Joe Bonamassa Releases “Breakthrough” And Announces Genre-Blending New Album ‘Breakthrough’

0

In a career defined by evolution, Joe Bonamassa is ready to turn the page once again. The blues-rock virtuoso has just announced Breakthrough, his most adventurous and genre-blending studio album to date, out July 18th via his own J&R Adventures. At the heart of the announcement is the release of the album’s powerful title track-“Breakthrough”-a soulful, hard-hitting anthem about letting go, moving forward, and finding your fire again, available today on all streaming platforms.

Crafted across multiple continents and infused with a world’s worth of inspiration, Breakthrough marks a bold new chapter for Bonamassa-one that leans on fiery solos, emotionally rich storytelling, groove-driven arrangements, and stylistic exploration. Produced by long-time creative partner Kevin Shirley (Iron Maiden, The Black Crowes, Journey), the album was shaped by sessions in Greece, Egypt, Nashville, and Los Angeles, resulting in a vibrant sonic tapestry that shifts effortlessly from funky blues and Texas swing to acoustic ballads and swaggering hard rock.

“I think this album, Breakthrough, marks a shift in the styling of Joe Bonamassa’s recording output,” says Shirley. “While there are plenty of guitar solos on this record, his emphasis has been on songs primarily. Each time Joe undertakes a new recording project, he seems to access a different part of his vast library of music genre from the jukebox-in-his-head! This album is a round-the-world musical trip-from Little Feat funkiness to Texas swing, from hard rock power to acoustic singer/songwriter-style songs.”

The newly released single “Breakthrough,” co-written with long-time collaborator Tom Hambridge (Buddy Guy, ZZ Top, Lynyrd Skynyrd), captures the emotional core of the record-an uplifting anthem about transformation, persistence, and letting go of the weight that holds us back. With gritty vocals, melodic guitar lines, and lush instrumentation, the track embodies Bonamassa’s signature blend of power and finesse while ushering in a bold new direction.

Linkin Park Release New Single “Unshatter” Ahead Of ‘From Zero’ Deluxe Edition

0

Linkin Park reveal a new track entitled “Unshatter” out now via Warner Records. It’s the next unreleased track to be unlocked from the Deluxe Edition of their acclaimed album FROM ZERO, which lands on May 16.

Right out of the gate, a stomping groove sets the pace for “Unshatter.” Distorted guitar crunch and kinetic production lays the framework for Mike Shinoda’s signature wordplay and airtight cadence. He passes the mic to Emily Armstrong whose gritty delivery drives the refrain. “‘Unshatter’ was an early track we made while recording From Zero,” Shinoda explains. “Emily’s huge vocal in the bridge was one of the moments that gave us an indication of what was possible together.” Teeming with emotion and energy, it has all the makings of a LINKIN PARK staple and future live favorite.

It lands in the wake of “Up From The Bottom,” which has already generated over 24 million Spotify streams and counting as well as 16 million YouTube views on the music video. Earning acclaim, Revolver applauded, “It taps into the propulsive, pop-punk-ish and mid-tempo spirit of last year’s FROM ZERO single “The Emptiness Machine,” and likewise features piano embellishment and a bridge sporting turntables, 808 beats and more,” and NME hailed it as “ferocious” and “explosive.’

Next up, LINKIN PARK will headline and ignite the UEFA Champions League final Kick Off Show presented by Pepsi and UC3 on May 31st at the Munich Football Arena. Expect a setlist representing the best of their legacy, past and present.

Following unforgettable shows everywhere from Mexico to Tokyo, Jakarta, and beyond, the From Zero World Tour-produced by Live Nation-launches tomorrow April 26 in the U.S. Overall, it will see the band touch down on four continents. Anticipation has already reached fever pitch, resulting in 15 sellouts across the tour at legendary venues such as Wembley Stadium in London, Stade de France in Paris, and Boston’s TD Garden where a second date has been added for July 31 due to overwhelming demand. This massive global jaunt carries them through to the end of the year, concluding on November 11 in Brasilia, Brazil. Special guests Spiritbox, AFI, Architects, grandson, Jean Dawson, JPEGMAFIA, and PVRIS will join on select dates.

Sabaton Release New Single “Templars” And Announce Forthcoming 11th Album

0

BETTER NOISE MUSIC is proud and excited to announce the signing of the mighty Sabaton. Today, April 25, the #1 Global Power Metal Band and one of Sweden’s most successful bands have unveiled the single and video “Templars” as the first release from their forthcoming 11th studio album.

Along with the digital release of “Templars,” SABATON is offering their fans a special one-sided 12″ vinyl single which is limited to 1000 copies worldwide and set to be released on June 27. Watch the strikingly cinematic video, filmed at two massive historical fortresses in Serbia, below and pre-order the vinyl/stream/download the track here.

SABATON-Joakim Broden (vocals), Pär Sundström (bass), Chris Rörland (guitar), Thobbe Englund (guitar), Hannes, Van Dahl (drums)-have always had a signature focus on writing songs about historical battles, wars, and acts of heroism that have solidified their impact with their loyal and longtime fans. SABATON have accumulated more than three billion streams across all streaming platforms and almost two billion views on YouTube.

“‘Templars’ is the first song we wrote for our forthcoming album and it truly brings out the theatrical side of SABATON,” says bassist Pär Sundström. “From the moment we started working on it, we were overflowing with ideas on how to bring it to life on stage. We didn’t just want to play it-we wanted to show it!”

The video for “Templars” presents a fictionalized depiction of a possible last stand for the Knights Templar. The band members take on the roles of the last remaining Templars, sworn to protect the secrets of their order. The story unfolds as the Templars intercept a letter warning them of their impending arrest for heresy. Soon after, an enemy army arrives on their doorstep demanding their surrender on behalf of King Philip IV of France. Refusing to yield, the Templars choose to fight to the bitter end. One by one, they fall in battle until only a single warrior remains. In a final, desperate clash, he defeats the enemy commander before retreating to the keep. There, he makes the ultimate sacrifice, setting fire to the stronghold to ensure the secrets of the order are lost to history.

The video was filmed at two massive historical fortresses in Serbia (Belgrade Fortress within Kalemegdan Park and Smederevo Fortress), both of which provided a striking and authentic backdrop for the epic battle scenes. To ensure both realism and safety, the band enlisted a large group of experienced reenactors, many of whom had worked in film production before. Their expertise helped bring the fight sequences to life with remarkable accuracy. Shot over the course of two long, hot days, the production faced intense summer heat, adding to the challenges of filming, but also enhancing the raw energy of the battle scenes.

As Thobbe Englund had only just rejoined the band after his almost eight-year hiatus, his bandmates wanted to mark his return in a memorable way by making him the last Templar standing, tasked with one final, epic battle. Initially, the plan was for him to wear a helmet so that a stuntman could step in for the demanding fight scene. However, the stunt coordinator had a different idea. He decided to take on the fight alongside Thobbe himself. While the battle was carefully choreographed, moments of improvisation added to its intensity. Clad in 40 kilos of armor, the two clashed with such force that the impact rumbled like an earthquake. To make things even more challenging, the scene was filmed in the scorching summer heat, and Thobbe was battling a fever at the time. Yet, he powered through, delivering a performance that was nothing short of legendary-a fitting way to mark his triumphant return to SABATON.

“We’re truly excited to begin this new chapter with Better Noise Music,” Pär Sundström comments. “After exploring various record labels worldwide, we found Better Noise to be the perfect fit. As an independent label, they haven’t traditionally focused on our style of heavy metal, making this collaboration particularly exciting. We’re excited to see how this partnership develops, confident that they’re ready to embrace the challenge of working with a band that brings a unique sound to their roster.”

“We’re thrilled to welcome SABATON to our roster,” says Lexie Viklund, the label’s Director of A&R. “Their powerful music and storytelling have resonated with fans worldwide, and we’re eager to amplify their presence in the U.S. while continuing to grow their global impact.”

Charles Kelley Announces New Album ‘Songs For A New Moon’ And Releases Tracks “Run” And “Driving And Listening To Music”

0

Charles Kelley is stepping into a moodily-hazed midnight spotlight with his forthcoming solo album SONGS FOR A NEW MOON, set for release June 25. A project seeping with unbridled optimism and irresistible 80’s pop flair, SONGS FOR A NEW MOON marks a new chapter for Kelley, as the 16 tracks celebrate an age of renewed possibility and fresh perspective, both musically and in life. Produced mainly by Sam Ellis and Lindsay Rimes and with Kelley co-penning all the original songs, the album fully embraces a freeing sense of sonic abandon, as the richly textured digital grooves feature roaring saxophones, saccharine guitars and sky-high vocal stacks, pushing Kelley to new levels. Today, Kelley offers a set of tracks, the unabashed anthem “Run” captures the rush of a couple making their escape from the world, covered in syrupy guitars and anthemic vocals soared over a booming rhythmic pulse and “Driving And Listening to Music” shifts into high gear, with shimmering synth melodies and processed drums on a nostalgic, windows-down jam, reminiscing on an escape into the sunset.

“I’ve always loved really well-written, great ’80s pop, from Toto to Ambrosia, and I always just felt like no one gave it enough credit,” Kelley explains. “This is me wanting to explore a different sound and pull from influences I’ve had for the longest time – but I didn’t want to make an ’80s sounding record, and then throw a bunch of country ‘insurance’ on it. I almost feel like that would be an insult to the listener… I wanted to go all-in.”

“The album’s north star” (American Songwriter) “Can’t Lose You,” made a splash on the Adult Contemporary radio charts, with its radio debut charting at No. 26. Tracks like “Take Back Goodbye” infuse the urbane edge of new-wave pop with an effortless, laid-back vibe, while “Can’t Be Alone Tonight” explores the epic R&B feel pioneered by Boyz II Men, stirring haunting romantic memories with grand piano and digital beats. The one-last-time anthem “Kiss This Thing Goodbye” sees Kelley and producer Nathan Chapman go for a sexy, ravenous romp, and the propulsive “Angel Eyes” gets lost in hypnotic desire – with ’80s icon (and Lady A producer) Dann Huff laying down the guitar solo – while the velveteen plush of “Lost and the Lonely” offers a vibey retreat from heartbreak. Inclusive of covers of The Killers’ “Here With Me” and reimagination of Cyndi Lauper’s immortal “Time After Time,” the collection ends on the sentimental piano ballad “Look What We Did.”

“This is about as honest as I can be in my music, and I’m super proud and just grateful. I’ve been in a really positive life-is-good headspace, and I want to soak it up. I want to take this second chance and self discovery and stop being afraid,” Kelly admits. “A little bit of that unknown is what makes life fun – it’s scary, but good scary.”

1. Can’t Lose You (Charles Kelley, Lindsay Rimes, Michael Whitworth, Josh Kear)*
2. Covering My Tracks (Sam Ellis, Meg Mcree, Benjy Davis, Charles Kelley)~

Iam Tongi Releases Uplifting New Single “Sunshine” Ahead Of AAPI Heritage Month

0

“American Idol” Season 21 winner and Hawaii native, Iam Tongi, releases new track, “Sunshine,” today via 19 Recordings ahead of Asian American & Pacific Islander Heritage Month. Written by Tongi along with Tyler Cain and Johnny Reid, the song finds Tongi basking in positivity and feel-good warmth with a fusion of country and reggae sounds offering a dose of sonic Vitamin D to match his Hawaiian home.

Recorded in Nashville at Soultrain Sound Studios, Tongi says of the song, “Even though I just turned 20, I’ve had to face some pretty difficult times in my life. When I lost my dad a few years ago, it made me realize how short life is. It also made me take stock of what really matters. My mom is my biggest hero and inspiration, and she has always pushed me to be kind, work hard and be a better version of myself, no matter what.”

Tongi continues, “I wrote ‘Sunshine’ because I wanted to spread love, light and positivity to the world. Even when times are tough, you can find goodness around you.”

At just 18-years old when he auditioned, the Hawaiian born singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist won hearts around the world and brought Lionel Richie, Katy Perry and Luke Bryan, to tears with his emotional performance of James Blunt’s “Monsters,” dedicated to his father Rodney who had recently passed away – watch it HERE. The audition went on to become the most watched on the show’s YouTube with 36 million views. Tongi became the first Pacific Islander to win the series and went on to earn his first Billboard No. 1 on the Rock Digital Songs Sales Chart after releasing his debut single, “I’ll Be Seeing You”

Tongi is set to make his CMA Fest debut June 5 on the Dr Pepper Amp Stage as well as his Grand Ole Opry debut on June 11. He is currently on the road with dates across the U.S. through the summer and fall with more to be announced soon.

Grace Potter Releases “Losing You” Ahead Of Upcoming Album ‘Medicine’

0

Grammy-nominated musician Grace Potter released “Losing You,” the second single from her highly anticipated album Medicine which was produced by the legendary T Bone Burnett and due out May 30th via Hollywood Records.

In 2008, Potter went into the studio with T Bone Burnett and cut an album unlike any other in her wildly expansive body of work. Made with a wrecking crew of musical luminaries, the Burnett-produced LP captured Potter at a moment of profound metamorphosis, then wound up shelved.

She has now joined forces with Hollywood Records to unearth those recordings from deep in the vaults and release Medicine: a powerhouse album that’s equal parts archival gem and thrilling new addition to her extraordinary catalog.

“‘Losing You’ is one of the last songs I conjured before recording with T Bone. Once we got into the studio and I heard us all playing together, I fully understood the soundscape we were existing in.” Potter shares. “The demo I made had a ‘Midnight Rider’ vibe but, when we started to play, the band elevated it to a different atmosphere entirely and allowed my voice to soar and for the lyrics to cut in a deeper and a far more meaningful way.”

Arriving on the heels of her fifth solo album Mother Road-a 2023 LP that marked her most fiercely visionary work to date-Medicine came to life soon after the release of This Is Somewhere, the 2007 sophomore effort from her former band Grace Potter and the Nocturnals. After stumbling upon a video of Potter delivering an a cappella rendition of the title track from the band’s 2005 debut Nothing but the Water, Burnett didn’t hesitate when approached about working with Potter. Fresh off his widely celebrated turn as producer on Robert Plant and Alison Krauss’ Raising Sand, Burnett approached the project with a definitive plan for what would become Medicine.

Recorded at The Village Studios, Medicine strays far from the high-spirited roots-rock of Potter’s earliest work, bringing a shadowy intensity to her soul-baring songs of lust and longing and self-salvation. To carve out the sonic landscape envisioned for the album, Burnett enlisted his longtime collaborators Jim Keltner, bassist Dennis Crouch, guitarist Marc Ribot, and keyboardist Keefus Ciancia.

Over the course of its 12 songs, Medicine achieves a hypnotic power thanks to the charmed interplay between Potter’s shapeshifting voice and the sonic exploration of her collaborators. The tracklisting’s myriad high points include the title track, which has since become a staple in Potter’s notoriously transcendent live show, “If I Was from Paris,” the first song ever written on her iconic Gibson Flying V, and paradigm-shifting “Oasis,” as well as the original, never-before-heard versions of “Make You Cry” and “To Shore” and her latest single “Before the Sky Falls,” out now.

Potter is currently on tour throughout the U.S. and is set to perform the National Anthem at the 2025 Kentucky Derby at on May 3rd. The national anthem at Churchill Downs will be broadcast live as part of NBC’s Kentucky Derby coverage. This summer, she is set to join Chris Stapleton for select dates this summer, including two nights at Madison Square Garden.
