London’s Natanya Announces New EP ‘Feline’s Return’ and Shares New Single “Daydream”

0

London-based singer-songwriter-producer Natanya announces her new EP Feline’s Return due June 27th via Human Re-Sources. Feline’s Return marks a bold evolution in her sound, as she embraces a more classic pop-driven sound while building on the foundations laid in her debut EP and coming-of-age project, Sorrow at Sunrise.

Alongside the announcement, Natanya shares her new single and video for “Daydream.” Blending alt-rock, pop and r&b, she invites listeners on a journey of self-reflection and quiet courage, making it the perfect soundtrack for moments of introspection and personal discovery.

“Daydream is about the fear of sharing yourself with the world,” says Natanya.

Born in North West London, Natanya has always considered music her second language. She began classical piano lessons at the age of four and quickly discovered her perfect pitch. As a teenager, she attended the Julian Joseph Jazz Academy on weekends, where she wrote her first songs. Inspired by Janet Jackson, Amy Winehouse, Paramore, and Stevie Wonder, she started producing beats with friends. This pursuit culminated in her debut tape, Sorrow At Sunrise (2023), featuring confessional writing set against a rich sonic tapestry. Written as six diary entries, the tape details the first tastes of independence during her first year studying English Literature at University College London, all while juggling a budding musical career.

Last year she shared her single “boombox,” uncovering new facets of her production style. It leans into low-end, synth-heavy sonics mixed with afro fusion inspired sounds, juxtaposed with flowery instrumentation – something she first introduced in her last project. By extending the parameters of her musical tapestry, she further solidifies her promise as one of alt-pop’s most exciting and versatile future contributors.

Allison Ponthier Announces First-Ever Headline Tour Following the Release of “Karaoke Queen”

0

Texas native singer/songwriter Allison Ponthier has announced her first-ever headline tour, kicking off in June. The news comes on the heels of “Karaoke Queen,” the first single from her forthcoming debut album, which arrived Friday alongside an official visualizer.

The five-date US run will begin in Boston on June 12, hitting NYC’s Bowery Ballroom on June 13 and wrapping at Schuba’s in Chicago on June 21 (full tour itinerary below). Presale begins April 2 at 10am local time, with general onsale beginning April 4 at 10am local time.

“Karaoke Queen” arrived Friday to critical acclaim, including an exclusive interview with Variety, who praised the “sweet” single. Billboard celebrated the “tender, fragile new ballad,” highlighting her “ethereal voice and unmatched skills at confessional lyricism,” while Rolling Stone hailed the track as a “Song You Need To Know.” Consequence commended the “luminous” single and raved, “There’s a whole world contained in the track.” Showcasing delicate finger-picked guitar and Ponthier’s warm, shimmering vocals, “Karaoke Queen” was written four years ago with Ethan Gruska (Phoebe Bridgers, Lizzy McAlpine, Ryan Beatty) and Micah Premnath during a time of uncertainty when Ponthier was confronting her greatest fear-being dropped by her major label. Now an independent artist after experiencing her “worst case scenario,” the song arrives as a reflection on the fragility of dreams and the resilience to face our fears head-on, offering a comforting reminder that even when our worst fears materialize, things will turn out okay.

“I wrote ‘Karaoke Queen’ four years ago, after I signed my first record deal,” shared Ponthier. “The most terrifying outcome I could imagine was losing my deal by getting dropped, something that felt really possible because I came from Texas with no real knowledge of music business beforehand. With Ethan Gruska and Micah Premnath, we wrote a story about a girl who gets signed to a major, gets dropped, and has to move back to her hometown. She’s embarrassed and discouraged, but then she finds herself becoming the star of the local karaoke bar in town, and ultimately happy.”

She continued, “By writing this song, it helped me imagine my worst fear but with a happy ending. So when it actually happened to me in late 2024, I was crushed, but, like the song, it truly was one of the best things that I didn’t know needed to happen. I hope other people can relate to the moral of the story: sometimes you don’t get what you want, but you get what you need.”

Ponthier first broke through with the 2021 EP Faking My Own Death — a collection that documented her coming-out story and delivered a dreamy fusion of indie-folk, alt-rock, and left-of-center country-pop. That same year, the Brooklyn-based artist teamed up with Lord Huron for the hit single “I Lied,” then joined the band on the road + made her late-night TV debut on The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon.

2022 saw Ponthier’s sophomore EP Shaking Hands with Elvis earn raves from the likes of Consequence, who compared the project to “the dynamic folk-tinged stoicism of Kacey Musgraves and Orville Peck.” She’s toured with Bleachers, Holly Humberstone, The Japanese House, Hayley Kiyoko, NIKI, and Maren Morris, and been championed by the likes of Elton John and Brandi Carlile. Ponthier was recently featured in John’s Oscar nominated documentary, Elton John: Never too Late + performed at Carlile’s annual Girls Just Wanna Weekend. Ponthier’s music + whimsical creative vision have been touted by the likes of Vogue, Rolling Stone, NPR, Vulture, NME, The FADER, V Magazine and many more.

Leftover Salmon and Kitchen Dwellers Announce Star-Studded 35th Anniversary “Pick-Nic” at Red Rocks This Memorial Day

0

Leftover Salmon and Kitchen Dwellers have announced a stellar lineup of special guests for the highly anticipated “Memorial Day Pick-Nic” at Colorado’s historic Red Rocks Amphitheatre on May 26, 2025. Joining the celebration are former Leftover Salmon member and Little Feat keyboardist Bill Payne, acclaimed singer-songwriter Nicki Bluhm, Grammy Award-winning fiddler Jason Carter, powerhouse vocalist and multi-instrumentalist Laurie Lewis, eclectic Bermudian singer-songwriter Mishka, and AJ Lee, frontwoman of the award-winning bluegrass and folk group AJ Lee & Blue Summit.

This special performance will commemorate the 35th anniversary of Leftover Salmon, the pioneering “polyethnic Cajun slamgrass” band from Colorado. Both Leftover Salmon and Kitchen Dwellers will perform two sets each, featuring collaborative performances with the special guests and the High Country Horns. The evening will also include an opening performance by Denver’s rising “good folk’n country” group, Clay Street Unit.

Few bands stick around for thirty years. Even fewer bands leave a legacy during that time that marks them as a truly special, once-in-a-lifetime type band. And no band has done all that and had as much fun as Leftover Salmon.

Since their earliest days as a forward-thinking, progressive bluegrass band who had the guts to add drums to the mix and who was unafraid to stir in any number of highly combustible styles into their ever-evolving sound; to their role as a pioneer of the modern jamband scene; to their current status as elder-statesmen of the scene who cast a huge influential shadow over every festival they play, Leftover Salmon has been a crucial link in keeping alive the traditional music of the past while at the same time pushing that sound forward with their own weirdly unique style.

Leftover Salmon is continuing their long, storied history, which found them first emerging from the progressive bluegrass world and coming of age as one of the original jam bands, before rising to become architects of what has become known as Jamgrass and helping to create a landscape where bands schooled in the traditional rules of bluegrass can break free of those bonds through nontraditional instrumentation and an innate ability to push songs in new psychedelic directions live.

Leftover Salmon is a band who, for more than thirty-five years, has never stood still; they are constantly changing, evolving, and inspiring. If someone wanted to understand what Americana music is, they could do no better than to go to a Leftover Salmon show, where they effortlessly glide from a bluegrass number born on the front porch, to the down-and-dirty Cajun swamps with a stop on Bourbon Street in New Orleans, to the hallowed halls of the Ryman in Nashville, before firing one up in the mountains of Colorado.

Kitchen Dwellers twist bluegrass, folk, and rock through a kaleidoscope of homegrown stories, rich mythology, American west wanderlust, and psychedelic hues. The Montana quartet—Shawn Swain [Mandolin], Torrin Daniels [banjo], Joe Funk [upright bass], and Max Davies [acoustic guitar]—have captivated audiences at hallowed venues such as Red Rocks Amphitheatre and recently performed alongside acts such as Billy Strings and Goose in addition to playing festivals such as Telluride Bluegrass, Under The Big Sky, WinterWonderGrass, and more. They’ve released four critically acclaimed albums—Ghost In The Bottle [2017], Muir Maid [2019], Wise River [2022], and Seven Devils [2024]. After amassing 15 million-plus streams, selling out shows, and receiving acclaim from Huffington Post, Relix, American Songwriter, and more.

Grammy winner, Rock & Roll Hall of Famer, and Songwriters Hall of Fame inductee John Fogerty has announced a special concert at New York City’s Beacon Theatre taking place on his 80th birthday, May 28, 2025. Celebrating his legacy while casting his eye to the future, the legend will perform his classic hits that continue to shape the sound of American music today, backed by a band including his sons Shane and Tyler Fogerty. Tickets are on sale this Friday, April 4, and local pre-sale begins on Wednesday, April 2. More info HERE.

The Beacon show is one of several high-profile appearances, performances, and honors planned in 2025. Earlier this month he appeared at SXSW for a show at Stubb’s BBQ, playing songs from “one of the great rock & roll catalogs…with a genuine sweetness” (Rolling Stone), followed by a Keynote conversation with fellow Rock & Roll Hall of Famer Tom Morello.

On April 24, Fogerty will give a headlining performance at Jazz Fest in New Orleans, and just days later will be honored at the 2025 American Music Honors, hosted by the Bruce Springsteen Archives & Center for American Music at Monmouth University in NJ. The American Music Honors celebrate artists who have demonstrated artistic excellence, creative integrity, and a longstanding commitment to the value of music within national consciousness. The April 26 event is hosted by Brian Williams and will feature presenters Bruce Springsteen, Nils Lofgren, Patti Scialfa, and Stevie Van Zandt.

TajMo Returns! Taj Mahal and Keb’ Mo’ Reunite for ‘Room On The Porch’ and 2025 Tour

0

TajMo – the historic collaboration between two generations of American music masters – have shared new single “Junkyard Dog” today, from their forthcoming full-length album Room On The Porch – out May 23 on Concord Records. Keb’ Mo’ and Taj Mahal showcase their “strong chemistry” (Wall Street Journal) – and a blues prowess that’s earned them ten combined GRAMMY Awards – on “Junkyard Dog,” which was originally written by Nashville-based songwriter Maia Sharp for her album Mercy Rising (2021). “This track is where this TajMo album began,” says Keb’ Mo’. “I heard Maia Sharp’s version of ‘Junkyard Dog’ and I knew we could put some dirt on it and make it ours. It has the bones of a blues anthem.”

The ten-song collection finds the duo reuniting for their first release together since 2017, when their debut collaboration TajMo brought them from The Late Show with Stephen Colbert (for a stunning performance alongside Jon Batiste) to Marc Maron’s garage to the GRAMMY stage (where they took home Best Contemporary Blues Album). While putting their signature stamp on favorite tunes like “Junkyard Dog,” Room On The Porch also features more original, co-written tracks between the legendary pair than ever before – playing to each other’s strengths and discovering creative horizons more than a half-century into their storied careers.

“The two of us collaborating has always been a very organic thing,” Taj reflects. “We have different skill sets that go well together, and even though it’d been a while since we’d played together, it was easy to get back to that same creative place we landed with the first album.”

Room On The Porch (which Taj Mahal and Keb’ Mo’ also co-produced together) incorporates a full spectrum of sounds that showcase why “each of them is a standard-bearer in the genre-bending world of folk, blues, soul and Americana” (Billboard). But, as Taj Mahal points out, these styles are all deeply tied together by their shared roots: “If you take the African imprint out of Western music for the last 500 years, there’s almost nothing left,” says Taj (who will also play Big Ears and JazzFest this spring). “As much as it might feel like we’re touching on all these different genres, the way I see it, we’re just connecting with the music of our ancestors and their influence on what’s happening now.”

Taj Mahal and Keb’ Mo’ will bring their TajMo live show back on the road in 2025, celebrating Room On The Porch in over a dozen cities across the United States, beginning with a special appearance at the Grand Ole Opry (joined by Ruby Amanfu), during the Opry’s year-long 100th anniversary celebrations, before their first headline show together at New York’s Town Hall on May 28. New this year, Campout for the Cause has partnered with Colorado’s Coletrain Music Academy to bring in professional instructors for on-site music education. Festival-goers of all skill levels can participate in group jams, lessons, and collaborative sessions designed to foster camaraderie and creative exploration.

“Campout was created along the Colorado River following the destructive fire at State Bridge Lodge,” says Scotty Stoughton, founder of Bonfire Entertainment. “From the ashes grew Campout For The Cause—a home to play music, camp, share stories, and gather around the campfire.”

Hutchinson Ranch, located in the historic mountain town of Salida, offers a picturesque setting at the base of the majestic Sawatch Range. “Our new home feels like a long-lost outpost on our journey West,” notes Stoughton. “The seven-generation Hutchinson Ranch needs our help to keep their open spaces open, as Salida’s strong agricultural roots are being challenged by development.”

Campout for the Cause was originally founded in 2009 in part to support The Central America Foundation, and over the years has contributed to several charitable causes including All Hands And Hearts, Emmy’s Friends, Protect our Rivers, and other local nonprofits. In 2025, the festival’s beneficiaries will include:

Guidestone Colorado (https://guidestonecolorado.org/)
Children’s Discovery Ranch (https://childrensdiscoveryranch.com/)
COTBDAA (https://coloradoticks.org/)

Bonfire Entertainment, the team behind WinterWonderGrass, BajaWonderGrass, and RiverWonderGrass, is excited to rekindle the spirit of Campout for the Cause, reminding attendees that life is too often busy and hurried. The gathering aims to inspire reflection, conversation, and camaraderie under Colorado’s star-filled skies.

Tickets are on sale now and may be purchased HERE. Capacity is limited to preserve the unique, close-knit ambiance of Campout for the Cause.
