Toad The Wet Sprocket Announces 2025 Good Intentions Tour with Semisonic, KT Tunstall, and Sixpence None the Richer

0

Toad The Wet Sprocket continue to uplift audiences with their melodic alt rock guitars, introspective lyrics, and signature vocal harmonies that catapulted them to mainstream success 30+ years ago on the 2025 Good Intentions U.S. headlining tour.

Joining the band throughout the 26-date run are Semisonic, KT Tunstall and Sixpence None the Richer in select markets. Limited VIP packages and new Good Intentions merchandise available this week at Toad The Wet Sprocket Online.

Throughout their career, Toad The Wet Sprocket have been staunchly independent in their artistic integrity. “We were young and it was us against the record company,” recalls guitarist Todd Nichols of their early days. “We had a bit of punk-rock ethos.”

This commitment to stay true to themselves, and DIY mentality also spilled over into the enduring relationship with their fans. Amassing a mailing list of 70,000 at the start of their career, the band forged deep connections with a devout and loyal core of fans, who they’ve continued to grow with. “It’s like a reunion of sorts,” reflects bassist Dean Dinning. “It’s almost like having family in the audience every night.”

Following the success of their second platinum selling album, Dulcinea, Toad The Wet Sprocket released a collection of b-sides and rarities, In Light Syrup, in 1995. The album single, “Good Intentions” – the namesake of this upcoming tour – found success at radio peaking at #23 on the Billboard Hot 100 Airplay chart and is featured amongst the likes of R.E.M., The Rembrandts, and Barnaked Ladies on the platinum-selling Friends soundtrack. It has since been in rotation on set lists including their most recent tours.

“I think the enduring appeal of our band is the songs,” says Dean. “Even though we were young when we made those early records, they don’t only speak to youth. As people have grown older, the songs have taken on new meaning in their lives.”

“As an artist, it feels good to know we can still make music that’s resonating,” adds singer Glen Phillips. “When we play ‘The Moment’ or ‘Transient Whales’ at our shows now, there’s a huge percentage of the audience who know every word of those songs, too.”

As in years past, Toad The Wet Sprocket will partner with a non-profit organization with shared values to inspire fans and give back. This year, Toad The Wet Sprocket will spotlight the National Parks Foundation to support and protect our natural treasures.

In addition to the 2025 Good Intentions headlining tour, Toad The Wet Sprocket are putting the finishing touches on an acoustic greatest hits album, set for release later this year.

‘Tom Petty: Heartbreakers Beach Party’ Now Streaming Exclusively on Paramount+

0

TOM PETTY: HEARTBREAKERS BEACH PARTY is now available to stream exclusively on Paramount+ today in the U.S. and Canada, and tomorrow, March 12th, in the UK, Australia, Latin America, France, Italy, and Germany. This marks the first time the fully restored version of the classic ‘80s documentary from legendary, Academy Award®-winning director Cameron Crowe (Almost Famous, Jerry Maguire) has been made widely available to a global audience.

TOM PETTY: HEARTBREAKERS BEACH PARTY is a fun, candid, fast-paced, and musically rich ride with America’s greatest rock & roll band—a time capsule of the dawn of the MTV era and a rare, shining glimpse into Tom Petty’s lasting creative genius. Featuring nearly 20 minutes of never-before-seen bonus content, including new commentary from Crowe himself, the film offers in-depth interviews, electrifying live performances, and unprecedented intimate access to Petty and the band.

Originally airing only once on MTV in February 1983, the tapes from Crowe’s directorial debut were finally found in 2024, nearly 40 years after they became folklore to fans, musicians, and the entertainment industry at large. The highly anticipated film, restored from its original 16mm source, is an era-defining look at rock & roll, capturing Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers as they finish, promote, and tour the groundbreaking Long After Dark album—the band’s third and final project with legendary producer Jimmy Iovine.

“Heartbreakers Beach Party occupies a special place in my heart,” said Crowe. “Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers leaned into the making of the film with a kind of hilarious, music-filled honesty that still feels fresh forty years later. It was also my first experience as a director. Thanks to Adria Petty and the Petty estate, along with our co-filmmakers Danny Bramson, Phil Savenick, Doug Dowdle, and Greg Mariotti, we’re bringing it back in all its reckless glory. I’m especially happy to add a postscript with the never-seen outtake footage I always treasured. The fact that the original film was yanked from MTV after only one airing shows that it was, and still is, an outlandish feast for fans in the best ways. Turn it up!!”

Over his 40-year career, Tom Petty became a beloved American rock & roll icon, world-renowned for his songwriting and his incredible band, The Heartbreakers. In addition to the 13 studio albums he made with The Heartbreakers, Petty recorded three solo albums, including the acclaimed Full Moon Fever and Wildflowers. Petty was also a member of the supergroup Traveling Wilburys and, before The Heartbreakers, the band Mudcrutch.

Hailed as one of the greatest popular music artists of all time, Petty’s honors include induction into the Songwriters Hall of Fame and the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, along with multiple Grammy Awards. He sold over 85 million records, amassed over 5 billion streams, and performed for more than 140 million fans worldwide. Tom Petty passed away in 2017, shortly after completing his 40th-anniversary tour, leaving behind a trove of unreleased material. His music continues to reach fans—both new and old—around the world today.
About The Tom Petty Estate

Established in 2018 by Tom Petty’s family after his untimely passing, the Tom Petty Estate continues to honor the life and legacy of one of America’s greatest rock artists and songwriters. Through innovative storytelling and forward-thinking initiatives, the Estate ensures that Petty’s impact continues to reach generations to come.

Just last year, some of Petty’s closest friends and collaborators came together to lovingly curate Petty Country: A Country Music Celebration of Tom Petty, via Big Machine Records in partnership with the Tom Petty Estate. Most recently, the family opened their archives to share an expansive deluxe edition of the groundbreaking album Long After Dark alongside the cult-classic documentary of the same era from Cameron Crowe, TOM PETTY: HEARTBREAKERS BEACH PARTY.

Petty is widely recognized and remembered for his philanthropy and service to the communities he called home in Los Angeles and Gainesville, Florida. In that spirit, the Petty Estate aims to extend the late artist’s legacy—both musically and in spirit—by supporting philanthropic and social issues that were close to Petty’s heart.

From their University at Buffalo origins to playing hundreds of shows annually, moe. has built an unwavering bond with their fans, the Famoe.ly, thanks to their tireless touring, inventive musicianship, and genre-defying sound.

Their latest album, Circle of Giants, marks a pivotal moment in the band’s history. The record, praised for its resilience and raw emotion, was nearly complete when Derhak suffered an unthinkable personal loss—the passing of his son. In the face of adversity, the band channeled their grief into a deeply soulful, vibrant, and powerful collection of songs. Featuring the soaring single “Ups and Downs” and the expansive “Living Again,” Circle of Giants is both a tribute to the past and a beacon of hope for the future.

moe. has long been at the forefront of improvisational music, alongside Phish, Widespread Panic, and The String Cheese Incident, earning accolades from American Songwriter and NYS Music for their “mind-bending musicality” and “unbridled showmanship.” Their influence extends to headlining Bonnaroo, Japan’s Fuji Rock, and their own festivals, moe.down and snoe.down, cementing their place in jam band history.

As the band celebrates 35 years, their musical brotherhood remains unbreakable. “We’ve been through a lot,” says Derhak. “But we always find our way forward—because we have each other.”

Warren Haynes and Gibson Announce the Gibson Warren Haynes Les Paul Standard, Available Now

0

Visionary GRAMMY Award-winning artist Warren Haynes, a cornerstone of the American music landscape lauded as one of the most formidable and prolific guitarists, vocalists, songwriters, and producers of the modern era, and Gibson, the iconic leading global instrument brand, have announced their partnership for the release of Haynes’ first signature guitar, the Gibson Warren Haynes Les Paul™ Standard, available worldwide now at the Gibson Garage Nashville and London, at authorized Gibson dealers, and on Gibson.com. Gibson has shaped sound across generations and genres of music, becoming one of the most relevant, played, and loved brands around the world. With instruments that inspire Gibson’s legendary artists and nurture new players transcending generations and genres of music, Gibson has emerged as an industry leader by offering award-winning guitars and new ways for artists to connect and grow.

“I’ve always been a Gibson guy—I got hooked on that sound as a teenager and have been playing them ever since,” says Haynes. “Needless to say, I’m honored to be partnering with Gibson to release my Signature Les Paul Standard. Being traditionally a humbucker guy, I’m really loving the hum-free P-90s. It’s a really cool tonal change, and the boost offers even more tonal options. I’m really enjoying playing this guitar on stage and looking forward to using it in the studio. I’m equally psyched that other guitar players will now have the opportunity to own and play one as well.”

Warren Haynes effortlessly cross-pollinates genres and unfurls solos that broil with passion in his distinctive, signature playing style. Renowned and highly regarded for his work in rock, blues, and Americana music through his work with the Allman Brothers Band, as a founding member of Gov’t Mule, the leader of The Warren Haynes Band, a solo artist, and as a session guitarist and sideman for numerous famous friends and groups. As one of music’s most treasured storytellers, Haynes and his artistry have led to thousands of memorable performances and millions of album and track sales. A master of multiple styles and genres, Warren has also shared his expertise with other players via multiple instructional videos. A self-described “Gibson man,” Warren has used several Gibson models throughout the years, including his cherished ’61 ES-335™, among others.

The new Warren Haynes Les Paul Standard is another standout, with features tailored specifically to Warren’s preferences, including a mahogany body with a plain maple cap, a 60s Cherry finish, a mahogany neck with a chunky 50s vintage profile like all of Warren’s favorite Les Pauls, a rosewood fretboard with acrylic trapezoid inlays and 22 medium jumbo frets, a pair of P-90 DC pickups that deliver hum-free performance with all the sonic nuances of traditional P-90 DC pickups, and a 15 dB boost that can be activated via a mini toggle switch. The quick-access battery compartment is mounted into the control cover on the rear, and the guitar will still function, even if the battery dies, by simply flipping the mini toggle switch to the off position.

Bearing the traditional looks and feel of a 50s-era Les Paul coupled with modern features like hum-free P-90 DC pickups and an onboard boost, the Warren Haynes Les Paul Standard bridges modern and traditional and is a great choice for players who, like Warren, want both a traditional appearance and modern functionality in one outstanding guitar.

Following their recent February run, The Warren Haynes Band – Haynes (vocals, guitar), Terrence Higgins (drums), Kevin Scott (bass), Matt Slocum (keys), Greg Osby (sax) – returns to the road in April and May for the Million Voices Whisper Spring Tour in addition to various headlining and festival appearances this spring and summer including European tour dates. Also in April, Haynes teams back up with The Brothers for their long-awaited return to Madison Square Garden in New York City for two special shows on Tuesday, April 15th and Wednesday, April 16th. The Brothers – Jaimoe (drums, founding member), Warren Haynes (guitars, vocals), Derek Trucks (guitars), Oteil Burbridge (bass), and Marc Quiñones (percussion) with Joe Russo (drums), Reese Wynans (keys), Isaac Eady (drums) and special guest Chuck Leavell (piano) – will continue to celebrate the legacy and influence of The Allman Brothers Band five years after their original debut at the world famous arena. Additionally, Haynes and his Gov’t Mule bandmates (Matt Abts [drums], Danny Louis [keyboards, guitar, and backing vocals], Kevin Scott [bass]) will embark on a run of co-headlining shows with Tedeschi Trucks Band in early September.
