Travis Bolt Unleashes Soul-Stirring New Single “Seasons” Ahead of 2026 Debut Album ‘Burning Bridges’

0

Rising East Texas singer-songwriter today released, “Seasons,” his new single and masterclass in moody country rock, showcasing Bolt’s powerful vocals and diaristic gift for transforming personal pain into universally relatable storytelling. Travis Bolt has announced the release of his debut full-length album, Burning Bridges, will be arriving March 6, 2026 via Gravel Road.

Of the track, Bolt shared, “Sometimes love can change as fast as the weather. Like sunshine one minute and a storm the next. But when the connection is strong you often times feel the need to see it through.”

Proceeds from royalties generated from the song will be donated to NAMI, the National Alliance on Mental Illness. They are the nation’s largest grassroots mental health organization and are dedicated to building better lives for the millions of Americans affected by mental illness. Their alliance includes more than 650 NAMI State Organizations and Affiliates who work in communities raising awareness, providing support and education to those in need. For more information please visit: https://www.nami.org/

Gravel Road Records president Anthony Martini, “Music can be a powerful tool to help people through the dark days, this is something I know first hand. We all struggle at times and it’s important to destigmatize asking for help. Seasons’ is a powerful song, so pairing it with a cause and organization like NAMI felt right. We’ll proudly be donating all royalties from the song through December 31st to help fund the critical mental health resources they provide.”

On the campaign to raise funds for NAMI, Bolt explains, “I made ‘Seasons’ during a time when everything in my life felt like it was falling apart and even during my best days I still had my doubts. I learned that even the hardest seasons would eventually pass, but none of us should have to go through them alone. Partnering with NAMI is important to me because we can all use a reminder that there are people out there who care and are willing to help when you need it.”

Kasey Smith, Executive Director of NAMI, North Texas added, “Music has a unique ability to reach people in moments when they feel unseen or overwhelmed. We’re grateful to partner with Travis Bolt and his label Gravel Road Records to help reinforce the message that no one has to face mental health or substance use struggles alone.”

Produced by Jason Burt (Leon Bridges, John Mayer, Paul Cauthen), Burning Bridges blends raw country songwriting with urgent rock guitars and pounding drums, all anchored by Bolt’s unflinching, soulful voice. Across its tracks, Bolt channels heartbreak, perseverance, and redemption—each song a chapter in a larger story of self-discovery.

Bolt’s journey to music was anything but typical. Diagnosed with Tourette’s Syndrome as a child, he discovered that playing guitar quieted his symptoms — a form of therapy that quickly became his lifeline. “It’s the best medicine I’ve found,” he says. “And I’ve taken all of them.”

Growing up in East Texas, Bolt was immersed in country music at a young age, with early exposure to artists like Randy Rogers and Wade Bowen through his father’s work, supplying backstage BBQ to Larry Joe Taylor’s famed music festival. His influences evolved from bluegrass to blues to country rock, shaping the eclectic style that now defines his sound.

After years of grinding in bands, in between servicing Harley Davidson motorcycles in his spare time, and booking his own shows, Bolt’s breakthrough came with “Never Tried Cocaine.” Released independently, the song went viral on TikTok and streaming platforms, amassing over 30 million streams, half a million new followers, and spots on Spotify’s Fresh Finds and multiple Apple Music country playlists. The track also earned Bolt a standing ovation opening for Paul Cauthen at the Ryman Auditorium, plus a European run at Country to Country Fest.

With momentum surging, Bolt is poised for a massive 2026 singles including “Coming Home” that capture both his hard-won resilience and his emergence as one of country music’s most soulful new voices.

Bolt’s gritty songwriting is poised to carry him far beyond his East Texas roots. With Burning Bridges, he proves he’s not just surviving his battles — he’s transforming them into anthems for anyone seeking the strength to do the same.

Spotify Canada Marks 11 Years Investing in Creators, Fans and Culture – with a Spotlight on Quebec and Francophone Culture

0

Fresh off an unforgettable performance by Charlotte Cardin at Spotify’s EQUAL Fest – its very first large-scale festival dedicated to Francophone female artists from around the world — Spotify Canada is marking its 11th anniversary in Quebec with record growth, new investments in creators and fans, and a deepening commitment to Francophone culture. From international stages to local playlists, Spotify continues to amplify Quebec’s voices and bring the province’s rich musical identity to audiences around the world.

Spotlighting the Quebec Artists and Francophone Music Making It Big on Spotify

For more than a decade, Spotify has grown from its roots in Sweden to help artists worldwide build loyal audiences — and in 2025, that partnership is reaching new heights both in and expanding out of Quebec.

Over the past year, Spotify’s royalty payments generated by Quebec artists has expanded significantly. Quebec artists are defined as artists self-reporting a Quebec city as their locality. Royalties generated by self-reporting Quebec artists on Spotify alone in 2024 grew over 20% year on year, and the number of self-reporting Quebec artists generating above $10k is growing at each threshold.

Spotify makes discovering Francophone music easier – and Quebecers agree:

  • 4 in 5 Quebecers (82%) agree they can easily find French-Canadian content on Spotify*.
  • Francophone music continues to gain popularity, with streams in Quebec up 16% YOY, outpacing global growth in streams of Francophone music throughout 2024 (+15%).
  • More than half (55%) of all Francophone music streamed in Quebec comes from Canadian artists.
  • Streams of Francophone music among 18–24-year-olds jumped 32% YOY, with nearly 4 in 10 Francophone streams coming from listeners under 29.

Altogether, Quebecers streamed 7.8B minutes of Francophone music in 2025, with listening more than doubling on Saint-Jean-Baptiste Day (+115%) — proof that Quebecers are embracing Spotify as a home for cultural expression.

Building Fan-First Experiences

Spotify is also investing in how Quebecers listen, with a new lineup of features that make music more vivid, personal, and connected. These new tools are more than just technical upgrades — they make it easier for Quebec fans to experience more music, including music in French, discover local cultural moments, and share playlists that celebrate their favourite artists.

  • Venue Search, letting fans follow their favourite local stages like Montreal’s Bell Centre
  • In-app music sharing and chat, for easier discovery and conversation
  • Fine-tuned Taste Profiles and playlist blending for greater personalization
  • Lossless audio, delivering crystal-clear sound for all Premium users

Listeners in Quebec and Canada are also engaging with Spotify’s newly launched audiobooks offer, with Francophone audiobook listening in Canada up 121% year-over-year – another sign that digital discoverability is augmenting French-language storytelling. And with the launch of Audiobooks+, listeners now have even more choice and additional hours of storytelling — perfect for Quebec’s most devoted book lovers.

Spotify Canada continues to dive deeper into artists and groups from Québec, and now features Francophone artists on 24 playlists, with 15 playlists totally dedicated to Québec and its incredible music scenes – whether it’s new Country music, trending R&B, edgy Alternative, or classics for the whole family.

Investing in Quebec Talent

To build on this momentum, Spotify is expanding its on-the-ground presence with new hires dedicated to supporting Canadian and Quebecois artists and audiences.

  • Nick Younès joins as Francophone Editor, Spotify Canada, curating playlists that spotlight French-Canadian artists for listeners around the world.
  • Ali Hills joins as Artist and Label Partnerships Manager, Spotify Canada, focused on helping Quebec’s artists and labels grow their careers and deepen fan connections.

“Quebec’s Francophone music has never travelled this far, this fast — and Spotify is investing in that growth,” said Elizabeth Phipps, Artist and Label Partnerships Lead, Spotify Canada“We aspire to be a cultural ally to Quebec’s fans and artists. When creators have the freedom and tools to connect with fans on their own terms, Quebec’s culture doesn’t just survive — it thrives.”

Empowering Quebec’s Creators

Innovation extends to creators too, with new features helping Quebec voices grow and connect more deeply with audiences:

  • Tools in Spotify for Artists include Countdown Pages to build anticipation, the Campaign Kit to promote new music, and Clips and Canvas visuals to bring releases to life.
  • Spotify for Podcasters has rolled out ClipsHost Recommendations and an expanded Partner Program, helping Quebec creators grow their audiences, engage with fans, and earn directly from their shows.
  • Spotify for Authors now offers direct publication, promo tools, and audience insights – empowering Francophone authors to better understand and expand their listenership.

Together, these tools are helping Quebec’s artists, podcasters, and storytellers build engaged communities, share their craft, and strengthen the province’s growing influence in global audio culture. They give Quebec artists and storytellers the ability to directly engage with fans — empowering them to earn discoverability through their craft and creativity.

As Spotify marks 11 years in Canada and Quebec, the nation’s cultural heartbeat has never sounded stronger – with Canadian and French-Canadian culture strengthened in the digital age. With every investment, innovation, playlist, partnership, and performance, Canadian and Quebecois artists are finding new audiences – and Spotify is proud to help their stories travel the world.

Jesse Welles Delivers Stirring Solo Performance of “Join ICE” on Colbert

Viral musical sensation Jesse Welles brings his GRAMMY-nominated political folk to The Late Show with Stephen Colbert for a solo performance of “Join ICE,” a tune from his latest EP, ‘No Kings.’

12 Essential Grunge Albums Straight Out Of Seattle

Grunge never follows rules. It spills out of garages, rattles basement rafters, and soaks into every flannel sleeve from Aberdeen to Capitol Hill. These albums shaped the noise, the mood, the sweat, and the stomp of a scene that still shakes speakers today. A couple of dark horses sneak in because Seattle never liked clean lists anyway.

Alice In Chains – Facelift
Riffs that roar, vocals that melt into each other, and a heaviness that hummed through every rehearsal space in the Northwest. This one took the Seattle sound and gave it extra voltage. The growl is real and the grit never lets up.

Babes In Toyland – Fontanelle
A wild and worthy album that carries the spirit of the era with fierce precision. Every track hits with a mix of chaos and clarity. The spark here feels handmade, loud, and proudly uneven in all the right ways.

Hole – Live Through This
Courtney Love tears open every emotion with a voice that swings from fury to fire. The songs bloom with raw honesty and that signature Pacific Northwest punch. It still walks into a room louder than anything around it.

L7 – Bricks Are Heavy
Thick riffs, sharp edges, and an unstoppable drive define this powerhouse. The hooks grab you fast and the attitude stays locked into every line. A grunge essential with its own swagger soaked into the sound.

Mad Season – Above
A supergroup that channels the entire Seattle atmosphere into one moody, glowing pulse. Layne Staley and Mark Lanegan create moments that feel suspended in fog. It is soft, loud, tender, and towering all at once.

Melvins – Bullhead
Slow, sludgy, and brilliant, the Melvins shaped the DNA of the scene. These songs stretch, stomp, and twist themselves into strange and unforgettable shapes. This is Pacific Northwest gravity at full pull.

Mudhoney – Every Good Boy Deserves Fudge
Garage grime and joyful noise fuel this cornerstone album. Guitars spiral, drums crash, and everything feels wonderfully unruly. Seattle’s humor and abrasion meet in the perfect middle.

Nirvana – Nevermind
A blast of melody and mayhem that sent the Seattle sound across every radio dial on the planet. Kurt Cobain pours spark and spirit into every hook. The album still feels like a match hitting gasoline.

Pearl Jam – Ten
A tidal wave of rhythm, emotion, and widescreen guitar power. Eddie Vedder’s voice climbs, dives, and glows with unmistakable force. The songs carry that Seattle pulse that refuses to fade.

Screaming Trees – Sweet Oblivion
Mark Lanegan’s voice glows like warm smoke over guitars that sparkle and surge. The songs wander and whirl with that signature Washington mystique. A grunge classic with soul in every corner.

Temple Of The Dog – Temple Of The Dog
Born from love, friendship, and shared history, this album holds the heart of the entire scene. Chris Cornell and Eddie Vedder create harmonies that feel timeless. The sound sweeps wide and stays with you long after.

The Gits – Frenching The Bully
A deep cut and a worthy dark horse powered by Mia Zapata’s fierce and unforgettable presence. The band crashes forward with punk energy wrapped in gritty Seattle spirit. Every track carries urgency, fire, and truth.

Spotify Expands Credits and Launches SongDNA for Premium Subscribers in Early 2026

0

Spotify is giving music credits the spotlight they deserve. Starting now for mobile and expanding to desktop in the coming months, fans can explore all contributors on a track—not just the topline names. Producers, engineers, performers, and more now get their shine.

Premium users will also soon unlock two new features: SongDNA, a rich interactive map of samples, covers, and collaborators powered by WhoSampled, and About the Song, a swipeable story deck offering behind-the-scenes insights. Early previews land for artists in 2026, and metadata redelivery is part of the rollout. “People discovered me through the credits long before the internet,” said producer Mike Dean. Spotify is taking it back to the liner-note era—with a tech-forward twist.

Jesse Creatchman Spins a Modern Folk-Blues Fable with “Fairytale Blues”

0

Montreal’s Jesse Creatchman has conjured up a blues tale straight from the smoky edge of the woods with “Fairytale Blues” — a spellbinding, harmonica-laced folk-blues single that feels both ancient and brand new. Released from the “12-bar dungeon,” the song leans hard into the tropes of classic storytelling, but Creatchman isn’t dealing in happily-ever-afters. There’s betrayal, there’s blood, and there’s a prince who doesn’t quite get the send-off you’d expect. With a dusty groove, vivid lyrical imagery, and Zeller’s harmonica howling like it’s half wolf, half ghost, “Fairytale Blues” marches to the beat of its own crooked folklore.

“I just had to follow the breadcrumbs,” Jesse says. Inspired by a stubborn lyric line stuck in his head, the song unfolded like a riddle solved in real time. “Once Upon A Time” became the doorway, and once he walked through, everything clicked. Shemerr grounded the rhythm, Dixon lit it up on guitar, and Zeller added that signature swampy harp. “Somehow he found a way to make it swampy and ornate,” Jesse adds. The result is a track with grit, grace, and something mythic in the mix — the kind of blues that winks as it stings.

Sampa the Great Declares a New Era with Fierce New Single “Can’t Hold Us”

0

Sampa the Great has officially entered her Nu Zamrock era. Her new single “Can’t Hold Us” is out now via Loma Vista Recordings, and it’s already making global waves as a standout track in EAFC 26. The powerful anthem channels hip-hop, soul, Zambian rhythm, and the spirit of Zamrock into one high-voltage declaration of purpose. The release comes with a visually stunning official visualizer by director Iggy London and lands just ahead of a free block party in Lusaka, Zambia on November 22, hosted in collaboration with the Lusaka Thrift Market. All profits from the event will go directly back into the local creative community.

“This is the declaration track,” says Sampa. “I’ve stepped into my power, into my sound, into my purpose. I’ve claimed this thing — Nu Zamrock — as something of my own, something I’m shaping in real time. And in this new form, with this much clarity and drive? You can’t hold us. You can’t stop us. Not anymore.” First teased live in Brixton with DJ AG and arriving shortly after her exclusive film track “GOAT” for HIM, the single also marks the first taste of her third full-length album. Following the critical success of As Above, So Below and The Return, Sampa is standing taller than ever, rooted in heritage and glowing with forward motion.
