0

Music icons Bret Michaels and The All-American Rejects will rock fans at the Miller Lite Carb Day Concert on Friday, May 23 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

Miller Lite Carb Day is a full day of on- and off-track action and entertainment. All general admission, concert pit and VIP Deck concert tickets include admission to the concert and to on-track activities that day at IMS, which include the final practice for the 109th Indianapolis 500 presented by Gainbridge and the Indy 500 Pit Stop Challenge.

Tickets are on sale now at IMS.com, by calling 317-492-6700 or by visiting the IMS Ticket Office at the IMS Administration Building.

“Miller Lite Carb Day is not just the official party to kick off race weekend, it’s really the kickoff event of the summer,” IMS President J. Douglas Boles said. “The day has everything to make the perfect party: 33 drivers in the final practice before the ‘500,’ the Pit Stop Challenge, people watching and a fun and entertaining concert to put an exclamation point on the party. It really is a day like no other at the Racing Capital of the World. Many of our fans take the day off work and spend it at IMS, which is a tradition we can all celebrate.”

The All-American Rejects quickly rose to prominence in the early 2000s with their infectious blend of pop-punk and emo rock. Their self-titled debut album, released in 2002, featured the hit single “Swing, Swing,” which propelled them into the mainstream. This success was followed by their sophomore album, “Move Along” (2005), which trophied three chart-topping singles like “Dirty Little Secret,” “Move Along” and “It Ends Tonight.”

In 2008, the band released “When the World Comes Down,” featuring the stratospheric and generational smash hit “Gives You Hell,” which became its most successful single to date, reaching No. 4 on the Billboard Hot 100.

The All-American Rejects continue to create and perform, solidifying their place as one of the most beloved bands of their genre. Their journey from early 2000s hitmakers to enduring rock icons is a testament to their talent, resilience, and the deep connection they share with their fans.

Well-known as an avid Indy 500 and racing fan, Bret Michaels returns to IMS after a record-setting party at his last Carb Day. As one of music’s most iconic singer/songwriters, Michaels consistently brings his iconic energy and star power to every project. He has sold more than 100 million records, digital downloads and streams worldwide, and his numerous hit singles include “Every Rose Has Its Thorn,” “Go That Far” and “Nothing But A Good Time.”

Michaels also has a robust television career with record-breaking hits including “Rock of Love with Bret Michaels” and a recent turn as the audience-favorite Banana on FOX’s hit “The Masked Singer.” As a well-known creative entrepreneur, Michaels took his “Celebrity Apprentice”-winning Trop-A-Rocka Iced Tea and turned it into a bestselling global product.

Despite his busy career, Michaels still finds time to give back through his Life Rocks Foundation, which supports a myriad of charities and causes around the globe.

Miller Lite Carb Day general admission tickets start at just $40. A limited number of concert pit package upgrades that include general admission are available for $75. A very limited supply of exclusive VIP platform tickets also is available for $270, including concert pit access, snacks, two complimentary drinks, dedicated bars and restroom trailers. Ticket prices will increase as the concert draws closer, so fans are encouraged to buy now.

The 109th Indianapolis 500 presented by Gainbridge is scheduled for Sunday, May 25. Tickets are on sale at IMS.com or by calling or visiting the IMS Ticket Office.

Big Time Rush became an overnight sensation in 2009 from the launch of the Nickelodeon television series Big Time Rush. The show was a huge success and catapulted the group into real-life stardom, as they went on to release 3 studio albums and performed across the globe, including five tours from 2011 to 2014. In June 2020, the band held a surprise virtual reunion to celebrate the 10-year anniversary of their smash hit “Worldwide,” resulting in mass hysteria amongst their fans and in the media. In March 2021, all four seasons of Nickelodeon’s Big Time Rush were added to Netflix and the band went viral once again, increasing fan demand for an official reunion. Soon after, the band announced they would come together for two special live shows in New York and Chicago, both of which sold-out in a matter of minutes, blowing expectations out of the water and proving the power of the band’s devoted fandom.

Since reuniting, Big Time Rush has completed three back-to-back sold-out tours, selling out venues across the globe, including New York’s iconic Madison Square Garden. Their first new album in over 10 years, Another Life, was released in 2023 to praise from critics and fans alike.

Big Time Rush became an overnight sensation in November 2009 when the scripted TV show of the same name launched on Nickelodeon. The show focused on the Hollywood adventures of four hockey players from Minnesota after they were selected to form a boy band. The show became a huge success and later, Carlos, Kendall, James, and Logan came to life as a band off the screen releasing three full length albums and performing across the globe. As the show concluded in July 2013 and after four years of recording music and touring as a band, they went their separate ways but remained close friends through the years.

After 7 years, in an effort to bring joy to their fans during quarantine around the world, the members of Big Time Rush decided to appear together as a group to send a message of love and togetherness. This was soon followed by a socially distant performance of an acoustic version of their smash hit, “Worldwide”. These appearances resulted in hysteria amongst their fans and in the media, followed by BTR receiving 10+ million streams in 2020 alone. Four seasons of the TV show were added to Netflix in March 2021 and have appeared in the Netflix “Top 10” trending titles.

The band finished off 2021 with a performance at iHeartRadio Jingle Ball in Philadelphia as well as 2 sold out shows in Chicago and NYC, capping it off with the release of their first single in 8 years, “Call It Like I See It”.

The power group kicked off 2022 stronger than ever with the launch of their wildly successful, sold-out Forever Tour, as well as all new music, including hit singles “Honey,” “Fall,” and “Not Giving You Up.” The Forever Tour included numerous sell outs including shows in Chicago, at New York City’s legendary Madison Square Garden and on all dates on their Mexico Tour. The tour concluded in early 2023 in South America with shows in Argentina, Brazil, Colombia and Chile.

Another Life, which was released in June of 2023, was the band’s first new studio album release in ten years and was followed up by a special deluxe version in November. The band’s 2023 Can’t Get Enough Tour sold out amphitheater and arena shows – selling out venues across the US including Los Angeles’s KIA Forum and New York’s Jones Beach on the 39-city run. Across 2022 and 2023 the band’s reunion resulted in over 600,000 tickets sold.

2024 was another incredible year for Big Time Rush, including several sold-out international tours in the UK, Europe, Asia & Australia. The band ended the year with their sold-out holiday extravaganza – Big Time Rush On Ice – bringing their fans together for a first of its kind skating and concert spectacle on ice.

Leon Thomas Brings Soulful Brilliance to NPR’s Tiny Desk Concert Debut

0

Leon Thomas wasn’t going to let a snowstorm stop his Tiny Desk debut. Arriving 30 minutes early, he proved his dedication before even picking up his guitar. Opening with tracks from MUTT, his latest album, Thomas captivated the room with effortless vocals, rich storytelling, and undeniable presence.

A seasoned entertainer since childhood, Thomas honed his skills on Broadway, Nickelodeon, and under the mentorship of R&B legend Babyface. He’s not just an artist—he’s a songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist, shaping the sound of modern R&B. His setlist blended MUTT standouts with selections from Electric Dusk, closing with Breaking Point, a tribute to his late grandfather, opera singer John Anthony.

Backed by an incredible live band, Thomas delivered one of the most heartfelt and musically intricate Tiny Desk performances of the year. If there was ever a moment to crown the new king of R&B, this was it.

Somewhere Festival Returns to Wichita with Deadmau5, Suki Waterhouse, BigXthaPlug, and Flying Lotus

0

Building on the success of its debut last year as Elsewhere Festival, Somewhere Festival & Conference returns June 13th-14th in Downtown Wichita, KS, further establishing itself as a groundbreaking celebration of music, community, and social change. The festival’s evolution reflects its growing role as a home for artists, music workers, and changemakers, while reinforcing Wichita’s status as a thriving creative and cultural hub. By uniting diverse artists, innovative technology, and a socially conscious audience, Somewhere Festival reimagines what a music festival can be.

This year’s lineup boasts globally acclaimed headliners: electronic music powerhouse Deadmau5, genre-bending artist Suki Waterhouse, rising hip-hop star BigXthaPlug, and visionary producer Flying Lotus. Alongside them, an eclectic mix of artists will span genres from hip-hop and electronic to rock and experimental, including Kim Gordon, Aloe Blacc with 2ŁØT, Cassian, Tinlicker Live, Jerro, Die Spitz, Tommy Newport, Elise Trouw, La Luz, Chris Luno, and more. The festival prides itself on offering a genre-agnostic lineup, giving music fans the chance to discover new sounds while celebrating boundary-pushing artists from across the spectrum.

“When we launched this festival, it was about creating a space for artists and music workers who weren’t finding the support they needed in traditional industry spaces,” said Chase Koch, founder of Movement Musick. “With Somewhere Fest, we’re proving that Wichita isn’t ‘elsewhere’ when it comes to music and culture—it’s Somewhere. A place where artists and audiences can connect, collaborate, and create something truly meaningful.”

At its core, Somewhere Festival is about fostering creativity, innovation, and social impact. The event features immersive music technology with AI-driven music experiences and cutting-edge production elements that push the boundaries of live performance. Festival goers can also explore interactive art installations, including live murals, graffiti, and hands-on workshops curated by Harvester Arts, creating a seamless blend of music and visual storytelling. The festival is committed to inclusivity and accessibility, operating as a not-for-profit event with real-world ticket pricing and a free concert stage that welcomes the entire community.

Somewhere Festival is about using music as a platform for creativity, exploration, and positive change,” said Jessie Hartke, CEO and Director of Midtopia. “Last year proved that this vision resonates, and this year we’re going even bigger—offering more opportunities for connection, artistic discovery, and real impact in Wichita.”

Beyond the music, Somewhere Festival integrates music and social change, giving attendees the opportunity to engage directly with social initiatives that address pressing community issues. The event partners with The Phoenix, 1 Million Strong, Learning Lab Wichita, Empower North End, Create Campaign, The Neighboring Movement, the Foundation for Individual Rights and Expression (FIRE), and other community organizations, offering immersive activations focused on addiction recovery and mental health, education, strong and safe communities, economic mobility and free speech advocacy. Attendees will be able to connect directly with some of the most innovative social change entrepreneurs who are solving the challenges facing the greater Wichita community and find opportunities to get engaged beyond the festival. Participants can earn exclusive swag by taking social change actions. The festival also champions artist advocacy and knowledge sharing, with some of the performing musicians leading conference workshops and discussions on fully utilizing their creative platforms.

“Somewhere Festival is more than a festival—it’s a movement,” said Midtopia artist Rudy Love Jr.. “It’s about giving artists the space to create, but also the tools to build sustainable careers, the knowledge to make an impact, and the community to support them along the way.”

Today, Neil Young and The Chrome Hearts announce the Love Earth world tour, to take place this Summer. Kicking off on June 18 in Rättvik, Sweden, the first leg of the tour travels through the EU and UK. The North American leg begins in Charlotte on August 8 before concluding in Los Angeles on September 15.

Tickets are available beginning tomorrow, February 25 via an exclusive, 48-hour presale for Neil Young Archives members. General on-sale begins Friday, February 28. Click HERE for tickets and see the full list of dates below. More dates will be added shortly.

To protect the prices originally set by the artist, this tour will use Ticketmaster’s Face Value Exchange for all necessary resale and make tickets mobile only and restricted from transfer. This means if fans purchase tickets and can no longer attend, they’ll have the option to resell them to other fans at the original price paid using Ticketmaster’s Face Value Exchange tool. This applies to all shows except those in Illinois, New York, Utah, Virginia, and Canada, where Face Value Exchange cannot be mandated. More information on how the Ticketmaster Exchange works is available here.

With his band, the chrome hearts—Spooner Oldham (Farfisa organ), Micah Nelson (guitar and vocal), Corey McCormick (bass and vocal), Anthony LoGerfo (drums)—Neil Young (guitar and vocal) is bringing his music and songs, new and old, to you. Their recent single “big change” is the first introduction of what’s to come on the Love Earth tour.

Neil Young is proud to partner with Farm Aid (co-founded by Neil Young in 1985) to bring HOMEGROWN Concessions to this tour, leading the way to change the live music food system. HOMEGROWN Concessions brings family farm food — produced sustainably with a fair price paid to the farmer and served on compostable serviceware — to music venues.
