0

Wolverine, the 142-year-old boot and clothing company, is excited to announce their partnership with award winning, multi-platinum singer/songwriter, Jordan Davis. Built upon their shared values, the partnership celebrates the blue-collar mindset: the grit and determination of those working hard and doing what they love, whether on a jobsite, farm or stage.

Wolverine’s longtime commitment to creating comfortable and trustworthy workwear seamlessly complements Jordan’s lifelong passion for the brand. Together there’s a mutual dedication to the skilled trades industry and the need to shine a light on these critical and lucrative career paths.

Jordan Davis’ rise from blue-collar roots to country star reflects the true Wolverine spirit. Raised by generations of skilled trades workers, he learned the value of hard work and grit, watching his dad and grandpa tackle long days in their trusted Wolverine boots. Now, he brings that same dedication to his Tennessee farm, family, and global stages, embodying craftsmanship and community in everything he does.

“My partnership with Wolverine is a special one,” said Jordan Davis. “Growing up, I watched my dad, and his dad do what they love – whether it was fishing or refurbishing furniture at the shop – all with their trusted Wolverine boots on. I learned a lot about life from them, and I take pride in living out the lessons and skills they taught me both while I’m performing on stage and working at my farm. Partnering with Wolverine allows me to honor this legacy and inspire others to do what they love.”

Fans can now shop the “Jordan Davis Picks” collection on Wolverine.com and in select retailers across the country featuring Jordan’s favorite Wolverine boots, apparel, and accessories. Additionally, Jordan is collaborating with Wolverine on a new custom collection set to launch this fall, complemented by events aimed at giving back to the skilled trades community.

“Our work with Jordan Davis perfectly reflects our values at Wolverine. His embodiment of hard work on and off the jobsite and reaping its rewards resonates deeply with our purpose and consumer,” said Lauren King, Sr. Director of Marketing at Wolverine Boots and Apparel. “As a celebrated musician, Jordan shares our commitment and passion for inspiring others to pursue their crafts, giving them the confidence to do what they love and call it work.”

Over the past decade, the festival has blossomed into a vibrant community where filmmakers, musicians, and artists unite to uplift and empower one another. NVISION changes the narrative by shifting perceptions in Latino cinema, amplifying Latin music’s influence and empowering future creatives through education and community. A testament to the festival’s growth in 2024, over 60 percent of women-directed films were submitted.

Miami has long been a cultural heartbeat for Latinos, a city where our stories are lived, created, and celebrated. This move marks a new era for the festival, allowing us to elevate Latino storytelling on an even greater scale. This festival has already transformed the industry, and in Miami, we’re taking it to new heights, creating even greater opportunities for our community to be seen, heard, and celebrated on a global scale,” mentioned Lex Borrero, CEO of NEON16.

The 2025 NVISION Latino Film and Music Festival will showcase a dynamic lineup of film screenings and music performances that champion Latina and Latino talent’s rich diversity and creativity. Including these distinguished individuals reinforces NVISIONS’s mission to profoundly inspire audiences while celebrating the vibrant Latino culture through film and music by providing a platform for artists to share their stories with the world.

DNE Studios & Nonny De La Pena Pushes Boundaries with Volumetric 4D Storytelling of the 1906 Atlanta Race Massacre at SXSW

0

As dawn breaks over Austin during SXSW 2025, a spectral revolution materializes at the intersection of 6th Street and Congress Avenue. Bryonn Bain’s volumetric incarnation of Jesse Max Barber – the Black journalist who documented the 1906 Atlanta Race Massacre – emerges not as a static hologram, but as a navigable memory field. Selected for SXSW’s XR Experience Competition, this collaboration between Emmy-winning director Nonny de la Peña and Digital Nation Entertainment’s studio director Addie Reiss represents a paradigm shift in historical resurrection through volumetric capture.

Ghost in the Machine: Reconstructing the “1906 Atlanta Race Massacre” in Augmented Reality

At the core of Barber’s compelling presence lies DNE’s Santa Monica volumetric 4D stage – where 120 bespoke RGB-D cameras orchestrated by Reiss’ team captured Bain’s performance, as a holographic presence. DNE’s proprietary structured-light sensors achieved sub-millimeter spatial resolution – critical for preserving the tremor in Bain’s hands as Barber recounts watching white mobs burn Black-owned businesses. “We needed forensic-level capture without sacrificing artistic spontaneity, to convey Bain’s testimony and draw the audience into the story.” explains Reiss.

Cinematographer’s Gambit: Truth in Photons

In an era of MetaHumans and AI-generated deepfakes, Reiss’s approach to volumetric capture feels radical in its simplicity: “Record the actor, not an approximation.”

“Audiences instinctively recoil from perfect animations, and emotionally disconnect when viewing machine hallucinations or haunted marionettes.” explains Reiss, whose cinematography work on both fiction films and documentaries, taught him the difference between technical precision and emotional veracity. ” …it’s not AI trickery, but light and photons bouncing off an actor as a precious moment unfolds”. Viewers can distinguish truth instinctively, and get drawn into the story by Bain’s authenticity.

Reiss’s decade-long journey as an innovator in volumetric capture goes back to the inception of the technology. It is this blend of technical mastery and storytelling acumen that has defined Reiss’s career. “Volumetric capture for me is a natural progression of photography,” Reiss explains. “From one camera to many, from two dimensions to three and then four. It’s a new science and art, merging into the role of directing volumetric 4D capture.”

Mobile AR as Memory Lens: Democratizing Dimensional History

The true innovation of 1906 emerges with its accessibility. Forget expensive holographic displays or bulky headsets. Users can summon Barber’s volumetric presence using consumer smartphones. Your device becomes a porthole to the past, giving each user their own perspective on the unfolding events. “As XR creators, we empower and lead the viewers through the story, yet never dictate their journey,” Reiss emphasizes, underscoring the power of volumetric capture to finally give audiences agency in how they experience a scene. “The experience’s mobile AR component transforms audiences into active investigators, and volumetric capture finally gives them the ability to choose their own viewpoint as the scene develops.”

The Future of Memory: Gaussian Splats on the Horizon

While the 1906 experience utilized traditional photogrammetric processing, Reiss’ team is pioneering next-generation 4D Gaussian splatting imagery for future projects. “For more than a decade, volumetric capture has been trapped in a polygon prison,” Reiss explains. Computer graphics, born from synthetic 3D scenes, dictated that volumetric data be processed and ‘solved’ into millions of polygons. “We were striving for photorealism using fundamentally unreal building blocks.”

That’s where 3D Gaussian Splatting comes in. “We now reject polygons entirely,” Reiss declares.

“Polygons create hard, synthetic edges, and struggle to recreate the fine details of life.” A reflection, fine hair, a glass of wine or simply a glint of light—these were near-impossible to capture and render using classic computer graphics. With Gaussian Splats, DNE can preserve each photon particle into a light field. “We’re now finally free from building a 3D-mesh model,” Reiss states, “instead we use the cameras and sensors to paint 3D brushstrokes in space, taking impressions of light in time.” The result is spectacular realism and the ability to convey subtle details impossible with previous volumetric technologies.

DNE’s upcoming projects are all-in on 4DGS. “Now, finally, volumetric capture has the paints and brushes to fulfill its claim, to produce an immersive facsimile of reality,” Reiss explains.

Why “Real” Matters in a World of Deepfakes

As XR grapples with AI-generated “actors”, Reiss sees volumetric capture—done right—as an ethical imperative. That’s why, in an industry chasing the next machine hallucination, DNE is betting on reality. “We are now fully committed to bringing that sense of connection again, between an audience and a true talent.”
Volumetric capture may be the last media stronghold carrying the legacy of truth.

“We’re not just building time machines – we’re crafting empathy engines,” Reiss concludes, solidifying DNE’s commitment to using technology to create authentic experiences for the audience.

Now, guests at Hard Rock cafes, hotels, casinos, and live entertainment venues can have Voli 305 complement their favorite meals, enjoy pool and beachside at hotels and bring around the casino floor on a night out.

A premium spirit with Miami soul, crafted with precision, Voli 305 is seven-times distilled, gluten free, delivering a clean, crisp taste that’s perfect for any occasion—from high-energy nightlife to relaxing beachside moments. The brand’s modern, sleek design reflects its Miami roots, embodying sophistication, passion, and fun. Voli 305 Vodka has already made a name for itself in the spirits industry, earning top accolades: 2024 Gold Medal Winner at the San Francisco Wine & Spirits Competition and the 2023 Gold Medal Winner at the Bartender Spirits Awards, scoring 92 points.

Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Hollywood, home of the iconic Guitar Hotel, hosted Miami natives at ‘305 Day’ on Wednesday, March 5 to kick off this newest addition to Hard Rock’s beverage menu. Fans danced to live music from DJ Laz, had a meet and greet with the artist and were the first to have signature cocktails made with Voli 305.

“It’s an honor to create a partnership between Voli 305 vodka and Hard Rock International. I had the opportunity to sit with Chairman Jim Allen during the inception of the Guitar Hotel. I was also one of the first artists to shoot a music video at the Seminole Hard Rock, so there’s no better place to start Voli 305’s first global partnership. It’s truly from the root to fruit, history in the making, Dale!” said Armando Christian Perez (Pitbull).

“Pitbull’s influence on the rap, hip-hop and dance music scene embodies the vibrant, unstoppable energy that Hard Rock aims to bring our guests every day at our Guitar Hotel in South Florida and destinations around the world,” said Keith Sheldon, President of Entertainment & Brand Management at Hard Rock International and Seminole Gaming. “Introducing Voli 305 to our menus was a natural fit to enhance our guest experience.”

Danni is twenty-six and longs for true love and abiding love, and so on the advice of a friend she seeks out the service of Raj, a hypnotist. As he leads her into a spell, an extraordinary, winged creature—a hornet queen—joins them where together they soar toward an astonishing future in an unseen world.

“I’m convinced that we underestimate our mental capacities,” says Shapero about “The Hornet’s Spell.” “We will be a different species, I think, when we accept and embrace our potential.”

“The Hornet’s Spell” is the latest experiment in TooFar Media’s ongoing pursuit of immersive storytelling. Built with Generative AI, Stable Diffusion, Blender, PlayCanvas, Adobe Firefly, and Dolby Atmos spatial audio, this experience goes beyond storytelling—it creates a world that surrounds, responds, and pulls audiences deeper into its reality.

This premiere at SXSW demonstrates how AI can serve as a creative collaborator rather than just a production tool, expanding the possibilities of artistic expression and audience engagement in ways previously unimaginable.

The UNITED Announces “Nashville North” Initiative to Forge a Musical Pipeline Between Nashville and Westerly

The United is launching a new entertainment, education and economic development initiative that will create a dynamic and expanding pipeline between Nashville, America’s “Music City,” and Westerly.

The United’s Nashville North initiative will include programming collaborations with Nashville’s iconic Bluebird Cafe and the nonprofit Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum, which is home to the Taylor Swift Education Center.

The Bluebird Cafe has gained worldwide recognition for launching the careers of artists like Taylor SwiftGarth Brooks and Faith Hill. Known for its intimate “In The Round” performances — where songwriters share the stories behind their songs — the Bluebird has extended its reach beyond Nashville, hosting performances in select locations such as Santa Fe, NM, Sundance, UT, and London, UK.

“The original vision for bringing programming from the venerable Bluebird Cafe to Westerly and connecting the United with the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum’s educational programs belongs to Scott Swift, financial advisor and entrepreneur, whose deep connection to both communities inspired this collaboration,” said Callahan. “We are incredibly grateful to him for recognizing the potential of uniting Nashville’s extraordinary songwriting tradition with the musical heritage of Westerly and for setting in motion what will be an unforgettable and ongoing exchange of artistry and storytelling.”

Beginning this fall, the Bluebird will present singer-songwriters from Nashville who will perform at the United in the same intimate and immersive format. “We are thrilled to bring this experience to New England, beginning this fall and continuing quarterly providing our region with an exclusive opportunity to experience the Bluebird Cafe’s signature songwriter-driven performances. This series will connect audiences to the stories behind the music, offering a rare and authentic glimpse into the creative process of some of the industry’s most respected songwriters,” said Tony Nunes, Artistic Director of the United.

The United Music School will participate in the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum’s Words & Music® program. During a one-day teacher training at the Museum, UMS educators were taught how to integrate the Words & Music curriculum into UMS’ After School Arts program, a free arts education program for Middle School students.

Student participants will craft original song lyrics, developing key language arts skills, artistic expression and confidence. Through the Museum’s virtual offerings, the group will then be paired with a Nashville-based songwriter who will transform student lyrics into finished songs during an interactive workshop.

Fueling the connection between Nashville and Westerly is Southwest Airlines’ new route between Nashville and Providence, R.I., which begins on Tuesday, April 8. Southwest is a longtime partner of the Bluebird Cafe and has served Nashville for 39 years and Providence for 29 years. To celebrate the launch of the new nonstop flight, the United will host a special pop-up performance at T.F. Green Airport.

The non-profit United, located at 5 Canal St. in downtown Westerly, features a versatile 700-capacity black box auditorium for live performances and presentations, three cinemas, a multi-purpose event and gallery space, and a state-of-the-art music school.
