David Gogo Earns 2025 JUNO Award Nomination for YEAH! in Blues Album of the Year Category

0

Celebrated blues-rock guitarist David Gogo has once again been recognized by the JUNO Awards, receiving a 2025 nomination for Blues Album of the Year for his electrifying new release, YEAH!, released on Victoria-based indie label Cordova Bay Records. This marks Gogo’s seventh JUNO nomination, further cementing his status as one of Canada’s most enduring and acclaimed blues artists.

Gogo’s 2025 nomination joins an impressive list of previous nods, reflecting a career spent pushing the boundaries of blues-rock:

• 2025 Nominee – YEAH! (Blues Album of the Year)
• 2016 Nominee – Vicksburg Call (Blues Album of the Year)
• 2014 Nominee – Come On Down (Blues Album of the Year)
• 2012 Nominee – Soul Bender (Blues Album of the Year)
• 2007 Nominee – Acoustic (Blues Album of the Year)
• 1995 Nominee – Best New Solo Artist

Beyond the JUNOs, Gogo is a three-time Maple Blues Award Guitarist of the Year winner, a West Coast Music Award Musician of the Year recipient, and has taken home Blues Recording of the Year at the Western Canadian Music Awards. In 2021, he was honored with the Great Canadian Blues Award, recognizing his lifetime contributions to the genre.

With YEAH!, Gogo leans into the raw power of blues-rock, delivering a high-octane, guitar-driven album filled with blistering solos, anthemic choruses, and no-holds-barred energy.

Opening track “Diamond In The Rough” sets the tone with a Bad Company-meets-T. Rex swagger, featuring Gogo’s signature grit:

She’s my sugar, she’s my spice
I still love her when she’s not playing nice
She’s my diamond in the rough
And I can’t get enough of that stuff…

“I wanted a solid rock and roll song to kick this album off, and I believe this one delivers,” says Gogo. “I love the fantastic ‘70s rock bands like Bad Company and T-Rex, and we had a gas laying this track down!”

The album is packed with ten electrifying tracks, including “One More Day,” “Moose Hall Brawl,” and a dynamic cover of Shuggie Otis’ “Hurricane.” Recorded at The Ganaraska Recording Co. in Ontario, YEAH! was produced by fellow blues heavyweight Steve Marriner and features an all-star lineup, including Jimmy Bowskill and Gary Craig.

“I have recorded many albums, worked with many talented people, and had a lot of fun, but this album is my favorite to date,” Gogo enthuses. “This group was a pleasure to create with—top-notch performers and super cool to hang with. The energy in the studio was incredible, and we kept things spontaneous with a lot of first and second takes to capture that live feel.”

With over three decades in the industry, Gogo has built a reputation as a fiery performer and masterful guitarist. He has shared the stage with B.B. King, Johnny Winter, Albert Collins, Bo Diddley, and Otis Rush, and has opened for icons like ZZ Top, George Thorogood, The Tragically Hip, Jimmie Vaughan, Robert Cray, and Robin Trower.

Gogo’s music has been featured in films and TV shows, and his songs have been covered by legendary blues artists, including Buddy Guy.
With his latest JUNO nomination, an electrifying new album, and a tour packed with must-see performances, David Gogo proves once again why he’s a force to be reckoned with in the blues world.

Christophe Elie Attends International Folk Conference And Confirms Peace Train to UN for Nuclear Treaty Talks

0

Headed to Montreal for Folk Alliance International (FAI) in Montreal, acclaimed folk artist Christophe Elie also has his sights set on another profound journey of music and activism. On March 2, Elie will board the Peace Train, traveling from Montreal to New York City alongside Green Party Leader Elizabeth May and other peace advocates to take part in the United Nations Meetings on the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons (March 3-7, 2025).

Elie is honoured to be performing two showcases at this year’s Folk Alliance International, where he will be sharing the stage with fellow artists and will introduce audiences to new material from his upcoming album.

FAI brings together industry professionals, songwriters, and DJs from over 50 countries, making it an unparalleled opportunity for Elie to connect with folk music’s global community. His sets will feature songs from his forthcoming album, his latest release Columbia, and a re-release of Trump’s Tweets.

As a DJ for CKCU with his own show Songs for the Revolution, Elie plans to soak in the event from another perspective, capturing moments to share with his listeners back home.

Carrying the energy of FAI, Elie will soon embark on another meaningful endeavor—joining the Peace Train on March 2, traveling from Montreal to NYC for the Third Meeting of States Parties to the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons at the United Nations.

The Peace Train movement, which previously made an impact in Canada with events in Ottawa, aims to bring together artists, activists, and political leaders to advocate for nuclear disarmament through music and dialogue. Inspired by the legendary “Peace Train” song by Yusuf Islam (Cat Stevens), Elie is working to organize a performance in New York City—Peace Train: A Night of Music and Words for World Peace.

“When I received the invite for this trip, my only thought was—how am I going to make this happen? Peace has always colored my art and found its way into my songs. From Firekeeper, the fictitious story of a soldier from Whitby, to Mirrors, set in the now-destroyed Gaza city, and my latest release Columbia, the question for peace is always the same: ‘Where do you hide?’” – Christophe Elie

In addition to his performances and activism, Elie is currently working on his next album, produced by Juno-nominated Gareth Auden Hole (Jack Pine and The Fire). The album explores themes of peace, immigration, protest, and the fragile state of our world today. With six songs already recorded, Elie is shaping a collection that reflects both the urgency of the present and the timelessness of folk storytelling.

Alt-Rocker Tim Steinruck Confronts His Past Self in Soulful New Single “Letting You Go” Featuring Sarah Smith

0

There often comes a time in a relationship when you realize that what used to sustain you no longer works for you, and that you need to move on. But what if the relationship is with yourself?

On his new single, “Letting You Go,” Coquitlam B.C. alt-rocker Tim Steinruck confronts the man he used to be, and hands him a breakup letter that’s as eloquent in its execution as its message is heartfelt.

Comparing his former self to a “darkness” and a “virus,” Steinruck takes a hard look in the mirror and announces that he’s cutting ties. “I want you to know/ I see who you are /And I’m letting go,” he declares. “I don’t need you now.”

Musically, the song has everything it takes to make that kiss-off land with all the force it deserves. It’s an instantly indelible latter-day muscle ballad, with a hint of country to widen its appeal. Joining Steinruck on the second verse is fellow BC singer-songwriter Sarah smith, who in the accompanying music video literally meets him at a crossroads to lend her vocal and moral support.

Arriving at that crossroads is the culmination of a five- decade journey for Steinruck, who’s finally been able to divest himself of the self-flagellation he learned from his harsh Mennonite upbringing. The casualties of that mindset were copious: a failed marriage, dead-end forays into the film and cleaning businesses, and an ill-fated management and recording deal with Paul Stanley of KISS (one of Steinruck’s childhood idols) were among the casualties before he finally learned to get out of his own way.

The catalyst was a transformative life-coaching session on New Year’s Eve 2020, which showed Steinruck how deeply rooted his self-defeating tendencies were, and how he could live a different life free of shame and ego. So it’s only appropriate that he now works in the self-empowerment field himself, as an Accelerated Evolution (TM) Success Coach who helps lead others on journeys of personal emancipation like the one he’s traveled.

At the same time, his creative life continues to flourish. Triumphs like “Letting You Go” exemplify his success as both a solo artist (where he’s billed simply as Steinruck) and the leader of the project The Mighty One, which he calls a cross between band and an alter ego. Both undertakings allow him to express a new kind of spirituality, one more nurturing and forward-facing than the shame-based theology he was raised with that took so long to shake off.

But the fruits of his self-improvement don’t stop there. Today, Steinruck runs a record company, a reality TV show, and an independent multimedia network. He’s the proprietor of Begin Street Studios in Coquitlam, which provides recording, mixing, mastering, and production facilities for musicians and others who are looking to polish their presentation. Clients can also avail themselves of his songwriting smarts. Double up with his life coaching, and they might find themselves just as successful and enlightened as he’s become.

“I am passionate about songwriting, performing, and supporting and guiding independent artists’ careers,” he says. “I am also committed to the study of human psycho-spirituality and the power of discipline and purpose. My journey to becoming a certified Accelerated Evolution (TM) Success Coach not only transformed my life but also continues to transform the lives of those I serve. Armed with these priceless life lessons and gifts, I stand here now, committed to supporting others to create their legacy, as I continue to expand my own.”

Sue Foley Receives 2025 JUNO Award Nomination for Blues Album of the Year

0

Topping off an amazing year since the Stony Plain release of her ONE GUITAR WOMAN album, Sue Foley is honoured with a JUNO Award nomination for Blues Album of the Year, her 6th nomination with 1 win for 2001’s LOVE COMIN’ DOWN. In a year that has seen her fourth consecutive Blues Music Award for Female Blues Artist, three Blues Blast Music Awards and a GRAMMY Award nomination, this distinction is particularly meaningful for Sue, who enthuses:

“I’m beyond thrilled that ONE GUITAR WOMAN has been honored with a Juno Award nomination for Blues Album of the Year. This project has been a true labor of love, and seeing it resonate with so many people since its release has been amazing.

After an unforgettable experience at the Grammys this year — a milestone in my career – I’m especially moved to receive this recognition in my home country of Canada. There’s something truly special about standing alongside my fellow Canadian artists and representing our incredible music scene on the world stage.”

ONE GUITAR WOMAN has been celebrated by ecstatic press, radio and fans alike, gracing magazine covers, topping radio charts, and selling out shows and tours across the US, Canada and beyond. In this moving solo acoustic tribute to the female pioneers of guitar (Elizabeth Cotten, Memphis Minnie, Maybelle Carter, Lydia Mendoza, Elvie Thomas and Geeshie Wiley, Sister Rosetta Tharpe, Ida Presti, and Charo), Sue not only shows her total mastery of their styles and techniques, she seems to summon the spirits of her long gone teachers, letting them speak through her voice and guitar.

The 54th Annual JUNO Awards will take place March 30, 2025 in Rogers Arena, Vancouver, Canada.

Montreal Folk Singer Brian Campbell Ignites a Blues Rock Protest Anthem with “Planet on Fire”

0

With the climate crisis reaching a crucial crossroads, Montreal-based folk singer Brian Campbell has penned a passionate call to do whatever one can to save the planet. From devastating fires internationally to Earth’s unnerving rise in temperature, Campbell’s latest single “Planet on Fire” is a proverbial eye-opening anthem on what needs to be done from big business on down the line. Yet the natural feeling of the terrific single is a bit outside the folk musician’s wheelhouse.

“It’s quite clear that ‘Planet on Fire,’ a blues rock protest song, is an outlier: most of what I do is acoustic folk,” Campbell says of the single. “Extreme circumstances bring on extreme measures, one could say. As a protest song, I also admit that the song feels more partisan than I am. Its broad-stroke distinctions of rich and poor, it’s pointing at “the enemy” in their corner offices who ‘refuse to see,’ may lack nuance, but unfortunately far too many corner office denizens really do live up to the stereotype, and far too many of the rich and powerful really ‘don’t give a damn.'”

Campbell says “Planet on Fire” originally started as a simple riff back in 2018, but nothing came to him immediately. At that time, cataclysmic fires in Fort McMurray, Alberta, were fresh memories as fires in Greece and California were out of control.

The following year, fires in Australia and Brazil raged, leaving scorched swaths of land in their wake. News of ice caps melting also made headlines. In short, it was a stark reminder of the climate crisis.

The emergence of Swedish then-teenager Greta Thunberg on the environmental scene struck a chord with the musician, particularly her damning speech at the 2019 UN Climate Action Summit towards world leaders with their heads in the sand. Campbell later attended a Climate Strike march in Montreal, where Thunberg spoke. Inspired by the event, Campbell the next day found the lyrics for “Planet on Fire” pouring out of him. He recorded the song in 2019 at Montreal’s Studio Loco and released a video for it.

Fast forward to 2025. Campbell, witnessing the fires that wiped out portions of Los Angeles, felt it was time to release the song on his upcoming album Let’s Talk. “Not a day goes by, it seems, when there isn’t another alarming headline,” Campbell says.

“Planet on Fire,” is a stark, sobering account of what has transpired with global warming. Recalling the works of Fred Eaglesmith, and the iconic Bruce Cockburn, Campbell is accompanied by Chard Chénier on harmonica, giving the song a bluesy feel. Campbell’s arranger and collaborator Martin Bennett provides some fine lead guitar playing to flesh out the already weighty, beefy single. Bennett, who also engineered “Planet on Fire,” plays piano, a sampled bass and percussion, while Campbell sings and plays acoustic and electric guitar.

“Planet on Fire” is from the upcoming studio album Let’s Talk, slated for release in late April. Campbell described the album as an effort that “references communication and miscommunication in love, politics, and war.” The single and album follow two full-length albums and two EPs Campbell’s released over his career.

A published poet with several collections, Campbell’s musical journey began in Antigua, Guatemala. Taking a Spanish immersion course there, Campbell learned fingerstyle picking from a fellow student. Influenced by musicians like Dave Van Ronk and John Renbourn as well as Latin American singer-songwriters like Victor Jara and Violeta Parra, Campbell moved to Montreal in 1990 and composed over two dozen original songs in one summer. He released The Imaginary Album in 1996 and The Courtier’s Manuscript in 2002, the latter featuring “To My Whimsical Love” which was lauded by the International Unisong Competition.

Campbell has routinely performed at Montreal’s Mariposa Café and in several folk venues around Quebec including Acoustic Village and the NDG (Notre-Dame-de-Grâce) and Hudson Porchfests. He has also performed on various campus and community radio programs. Additional EPs include On This Shore and 2024’s A Crystal Rim. Meanwhile, Campbell, featured by Tinnitist and Record World International, released his previous full-length album, By The River’s Blue, in 2022.

Campbell will celebrate the release of Let’s Talk with an album launch party at Montreal’s Mariposa Cafe on April 26. But for now, fans will be delighted to hear “Planet on Fire,” a song that is incredibly easy on the ears despite its message being hefty and heart-wrenching.

Unique Star Wars Themed Toys For Collectors And Fans

0

By Mitch Rice

Be honest – how many times have you wandered into a toy aisle, spotted Star Wars on the shelves, and felt… nothing? It’s like meeting someone who says they like Star Wars, but can’t name which planet the Rebel base moved to after Yavin. You smile politely but internally? You check out.

What most of those mass-produced toys offer is quantity, not craft. Lightweight (under 150 grams) plastics, soft sculpts, paint apps that look like someone rushed them out during a coffee break. Collectors call them shelf-warmers for a reason. There they sit – rows of Black Series figures on clearance racks, waiting to be pitied.

Why? Because these toys aren’t for you. They’re for casual parents on a Target run, not for someone who remembers freezing their Kenner Tauntaun in the actual snow during winter of ’89.

Now, contrast that with holding a Hot Toys MMS517 Luke Skywalker (Bespin Ver.). The stitching on the fatigues, the subtle scuff on the boots, the saber that doesn’t look like a plastic glow stick – you don’t just see Luke. You feel him standing there, on the edge of the carbon freezing chamber.

Want to know why it hits different? Because you’re not buying plastic. You’re buying the moment when you were seven and swore you’d build a homemade lightsaber out of a broomstick and duct tape. Luckily there are now great company that make duel ready lightsabers that feel and sound just like the real thing – we recommend Galaxy Sabers.

Understanding the production intent of each line helps you steer away from toy aisles and towards legacy-worthy finds.

Discover Hidden Gems That Most Fans Miss – And Why They’re So Rare

Quick gut check: Have you ever scrolled eBay for an hour, only to find the same 5 Black Series Mandos and a million Funko Pops?

(Hint: If everyone has it, it’s probably not worth fighting over.)

The true grails? They hide in plain sight:

  • The SDCC 2016 Black Series Kylo Ren Centerpiece (only 3,000 units made)
  • The Regal Robot Life-Size Tauntaun Bust – limited to 150, sculpted by artists who literally worked on The Mandalorian set
  • Tokyo-only releases like the Medicom Sofubi Darth Vader – standing proudly at 300mm, soft vinyl never looked so mean

Why are they so rare? Because Lucasfilm licensing is tighter than the Death Star trash compactor. Production numbers are often capped at just 1-5% of the quantities you see in big-box retail. These aren’t weekend releases – they’re practically sliced portions of the galaxy, handed only to those paying attention.

Remember the Hot Toys Shadow Trooper (TMS015)? It wasn’t even marketed heavily. Yet, those who whispered on the right forums or checked obscure Hong Kong distributors bagged it for $230. By the time mainstream collectors woke up? $800, easy.

TIP: Get tight with independent retailers who specialize in Star Wars – not Marvel, not general pop culture – just Star Wars. Think of them like Dex’s Diner, the place where the best stuff isn’t on the menu.

Once you understand how Star Wars licensing and boutique manufacturing work, you’ll realize most fans are missing half the market entirely.

Next: How To Spot Authentic Pieces That Deserve Space On Your Shelf

Authenticity Check: How To Instantly Identify If A Collectible Is Truly Special

Ever stare at a listing and think, is this legit, or is someone selling me a bootleg from Mos Espa’s black market?

Truth is, fakes are getting good. But collectors with a sharp eye? They still win.

Checklist for surviving the galactic counterfeit trade:

  • Certificates of Authenticity – real ones shimmer with holographic seals (usually Level 3 tamper-proof), embossed logos, or watermarks.
  • Serial Numbers – no serial, no sale. Sideshow’s Premium Format figures, for example, are individually numbered under the base (e.g., 1427/5000).
  • Material Inspection – if it feels like a Happy Meal toy, walk away. Hot Toys, for example, layers 4 stages of airbrushed weathering on armor. The fakes? One lazy spray.

Story time: I was once handed a Gentle Giant Jumbo Kenner Chewbacca that, at first glance, seemed real. But something was off – the bandolier paint? Too bright, about 15% more saturated than documented runs. A quick check on Rebelscum’s cardback gallery sealed it: a reproduction, cleverly aged.

Here’s the pro move: Get nerdy about factory code stamps. Vintage Kenner? You’ll spot “HK” (Hong Kong) or “GMFGI 1977” molded into the legs. Bootlegs often skip this entirely, or worse, fake it with sloppy fonts.

Think of it like spotting a lightsaber in a crowd – if you know what you’re looking for, you’ll never mistake a training saber for the real thing.

Mastering authentication isn’t just about avoiding fakes – it’s about gaining the kind of expertise that earns nods from other serious collectors.

Next: The Emotional Payoff – Why Some Toys Make You Smile Every Time You See Them

Why Certain Pieces Carry More Nostalgia Than Others – Even If They Aren’t The Most Expensive

Question: Have you ever held a toy and been hit – not by its rarity – but by the ghost of Christmas past?

That’s nostalgia doing its job. In collecting, price and value don’t always align. In fact, some of the most prized pieces? Dirt cheap, technically.

That 1984 Ewok Village Playset you built with your cousin during summer vacation? It wasn’t just plastic trees. It was your first engineering project – balancing Rebel troops across plastic drawbridges that defied physics. Retail back then? $29.99. Today? A solid $500 if boxed, but worth far more if it brings you back to building Endor battles on shag carpet.

Or take the Power of the Force Yak Face. Ever seen a room go quiet at a toy fair when someone opens a tackle box full of carded POTF figures? I did. A guy pulled out a slightly yellowed Yak Face (AFA 75), and grown adults visibly gasped – not because it’s “expensive” (though $600+ isn’t chump change), but because we all remembered flipping through the Kenner catalog and dreaming.

What actually holds value?

  • Original LEGO sets like the 7190 Millennium Falcon with only 663 pieces (compared to today’s 7,541).
  • “Blue Snaggletooth” – a Sears-exclusive factory error that, despite being a goof, is now a crown jewel worth 10x the corrected version.
  • Pre-special edition items, untouched by Lucasfilm’s 1997 CGI enthusiasm.

Mini pro tip: Keep a collector’s logbook. Not just price or condition, but why it matters to you. Over time, you’ll have something better than an insurance list – you’ll have a story.

True value lives at the intersection of nostalgia and scarcity – not on a price sticker.

Next: Tapping Into Modern Releases That Still Capture The Magic

Modern-Day Releases That Actually Deserve A Spot In Your Collection

Here’s a hot take: not all modern Star Wars merch is junk. In fact, some of it could wipe the floor with vintage if you know where to look.

Modern pieces worth your shelf space:

  • Hot Toys DX17 Darth Maul with Bloodfin Speeder – the LED saber alone makes you want to duel the air. It includes rolling eyeballs, a metal chain-link belt, and over 30 articulation points. Retail: $345.
  • Regal Robot’s Mythosaur Skull – towering at 17.5 inches, this isn’t just a resin prop. It’s the kind of wall piece that makes even non-collectors say, “Is that from Boba Fett’s armor?” Limited to 250.
  • LEGO UCS Razor Crest – over 6,187 pieces, measuring 28 inches long, with an interior that’s basically a diorama. Plus, it secretly fixes all the inaccuracies the Hasbro HasLab version had.
  • Hasbro’s Vintage Collection VC0001 – yes, 3.75-inch scale, but with today’s 14+ articulation points and photoreal face printing? These aren’t retro – they’re time machines.

When I assembled the UCS Millennium Falcon (the 75192, the monster with 7,541 pieces), I realized LEGO added design commentary explaining why battle damage was placed where it was. That’s not just a kit; that’s storytelling in plastic form. It took me and two friends 12 weeks to finish – longer than the actual Death Star construction (well, almost).

Collector hint: Modern releases often have shorter production windows. Some Hot Toys figures are up for preorder for only 60 days before vanishing into aftermarket oblivion.

When you know which modern pieces are made by fans, not just factories, you stop settling for mediocrity.

Next: Where To Actually Find These Rare Treasures Without Paying Scalper Prices

Where (and How) To Secure Rare Star Wars Collectibles Without Paying Scalper Prices

Let’s kill the myth: you don’t need Jabba’s wallet to score incredible Star Wars pieces. What you need is networking and timing, not blind luck.

Here’s how pros play:

  • Star Wars Celebration is the collectors’ version of the Jedi Temple archives. From LEGO Lars Family Homestead Kitchen (5,000-unit exclusive) to Hot Toys early reveals – this is where deals happen before they hit eBay.
  • Forums like Rebelscum and TheRPF? Think of them as the Mos Eisley Cantina, but without the bounty hunters (mostly).
  • Direct boutiques – Sideshow, Regal Robot, eFx – often quietly open “priority preorder” windows to newsletter subscribers. Want early access? Be the fan who reads the emails, not just clicks unsubscribe.

Case in point: I helped a friend grab the Mythos Obi-Wan (Sideshow, 2013) within its 72-hour preorder window. By Christmas? The price had doubled. Not because he was lucky, but because he was ready.

Advanced move: Build a local collector circle. Many of the best trades, estate sale tips, or forgotten toy store finds don’t even make it online. They’re passed along at coffee shops and swap meets like Jedi holocrons.

The most passionate collectors aren’t the richest – they’re the most prepared.

Produced by Chris LaCorte, What Not To is rich in interconnected themes, “like red yarn connecting a bunch of pins on a wall,” Wetmore says. But all of the album is informed by the message of its title track, which Wetmore wrote with his best friend Jacob Hackworth, LaCorte and Nashville powerhouses Chase McGill and Jameson Rogers. A deeply personal song to Wetmore,  which he gave a soul-stirring piano performance from the Ryman stage — “What Not To” is about struggle, compassion and salvation. “Momma said you don’t pray no more/breaks my heart, so I do it for you,” Wetmore sings in the title track.

Bringing fans deeper into the excitement of What Not To, Wetmore drops “3,2,1,” available everywhere now. The song will also serve as his lead single at Country radio, going for adds on March 10 and follows Wetmore’s recent No. 1 debut “Wind Up Missin’ You.” Steeped in hook-driven melodies and clever turns of phrase, the infectious track written by Josh Miller, Summer Overstreet and Jordan Reynolds tells the story of regret and missed chances: “three words, two late, damn girl you’re the one that got away.” Watch the lyric video here.

Wetmore has spent the last year in overdrive, skyrocketing from a budding star to one of the genre’s most in-demand new acts. His RIAA PLATINUM-certified No.1 hit single “Wind Up Missin’ You” dominated the charts and earned him an iHeartRadio Music Awards nomination for Best New Country Artist and was just tapped as an Opry NextStage Artist.

He recently made his national television debut on NBC’s TODAY with Jenna & Friends (WATCH), performed at Luke Bryan’s CRASH MY PLAYA in Riviera Cancun, Mexico and is set to take on Country 2 Country (C2C) in March. His trip across the pond is bolstered by dates from his extended WAVES ON A SUNSET TOUR 2025, including a sold-out stop at London’s Electric Ballroom. He will also join Thomas Rhett’s BETTER IN BOOTS TOUR 2025 as direct support across 33 dates this summer.

Just days away from the one year anniversary of his head-turning debut, Wetmore has proven to be unstoppable, fueled by his back-to-back Billboard Hot 100 hits “Wine Into Whiskey” and “Wind Up Missin’ You.” After releasing his debut EP Waves on a Sunset in October, his catalog has amassed him more than 780 million total global streams to date and has earned spots on coveted Artist to Watch lists from Spotify, Billboard, VEVO, MusicRow and many more.

Having notched back-to-back spots on Billboard‘s Hot 100 chart with his RIAA PLATINUM-certified debut singles “Wine Into Whiskey” and “Wind Up Missin’ You” and surpassing over 780 million streams in less than a year, Washington-born singer-songwriter Tucker Wetmore is well on the way to becoming a certified breakout country star. Wetmore signed a major-label record deal last summer with UMG Nashville in partnership with Back Blocks Music, had two songs featured on the star-studded Twisters soundtrack (“Already Had It” and “Steal My Thunder” (with Conner Smith)), made his Grand Ole Opry debut and delivered his first EP, Waves on a Sunset. He brought his music directly to fans on tour with Kameron Marlowe and Luke Bryan before selling out his first-ever headlining tour WAVES ON A SUNSET TOUR 2024. Now, in 2025, the skyrocketing talent will extend his headlining efforts with dates in the UK, US and Europe before joining Thomas Rhett’s BETTER IN BOOTS TOUR 2025 as direct supportWetmore will continue releasing new music, with songs that reflect his cross-genre musical upbringing, embracing all manners of country, reggae, rock and hip-hop, albeit anchored by classic country storytelling. Wetmore enters 2025 as One to Watch by Billboard, MusicRow, VEVO, Spotify, the Grand Ole Opry and more, with his debut single “Wind Up Missin’ You” already earning him his first No.1 on the Mediabase Country chart.

Sam Fender today releases his third album, the critically acclaimed People Watching. It follows 2021’s chart-topping Seventeen Going Under and is released via Polydor Records.

Now solidified as one of Britain’s most accomplished songwriters of his generation and the next, if Seventeen Going Under was Sam’s “coming of age” record, People Watching is his next step forward – colourful stories and observations of everyday characters living their everyday, but often extraordinary, lives.

The British artist recently announced three big outdoor shows in Manchester (Wythenshawe Park), Edinburgh’s Summer Sessions (at Royal Highland Showgrounds), and Belfast as part of the VITAL series (at Boucher Road Playing Fields) in August.
