Maren Morris Announces New Album D R E A M S I C L E Arriving May 9, 2025

0

GRAMMY Award-winning artist Maren Morris has announced that her fourth studio album, D R E A M S I C L E, will arrive May 9, 2025. The first taste of the album, “carry me through”, will be unveiled this Thursday, March 27.

D R E A M S I C L E continues an already incredible year for Maren, which includes her first-ever Golden Globe and Critics Choice nominations for her song “Kiss The Sky” from The Wild Robot. The album marks a whole new chapter for Maren and follows the release of her August 2024 EP, Intermission.

Maren Morris has broken boundaries, smashed records, and affirmed herself as a dynamic vocalist, prolific songwriter, and showstopping performer on her own terms. Among numerous accolades, she has garnered a GRAMMY Award, five ACM Awards, five CMA Awards, and three Billboard Music Awards. She has earned dozens of multiplatinum and gold certifications worldwide and tallied billions of streams. Her catalog encompasses a trio of acclaimed albums, namely HERO [2016], GIRL [2019], and Humble Quest [2022]. Speaking to her versatility, she’s the rare force of nature equally suited to collaborating with Zedd on the 6x-platinum “The Middle” or duetting with everyone from Taylor Swift, Stevie Nicks, and Sheryl Crow to Teddy Swims, Hozier, and Jessie Murph on tracks. Beyond standout late-night television performances, she notably served as guest host for ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel LIVE! Not to mention, she has sold out tours on multiple continents, gracing hallowed stages in the process. Along the way, she also co-founded The Highwomen with Brandi Carlile, Natalie Hemby, and Amanda Shires. In September 2023, Maren shared The Bridge, an EP featuring “The Tree” and “Get the Hell Out of Here,” and followed with a cover of Billy Idol’s classic track “Dancing With Myself” in February 2024. She entered a bold new era with the release of her Intermission EP in August, which features “cut!” [feat. Julia Michaels] and the MUNA-produced and playful single “push me over”. Maren, who described Intermission as her “heart journey and gamut of emotions packaged into 5 songs”, is always unapologetically herself – and that remains a core element of her art as she moves forward towards the release of her upcoming album, D R E A M S I C L E.

Elton John and Brandi Carlile Announce World Premiere of ‘Who Believes In Angels?’ Stories From The Edge Of Creation

0

Global music icon Elton John and eleven-time GRAMMY winning superstar Brandi Carlile announce the world premiere of “Who Believes In Angels? Stories From The Edge Of Creation.” This short, intimate film gives fans a behind-the-scenes look at the ‘making of’ each song off their forthcoming collaborative album, Who Believes In Angels?

The premiere is set for Friday, April 4th at 92NY and will be followed by a conversation moderated by TCM host Dave Karger with Elton John, Brandi Carlile, Elton’s longtime lyricist and collaborator, Bernie Taupin and GRAMMY-winning producer and songwriter, Andrew Watt. Fans can watch all episodes and the recording of the live Q&A from 92NY exclusively on YouTube beginning April 5th.

“Who Believes In Angels? Stories From The Edge Of Creation” is a candid, 30-minute film series that encapsulates the creative brilliance and unbridled talent of all the musicians who worked on the record. Static cameras positioned around the studio captured thousands of hours of raw footage and ultimately documented the album’s entire creation. Offering fans an unprecedented, searingly honest insight into the emotionally turbulent creative process – breakdowns, breakthroughs, tears, torn up lyric sheets and all. “Stories From The Edge Of Creation” marks the first time that Elton has allowed cameras to film his writing and recording sessions while creating an album.

Who Believes In Angels?, also set for worldwide release on April 4, was announced to huge excitement across the world with the eponymous single ‘Who Believes In Angels?’ garnering widespread acclaim. The album also features the 2025 Oscar nominated song ‘Never Too Late’, created especially for the Disney+ documentary of the same name and unveiled last year to widespread critical acclaim. Who Believes In Angels? was devised by close friends and regular collaborators Elton John, and Brandi Carlile with producer and songwriter Andrew Watt. They set out to create a genuinely collaborative studio album between Elton and Brandi. The album would mix Elton-led songs and Brandi-led songs, with long term collaborator Bernie Taupin and Brandi both contributing lyrics, and producer and co-writer Andrew Watt acting as the producer, mediator and creative conduit. Entering Los Angeles’ Sunset Sound Studios in October 2023 with a completely blank slate, they pushed each other out of their comfort zones to write and record an album completely from scratch in just 20 days. They are backed by a world class band of musicians comprising of Chad Smith (Red Hot Chili Peppers), Pino Palladino (Nine Inch Nails, Gary Numan and David Gilmour) and Josh Klinghoffer (Pearl Jam, Beck).

Sweet Relief and Sweetwater Launch Hearing Health Fund to Protect Musicians From Preventable Hearing Loss

0

A staggering 40 percent of musicians and those working in the music industry experience noise-induced hearing loss, prompting Sweet Relief Musicians Fund and Sweetwater to tackle the issue head-on. Launched today, The Hearing Health Fund at Sweet Relief Musicians Fund, in partnership with Sweetwater, provides essential support for the growing number of music industry professionals who face hearing-related challenges.

Repeated exposure over time to loud sounds can lead to hearing loss, tinnitus, and other auditory issues, putting musicians and music industry workers at higher risk of developing hearing loss than the general public. Research shows that 7 in 10 music venue staff are exposed to noise levels above the daily recommended limit. What’s more, 70 percent reported that they never used hearing protection, and only 15 percent reported using hearing protection regularly.

These findings are concerning to Todd Page, MD, who has a vested interest in protecting the hearing of music makers and music listeners, alike. Dr. Page is Sweetwater’s in-house family physician who provides medical care for employees (many of whom are active musicians) and their families.

“Screening is essential to protecting musicians from hearing loss because once the damage is done, there’s no going back to ‘normal.’ It’s heartbreaking telling a fellow musician their tinnitus isn’t fixable; that it’s too late to reverse it, and all they can do is adapt and try to keep it from progressing,” explained Dr. Page. “Getting musicians to respect the need for hearing protection despite a sense of ‘it won’t happen to me’ is so important when they’re just starting their musical journey.”

The Hearing Health Fund includes a free, three-part hearing screening with a certified audiologist and free Etymotic Research ER-20XS High Fidelity Earplugs. The free consultation includes reviewing the hearing screening results and making recommendations, general education about hearing health as it relates to music industry professionals, individualized education regarding personal sound exposure

Basic care for those struggling with hearing disorders or hearing loss
Sweetwater, the No. 1 online retailer for music gear, is synonymous with sound expertise-the company also creates and delivers immersive audio experiences at major-league stadiums, concert halls, houses of worship, and more. But more importantly, Sweet Relief Musicians Fund teamed with Sweetwater on this effort because of their shared mission of caring for musicians.

“We’re thrilled to partner with Sweetwater to bring this vital resource to our music community, as we share a goal to keep musicians healthy,” said Aric Steinberg, Executive Director, Sweet Relief Musicians Fund. “Music-induced hearing loss and disorders are 100% preventable. Our free hearing health screenings are another way for Sweet Relief to care for musicians and to help ensure that people of all income levels have access to quality medical resources.”

Sons Of The East Announce 2025 World Tour and New Album ‘SONS’

0

Following the announcement of their highly anticipated sophomore album SONS and the release of its stirring first single “Rescue Me,” Australian indie-folk band Sons Of The East have unveiled their third world tour-one that sees them stepping up to bigger venues and larger crowds than ever before. Spanning North America, Europe, the UK, and beyond, the tour will bring their engaging live show to audiences worldwide in support of SONS, out June 13 via MGM (Metropolitan Groove Merchants).

With over 700 million streams, 75 million YouTube views, and more than 100,000 headline tickets sold-all as a fully independent band-Sons Of The East have earned a reputation for unforgettable performances, drawing in fans from around the world. Known for their raucous, communal energy on stage, Jack Rollins (vocals, guitar), Nic Johnston (vocals, keys), and Dan Wallage (guitar, banjo) have earned a reputation for unforgettable performances, with their last global run even catching the attention of some high-profile fans. Bill Murray endorsed them in an Instagram video and when asked how it came about, Sons Of The East manager Bryon Jones stated to The Music, “He’s a genuine fan. He came to a tiny show in North Carolina last year and said hi to the band, and they hung out. Then he turned up to the sold-out Boston show last week and asked for some guitar tips from Jack, so he got them in exchange for the video!”

In London Emma Thompson caught their sold-out show at O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire-one of many capacity gigs the band has played worldwide, from The Troubadour in LA to Music Hall of Williamsburg in New York and Sala Apolo in Barcelona. Their next tour promises to be even bigger as they graduate to significantly larger rooms across multiple continents. While Jack Rollins, Nic Johnston, and Dan Wallage remain the heart of the band, their live performances feature a full band, adding even more energy and depth to their dynamic show.

Since their breakthrough, Sons Of The East have captivated a worldwide audience with their seamless fusion of folk, blues, and soul. Their 2022 debut album Palomar Parade (now nearing 100 million streams) set the stage for their meteoric rise, with tracks that resonated far beyond their roots in Sydney’s Northern Beaches. Now, SONS marks the next thrilling chapter, crafted between relentless touring and intimate sessions at their Sydney studio.
