Psychic Fever Releases Music Video for Modern R&B Single “Reflection”

0

The next generation global boy group Psychic Fever has released the music video for their new single “Reflection,” which is available everywhere out now on all digital streaming platforms. As the lead track from their upcoming third original EP, PSYCHIC FILE III, the song blends the essence of 90s and 2000s R&B with inspiration from DrillnB’s atmosphere and sequencing, pursuing a cutting edge sound. The track served as the powerful opening number for their PSYCHIC FEVER LIVE TOUR 2025 “EVOLVE” in JAPAN, which took place in June.

The music video, directed by YERD, makes bold use of 3DCG, creating a striking visual experience that focuses on self awareness and artistic evolution. The group shared their excitement, stating: “The music video for ‘Reflection’ packs in the shine of mirrors, the city, and raw emotion. Built around the phrase in the lyrics ‘tell me now, what’s your vibe’, it explores the themes of ‘discovering yourself through someone else’ and ‘the person who brings out your glow’, creating a mysterious, slightly thrilling world where fantasy and reality intertwine.” This release follows the resounding success of their sold out U.S. tour earlier this year and a standout appearance at SXSW 2025 in Austin, Texas, showcasing their seamless blend of unique sounds and cutting edge choreography.

Joyce Manor Drops Brett Gurewitz-Produced Single “All My Friends Are So Depressed”

0

SoCal punk rockers Joyce Manor have returned with their first new music in three years, the Brett Gurewitz produced single “All My Friends Are So Depressed,” which is available everywhere out now. The track, which arrives alongside an official music video, is equally inspired by the jangly melancholy of The Smiths and the hyperpop flow of 100 Gecs, further cementing the band as one of our generation’s most catchy and consistent bands. Vocalist and guitarist Barry Johnson explained the song’s genesis, saying his initial line was inspired by a “Tecate delivery truck with Jesus sh*t all over it,” which quickly led to the concept of the song, describing it as his take on Lana Del Rey lyrics, only instead of “icy, detached cool 50’s Americana,” it is “dirty shag carpet, bong rips, Peter Frampton Comes Alive, key lime pie and suicidal ideations.”

Musically, the trio was drawing from influences like The Libertines, Tiger Army, and X, while embracing a surprisingly soft, acoustic laced side that is both extremely Joyce Manor and unlike any other song in their catalog. The single follows the release of 2023’s ’40 oz. to Fresno’, a record that the New York Times praised as “a relentlessly tuneful 17 minute collection of all killer, no filler power pop.” Since that release, the band has stayed busy, touring and collaborating with Weezer, making their television debut on Everybody’s Live with John Mulaney, and celebrating the 10 year anniversary of ‘Never Hungover Again’, a record that Stereogum said “masterfully achieves what most artists spend their lives trying to accomplish.”

Just a few short days after being inducted into the Texas Country Music Hall of Fame, the legendary Western Swing outfit Asleep At The Wheel has released their new album, ‘Riding High In Texas’, which is out now via Bismeaux Records and Signature Sounds Recordings. This ten song collection celebrates the band’s 50th anniversary of calling the Lone Star State home, featuring some of the best songs about Texas from songwriters like Jimmie Rogers, Guy Clark, and Charlie Daniels. The latest single from the album finds the band, helmed by Ray Benson, taking on the classic “Long Tall Texan,” first released by The Four Flickers in 1959.

Benson joked about the appropriateness of the track, saying, “I thought this would be a fun one to do, considering I am a ‘long tall Texan. It’s been recorded by many and in many different styles. We got our great friend Lyle Lovett to join us, and a great time was had!” The album boasts other A list collaborations, including a feature with Billy Strings. For a band whose lineup is constantly changing, ‘Riding High In Texas’ also introduces a new face, fiddler and vocalist Ian Stewart, who joined Benson and company at the suggestion of longtime band member Danny Levin. Benson affirmed the addition, stating, “Danny’s word was enough for me. He knows the gig as much as anyone.”

The collective exploded onto the scene last month, featuring four standout creatives: multidisciplinary artist ELI, actress and musician BLU JAY, singer, producer, and visual artist JACK XANDER, and Italian vocalist, producer, and model DILL. Following the breakout success of their debut track, “BABYGIRL,” which Post Punk praised as “the sound of four distinct artists catching fire together,” “MONEY!” arrives as a gritty, funky pop punk track with a snarky hook and potent flashes of new wave and brat energy, firmly cementing their genre blending sound.

The single is accompanied by a high fashion visual shot dramatically between the Alps and Los Angeles, created in collaboration with the renowned Italian label Just Cavalli. ELI explained the artistic link, saying, “‘MONEY!,’ continues this ongoing dialogue between fashion and music, featuring visuals styled in collaboration with the renowned Italian label Just Cavalli, under the creative direction of Daniele Lombardo.” The group continues to redefine the intersection of music, art, and fashion, blending punk energy, industrial pop sounds, and boundary pushing style. Machine Girl Returns with Frenetic New Single “Come On Baby Scrape My Data”

0

The New York based electronic hardcore project Machine Girl, now operating as a trio helmed by Matt Stephenson, has released their first new music since 2024’s successful ‘MG Ultra’ with the track “Come On Baby Scrape My Data,” which is available everywhere out now. Layering a guttural bassline atop a woozy old school computer loop, the song conjures a frenetic bounce from the depths of cyberspace, offering a thrilling soundscape of digital chaos. Stephenson reveals the song was inspired by the unsettling feeling of modern technology, explaining, “It was written after experiencing something creepy and fucked up either with A.I. or the surveillance state. My phone knows me way too well—which is a feeling we’ve all gotten very used to within the last ten years. The song teases big tech companies, taunting them to come and try to take our data and identities.” The track is a powerful statement, capturing the paranoia of the information age while delivering a high energy, addictive electronic beat.

Beyond Extinction’s Debut Album ‘Where They Gather’ Is Out Now, Featuring Cataclysmic Single “Apache”

0

Essex’s resident death metallers Beyond Extinction have released their debut full length album, the anthropic ‘Where They Gather’, which is out now. The record was preceded by the music video for their cataclysmic new single “Apache,” a devastating track that features guest vocals from Ingested’s Josh Davies. Inspired by the harrowing events of the Iraq war, the 12th July Baghdad Airstrike, and the Abu Ghraib torture scandal, “Apache” is an explosive and rapid paced track. It stands out on the album for its structure and unrelenting delivery, proving that Beyond Extinction commands more tools than just the low and slow speed with which they dominate the deathcore scene.

Vocalist and lyricist Jasper Harmer explains the track’s grim perspective, saying: “This song is a soundtrack to the incredible violence which man can bring upon man. ‘Apache’ puts us in the pilot’s seat, behind the controls and with our fingers on the triggers. A first person view of the sickening and terrifying destructive potential of humans and our governments’ desperate need for control.” The band uses this track as a push to understand the horror of modern combat and the tools with which our societies and ideals grow. Having recently completed select headline dates and successful co headline shows with To Obey A Tyrant, the deathcore warriors will also be teaming up with Gutrectomy and Kanine, as well as performing an opening slot at London’s Underworld with To The Grave and Osiah.
