Great South Bay Music Festival 2025 Returns With Taking Back Sunday, Damian & Stephen Marley, Men at Work, moe., And More

The Great South Bay Music Festival, Long Island’s Music Fest, is thrilled to announce that they are back and bigger than ever for the 2025 season. The four-day music and arts festival, presented by Voodoo Ranger, returns to the newly revamped and picturesque waterfront at Shorefront Park in Patchogue Village, from Thursday, July 24 – Sunday, July 27.

The first round of headliners have been announced for 2025, including Taking Back Sunday, Men at Work, Damian “Jr. Gong” & Stephen Marley, Naked Eyes, Say Anything, Gym Class Heroes, Head Automatica, The Elovaters, J Boog, moe., Umphrey’s McGee, Pigeons Playing Ping Pong, Eggy, Yacht Rock Revue, Ambrosia, and Strangelove: The Depeche Mode Experience, with many more to be announced. The iconic multi-genre festival is known for presenting a diverse variety of musical acts over the course of four days, with an eclectic lineup of headline artists performing alongside cutting-edge rising stars. This year, the festival will feature a diverse array of performances from Yacht Rock of the ‘80s to the alternative rock of the early aughts, classic and contemporary reggae-rock, to the freeform journeys of the jam world, catering to several generations and tastes of true music lovers.

To celebrate the momentous occasion of their 17th anniversary, the festival will feature 55 performers on three stages, in classic and contemporary rock, jam, pop punk, alternative rock, new wave, synth and electronic pop, ska, reggae, and funk genres. The festival is sponsored by Voodoo Ranger and boasts multiple beer, wine, and adult beverage tents, an artisan and craft market, and a sumptuous food court offering a diverse gourmet menu of delicious and healthy fare. They will also welcome a pop-up from Happy Days Dispensary, New York State’s highest-rated recreational cannabis dispensary.

The festival will kick off on Thursday, July 24, with a throwback night of alternative rock anthems on the bay, with some of the best bands of the 2000s including Taking Back Sunday, Say Anything, Gym Class Heroes, and Head Automatica. From Taking Back Sunday’s emotional anthems to Say Anything’s quirky charm, to Gym Class Heroes’ blend of hip-hop and pop-punk and Head Automatica’s synth-driven alt-rock, this night promises a wild ride through your favorite tracks. Friday’s annual Rock-Reggae Beach Party continues with reggae royalty Damian “Jr. Gong” & Stephen Marley, the smooth sounds of J Boog, and the soulful ska vibes of Oogee Wawa (our local favorites!). Plus, The Elovaters will set the tone with their uplifting, reggae-infused beats that’ll have you swaying to the rhythm. This beach party is the perfect mix of rock, reggae, and ska, bringing a taste of the islands to the East Coast. (12 performers on 3 stages.)

Saturday is always Jam Day, and continuing the legacy of this iconic music are headliners including the legendary moe., the genre-defying Umphrey’s McGee, the funky, high-energy Pigeons Playing Ping Pong, and the groove-heavy Eggy. Whether you’re into seamless jams that flow effortlessly from one song to the next, experimental riffs that push the boundaries, or just want to vibe out to some seriously talented musicians, this lineup has something for everyone. Set sail on Sunday for the ultimate Yacht Rock experience at the ’80s Beach Party hosted by the legendary WLIR & SiriusXM DJ Larry “The Duck” Dunn. The day will feature headliners such as Men at Work, delivering classics like “Who Can It Be Now?” and “Down Under,” and Naked Eyes will have you dancing to “Promises, Promises” and “Always Something There to Remind Me,” while Yacht Rock hitmakers Ambrosia play timeless hits like “You’re the Only Woman” and “Biggest Part of Me.” Plus, the popular Yacht Rock Revue will bring smooth, polished hits from the golden era of ’70s-’80s rock, with special guests Strangelove: The Depeche Mode Experience, who will take you on a synth-driven journey through the band’s discography. Grab your shades and sail into a Sunday full of smooth tunes and unforgettable ’80s nostalgia. (15 performers on 3 stages.)

For the kids:
On Saturday and Sunday, Great South Bay will again present a full schedule of fun, educational children’s performers in the worlds of magic, music, puppetry, costume characters, and more. Visiting performers on the KidZone Stage include Getting Zen with Erin, Funky Town Playground Band, Puppetry with Kiddle Karoo & her Kool Krew, Songs by Lena, Rockin’ Ron the Friendly Pirate, fest favorite Cheryl the Stiltwalker, and more to come.

Emerging Local Artists:
Supporting and presenting original emerging artists has always been part of our mission at GSB. For 2025, the festival is pleased to present over 27 talented original artists that we are excited to give stage time and lay on our music-loving attendees. Some talented original artists to keep on your radar this year include Robinson Treacher, Chris Ruben Band, Gamblers, Escaper, Nikki Silva, Imposters, Azwel, Nonstop to Cairo, and more.

Philanthropy:
Great South Bay is a proud part of our LI community and is committed to doing all we can to support our less fortunate Long Island brothers and sisters. Great South Bay will continue to donate a percentage from every ticket sold to the GSB-Stony Brook Cancer Center Fund. To date, the fest has raised well over a quarter of a million dollars for the cancer center. We will again donate booth spaces in our “Storyville Tent” to local organizations looking to raise awareness and funds for battered women, the homeless, pet rescue, and voter registration.

KULA SHAKER’s irrepressible return continues apace as the original line-up announce the release of a brand new single “Charge of The Light Brigade” on Strangefolk Records.

Packed with allusions to spiritual vampires and the fairy cavalcade of Celtic folklore, this three-minute musical trip is the first of a number of new tracks the band have recorded for their upcoming eighth studio album (title to be announced) and heralds their March/April shows in the U.K., where they will be riding out with Ocean Colour Scene as very special guests on their 2025 tour.

The tour, with extra dates added due to huge demand, kicked off on March 27th in Leeds, UK and runs until May 4th in Newcastle, will see the bands playing 24 dates across the country including two dates at London’s O2 Academy Brixton on April 4th and May 1st and two dates in Glasgow on the 15th and 16th of April. U.S. dates to be announced shortly!

With their seventh and latest album Natural Magick (2024) released across the world and topping the Independent Album Charts in the UK (“The best album of their career” – Shindig!), and having completed successful tours of North America, Asia, the UK and Europe last year, Kula Shaker are well and truly back in the saddle, galloping at speed, in a startling return to form.

The band’s sound feels more amplified than ever with the return of Hammond organ wizard Jay Darlington after a decade with Oasis and various Gallaghers, reuniting all four members of the band’s classic line-up (Crispian Mills: guitar/vocals; Jay Darlington: Hammond organ; Alonza Bevan: bass; Paul Winter-Hart: drums) for the first time since 1999’s Peasants, Pigs & Astronauts.

Delivering that renewed wild energy we know and love, Natural Magick proved to be a mesmeric 13-track incantation incorporating blazing psychedelic sermons, raga rave-ups, stardust-coated pop pearls and mood-enhancing mantras. A technicolor sonic pathway towards a more enlightened state of mind, this was Kula Shaker casting their most powerful spell yet.

Named after a ninth-century mystic, Kula Shaker first carried their freak flag of spiritual sonics to the top during the heady days of Britpop, first with their debut hit “Grateful When You’re Dead” / “Jerry Was There,” followed by top five songs like “Hush” and “Tattva” (a pop song written in Sanskrit) before releasing the legendary “Govinda.” The band became UK album chart-toppers with 1996’s imperious multi-platinum selling debut album K and the follow-up Peasants Pigs & Astronauts saw them push the creative envelope further, prior to their premature dissolution.

Having formed their own label Strangefolk in 2007, Kula Shaker have slowly but surely returned to their sonic summit, with a prolific surge of writing, which began in 2023 with 1st Congregational Church Of Eternal Love And Free Hugs, followed by their acclaimed Natural Magick in 2024.

Sounding the charge for 2025, this new song continues the ever-evolving Kula Shaker legend, which has both entertained and inspired listeners for decades, and 2025, and sees the band advance once again as “Charge of The Light Brigade” trailers the release of a new studio album.

25 years on from the debut album K, Kula Shaker have proved they are still one of the most exciting and ecstatic bands around, an unstoppable tour de force, with kinetic energy cursing through every second of their “electric” live shows.

WXPN announces the lineup for the 32nd annual XPoNential Music Festival Presented By Subaru taking place at Wiggins Park on the Camden, NJ Waterfront September 19th, 20th and 21st 2025. Celebrated for their signature blend of roots, blues, indie rockers, and singer-songwriters, this year’s WXPN thoughtfully selected bill includes indie rockers Courtney Barnett and Sharon Van Etten & The Attachment Theory and the eclectic, genre blending War as headliners.  Joining them at Wiggins Park is Greensky Bluegrass, Preservation Hall Jazz Band, Molly Tuttle, Soccer Mommy, Spin Doctors, Richard Thompson, Tune-Yards and more.

The outdoor XPoNential Music Festival features WXPN’s “impeccably curated” mix of established, emerging and local artists, as cited by Philadelphia magazine in naming it Best Music Festival in its 2023 “Best of Philly” awards.

Produced in partnership with the Camden County Board of Commissioners, the XPoNential Music Festival attracts audiences from Greater Philadelphia, Mid-Atlantic, and Northeastern US to Wiggins Park, which offers convenient access via public transportation, two waterfront stages in natural amphitheaters that produce great sound, lawn seating, and riverfront promenades that offer spectacular views of the Delaware River and Philadelphia skyline. In addition to its variety of artists, amenities that include free non-alcoholic beverages and an artist meet-and-greet area for WXPN members, a children’s activities area, and extensive food, beverage, and other vendor selections make the festival an enjoyable experience for music lovers of all ages.

Bristol Rhythm & Roots Reunion, presented by Ballad Health and produced by the nonprofit Birthplace of Country Music, returns to State Street in Historic Downtown Bristol, Tenn.-Va. Sept. 19-21, 2025 for its 24th annual event, boasting a colossal, genre-bending lineup that includes the soul-drenched blues-rock of Aussie exports The Teskey Brothers, the anthemic harmonies of Shane Smith & The Saints, and next-gen outlaw Lukas Nelson. 14-time GRAMMY winner Ricky Skaggs & Kentucky Thunder are also on the roster with platinum-selling chart-toppers The Band Perry, who hail from neighboring Greeneville, Tenn. Breakthrough singer-songwriter Joy Oladokun, known for her collaborations with Chris Stapleton, Brandi Carlile and Maren Morris, makes her debut in Bristol alongside festival veterans Steep Canyon Rangers, psychedelic jam band Pigeons Playing Ping Pong, and buzzworthy, Birmingham, Ala. bluegrass ensemble Mountain Grass Unit, plus many, many more. The three-day celebration is an immersive tribute to the legacy of the 1927 Bristol Sessions recordings and the far-reaching influence of that pivotal moment in American music history.

Kaitlin Butts, Ashley Monroe, Fruition, Sister Sadie, Michael Cleveland, The Wilder Blue, Nolan Taylor, Shadowgrass, Ken Pomeroy, Theo Lawrence, The Wildmans, Jarekus Singleton, Rob Ickes & Trey Hensley, Larry Keel’s Electric Larry Land, Denitia, Chicken Wire Empire also join the lineup of nearly 100 acts slated to appear on a dozen stages in the twin cities designated the “birthplace of country music” by the U.S. Congress.

Bristol Rhythm & Roots Reunion amplifies the charm of its vibrant downtown location, steeped in the region’s authentic music, culture, and community. As Saving Country Music puts it, “Instead of traipsing back and forth through an open field like many festivals make you endure, you feel like you’re entering a musical village, and one that you never want to leave.”

New for 2025, Bristol Rhythm will add late night sets at Machiavelli’s outdoor tent, “barn” dances at the Country Music Mural Stage, and the festival’s first Artist in Residence, Dave Eggar. The dynamic cellist, pianist, and composer, who has worked with a host of artists including The Who, Coldplay, Tony Bennett, Patti Smith, Esperanza Spalding, and many, many more, will take his talents from stage to stage, collaborating with a number of festival artists throughout the weekend. Tennessee Songwriters Week Bristol qualifying round winners Austin Barrett, Camden Benoit, Claire Childress, and Erin Dalton will also perform in the round with Sarrenna, hosted by Adam Bolt.

WBCM Radio Bristol, which celebrates its 10th anniversary this year, will bring its popular Farm and Fun Time variety show back to the Paramount Bristol stage during the festival this year, with special guests to be announced. Hoot and Holler, Roanoke’s storytelling collective, will also return to delight audiences with more stories – “out loud!”

Gigi Perez Announces Debut Album ‘At The Beach, In Every Life’ Out April 25, Shares Track Teaser and Global Tour Dates

Cuban-American singer, songwriter, and producer Gigi Perez proudly announces her self-produced full-length debut LP, At The Beach, In Every Life, out April 25, 2025, via Island Records. Alongside the announcement, Gigi unveils a striking album trailer that artfully sets the stage for what’s to come.

The passionate, poetic, and powerful body of work centers around themes of grief, love, faith, and religion. Notabl,y the album processes the aftermath of losing her beloved sister Celene whose voice memos weave throughout the LP, the motif that glues her debut together. Recorded and Executive Produced by Perez, and with the help of her dear friends and collaborators, Noah Weinman and Aidan Hobbs, the album captures a clear representation of Gigi’s life over the past five years which saw her signing her first major label deal during the pandemic, getting dropped, returning home to her native South Florida to start over again, and how swimming through grief and romance challenge those things. On her third independent release, Perez released “Sailor Song” before signing to Island Records in the fall of 2024.

On the album, Gigi stated, “This is the album I needed to listen to when I was twenty years old following the passing of my older sister, Celene. It’s taken years to process, and seeing how it’s colored everything in my life, it feels like a flag down in the sand at a checkpoint rather than a destination. And there was water everywhere for miles, and a girl met me there every time. I have been loved through my grief.” 

Rolling Stone recently touted Gigi among “2025 Pop Acts to Watch,” asserting, “Gigi Perez is on track to become a household name this year.” Billboard chronicled her rise, placing her among its “Artists to Watch in 2025,” while BBC claims “it won’t be long before Gigi sees her name tattooed on many more arms.”

Perez made her debut on the Billboard Hot 100 with “Sailor Song” in August 2024, where the single has continued to climb for 33 weeks and has generated nearly 1 billion streams. The song has also reached Top 5 on Spotify’s US charts, Top 10 on Spotify’s Global chart.

In February, Gigi made her debut on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on NBC with a stunning rendition of “Sailor Song.” HOLLER. professed, “Gigi Perez’s captivating performance consolidates her position as one of the most exciting new voices in the folk-pop genre, with the sense of anticipation continuing to sky-rocket...”

Gigi Perez invites everyone behind the curtain. When you peel back the layers of her songs, her questions of faith, memories of loved ones gone-way-too-soon, visions of ecstasy, and premonitions of romance bubble up to the surface. All of these emotions feel familiar because they’re delivered without filter in poetically blunt lyrics stitched into the fabric of her soft production and naked acoustic guitar. Tucker Wetmore Reveals Songs From Debut Album ‘What Not To’

As anticipation reaches fever pitch, country’s newest powerhouse Tucker Wetmore has officially unveiled the full tracklist for his debut album What Not To, arriving Friday, April 25. Produced by Chris LaCorte, the 19-song collection captures the highs, lows and lessons learned in Wetmore’s 25 years – offering a full-length introduction to one of country music’s most exciting voices.

Touted as “just a heartbeat away from a household hit” (Country Central), Wetmore co-wrote 11 of the album’s tracks, including the long-requested fan-favorite “Drinkin’ Boots” and the current viral sensation “Brunette.” The record weaves together interconnected themes, “like red yarn connecting a bunch of pins on a wall,” as Wetmore describes it. At its core is the title track, “What Not To,” a song about struggle, compassion and salvation. “Momma said you don’t pray no more/breaks my heart, so I do it for you,” Wetmore sings.

 Wetmore kicked off release month with high-profile national appearances on CBS Mornings Plus and ABC News Live to give an exclusive first look at the album. He also hit a career milestone with his first-ever major country award show nomination for ACM New Male Artist of the Year.
