Jazz Aspen Snowmass 2025: Star-Studded Lineup Announced for JAS June Experience

Jazz Aspen Snowmass (JAS) is thrilled to reveal the initial artist and venue lineup for the 2025 JAS June Experience, taking place June 26–29 in downtown Aspen. With concerts happening daily at twelve different venues, the JAS June Experience offers fans an immersive musical journey through jazz, blues, soul, funk, world, New Orleans traditions, and more.

“The JAS June Experience has found its footing in the last few years and now is marked by huge anticipation. The multi-venue format really has become as much the star as any individual Artist. So much to choose from in such a small area, the downtown core of Aspen,” said JAS President and CEO Jim Horowitz. “With planning heating up for JAS’ permanent home at The Paul JAS Center above the historic Red Onion, it’s exciting to imagine the future of this event when we add this new venue to our collection of diverse concert locations at the June Experience.”

From Grammy winners and nominees to the best emerging talents, international artists, vocalists, and instrumental groups, this year’s June Experience truly offers something for every music lover. Attendees can stroll from venue to venue throughout Aspen’s downtown core, with musicians often performing multiple times over the weekend—ideal for discovering new favorites or revisiting standout sets in an intimate, up-close setting.

CLOSING BRUNCH: SUNDAY, JUNE 29

The June Experience concludes with a New Orleans Brunch at the Rio Grande Park VIP Tent featuring Sasha’s Bloc, a hard-swinging jazz collective evoking the exuberant big band sounds of the 1920s–40s. Tickets include a classic New Orleans Jazz Brunch with bottomless mimosas, a Bloody Mary Bar, and authentic French Quarter–inspired cuisine.

The tradition continues! Willie Nelson’s 4th of July Picnic and Fireworks is returning to Austin, TX, this time at Germania Insurance Amphitheater on July 4, 2025. America’s beloved icon Willie Nelson, who created this annual event in 1973, is bringing a star-studded lineup back to Austin, TX, featuring Willie Nelson & Family, Bob Dylan, The Avett Brothers, The Mavericks, Asleep At The Wheel, and Tami Neilson.

“I’m 92 years old and I’ll be there so you have no excuse,” said Willie Nelson. “I look forward to bringing back my annual 4th of July Picnic to the city I love and sharing this special event with all my Austin fans.”

1. The Album Cover Is a Surreal Collage of Dylan’s Influences

The striking cover of Bringing It All Back Home isn’t just a random snapshot—it’s a carefully constructed statement. Photographed by Daniel Kramer, the image shows Dylan lounging with Sally Grossman (wife of his manager, Albert Grossman) in a room filled with significant artifacts. Among them? Records by Robert Johnson, Ravi Shankar, The Impressions, and Lotte Lenya, all of whom were crucial influences on Dylan’s evolving sound. A copy of Time magazine featuring President Lyndon B. Hearing John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr talk about the power of electric music left a lasting impression. When Dylan returned to the studio months later, he brought a new vision—one that fused his lyrical depth with the electricity of rock. The result? The issue resurfaced when the album was reissued on CD, where the words Saturate Before Using even appeared on the spine! Despite the confusion, the album remains officially self-titled.

2. “Doctor, My Eyes” Was Originally a Dark, Depressing Song

It’s hard to imagine Doctor, My Eyes—a song with such an upbeat, piano-driven hook—being anything other than a breezy radio staple. But Jackson Browne’s original version was drastically different. His early demos of the song were slower and far more melancholy, reflecting the weight of heartbreak and emotional detachment. It wasn’t until producer Richard Sanford Orshoff suggested a more driving arrangement and Graham Nash and David Crosby added their signature harmonies that the song took on its now-iconic sound. The final result? A Top 10 hit that disguised its deep existential pain behind a deceptively cheerful melody.

3. The Byrds Released “Jamaica Say You Will” Before Browne Did

Most people associate Jamaica Say You Will with Jackson Browne, but did you know The Byrds recorded and released it first?
