Gitika Partington Smashes The World Record By Dropping 13 Albums At Once

0

Gitika Partington just rewrote the record books by releasing thirteen albums simultaneously. This massive collection features 130 original songs written over a five-year period of steady creative practice. The project began as a smaller set of nine records before expanding naturally into this historic achievement. Partington developed these tracks within the iheartsongwritingclub.com community, responding to weekly prompts alongside fellow writers in Brisbane. This body of work moves in chronological order through the first twelve albums, followed by a final collection of songs that nearly escaped the process.

This music functions as an artistic gesture centered on the act of creation for its own sake. The songs offer stories and personal commentary written as messages from the artist to herself. Listeners find themes of returning home and quirky reflections on daily life throughout the expansive tracklist. This output is a vibrant and essential celebration of human creativity. Partington prioritizes the creative process over commercial benchmarks or digital algorithms. This release allows the audience to wander through the music in any order they choose.

Tom Robinson of BBC Radio 6 described Partington as a force of nature during the production of her virtual choir videos. These videos featured the work of community filmmaker Bob Karper and included a notable version of “Video Killed The Radio Star”. The project remains an invitation for others to ignore self-doubt and value their own artistic journey. Partington compares the simultaneous release to setting a huge flock of birds free into the sky all at once. This approach emphasizes that making art is a source of genuine fun.

The songwriter is now collecting handwritten lyrics from 130 participants to create a physical book. Each contributor adds personal creative touches like paintings or doodles to an A4 page featuring one lyric from the project. This endeavor brings the digital songs into a tangible form to celebrate the completion of this cycle. Partington views the release as a way to make room for new music and future ideas. The entire collection is available now for listeners to explore at their own pace and direction.

Polish Heavy Rockers MISSCORE Release New Single And Video “Domino”

0

Towering Polish heavy rockers MISSCORE are back with their breathtaking new single and video “Domino”, out now via DarkTunes Music Group. Hailing from Lubrza, Poland, MISSCORE have been steadily building momentum since solidifying their lineup in 2023. Fronted by the commanding vocals of Natalia Rygiel, the band also features Mateusz Dźwigała on bass and keyboards, Maciej Przybylski on guitars, and Jarek Bielecki on drums. Drawing influence from modern heavyweights such as Bring Me The Horizon, Slipknot, and Linkin Park, MISSCORE deliver a powerful modern rock sound infused with electronic textures, crushing riffs, and emotionally charged melodic hooks. The band’s upward trajectory accelerated with the release of their debut full-length album ‘DRᛜWN’ in early 2024, with a rapidly growing reputation as a formidable live act fueling their expanding international fanbase reaching beyond mainland Europe and into the UK. Their latest album ‘Hypocrisy’, released in May 2025 via DarkTunes, marked a bold and uncompromising step forward, showcasing a darker, more mature artistic vision filled with authoritative songwriting and intense vocal performances.

Their new single “Domino” encapsulates MISSCORE’s evolving sound and conceptual depth. Blending modern alternative rock with cinematic darkness, the track captures the tension between emotional collapse and awakening. Vocalist Natalia Rygiel explains, “‘Domino’ was written as a reaction to control disguised as comfort. We recorded it instinctively, chasing tension rather than perfection. The song captures the moment when one small move breaks the illusion, and everything begins to fall around us.” With “Domino”, MISSCORE continue to refine their narrative-driven, emotionally charged sound, signaling the next chapter in their rapidly expanding international journey. With a full schedule of live shows planned for 2026, MISSCORE’s rise on the global rock scene is becoming impossible to ignore.

EverFelt Unleashes Psychedelic Groove Metal Album ‘Stirring To Wake’

0

American psychedelic groove metal upstarts EverFelt have unleashed their most immersive statement yet with the release of their new album ‘Stirring to Wake’, which arrived on December 15, 2025. Thick with hypnotic riffs, swirling atmospheres, and a dark melodic pull, the album channels the spirit of rock’s ancestors while carving a bold, modern path forward. Drawing influence from the brooding weight of Tool, the haunting harmonies of Alice In Chains, the doom-laced swagger of Black Sabbath, and the mind-expanding mystique of The Doors, EverFelt deliver a sound that feels both familiar and dangerously fresh. ‘Stirring to Wake’ doesn’t simply nod to these influences but absorbs them, reshapes them, and pushes them into deeper, heavier territory. The band shares, “Music is the cornerstone of our existence. With ‘Stirring to Wake’, we wanted to capture the haze, the heaviness, and the emotion that lives at the core of who we are—and leave a mark on anyone willing to take the journey with us.”

Formed in the summer of 2022, EverFelt is driven by the haunting vocals and introspective lyricism of Adam Steglich, the expressive and textured guitar work of Corey Robinson, the powerful low-end foundation of Ryan Moore on bass, and the dynamic pulse and color of Danny Furlong on percussion. While their roots span everything from Audioslave and Pink Floyd to Slayer, the band’s identity stands firmly on its own as an intoxicating mix of psychedelic textures, groove-driven heaviness, and melodies that linger long after the final note fades. With ‘Stirring to Wake’, EverFelt deepen their commitment to music that resonates beyond the surface. These are songs meant to sink in slowly, blur the edges, and stay with you. The album was engineered by Shelby Preklas of Loud and Clear Studio, who helped bring clarity, weight, and atmosphere to EverFelt’s evolving sonic vision, striking a balance between raw power and expansive depth. For fans of heavy music with depth, darkness, and soul, this is a trip worth taking.

Paris Paloma Rejects Male Gaze With New Single And Video “Good Girl”

0

Paris Paloma rejects the male fantasy and reclaims her image in her new single and video for “Good Girl”. Directed by BAFTA-winning filmmaker Georgie Cowan-Turner and starring actor Richard Armitage, the song and video implore Paris to not be the patriarchy’s “good girl”, offering a reckoning with diet culture, anti-ageing obsession and the need to appeal to the male gaze that’s often imposed on women. Paris explains, “I have been trying for some years now to extricate my relationship with my body from the smug power of patriarchal beauty standards. The belief runs so deep it feels almost biblical: that to be skinny is to be loved, to look young is to be happy, to be shaved is to be sexy; that fighting every natural impulse of your body means you have your life together. Underpinning all of this is the most urgent message of all – that the male gaze is the utmost, desperately important thing to be achieved.” She continues, “It makes me want to kick, scream, writhe, and distort in agony that this culture does not treat women’s bodies as what they are: mammals, animals, human beings. ‘Good Girl’ articulates that kicking and screaming – the refusal of the idea that my body is for consumption or ornamentation. My body is my vehicle through the world.”

“Good Girl” follows the release of “Good Boy”, a razor-sharp track calling out the manosphere and asking for solidarity over submission to the patriarchy. The track features an opening from actress Emma Thompson, with the video directed by Georgie Cowan-Turner and starring actor Tom Blyth. Together, the two tracks open a new chapter for Paris after the release of her critically-lauded 2024 debut album ‘Cacophony’, which today boasts over 1 billion streams. Paris joins Florence + The Machine as a special guest on her UK and EU arena tour starting February 6 in Belfast and wrapping March 9 in Berlin, followed by festival appearances at Hinterland, Rock Werchter and more. This follows a whirlwind year of festival appearances and landmark moments including performing at All Things Go, Glastonbury, Southside, Bergenfest and sold out UK, EU and US runs, plus her recent debut headline Australian tour.

Paris Paloma’s Gold-certified breakout single “labour” became a cultural lightning rod, sparking over 11 billion views across social media and over 530 million streams on Spotify alone. The anthem has fueled viral trends and global movements, soundtracking everything from reproductive rights campaigns on KamalaHQ and anti-sexual violence advocacy in support of Gisele Pelicot to the empowering run like a girl phenomenon. The track’s impact has carried Paris to major stages and screens, including performances on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, BBC’s Later…with Jools Holland, and The Kelly Clarkson Show, as well as invitations to support Noah Kahan and Stevie Nicks at Hyde Park in London. In 2024, Paris added to her accolades by performing “The Rider” for The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim, joining a legacy of musical icons like Ed Sheeran, Annie Lennox, and Enya who have lent their voices to the Tolkien universe. With “Good Girl” and more new music on the way, Paris continues to be one of the most vital new voices in music, turning personal catharsis into collective power.

Steep Canyon Rangers Release “Heart’s The Only Compass” Featuring Steve Martin

0

Steep Canyon Rangers have revealed “Heart’s the Only Compass” featuring Steve Martin, the third track from their forthcoming 15th studio album ‘Next Act’, out May 22 on Yep Roc Records. Songwriter Graham Sharp explains, “It’s natural to look back at history, especially our personal history, and feel like things turned out in a way that makes perfect sense. After hearing some stories of my grandparents’ younger days and seeing people around me learning about their family history through DNA tests, it struck me just how much of a crapshoot it is. When every daily choice seems monumental, it feels good to think that the generations before us didn’t know what they were doing anymore than we do. And the best you can do is follow your heart.” Recorded by Julian Dreyer at Echo Mountain Recording in Asheville, North Carolina, and produced by Mike Ashworth and Steep Canyon Rangers, ‘Next Act’ represents a return to the band’s bluegrass roots, reclaiming the music that first shaped them while drawing strength from tradition and continuing to write new chapters within it.

The album features guest appearances by Steve Martin and Edie Brickell on “Halfway to Reno” and Celia Woodsmith of Della Mae on “Hard Times”. The previously released title track “Next Act” stands as a stirring anthem of reinvention, showcasing the Rangers’ signature blend of bluegrass and Americana with rootsy storytelling, rich harmony-laden arrangements, and soulful musicianship anchored by Aaron Burdett’s commanding lead vocal. “Circling the Drain”, also previously released, highlights the band’s signature mix of high energy precision and instrumental brilliance. Inspired in part by Barbara Kingsolver’s novel Demon Copperhead, Sharp’s songwriting channels a sense of precarity and forward momentum. In support of ‘Next Act’, the band will embark on a 27-date tour run spanning February through June, bringing their bluegrass sound to theaters, festivals, and performing arts centers across the country. The run includes a series of dates with Steve Martin & Martin Short, a symphonic evening with the Nashville Symphony, and festival appearances including MerleFest, Kerrville Folk Festival, and RockyGrass.

Bristol Trio Masca Releases “Diggin'” From Debut Album ‘Love Letters’

0

Bristol trio Masca has revealed a further taste of their forthcoming debut album ‘Love Letters’, set for release April 3 via Cold Hard Bangers. The boundary-testing new track “Diggin'” addresses the current political climate, with vocalist and guitarist Christina Maynard explaining it’s “a song about not being able to see the other side, getting so entrenched with your own views that you’re unable to take a step back. Left vs right.” The track features stunning guest vocal turns from fellow Bristolians Ellie Godwin of the band PEACH and Aisling Rhiannon of Sans Froid. “Diggin'” is indicative of Masca’s musical approach, which runs the gamut between glittering melodies and blistering riffs. Their music is built for curious minds who also want to move their bodies, blending rock with a pop sparkle and pop with a rock snarl.

‘Love Letters’ delves into a wide spread of subject matter. Feelgood single “Oxytocin” is a song for Maynard’s young son who tours with the band, written while she was pregnant with him. “Act My Age” and “Love Letters” deal with the intricacies of band life, “Fitting In” addresses billionaires messing up the world, and “DWIW” tackles working in hospitality on minimum wage. Masca was born in 2021 during lockdown when Tina and Jack Hamilton, living together in a tiny Bristol flat, started livestreaming jam sessions with a PayPal link just to get by. What started as survival quickly turned into discovering that writing together was magic. Momentum gathered once lockdown lifted and the duo became a trio with the addition of Ben Holyoake on bass. A breakout set at 2000trees festival followed, and with a new baby in the mix, Masca built a home studio in their garden so rehearsals could continue while the baby slept. For Masca, being a band isn’t just about chasing success but about resilience, family, and chasing that moment when melody meets riff and everything clicks.

Bastion Rose Unleashes Heavy Metal Anthem “Bones” From Upcoming Album ‘Blue Rising’

0

Following the success of their recent single “Dust,” cinematic hard rock powerhouse Bastion Rose has unleashed their next single, “Bones.” The new single serves as the second offering from their highly anticipated upcoming record, Blue Rising.

“Bones” is a heavy metal anthem defined by its rhythmic, marching intensity and massive, driving riffs. Exploring themes of willpower and the toll of endurance, the track captures a cinematic precision and grit that has quickly become the band’s hallmark.

“There are songs that I have written over the years that have taken control of me. Possessed me. I couldn’t put them down until they were finished. I couldn’t get them out of my mind for more than a minute or two until the full song materialized,” says frontman Austin Frink. “It’s about the grind—something in your bones—tells you that you need to survive. It’s a song to help you keep pushing forward through the rain, even when it feels like there is nothing left to give.”

A rising tide in Modern Rock, the release of “Bones” arrives as Bastion Rose continues to dominate the digital rock landscape. Building on the foundation of their debut album Traces of Gold—produced by three-time Grammy-winner David Bottrill (Tool, Godsmack, Rush, Muse)—the band has surpassed 1.5 million streams and built a global community of over 60,000 YouTube subscribers.

Praised by Metal Hammer Magazine as a band with music “for fans of Black Sabbath, Soundgarden, and rock’s darker angels” and dubbed the “new architects of modern heavy rock” by The CHRD Magazine, Bastion Rose is striking while the iron is hot. “Bones” signals a heavier, more aggressive shift in the Blue Rising era, showcasing the band’s ability to balance technical precision with the raw energy of a live performance.

With the backing of a rapidly growing audience and critical acclaim from Metal Hammer and SPIN, Bastion Rose is positioning themselves as an essential voice in the new era of heavy music.

Freddie Gibbs Announces “The Last Rabbit Tour” Following Grammy Win

0

Fresh off a starring role in the film Night Patrol and the release of ‘Alfredo 2′, his critically acclaimed collaborative album with The Alchemist, Freddie Gibbs is kicking off 2026 with the announcement of his headline North American tour. Launching this May, “The Last Rabbit Tour” will see the rapper make stops in Las Vegas, Boston, New York, Charlotte, Sacramento, and more, joined by Nourished by Time, Geordie Greep, and 2 Deadboyz as supporting acts on select dates. Presale begins Wednesday, February 4 at 10 a.m. local time, with all tickets on sale Friday, February 6 at 10 a.m. local time. Last night, Gibbs also became a Grammy-winning artist in the Best R&B Album category at the 2026 Grammy Awards for contributions on Leon Thomas’ ‘Mutt’.

This past July, Freddie Gibbs and The Alchemist released their second collaborative album ‘Alfredo 2’ via Rabbit Vision, ALC Records and Virgin Music. The project arrived five years after ‘Alfredo’, an album that became an instant classic and redefined what a rapper-producer duo could sound like. The long-anticipated follow-up enjoyed the duo’s biggest single album consumption and streaming week ever. It arrived alongside the Nick Walker-directed Alfredo: The Movie, shot on location in Japan, offering a cryptic glimpse into the ‘Alfredo 2’ world. Equal parts yakuza noir and Ghost Dog, the film casts Gibbs and The Alchemist as partners navigating a seedy, hyper-stylized version of the city’s criminal underground. They traded pasta for noodles, operating out of a humble ramen shop while studying ancient methods of preparation, boiling bones by day and laundering money by night.

Melanie Martinez Announces Fourth Studio Album ‘HADES’ Arriving March 27

0

Following the release of “POSSESSION,” her first new music in three years, Melanie Martinez officially announces her fourth studio album HADES, arriving March 27. “POSSESSION” debuted with over 2.7 million Spotify streams in its first 24 hours and has surpassed 10 million+ to date. “POSSESSION” is Melanie’s fastest-streaming release and the biggest female debut of 2026 so far. As Spotify Pop Editor Talia Kraines notes, “Melanie’s blend of sweetness and darkness is deliberate—and it’s exactly what makes her a singular pop star.”

True to form, the multi-platinum, multi-hyphenate phenomenon doesn’t merely write songs—she builds worlds with unwavering intention. This era unfolds as a dystopian, cinematic landscape that feels uncomfortably familiar, less fantasy and more a fractured mirror of the present moment.

On the announcement, Melanie shares: “Each song on this record explores a different trap set by the kind of evil, patriarchal energy that is HADES. It isn’t about predicting a dystopian future. It’s about recognizing destructive patterns that already exist. The same dynamics repeating in different places. Control disguised as protection. Cruelty framed as logic. Exploitation sold as opportunity. Once you start noticing those threads, it becomes hard to ignore them.”

With 30 billion+ global streams, 5.54 billion official YouTube views and 62.2 million+ followers across platforms, Melanie Martinez has stretched, shaped, and molded alternative pop into an immersive, innovative, and inimitable world of her own design. Since emerging in 2012, the New York-born Latin-American singer, songwriter, director, and visionary has not only blurred the lines between genres, but also between reality and fantasy, beckoning audiences into the warm embrace of her singular artistry. Martinez broke ground with her iconic 2015 debut LP, CRY BABY. The 2x-Platinum album, celebrated its 10th anniversary last year and is mother to the 3x-Platinum “Dollhouse,” 2x-Platinum staples “Pity Party,” “Play Date,” “Pacify Her,” “Carousel,” “Mad Hatter,” and “Soap,” and Platinum favorites “Training Wheels,” “Sippy Cup,” “Alphabet Boy,” and “Tag, Your It.” After vaulting to #6 on the Billboard 200, this debut has gone on to log 208 non-consecutive weeks on the chart. In its wake, she notched two consecutive Top 3 debuts on the Billboard 200 with the Platinum-certified K-12 (2019) and PORTALS (2023). All three albums debuted #1 on the Billboard Alternative chart.

Upon the release of K-12 Melanie also made her film debut with an accompanying musical of the same name which upon its release was #6 at the box office worldwide. On her tour for this record, she donated a dollar of every ticket to The Trevor Project. PORTALS debuted on the Billboard 200 at #2 and spawned “VOID” and “DEATH,” her first original songs to debut on the Billboard Hot 100. 2023 also saw Melanie release a perfume line in partnership with Flower Shop Perfumes. This is after her original perfume, CRY BABY, which was self-released in 2016 and was a sold-out success. The collection has since expanded to include candles, body sprays, and perfume pendants. Her fragrances have quickly emerged as a standout in the category, ranking among the top five best sellers at ScentBar, the nation’s leading indie fragrance retailer. In 2024, Martinez embarked on her first-ever global arena headline tour, The Trilogy Tour, packing legendary venues on multiple continents, including sold-out successive nights at NYC’s Madison Square Garden. 2024 also saw the artist headline the world-famous Lollapalooza Festival in Chicago and the Corona Capital Festival in Mexico City.

Grammy Winner Justin Gray Explores Immersive Recording With Immersive Design Labs Array

0

Grammy-winning and Juno Award-winning artist, engineer, and producer Justin Gray has been at the forefront of immersive music production for over a decade. For a recent project slated for release in 2026, he turned to Immersive Design Labs’ microphone array to capture immersive recordings at the source, creating deeper, richer, and more authentic sound. The IDL 7.0.4 Recording Array is an 11-microphone system with seven microphones capturing the horizontal soundfield and four positioned above to reproduce height information for immersive formats such as Dolby Atmos and Sony 360 RA. Gray explains what drew him to the technology: “Based on my experience as a spatial remixer, when we try to take something recorded for stereo and stretch it around a space, we’re already fighting a battle. Sometimes it works, and sometimes I just wish I could go back to the source and capture the sound and its relationship to the space around it.”

The IDL array makes native immersive capture possible while keeping sessions centered on the performance. Gray says, “It makes it much easier for engineers to capture immersive recordings natively at the source. The microphones are beautifully calibrated, sound great, and the setup comes together fast and precisely. As a producer and engineer, it got me to making music faster and made the technology more invisible to the artists. In the end, what matters most is the music.” For Gray, the music always comes first, and he believes the technology behind immersive recording should never overshadow the musicianship. He explains, “There is a moment when a musician is warming up and you can tell they are ready to perform. The worst thing you can do is not be prepared to capture that. A good producer will say, ‘Wherever the microphone is, we are hitting record,’ because the music comes first.” His Grammy-winning project ‘IMMERSED’ exemplifies an approach to recording as a form of composition, with every note conceived, recorded, and mixed with immersive intent. Gray notes, “The technology is actually a compositional tool, because I can balance perspective. I can layer multiple passes of a vocalist or write parts for percussion and tabla that fill all fifteen speakers in a way that simply could not be played live.”
