclaimed albums (Let the Games Begin, Eleven Years Later, Origin Story), Frank has built a stellar reputation on and off stage. When he’s not crafting his own funk-fueled soundscapes, he’s performing with music royalty—including tours with Shania Twain, Gwen Stefani, Air Supply, Shakira, and Kelly Clarkson.

At the beginning of May, Frank will spend a few weeks in New York performing with Kelly Clarkson on The Kelly Clarkson Show and select concerts before hitting the road this summer with Don Felder—the legendary Eagles guitarist and co-writer of classics like “Hotel California,” “Victim of Love,” and “Those Shoes.” The Brotherhood of Rock 40-date North American amphitheatre tour — featuring Felder, Kevin Cronin (former lead singer of REO Speedwagon), and Styx — kicks off May 28, 2025, in Greenville, South Carolina, and runs through August. The tour will make stops at MidFlorida Credit Union Amphitheatre (Tampa, FL), Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion (The Woodlands, TX), Fiddler’s Green Amphitheatre (Denver, CO), Toyota Pavilion at Concord (Concord, CA), Isleta Amphitheater (Albuquerque, NM), PNC Music Pavilion (Charlotte, NC), and Empower Federal Credit Union Amphitheater (Syracuse, NY), among others.

With “Barker’s Boogie,” Frank continues to prove he’s not only one of the most versatile bassists in the game—but also a dynamic composer capable of channeling the soul, sass, and swagger of a funk-rock era gone by.

Derek and his handpicked five- to seven-piece band craft an eclectic mix of funk, blues, soul, jazz, and southern rock, channeling the feel of vintage soundtrack music. His compositions are defined by tight arrangements, slinky grooves, and a deep sense of musical interplay that prioritizes taste and feel over flashy technique.

Frank’s solo work has earned praise from Bass Magazine, Guitar World Magazine, American Songwriter Magazine, Bass Player Magazine, Music Connection Magazine, and podcasts such as “Everyone Loves Guitar” and “The Bass Shed”. Additionally, he received a Hollywood Independent Music Award nomination for Best Instrumental Song. His work has drawn comparisons to Lettuce, Vulfpeck, Cory Wong, Snarky Puppy, Tedeschi Trucks Band, Karl Denson, and John Scofield.

Growing up in Pittsburgh, Frank’s passion for music was sparked by the TV shows, movies, and MTV culture of the ‘70s and ‘80s. His love for bass emerged unexpectedly when he picked up the instrument at a music store while waiting for a guitar lesson. That moment launched a lifelong career that would take him to Los Angeles, where he became one of the city’s most sought-after touring and session bassists.
