Mumford & Sons Confirm 32-Date North American Arena And Amphitheater Tour

0

Today, Mumford & Sons release their fifth album, RUSHMERE, and detail an extensive North American tour for later this year. Stream the album HERE.

Rushmere is the spot where Mumford & Sons first met in Wimbledon. And RUSHMERE is the beginning for Mumford & Sons’ next phase, and it follows an intense period of creativity for the trio.

RUSHMERE was produced in collaboration with the nine-time Grammy-winning producer Dave Cobb and recorded at RCA Studio A in Nashville, in Savannah, GA, and in Devon, U.K.

To coincide with the release, the band are excited to announce an arena and amphitheater tour of North America for later this year. The tour commences on June 5 in the city Bend, Oregon, and concludes a second leg at the CHI Health Center Arena in Omaha, Nebraska on October 26. The support acts include Japanese Breakfast, Gregory Alan Isakov, Michael Kiwanuka, Sierra Ferrell, Gigi Perez, Margo Price, Lucius, Madison Cunningham, Good Neighbours and Divorce. For a full list of dates and corresponding support artists, please see below.

Tickets for the North American tour go on-sale from Friday, April 4. For complete pre-sale and on-sale information, please visit www.mumfordandsons.com

Mumford & Sons have partnered with PLUS1 to support War Child. $1 from every ticket sold will help War Child to protect, educate, and stand up for the rights of children affected by war. https://www.warchild.org.uk/

The band’s U.K. arena tour this autumn sold out in under two hours, with two additional shows in Newcastle and Leeds added this week to meet fan demand. The trio will headline Radio 1’s Big Weekend in Liverpool in May.

Through four albums, Mumford & Sons have accumulated various awards for their work, notably two BRIT Awards, two Grammy Awards (including the prestigious Album of the Year), multiple chart-topping, multi-platinum album successes right across the globe, a string of festival headlining performances (including Glastonbury), and selling out arenas tour after tour (including their biggest numbers to date in the U.S. in conclusion of the Delta tour back in 2019). A distinctively Mumford & Sons sound has since influenced and inspired recent artists to find huge success in their own right. You’d be hard pressed to find too many acts that follow a similar career trajectory.

Since the band’s last album release, they’ve explored solo passions and reconnected with friends and past collaborators. During a particularly prolific run of recent songwriting inspiration, it’s led them back to the magic of where it all started for them in a leafy suburb of London.

Mumford & Sons are Marcus Mumford, Ben Lovett and Ted Dwane.

Lady Gaga Unveils ‘The MAYHEM Ball’ Tour with Dates Across North America, Europe and the UK

0

fter much anticipation, 14-time Grammy Award-winner Lady Gaga has officially announced ‘The MAYHEM Ball’ tour with dates across North America, Europe, and the UK this year in support of her new album, MAYHEM, which received widespread acclaim from critics and fans upon release and debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200. Stream MAYHEM HERE.

Following her 2025 headlining sets at Coachella, stadium residencies in Mexico City and Singapore, and landmark free concert on Copacabana Beach in Rio de Janeiro, Gaga will kick off The MAYHEM Ball on July 16 in Las Vegas at T-Mobile Arena.  With multiple nights in Seattle, New York, Miami, Toronto, Chicago, London, Stockholm, Milan, Barcelona, Berlin, and more, this tour marks Gaga’s first North American and Europe/UK run since her iconic 2022 Chromatica Ball Tour.

“This is my first arena tour since 2018,” said Gaga. “There’s something electric about a stadium, and I love every moment of those shows. But with The MAYHEM Ball, I wanted to create a different kind of experience—something more intimate—closer, more connected—that lends itself to the live theatrical art I love to create.”

Taking the world by storm, MAYHEM continues to dominate the charts.  The album debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, marking Gaga’s seventh consecutive No. 1 album.  In its second week, it remains one of the biggest releases of the year, maintaining Top 2 positions across key charts including No. 2 on the Billboard 200, Digital Albums, and US LP Vinyl Albums charts. It also retains the No. 1 spot on both the Billboard Top Pop Albums chart and the Top Dance/Electronic Albums chart for the second consecutive week—the latter of which earned Gaga her eighth career No. 1 on the tally, making her the most successful artist of all time in the chart’s history. She now stands alone with the most No. 1 albums ever on the Dance/Electronic Albums chart.

The fastest-selling international release of the year, MAYHEM debuted at No. 1 in 12 countries, including the U.S., UK, Germany, Japan, Italy, Canada, Australia, France, Spain, Mexico, Brazil, and South Korea, and landed at No. 2 in the Netherlands and Sweden—further cementing Gaga’s global dominance. “Abracadabra” entered the UK Singles Chart at No. 3 and the UK Airplay Chart at No. 2, while in France, MAYHEM posted the biggest first-week sales since Born This Way. In Japan, it ranked among the biggest international albums in recent years; in Finland, it was the only international album to crack the Top 10; and in Ireland, three MAYHEM tracks landed in the Top 40—reinforcing its worldwide impact.

In its first week alone, MAYHEM amassed over 240 million streams worldwide, marking her biggest streaming week ever. It also marked her biggest vinyl week to date, with 74,000 units sold across 14 collectible variants, some of which featured exclusive bonus tracks like “Kill for Love” and “Can’t Stop the High.” The digital edition of the album includes music videos for “Die With a Smile,” “Disease,” and “Abracadabra,” all of which helped fuel the album’s massive first week impact.

“Die With a Smile,” Gaga’s collaboration with Bruno Mars, continues to break records, holding the No. 1 spot on the Billboard Global 200 chart for a 13th consecutive week.  With more than 100 million streams worldwide each week, the track is now tied for the third-longest-running No. 1 in chart history.

MAYHEM marks a return to Gaga’s pop roots, reaffirming that she is a master of reinvention, crafting an album that is as bold and eclectic as it is deeply personal. A declaration of artistic freedom, it embraces the fractured pieces of oneself and how they come together to form something unexpected and beautiful. The album mirrors this concept with its diverse sonic palette and thematic layers, combining elements of chaos, defiance, and vulnerability into a cohesive artistic statement. Gaga describes this process as assembling a shattered mirror: “Even if you can’t put the pieces back together perfectly, you can create something memorable and whole in its own way.

Xdinary Heroes Return To The U.S. On Their 2025 World Tour

0

Following the release of their highly anticipated new EP, ‘Beautiful Mind’, South Korean rock band Xdinary Heroes are excited to announce their highly anticipated 2025 world tour. Produced by JYP Entertainment and promoted by Live Nation, the tour kicks off on May 2 with 4 nights at Olympic Hall in Seoul and continues to Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, Jakarta, Surabaya, Taipei, Singapore, Brooklyn, NY, Washington, DC, Atlanta, GA, Irving, TX, Los Angeles, CA and wrapping up in San Jose, CA at San Jose Civic on August 16.

Xdinary Heroes launched their first international tour, <Break the Brake> World Tourin November 2023.  Starting in Seoul, the band electrified fans—known as “Villains”—across European cities including Paris, London, Frankfurt, Madrid, Milan, and Warsaw, quickly building a dedicated global fanbase. The tour continued in March 2024 with stops in Jakarta, Taipei, Singapore, Manila, and Bangkok. In July 2024, the band played three sold-out showcases in Los Angeles and New York, marking their debut U.S. performances.

The critically acclaimed sextet continues to rise to prominence with ‘Beautiful Mind’, now available on all streaming platforms, following the success of last year’s debut full-length studio album, ‘Troubleshooting’.  The music video for this first studio album’s lead track “Little Things” has accumulated over 11 million views on YouTube, highlighting the band’s growing influence.  In addition, Xdinary Heroes released their fifth EP, ‘Live and Fall’, which included singles  “Boy Comics” and “LOVE and FEAR,” both of which received widespread acclaim.

Beyond their world tour, Xdinary Heroes have also been making waves at both Korean and international major festivals, further solidifying their dynamic stage presence. The upcoming world tour marks another milestone in their journey, bringing their high-energy performances to fans around the world.

Hailing from South Korea, Xdinary Heroes burst onto the global music scene in December 2021 through JYP Entertainment. Their infectious, heavy-hitting debut single, “Happy Death Day,” garnered the group critical buzz, entering Billboard’s World Digital Sales Chart at #12. That effort was followed by a slew of critically praised EP releases in 2022 and 2023 including Hello, world!, Overload, and Deadlock. Overload, which was released in November 2022, entered Billboard’s Heatseekers Chart at #19, and Billboard’s World Albums Chart at #14 upon its release.

In October 2023, Xdinary Heroes released their fourth EP, ‘Livelock’, which was praised amongst the group’s fan community for its driving energy, and thicker, more rocking sound. The EP depicts the band’s growth as artists while navigating the transition between the real world and “♭form,” a concept term that represents the groups on-stage alter-ego, where they transform into heroes. Livelock takes its name from the computer programming term “infinite repetition,” which follows the other IT-themed names of the group’s previous three releases. The collective result represents a cohesive spectrum of sound carried across all of the group’s releases to date, each linked together not only by their ability to engage listeners with intriguing storytelling and personas, but also explosive instrumental capabilities and a distinctive musical identity.   In April 2024, the group released their first full length Troubleshooting, which received enormous acclaim and was followed by the group’s 5th EP ‘LIVE and FALL’ in addition to three sold out showcases in LA and New York. The group kicked off 2025 in a huge way, releasing their next EP ‘Beautiful Mind’. This album features 7 tracks showing their unique style and message that will captivate listeners. Through the title track “Beautiful Life”, they express the profound question of “What does a truly Beautiful Life mean?” using the innovative format of rock opera. With the unveiling of this highly anticipated EP, they also announce that they will be joining the 2025 Lollapalooza lineup and solidifying their place in the music scene. The name Xdinary Heroes is an abbreviation of “Extra-ordinary Heroes,” through which the group hopes to uplift fans and show that “anyone can become a hero.” That message has resonated with listeners worldwide who have embraced the group for their extraordinary music and unique concepts, perhaps setting the stage for them to be Gen Z’s next global sensation. Xdinary Heroes is Gun-il (drums), (vocal, keyboards), Gaon (vocal, guitarist), O.de (vocal, synths), Jun Han (guitarist), and Jooyeon (vocal, bass).

Swizz Beatz Unleashes “Pain” with Tobe Nwigwe and Sauce Walka Ahead of ‘Godfather of Harlem’ Season 4

0

GRAMMY winner, multi-platinum producer and hip hop legend Swizz Beatz has unleashed, “Pain,” the first single from Godfather of Harlem: Season 4 (Original Series Soundtrack).

Swizz once again serves as the executive music producer of the critically acclaimed soundtrack to Godfather of Harlem, which he did for the first 3 seasons. The anticipated new season is set to premiere on MGM+ on April 13. The full Season 4 soundtrack will be released on April 18 via Epic Records.

“Pain” is performed by GRAMMY nominee Tobe Nwigwe and Houston star Sauce Walka. Nwigwe and Walka take turns describing their respective journeys to light from darkness over the agile Swizz-produced instrumental, which includes a deft sample of DMX’s classic record “Ruff Ryders Anthem,” originally produced by Swizz in 1998.

Swizz’s work on the official Godfather of Harlem soundtracks has been headline-worthy. Rolling Stone, Okayplayer and Billboard have taken note of his commitment to meticulous curation of the soundtracks, and in conversation with Billboard, Swizz revealed how detailed his approach can be. “I give [the artists] a story on what we’re shooting, how we’re shooting it,” he says. “Some of them, I’ll let them see the scenes that we’re thinking about.”

A wide range of acts has appeared on the soundtracks previously, including Busta Rhymes, Jadakiss, Bilal and Wale. As a result of Swizz’s vision, the projects have racked up tens-of-millions of streams.

Stream “Pain” below, and get ready for the full, star-studded soundtrack, the fourth installment of Godfather of Harlem and Swizz Beatz’s relationship, arriving April 18

Christopher Guest Reveals How a Real-Life Bass Player Inspired Spinal Tap’s Nigel Tufnel

0

ver wonder where Nigel Tufnel came from? Turns out, not from eleven, but from a Los Angeles hotel lobby. While speaking at The A.V. Club Comedy Festival in 2017, comedy legend Christopher Guest shared the moment he witnessed a British band checking in—only to spark a hilariously awkward exchange about a missing bass guitar. That moment, he said, gave birth to the gloriously oblivious genius of Spinal Tap’s Nigel. “I don’t think I’ve ever been happier,” Guest admitted, “except for the night that I met my wife.” And now, we’re all turning the volume up on that origin story.

Talking Heads Reflect on Cover Band Origins, Velvet Underground Sets, and Early CBGB Days

0

Before they were art rock pioneers, Talking Heads were just trying to get a few friends to dance. On The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, David Byrne, Jerry Harrison, Chris Frantz, and Tina Weymouth looked back on their beginnings as a humble cover band at the Rhode Island School of Design—playing songs by Smokey Robinson, The Who, and Velvet Underground—just to entertain their friends. From braving the bass to getting blown away by The Ramones at CBGB, these early days were the raw material for something legendary.

The Cure’s “Lovesong” Gets a Smoldering 1940s Jazz Makeover by Postmodern Jukebox and Emma Smith

0

Postmodern Jukebox and Emma Smith team up for a sultry big band twist on The Cure’s “Lovesong,” slowing it down and swinging it back to the smoky lounges of the 1940s. It’s Peggy Lee meets goth romance—and it works beautifully.
