Chxrry22 Releases New Single ‘Just Like Me’ and Joins FLO on Tour

Rising R&B star Chxrry22 returns with an upbeat and undeniable new single entitled “Just Like Me” out now via XO Records/Republic Records. It notably marks her first release of 2025 and sets the stage for a whole lot more to come.

The track’s keyboard-laden throwback beat layers glitchy claps above a thumping bassline. Chxrry22 leans into the groove with charisma and confidence as she cheekily admits, “I like to keep a clean white tee, but I like to do my dirt lowkey.” Meanwhile, the bouncy hook booms with no shortage of energy as she smiles, “I guess I like ‘em just like me!”

Carlos Santana Announces New Album ‘Sentient’ and 2025 Oneness Tour

Multi-Grammy Award-winning Rock and Roll Hall of Fame guitarist Carlos Santana has announced that his passion-filled retrospective album, Sentient, will be released via Candid Records on March 28. The album is available for pre-order now. The record’s heavenly, soulful first single – a “Sentient version” of Smokey Robinson’s “Please Don’t Take Your Love” – is out now.

Sentient is composed of 11 dazzling tracks – three of them previously unreleased – compiled by the virtuoso guitarist, remastered and sequenced in a way that allows a new and dramatic story to emerge. As is often the case when the spark of musical magic strikes, Santana was surprised, delighted and receptive. “I’m always driven by passion, emotion and inner instinct,” he says. “When I first heard these tracks floating around in the house, I said, ‘Why don’t we put these all in one place?’”

The songs that make up Sentient are complex compositionally, but they float by like a dream. There are brilliant collaborations with Michael Jackson, Smokey Robinson, Miles Davis, Paolo Rustichelli, Darryl “DMC” McDaniels and Cindy Blackman Santana, but no matter the mood or genre – whether it’s lush pop or high-intensity cosmic jazz – it’s all part of a common thread. As Santana says, “From Stravinsky to James Brown, it’s all the same song, meaning it’s all connected to the umbilical cord of humanity and planet Earth.”

The album’s first single offers listeners a new view of “Please Don’t Take Your Love,” the heavenly slice of funky, soulful seduction that paired Santana with the incomparable Smokey Robinson. The original version, featured on Robinson’s 2009 album, Time Flies When You’re Having Fun, saw Santana contrast Robinson’s shimmering vibrato with searing, soul-shaking soloing. The alternate take on Sentient is no less emotionally wrenching, but as Santana notes, it boasts a never-before-heard guitar performance. “I went to the studio and did my own thing. I said, ‘Let’s just roll it.’ I did another take with Smokey sort of guiding me. Smokey loved them both, so he wound up combining the two. What’s on Sentient is the first version.”

March 14th will see the debut release of a live instrumental cover of Michael Jackson’s haunting ballad “Stranger in Moscow,” recorded in 2007 with producer and drummer Narada Michael Walden’s band. It’s a devastating masterclass performance – Santana’s guitar playing is by turns soulful and poetic, blitzing and blinding, and always breathtakingly imaginative.

“Narada knew that I loved the song, so he arranged it with his band,” Santana remembers. “I showed up and we played it with no rehearsal. I’m basically singing it with my guitar. I’m visualizing Michael Jackson and what he would do – I got pretty close. I think when Michael listened to it, wherever he is, he smiled and said, ‘Yeah, that’s it.’”

“Get On,” a jazz-groove masterpiece from renowned composer Paolo Rustichelli’s lauded 1996 album Mystic Man, featuring the extraordinary collaboration of Santana with the iconic Miles Davis, will be officially released to radio for the first time on March 17.

Santana’s Oneness tour kicks off in Highland, CA, at Yaamava’ Resort & Casino at San Manuel on April 16 making stops in Phoenix, AZ; Albuquerque, NM; San Antonio, TX; Sugar Land, TX; Thackerville, OK; Tulsa, OK; and Nashville, TN. The Europe and UK portion of the tour begins on June 9 in Lodz, Poland with stops throughout Europe and the UK, ending in Copenhagen, Denmark on August 11. Full tour dates are below.

During Cream’s first American tour, Eric purchased a three-pickup 1958 Les Paul Custom, serial number 8 6320, which he used on Disraeli Gears, multiple tours, including with Delaney & Bonnie, and on and off throughout the rest of the 1960s and 70s. In 1979, he gifted the guitar to fellow legendary guitarist Albert Lee, who continues to be inspired by it and uses it to this day. Now, Gibson Custom is proud to introduce the Eric Clapton 1958 Les Paul Custom, a loving tribute to Clapton’s original Cream-era 1958 Les Paul Custom. This special limited run uses ultra-precise Murphy Lab aging techniques to aid in handcrafting a reproduction of this legendary guitar. Every detail has been thoughtfully crafted, from the exact playing wear to the sonic character. It features a hand-selected, ultra-lightweight, one-piece, all-mahogany body, a mahogany neck with an ebony fretboard with Custom mother-of-pearl block inlays and 22 historic medium jumbo frets, and the same neck profile as the original guitar. The hardware is aged gold, including the Grover tuners, ABR-1 bridge, Stop Bar tailpiece, and pickup covers. The three pickups are unpotted Custombuckers, with the middle pickup mounted with the screws oriented towards the neck, just as they are on the original guitar. The volume and tone controls use CTS 500k audio taper potentiometers that are hand-wired to paper-in-oil capacitors, while the Murphy Lab aging simulates the exact aging and wear patterns that Eric and Albert created.

Primus Launches The New Drummer Audition Video Series and Announces Tour Dates

After an extensive search to find a new drummer, Primus is pulling back the curtain on their unique audition process with the launch of the “Primus Interstellar Drum Derby,” a brand-new episodic YouTube series chronicling the entire journey. The first episode, released today, features drummer Rory Dolan jamming with Les Claypool and Larry LaLonde, providing an exclusive, behind-the-scenes look at the dynamic and demanding audition process.

The band put out a global open call for submissions, attracting some of the world’s most talented drummers. “Taking submissions from all points in the universe for the position of Primus drummer/percussionist,” the band wrote, adding, “Flashy chops are wonderful, but groove, pocket, and the ability to listen, react, and contribute to the musical conversation is a must.”

As the process unfolded, Primus documented each audition, capturing the exciting and unexpected moments that unfolded in the studio. Future episodes will feature performances from a stellar lineup of drummers, including Thomas Pridgen, Mike Stone, Stan Bicknell, Sam Groveman, Nikki Glaspie, John Hoffman, Gergo Borlai, and Thomas Lang, as well as surprise cameos from special guests.

“The Primus Interstellar Drum Derby” gives fans an unprecedented look at the band’s inner workings, their approach to chemistry and collaboration, and what it takes to step behind the kit for one of rock’s most innovative trios. With each episode, the series will build anticipation and excitement as the band moves toward its next chapter.

“Luck is when preparation meets opportunity,” said John Hoffman, who was ultimately selected as Primus’ new drummer. “I came and did my thing the way I do it. It went as well as I could have hoped.”

The debut episode is now live on Primus’ official YouTube channel, with new episodes rolling out soon.

Primus will kick off their first live performance of 2025 at Tool’s Live in the Sand in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, where Danny Carey (Tool) will be sitting in on drums. The band will then hit the road for the second leg of the Sessanta Tour, a highly anticipated run featuring Puscifer and A Perfect Circle in celebration of Maynard James Keenan’s 60(ish) birthday.

Goo Goo Dolls Release Cover of INXS’ ‘Don’t Change’

Multi-platinum, four-time GRAMMY-nominated rock band Goo Goo Dolls have debuted a cover of INXS’ “Don’t Change,” which was recorded semi-acoustically for the radio show Modern Rock Live Los Angeles in 1996. This rendition will appear as a bonus track on the band’s 30th Anniversary reissue of their fifth studio album, A Boy Named Goo. The deluxe edition is set for release exactly 30 years to the day on March 14.

Originally released in 1995, A Boy Named Goo catapulted the band to mainstream success and was Certified 2x Platinum within a year of its release. Driven by the smash hit “Name,” the record also included the singles “Flat Top,” “Naked,” “Only One” and “Long Way Down.”

The 24-track, deluxe 2xLP format will include the original album, plus an unreleased live concert performance recorded in Las Vegas on March 10, 1996. The 2xCD deluxe edition contains 34 tracks and includes the live concert, plus 4 B-sides from the era and 6 songs recorded for Modern Rock Live. There is also a limited 2xLP edition pressed on sea blue vinyl available exclusively via the band’s webstore.

In addition, the band will take their lauded live show back on the road this year with an extensive run of summer tour dates with Dashboard Confessional. Kicking off on July 13, the “Summer Anthem Tour 2025” will bring the band to iconic venues coast-to-coast, including stops at Los Angeles’ Greek Theatre, Morrison’s Red Rocks Amphitheatre, Nashville’s Ascend Amphitheater, Boston’s LeaderBank Pavilion, Chicago’s Huntington Bank Pavilion as well as a hometown show at Buffalo’s KeyBank Center. The band will perform a career-encompassing set that features multiple songs from their 2022 album Chaos in Bloom along with other hits from their complete discography, including their global hit “Iris.” The 4x GRAMMY-nominated track is now Certified Diamond and has amassed over 2 billion streams worldwide.

Goo Goo Dolls will be partnering with Joe Torre Safe At Home for the tour, a nonprofit founded in 2002 by Ali and Joe Torre to provide healing and education services to youth who have been traumatized by exposure to violence including domestic violence, child abuse, teen dating abuse and sexual assault to help break the cycle of violence.

Formed by John Rzeznik and Robby Takac in Buffalo, NY during 1986, Goo Goo Dolls have quietly broken records, contributed a string of staples to the American songbook, connected to millions of fans, and indelibly impacted popular music for three-plus decades. Simple Minds Announces 40th Anniversary North American Tour with New Live Album ‘Live in the City of Diamonds’

Simple Minds are heralding their biggest North American headline tour in four decades with Live in the City of Diamonds, an all-new double live album arriving everywhere via BMG on Friday, April 25.

Recorded in concert last April at Amsterdam, NL’s Ziggo Dome as part of the legendary UK band’s epic Global Tour 2024, Live in the City of Diamonds will be available in a variety of formats, including digitally, 2x clear/glitter and standard black vinyl LP (with 18 tracks, housed in gatefold sleeve with hi-spec finish), and 2xCD (with 24 tracks and 24-page Media Book featuring exclusive photos and tour notes).

“All we wanted was to be in ‘a great live band’ and to spend our lives taking our music with us around the world,” says Simple Minds co-founder and frontman Jim Kerr. “Decades later we still relish that challenge every night on tour. Live In The City of Diamonds captures both the spirit and fever of Simple Minds live at this moment in time.”

Live in the City of Diamonds collects stunning concert performances of classic tracks and fan favorites from across Simple Minds’ monumental body of work thus far, including a spectacular live rendition of their much-beloved Billboard “Hot 100” #1 hit single, “Don’t You (Forget About Me),” premiering today at all DSPs and streaming services.

Last month saw Simple Minds kicking off what looks to be a milestone year with an electrifying US network late night TV performance of “Don’t You (Forget About Me)” on ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live! Indeed, 2025 marks the 40th anniversary of one of the most significant periods in Simple Minds’ extraordinary history, a landmark moment in their legendary career which saw the worldwide chart-topping success of “Don’t You (Forget About Me)” and release of their RIAA Gold-certified seventh studio album Once Upon A Time, not to mention their unforgettable set in front of 135,000 fans – and a TV audience of millions – on the American leg of 1985’s Live Aid. The occasion was further celebrated last month with the digital premiere of a special new 9-track edition of Once Upon A Time featuring the addition of “Don’t You (Forget About Me)” and updated Ruby Anniversary artwork. Physical versions and other anniversary reissues will follow later in the year.

The 2025 13th Annual Woodystock Blues & Brews Festival returns for its third consecutive year to beautiful Lake Havasu City, at the foot of the majestic Colorado River, taking place over two big days, Saturday, March 22 and Sunday, March 23, with its best music lineup yet! Gates open at 10am.

This year’s lineup is Woodystock’s best to date; Saturday there’s music by award-winning headlining blues vocalist, Niecie, plus top-tier regional acts including San Diego’s Chickenbone Slim & The Biscuits; Kelly’s Lot, featuring talented SoCal-based vocalist Kelly Z; singer/songwriter and Woodystock past favorite, Jason Trombley and the Rhythm; and local faves Scott O’Neal Band. Vocalist Tiffany Lynn returns once again to sing the Star Spangled Banner both days.
