Furthermore, Strings released his latest full-length studio album, Highway Prayers, this past fall, which debuted at #1 on Billboard’s all-genre Top Album Sales Chart—the first time in 22 years that a bluegrass album has been the top-selling album across genres. Released via Reprise Records, Highway Prayers was produced by Strings and Jon Brion (Fiona Apple, Mac Miller, Aimee Mann) and continues to receive widespread critical attention, with GQ calling Strings “the hottest roots-music phenomenon in decades” and Pitchfork praising, “the bluegrass wunderkind expands his palette, exploring new textures and emotional registers while staying true to his beloved genre.” Listen to Highway Prayers HERE.

Parker McCollum Announces Self-Titled Fifth Album Out June 27

0

On Friday night, March 21, multi-Platinum-selling country superstar Parker McCollum stunned a sold-out crowd at the famed RODEOHOUSTON by announcing his forthcoming fifth studio album, PARKER MCCOLLUM, out on June 27 on MCA Nashville. McCollum gave an explosive performance at his third consecutive sold-out appearance at RODEOHOUSTON and the lucky crowd got first access to pre-save his upcoming album.

PARKER MCCOLLUM is an artistic achievement that is grounded in honest introspection and sonically evokes the spirit of Texas. Produced by Grammy Award-winning Frank Lindell and recorded at the legendary Power Station recording studio in New York City, the project is imbued with emotional intensity and masterful storytelling. McCollum revisits the emotions around his unencumbered “wild years,” the pressures of measuring up to public and personal standards, some of the bad decisions, and the unfathomable blessings that have all colored his life to this point.

“It is the best thing I’ve ever done. This record is honest, this record is raw, this record is one thousand percent authentic, Parker, and it feels really good to get back to writing and recording songs like I always wanted to.”
Parker McCollum

McCollum hits the mark with an album that authentically blends the sounds of the classic country records that stand the test of time with mainstream appeal. Writing on all tracks, excluding two cover songs, he returns to the sound of the Limestone Kid with more life lived and a new perspective. Teaming with celebrated songwriters such as Monty Criswell, Natalie Hemby, Randy Montana, Lori McKenna, Jon Randall, Randy Rogers, Liz Rose, and more, this album is a start to end experience that is a cohesive standout project by McCollum.

McCollum’s sold-out RODEOHOUSTON show saw the Conroe, Texas-native at his best. Performing to a season record crowd of 71,216 fans, McCollum and his band took the star-shaped stage playing a 12-song set. The evening was a night full of energy and unforgettable moments including son, Major, making his rodeo debut, and an on-stage proposal in front of a supportive packed house.

Recently, McCollum announced Fall tour dates for his PARKER MCCOLLUM TOUR. For additional information, including upcoming show dates and tickets, please visit ParkerMcCollum.com.Singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Parker McCollum has reached the ranks of a bona fide country music superstar by connecting with fans and critics alike through his relatable and authentic sound. His most recent album, Never Enough (May 12, 2023), is a statement collection of music that cemented his status as one of country’s strongest new voices. His massive Burn It Down Tour throughout 2024 saw McCollum performing at some of the most iconic venues around the nation and appearing at country music’s top music festivals. McCollum has been named an ‘Artist to Watch’ by Rolling StoneBillboard, SiriusXM, CMT, RIAA, and more with American Songwriter noting, “The Texas native teeters on the edge of next-level superstardom.” MusicRow listed McCollum as their 2021 Breakout Artist of the Year and Apple also included him as one of their all-genre “Up Next Artists” Class of 2021. A dedicated road warrior, McCollum made his debut at the famed Grand Ole Opry in 2021 and has sold out major concert venues around the U.S. In March 2022, McCollum made his debut at RODEOHOUSTON to a sold-out crowd with over 73,000 tickets sold. In 2025, McCollum played his third consecutive sold out show at Houston’s signature event. In 2022, McCollum earned his first ACM Award for New Male Artist of the Year, took home “Breakthrough Video of the Year” (a fully fan-voted honor) at the 2022 CMT Music Awards and scored two back-to-back CMA Awards nominations (2022 & 2023) for New Artist of the Year. He was nominated for a CMA Award for Song of the Year (2024) for his explosive Platinum hit “Burn It Down” – marking his third straight nomination. McCollum scored his second ACM Award for Visual Media of the Year for his music video for “Burn It Down.” The hit single marks his fourth consecutive No. 1 – following his other chart toppers “Pretty Heart,” “To Be Loved By You,” and “Handle On You.” McCollum’s latest single, the foot-stomping, shoot-it-straight, “What Kinda Man,” impacting Country radio now, shows his return to the musical Texas roots that got him started. During his third consecutive sold out appearance at the famed RodeoHouston, McCollum announced his latest self-titled album, PARKER MCCOLLUM, due out on June 27.

Niall Horan Brings the Storm Again With Expanded ‘Heartbreak Weather’ Anniversary Edition

0

Niall Horan will celebrate the fifth anniversary of Heartbreak Weather, his acclaimed sophomore album, with an expanded edition, scheduled for digital release on March 28. The CD and two-disc deluxe vinyl editions will follow on August 15. All versions will feature commemorative artwork and eight bonus tracks: studio versions of “Dress” and “Nothing,” live recordings of “Small Talk” and “Dear Patience” (from Horan’s 2020 livestreamed performance at London’s Royal Albert Hall), “Put A Little Love on Me” (recorded at Vevo studios), an in-studio live recording of “No Judgement” and stripped-down versions of “Nice To Meet Ya” and “Black and White.” Pre-order HERE.

Containing two sea-blue and white splatter discs, the deluxe vinyl edition will feature the exclusive bonus track “Everywhere – Live On Tour,” recorded during Horan’s “THE SHOW” LIVE ON TOUR 2024. The textured gatefold jacket will feature raised lettering, a die-cut lightning bolt on the cover and raindrop inner gatefold. Heartbreak Weather era photos will be printed on the inner sleeves and a lyric book will be included. The deluxe vinyl edition will be available exclusively at Horan’s official store. In addition, the original version of Heartbreak Weather will be available in a new pressing featuring baby blue vinyl and the new artwork.

Originally released on March 13, 2020, Heartbreak Weather debuted at No. 1 on the U.K.’s Official Albums chart and Billboard’s Top Album Sales chart. The first leg of Horan’s North American tour was set to launch on April 20, but the COVID-19 pandemic brought touring to a halt. In November 2020, Horan played a show (without an audience) at London’s prestigious Royal Albert Hall. Streamed worldwide, all profits were shared by Niall’s touring crew and the #WeNeedCrew relief fund, a hardship fund for the touring industry.

“The release date, which had been planned for months and months in advance, ended up being right as the pandemic started,” Horan recalled in a recent social media post to his fans. “With all of that happening and in turn the tour being cancelled, it wasn’t until last year that I finally got to see you all sing these songs back to me. The way it’s become a fan favourite over these past few years has truly made me so happy.”

Rolling Stone named Heartbreak Weather as one of the most anticipated albums of 2020 and praised the “sultry single” “No Judgement.” Billboard hailed lead single “Nice To Meet Ya” as “Horan’s most daring track yet.” American Songwriter noted, “Horan guns right for the eye of heartbreak’s storm…He feels the sting quite viscerally, yet instead of writhing around in his misery, he fashions his acoustic guitar in new smoldering settings or opts to dance it out into the wee hours of the morning.”

Heartbreak Weather’ is nearly a concept album,” Horan explained in 2020. “I wanted to write these songs from the start of a relationship through to the end – and from different sides –  instead of every song being quite sad and all about me. Because when you go through a breakup, it’s not sad all the time.”

A near-lifelong songwriter who taught himself to play guitar as a kid in Ireland – and who names attending an Eagles concert at age four as a pivotal moment in shaping his sensibilities – Horan has sold over 80 million records and toured the globe multiple times as part of the iconic One Direction. In 2017, he made his full-length solo debut with Flicker, a Platinum-certified and chart-topping album featuring the triple-Platinum single “Slow Hands.” Heartbreak Weather followed in 2020 and topped the U.K.’s Official Albums chart and Billboard’s Top Album Sales chart. He joined NBC’s The Voice” in 2023 and logged two consecutive wins as a coach with the victories of contestants Gina Miles and Huntley. His third album, The Show, was released in 2023 and debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s Top Album Sales tally and also topped the charts in the U.K., Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, Holland and Belgium.

Primus Announces Onward & Upward Tour With Ty Segall and MonoNeon on Select Dates

0

Following their electrifying run on the Sessanta tour alongside A Perfect Circle and Puscifer, Primus will return this summer with the Onward & Upward Tour—an expansive, coast-to-coast trek that marks an exciting new chapter for the band. The tour not only brings the trio’s signature blend of musical innovation back to stages nationwide, but also introduces fans to drummer John Hoffman, whose recent addition to the lineup brings a renewed sense of energy, experimentation, and groove to the legendary outfit.

Kicking off July 5th in Paso Robles, CA, the Onward & Upward Tour will hit 24 cities across the U.S., making stops at iconic venues like Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Colorado, The Salt Shed in Chicago, The Rooftop at Pier 17 in New York, and The Greek Theatre in Los Angeles, before culminating in a celebratory two-night stand at Channel 24 in Sacramento on August 7th and 8th. Along the way, Primus will be joined by a pair of equally bold and idiosyncratic artists—Ty Segall and MonoNeon—who will appear on select dates throughout the tour.

A special VIP & Artist Presale launches Wednesday, March 26th at 10am local time. Tickets go on sale to the general public on Friday, March 28th at 10am local time. For more information and to purchase tickets, visit: https://primusville.com

The Onward & Upward tour borrows its name from the ever-mutating DNA of Primus itself—a band that’s never been content to sit still or play it straight. That spirit of constant evolution is now hurtling forward with the addition of drummer John Hoffman, whose arrival marks a bold new chapter for the trio. Selected from more than 6,200 global applicants during the band’s wide-open audition process, Hoffman’s deep pocket, wild musical mind, and immediate chemistry with Les Claypool and Larry LaLonde made him the clear choice.

Les Claypool shared the following statement about the tour and the band’s newest member:

Hitting the road this summer with Hoffer at the helm! This fiery, cheerful, octopus-like drummer from Shreveport, Louisiana has breathed a very potent breath of freshness into this band we all call PRIMUS.

While splitting the drum duties of his first gig with the mighty Danny Carey down in the Dominican Republic, John “Hoffer” Hoffman has launched himself into the PRIMUS world with all guns-a-blazin’. Fresh from their next jaunt around the states with Sessanta Part 2 this Spring, Hoffer, Ler, and The Ol’ Colonel will be playing some full length PRIMUS sets at choice venues across the US, dipping into material (mainly at the request of Hoffer) that have not been performed in a many years.

Come see why this amazing fellow was able to rise above over 6100 applicants to win the Interstellar Drum Derby and become the latest, and possibly the greatest, drummer to sit on the PRIMUS drum throne.

ONWARD AND UPWARD!!”

The search for a new drummer was recently chronicled in the band’s newly launched YouTube series, Interstellar Drum Derby, which gives fans an inside look at the journey that led to Hoffman’s selection. With his first full tour on the horizon, Onward & Upward promises to deliver the next wave of Primus’ creative vision.

The Indigenous Music Office welcomes its inaugural cohort in the Cultural Cadence mentorship program to Vancouver for the 2025 JUNO Awards. Workshops, speakers and industry events will take place alongside the national music industry gathering as the culmination to the four-month professional development program launched in 2024. The IMO is grateful to be hosted by the Squamish, Musqueam and Tsleil-Waututh nations.

The IMO is pleased to introduce its First Nations, Inuit and Métis participants, a dynamic and enterprising group of emerging Indigenous entrepreneurs from different communities and roles with a shared dedication to the growth of the Indigenous music ecosystem.

Cultural Cadence Participants:
– Cassidy Mann (Sagkeeng First Nation, MB)
– Curtis Clearsky (Anishinaabe and Nitsitapii, BC)
– Dawn Ferguson (Metis-Cree, AB)
– Gerard Wolfe/Mahihkan (Muskowekwan First Nation, SK)
– Gladwyn Badger (Neyhiyaw, AB/ON)
– January Rogers (Six Nations of the Grand River, ON)
– Leanne Goose (Inuvik, NT)
– Malaya Bishop (Iqaluit, NU)
– Tess Ray Houston (Red River Métis, MB)
– Evan Syliboy (Millbrook First Nation, NS)

Cultural Cadence mentors and presenters who will join the cohort in Vancouver this week include Tessa Balaz, Jason Burnstick, David Cox, MJ Dandeneau, Mike Denney, Tara Di Giuseppe, Alan Greyeyes, Noel Habel, Angelika Heim, Tewanee Joseph, Shoshona Kish, Joelle May, Margaret McGuffin, Amanda Rheaume, Mauricio Ruiz, Sun Sun, Amie Therrien and Kim Wheeler.

“The majority of Indigenous artists in Canada don’t have managers or teams,” explains Alan Greyeyes, IMO chairperson. “I’m excited about this project because it supports the development of managers and administrative talent who know just how daunting the road travelled by Indigenous artists is because they’ve had to walk it too.”

Created to support career advancement for emerging Indigenous music industry professionals, the new program reflects the IMO’s commitment to building capacity and creating pathways for professional development. Cultural Cadence program partners include Music Managers Forum Canada (MMF Canada) and Full Circle: First Nations Performance.
