Metal Titans In Flames Announce Extensive Summer 2026 European Tour

Swedish metal innovators In Flames are making a huge return to Europe in the summer of 2026 with one of their most extensive and diverse live runs to date, stretching from mid-July to late August across more than twenty cities and many of the continent’s most iconic festivals. Armed with their unmistakable blend of atmosphere, melody, and aggression, In Flames will headline a powerful mix of major club shows, outdoor events, and top-tier festivals, promising a setlist that celebrates their incredible legacy while aggressively pushing forward into new creative territory. The tour will feature fantastic support acts including Bleed From Within, Employed To Serve, and Kittie on select dates.

The massive tour will see the band hit major festivals like Wacken Open Air, Masters of Rock, and Summer Breeze, with stops in Poland, Czech Republic, Austria, Italy, Spain, and more. The tour culminates in In Flames’ own hometown festival, Göteborg Brinner, which they will headline on top of a beautifully curated line-up consisting of formidable acts like Avatar, Dark Tranquility, Raised Fist, Thrown, Napalm Death, Gaerea, and Múr. Cork’s Cardinals Release Darkly Melodic New Single “Barbed Wire” Ahead Of Debut Album

Following a nearly month-long run on the road, Cork’s Cardinals return today with another highlight from their upcoming debut album, the swaggeringly melodic but darkly worded single, “Barbed Wire.” Frontman Euan Manning revealed the surprising historical and literary inspiration for the latest track to land from their record. He stated, “It’s very much inspired by the history of our city and the Gaol house that stood on the south gate bridge many years ago, lyrically I had hoped to evoke images of silhouetted city walls and security fences.” Manning also noted that Kevin Barry’s novel City of Bohane served as inspiration for a gothic re-imagining of Cork, confirming that sometimes “aesthetics can carry a song from its inception to its completion.”

“Barbed Wire,” which lands alongside a striking black and white video directed by Xander Lewis, is the fourth single taken from the band’s much-anticipated debut album, ‘Masquerade’. The ten-song collection is set to arrive on the tastemaker label So Young Records on February 13th and was recorded across the summer with producer Shrink at RAK Studios in London. ‘Masquerade’ is a record that is at once intimate and grand, fully awash with romance and intriguing flickers of holy imagery, ultimately fulfilling the immense promise the band has shown since their earliest beginnings. This is a band forged through both family and friendship—featuring brothers Euan and Finn Manning, their cousin Darragh, and former schoolmates Oskar Gudinovic and Aaron Hurley—who have already positioned themselves at the vanguard of the Irish independent rock scene.

The songs on the album are emotionally expansive, with certain tracks like “Anhedonia,” “The Burning of Cork,” and the title track, “Barbed Wire,” simmering with an undercurrent of cynical discontent, while others gleam with a bright-eyed vulnerability. The record contrasts a vivid first half with a darker second, crafting a deliberate A-side and B-side feel, a clear nod to the band’s collective love of vinyl. This clever tonal shift takes its cue from a wide variety of unexpected influences, spanning from the brittle honesty of folk music to the theatrical melodrama of goth-rock. With the release of ‘Masquerade’, Cardinals have flung off any shackles to successfully craft something entirely their own, cementing their place as a crucial new voice in rock.

The highly compelling Irish musical project How I Became A Wave, led by Cork songwriter Pat Carey and featuring a collective of Ireland’s finest musicians, has released a brand new single, “05:00” (pronounced “five A.M.”). This beautifully delicate winter track is inspired by the Eavan Boland poetry collection Night Feed and sees the group exploring more minimal, luminous textures. Fishbone Unveil Hard-Hitting Video For Single “All About Us”

Veteran genre disruptors Fishbone unveil the new video for “All About Us”, the latest visual from their critically acclaimed album Stockholm Syndrome.

With “All About Us,” Fishbone sharpens their focus on the ongoing struggle between economic justice and unchecked privilege—proving once again that their voice, their vision, and their fight are as vital as ever.

Anchored by archival footage from the 1934 Hal Roach Our Gang episode “Hi Neighbor!”, the video draws a bold parallel between Depression-era socioeconomic inequality and the still-escalating divide between today’s wealthy elite and America’s working class. In the clip, the neighborhood kids portrayed as poor or working-class are pitted against an affluent child determined to outshine them, creating a comedic yet pointed contrast between the haves and the have-nots. Nearly a century later, the themes remain painfully familiar.

“‘All About Us’ tells the story of negating the single idea and considering the one idea. Anything but your individual idea. A sociopathic/narcissistic perspective,” says Angelo Moore.  The video underscores the message: when people stand together, they are powerful, and the struggle against economic and social imbalances are far from new.

The most famous music played when teams enter the pitch in the Premier League

The right song can be used to add immensely to the atmosphere in a football stadium. It’s therefore no surprise to see that the top teams in the Premier League all have great songs that help to crank up the excitement before their games begin. 

Liverpool – ‘You’ll Never Walk Alone’

Arguably the most famous example of a song being used in football, ‘You’ll Never Walk Alone’, was written for the 1945 Rogers and Hammerstein musical Carousel. It became a massive hit when Liverpool’s Gerry and the Pacemakers released a pop version in 1963, and its lyrics about overcoming hardship and keeping hope in your heart immediately made it a favourite among the passionate fans in the Kop at Anfield.

While it’s now part of the proud history of Liverpool, it’s also sung by Celtic fans in Scotland, Borussia Dortmund supporters in Germany, and fans of various other clubs. As to the question of which is the best version, some fans point to the emotional singing after the 2019 Champions League final, while others mention the 2025 Premier League title party or the many other famous, emotion-filled versions.

West Ham United – ‘I’m Forever Blowing Bubbles’

This unlikely story began in 1919 when ‘I’m Forever Blowing Bubbles’ was released in the US, becoming a major hit for Ben Selvin’s Novelty Orchestra. Fast forward a few years and we find a young West Ham player called William ‘Bubbles’ Murray. Although he never played a single minute of first-team football, Murray’s time at the club led to fans singing the song to encourage the players. 

It quickly cemented a place as the classic West Ham song, with a house band sometimes leading the fans into the tune. One of the most surreal moments in the league’s history came before a game against Middlesbrough in 1999, when 23,680 Hammers fans set the world record for the most people blowing bubbles at the same time.

Manchester City – ‘Blue Moon’

This song by Rodgers and Hart was written in the 1930s and has been covered by artists from Elvis Presley to Rod Stewart and Bob Dylan. Yet we need to jump forward to 1989 to find out when it was adopted by Manchester City fans as their anthem.

The first time it was sung by the fans may have been in a game against Liverpool at the start of the 1989-90 season, though other sources suggest that it may have made its debut in an uncharacteristic away win against Aston Villa a few seasons earlier. With lyrics about feeling sad and lonely, it soon became a way of showing frustration at the team’s poor form at the time, while pointing out the hope that things would soon get better.    

Manchester United – ‘This Is the One’

Former Manchester United captain Gary Neville has said that he helped choose this Stone Roses track as the song that players walk out to at Old Trafford. This is from the band’s 1989 self-titled debut album. Neville has explained in interviews that he wanted a new song for the team when he was made captain, and that it still gives him goosebumps when he hears it before a game.

It wasn’t an official Arsenal song, but enough fans noticed it on social media to grab the attention of manager Mikel Arteta and earn Dunford an invitation to meet the players.

Arteta said that the lyrics provoked an emotional reaction from the players the first time they heard it sung in the stadium. This led to it becoming the official Arsenal song that is played before the players take the field at the Emirates Stadium for each home game. The former stadium at Highbury and other iconic local spots are mentioned in the lyrics, making it a song that hits home each time it’s sung.

These examples show how Premier League anthems can come from a variety of backgrounds. The important thing is that they inspire the fans and players to feel part of something special.
