Yamaha Confirms Automotive Audio Integration into North American Market

0

Yamaha Corporation (hereafter, Yamaha) confirms its partnership with Mitsubishi Motors North America, Inc. (MMNA) as part of the upcoming debut of the refreshed 2025 Mitsubishi Outlander, set for full unveiling in February 2025. The new Outlander features enhancements inside and out, highlighted by a premium audio system developed through an innovative collaboration with Yamaha.

In this groundbreaking partnership, Yamaha renowned audio experts have joined forces with Mitsubishi Motors’ engineers to develop two premium in-car sound systems specifically for the company’s flagship vehicle in the North American market. This marks the first time Yamaha has created a bespoke in-car audio system for a North American market vehicle, underscoring the significance of this collaboration.

However, this is not the first time Yamaha has partnered with Mitsubishi Motors. Internationally, in October 2024Yamaha Japan also debuted Yamaha-branded audio systems in the home-market Mitsubishi Outlander, following its initial integration with Mitsubishi’s XFORCE back in 2023. While the XFORCE is primarily available in the ASEAN region, this second venture will be featured in all 2025 Outlander models sold globally.

“We want to deliver excitement with a sound that impresses the driver’s heart and brings them closer to the artists. Yamaha respects the artists’ sounds, so we articulately craft the bass, mid and high ranges. We innovate to deliver a heart-stirring moment in the cabin,” says sound-meister Tomokazu Hikida.

MMNA will share more details about the 2025 Mitsubishi Outlander, including extensive feature updates and specifications, during the vehicle’s official North American debut in mid-February 2025.

Yamaha will continue to deliver high-quality Yamaha-branded automotive audio products through our ongoing partnership with Mitsubishi Motors.

Road safety tips: How to reduce the risk of a car accident

0

By Mitch Rice

Road safety has become a concern over the years with all the innovations in vehicle manufacturing, along with more aggressive traffic laws around the world. Traffic accidents remain one of the most common causes of injury and death globally, and are primarily caused by the human factor.

Sometimes a second of inattention is enough for an accident. Drivers can reduce the chances of causing accidents by engaging and understanding signs, recognizing potentially unfavorable situations. Knowing road safety laws and their daily application can protect all road users and reduce the rate of accidents on a daily basis.

Stay focused and avoid distractions

One of the primary causes of car accidents is not paying attention while driving. Activities that reduce attention while driving, such as texting, talking on the phone, eating or tuning the radio, can lead to delayed reaction times and impaired judgment. Drivers must keep their eyes on the road and hands on the steering wheel, looking straight ahead and following the road situation.

Even minor distractions can have serious consequences, as taking your eyes off the road for a few seconds at high speed can be fatal. If you stay focused, you can react quickly to sudden obstacles, situations, and interruptions in traffic flow and other unpredictable situations that can threaten overall safety.

Maintain a safe following distance

Keeping a safe driving distance gives drivers enough time to react if the vehicle in front stops or slows down without warning. Driving beyond a safe distance endangers all road users. The general rule of thumb is to follow the “three-second rule”, which means you are at least three seconds behind the vehicle in front under normal driving conditions.

All drivers must follow this rule. In adverse weather conditions or heavy traffic, it is advisable to increase this distance to allow additional stopping time. By maintaining a safe distance between vehicles, drivers provide themselves and others with enough space to maneuver the vehicle if necessary.

Adapt to weather and road conditions

Weather conditions directly affect road safety, because rain, snow, fog, and ice can significantly threaten the safety of road users and increase the cause of traffic accidents. Slippery roads can reduce traction and make it difficult to stop or control the vehicle. Drivers should control their speed and increase their distance between cars in conditions where they encounter adverse weather conditions.

Reduced visibility on the road during adverse weather conditions influences safety, which is why it is necessary to use headlights correctly and ensure that windshield wipers are working effectively. It is important to check everything before driving, prevention is the most important. In bad weather, avoiding driving altogether may be the safest option.

Avoid driving under the influence

Driving under the influence of alcohol or intoxicating substances is also one of the leading causes of serious traffic accidents. Even small amounts of alcohol affect reaction time, judgment, and coordination.

Medications, and their irresponsible use, can also impact the driver’s ability to drive safely. If alcohol consumption has occurred in certain situations, using a taxi or relying on ride-sharing services is the best and most responsible choice. For those taking medication, it is advisable to understand the potential side effects and consult with a healthcare professional before driving. It is best not to drive immediately after treatment.

Ensuring safety on the road requires being fully alert and unharmed before getting behind the wheel. If you or a loved one has been involved in an accident due to impaired driving, seeking legal guidance can be crucial. Find the right team of car accident lawyers that can provide support and help navigate the legal process after an accident.

Be alert and manage tiredness

Driving late, tired or drowsy is just as dangerous as driving under the influence of opiates. Fatigue reduces the driver’s concentration, reaction time and decision-making ability under different road conditions. Long journeys, night driving or insufficient rest time contribute to driver fatigue. In those situations, a passenger is mandatory for safety reasons.

Taking regular breaks during long journeys, sharing driving responsibilities and ensuring adequate rest before you set off can help prevent accidents. If you feel drowsy while driving, stopping at a safe location and taking a short break can be a life-saving decision that protects all road users.

Recognizing signs of fatigue, such as yawning, heavy eyelids or swerving between lanes, and acting accordingly can prevent potentially disastrous outcomes. Maintaining communication and dynamic music can help with low energy.

Obey speed limits and traffic laws

Speeding is a leading cause of traffic accidents, especially those with a fatal outcome. When driving beyond the speed limit, the driver’s ability to react in time to road hazards, unexpected situations and increases the seriousness of a possible collision is reduced.

Respecting the recommended speed limits in urban areas and on open roads cuts down the possibility of cat accidents. In addition to respecting the speed limit, drivers should also respect other traffic signals, foremost the stopping at red lights, passing drivers when giving way, and using turn signals correctly.

Regular vehicle maintenance

Clearly, a new vehicle is less likely to experience mechanical failures that could cause an accident on the road. Regular routine checks of brakes, tires, lights and engine components keep the car in optimal condition. Tire pressure and tread depth should be checked regularly, as underinflated or worn tires can cause blowouts and loss of control.

Braking systems need to function properly to guarantee effective stopping power. Ensuring that all lights and indicators are working properly is critical to visibility, especially at night or in poor weather. Regular servicing and early resolution of potential mechanical problems can prevent dangerous situations on the road.

Take care of other road users

Safe driving goes beyond personal responsibility, at all times you should be aware of other road users, not only vehicles but also pedestrians, cyclists and motorcyclists. Responsible driving, anticipating potential hazards and expecting the unexpected can reduce the risk of accidents. Checking blind spots before changing lanes, being cautious at intersections and yielding the right of way when necessary all contribute to safer interactions on the road.

Conclusion

Reducing the risk of a traffic accident requires, first of all, attention on the road, respect for traffic signs and the law. Staying focused, maintaining a safe distance, changing weather conditions and avoiding impaired driving are basic practices that directly affect road safety. Regular vehicle maintenance and stress management additionally contribute to accident prevention.

A commitment to safe driving not only reduces the likelihood of an accident, but also promotes a culture of responsibility and awareness that benefits everyone.

Sing for Hope, in collaboration with the He Gets Us project, is announcing the launch of the Sing for Hope Pianos New Orleans 2025 initiative, marking the fourth consecutive year Sing for Hope has returned to The Big Easy. This project brings ten vibrant, local artist-designed Sing for Hope Pianos to the heart of New Orleans’ Ninth Ward from February 4-20 in celebration of the cultural moment around the big game. Sing for Hope Board Member and New Orleans native Jon Batiste joins this collaborative effort to bring the joy of the arts to his hometown and inspire creative expression among all, with the ten Sing for Hope Pianos serving as a community invitation to the Feb. 8 He Gets Us Presents Jon Batiste’s Love Riot Festival.

Sing for Hope and He Gets Us enlisted New Orleans-based StudioBE, and the nonprofit Eternal Seeds, to explore the theme of “selfless love” in the design of the pianos. Artists were encouraged to explore this concept through their designs and spark conversations and connections within the community. Each Sing for Hope Piano will feature original artwork created by New Orleans-based visual artists, transforming these instruments into stunning works that reflect the spirit of selfless love and the city’s vibrant culture.

The Sing for Hope Pianos will be placed in their designated public locations throughout the 9th Ward on Feb. 4, ready to be played and enjoyed by all. On Feb. 8, the He Gets Us Presents Jon Batiste’s Love Riot Festival will take place nearby on the grounds of George Washington Carver High School from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. including a performance by Jon Batiste, a Sing for Hope Piano designed by a local artist, and other special guests. This community event will celebrate the power of art and music to bring people together and inspire progress. The Sing for Hope Pianos will remain in their public locations through Feb. 20, inviting everyone to play, listen, and enjoy the beauty of the arts. It’s what we need right now, what the world needs. And as a Sing for Hope board member, I love that we’re celebrating in my hometown of New Orleans!”

0

The global non-fungible token (NFT) market size is estimated to grow by USD 84.13 billion from 2025-2029, according to Technavio. The market is estimated to grow at a CAGR of  30.3%  during the forecast period. Increasing demand for digital art is driving market growth, with a trend towards growing interest in NFTs among major brands. However, uncertainty in NFTs poses a challenge. Key market players include AirNFTs Platform, Asynchronous Art Inc., Axie Infinity, Binance Holdings Ltd., Blockchain App Factory, Celer Network, Chaincella, Decentraland Foundation, Enjin Pte. Ltd., Foundation Labs Inc., Funko Inc., Gemini Trust Co. LLC, Mintable.app, Ozone Networks Inc., Out The Mud Ventures Inc., Rarible Inc., Sky Mavis, SuperRare Labs Inc., Tiki Labs Inc., and Yellowheart LLC.

Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs) have taken the art, athletes, and celebrities world by storm. These digital assets, represented by unique codes on a blockchain, bring scarcity and ownership to digital artworks, collectibles, and even virtual real estate. The gaming industry and media & entertainment sector have embraced NFTs, with Ethereum network leading the charge. NFTs allow for the tokenization of games, trading cards, and virtual items, creating new revenue streams for creators and investors. Augmented Reality (AR) and Extended Reality (XR) are set to revolutionize the NFT space, allowing consumers to experience digital property in new ways. The NFT community is growing, with online platforms providing distribution networks and smart contracts ensuring secure, decentralized transactions. However, regulatory considerations are crucial. Intellectual property rights, securities laws, and consumer protection are key areas of focus. Proof of work and proof of stake are the two main consensus mechanisms, with proof of stake becoming increasingly popular due to its energy efficiency. The NFT market is not without challenges. Fraud and regulatory uncertainty remain concerns. The White House has acknowledged the potential of NFTs, but a clear legal framework is needed. Taxation and logistics are also important considerations. Despite these challenges, the future of NFTs is bright. They represent a new frontier in decentralized finance, enabling the tokenization of physical assets like art, houses, and vehicles. As the NFT market matures, it will undoubtedly disrupt industries, from the art world to the sports collectibles market and beyond.

Big brands such as Visa Inc. And Budweiser are increasingly exploring the potential of Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs) as a new revenue stream. The appeal lies in the ability to offer unique digital assets as rewards to consumers. Brands like eBay Inc. And Amazon.com Inc., being digitally native, are also showing interest in this trend. The shift toward Web 3.0 and the growing number of e-commerce transactions are expected to fuel the adoption of NFTs, leading to an increase in market transactions and the expansion of the global NFT market.

Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs) have revolutionized the art, collectibles, and media & entertainment industries by enabling unique digital ownership. Artists, athletes, celebrities, and even regular users can create and sell digital artworks, collectibles, and virtual items as scarce, authentic, and valuable assets. Blockchain technology, such as Ethereum network, provides transparency, security, and immutability. However, challenges exist. Intellectual property rights, consumer protection, regulatory considerations, and securities laws need clearer frameworks. Fraud and third-party involvement are concerns. Logistics, taxation, and distribution networks require streamlining. Cryptocurrencies and NFTs’ integration with decentralized finance, gaming industry, and metaverse needs careful planning. Proof of work vs proof of stake, and the role of smart contracts, are ongoing debates. The NFT community, media, and entertainment industry, and even The White House, are exploring the potential of NFTs in areas like music, virtual real estate, and more. Ultimately, NFTs offer exciting opportunities, but addressing these challenges is crucial for their long-term success.

The Non-Fungible Token (NFT) market presents unique challenges for sellers due to the unpredictability of demand and pricing. The value of NFTs is influenced by factors such as scarcity, uniqueness, and buyer perception. For new sellers, it is difficult to anticipate the identity of potential buyers or the factors driving their purchases. As a result, NFT pricing is subject to fluctuation based on buyer perception. With the NFT market still in its early stages, it is challenging for new investors to forecast future trends in pricing. The uncertainty surrounding NFT valuation adds complexity to an already volatile market.

Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs) are unique digital collectibles, minted on the Blockchain with limited editions or rarity. Owners have exclusive rights to sell their NFT collectibles, and vendors offer online platforms for buying and selling. NFTs cannot be exchanged or copied without permission. The market’s growth is driven by the increasing demand for digital assets, with industries going digital and the ubiquity of the Internet. Tokenization, which creates digital tokens representing ownership, further fuels growth. Key features include royalty payments to NFT owners and prevention of unauthorized use. These factors are expected to drive the NFT market’s expansion.

The Non-Fungible Token (NFT) market is revolutionizing the way we buy, sell, and own digital assets. This innovative technology allows for the unique representation and ownership of digital artworks, gaming items, and other electronic assets on the blockchain. The gaming industry has embraced NFTs, enabling tokenization of in-game items and creating new revenue streams. NFTs are built on decentralized networks like Ethereum, utilizing blockchain technology and cryptocurrencies for secure transactions. The legal framework surrounding NFTs is still evolving, but ownership is verified through the blockchain, ensuring scarcity and authenticity. NFTs can also be experienced in Augmented Reality (AR), Virtual Reality (VR), and Extended Reality (XR) environments, adding new dimensions to digital property. However, the market is not without challenges, including potential fraud and the need for distribution networks. Major players include NFT vendors and suppliers, who facilitate the buying and selling of these unique tokens. The Metaverse and Decentralized Finance (DeFi) are also key areas of growth for NFTs, offering new opportunities for creators and investors alike. Magic Eden is an example of a popular NFT marketplace, providing a platform for buying, selling, and discovering new NFTs.

The Non-Fungible Token (NFT) market is a revolutionary digital ecosystem where Art, artists, Athletes, and various industries intersect. This decentralized platform, built on blockchain technology, enables the creation, ownership, and trading of unique Digital Assets. These assets can range from Digital Artworks and Collectibles to Virtual Real Estate and Virtual Items, including Painting, Music, Vehicle, and even House. NFTs leverage blockchain’s transparency and security, providing proof of ownership and scarcity for Digital Property. The Ethereum network is a popular choice for NFT creation due to its smart contract capabilities. Augmented Reality (AR) and Extended Reality (XR) enhance the NFT experience, allowing users to interact with their Digital Assets in new ways. The NFT marketplace caters to various industries, including the gaming industry, media & entertainment, and the sports world. Investors, celebrities, and consumers are drawn to this space due to its potential for Decentralized Finance, Intellectual Property ownership, and Tokenization of Games. However, the NFT market also faces challenges, such as Regulatory Considerations, Fraud, and Legal Frameworks. Securities laws, Taxation, and Consumer Protection are crucial aspects that need to be addressed. The NFT community, Online Platforms, and Third Parties play significant roles in shaping the future of this burgeoning market. The NFT market extends beyond the digital realm, influencing the Physical Assets sector and even reaching The White House. As the market continues to evolve, it will impact various industries, from Cryptocurrencies and Cryptocurrencies/assets to the Music, Video games, and Sports Collectibles industries. The NFT market’s potential is vast, offering a new way to distribute, trade, and experience Digital Assets in the Metaverse and beyond.

Jon Batiste’s Love Riot Festival Brings Music, Community, and Service to New Orleans’ 9th Ward During Big Game Weekend

He Gets Us Presents Jon Batiste’s Love Riot Festival is coming to the Desire Area of New Orleans’ 9th Ward on Saturday, Feb. 8. A festival experience of music, love, hope, and action. The big game weekend event that also celebrates giving back features a concert from Batiste — the Kenner, Louisiana, native and 2025 Super Bowl LIX National Anthem performer. Batiste will also be joined by local artists and surprise guests to be announced closer to the festival day.

New Orleans community members can reserve tickets at no cost beginning Tuesday, Feb. 4 at 2 p.m. CST by visiting loveriotfestival.com or jonbatiste.com.

“I am grateful to lead my first festival and couldn’t be happier to collaborate with He Gets Us. Being of service by bringing love, light and healing through music is something I am called to do. At its core that is what the Love Riot Festival is all about. Radical love, celebration and cultural expression through music making and community service. Get ready to dance in the streets and sing to the heavens!”

New Orleans artist Brandan “BMIKE” Odums — a high school classmate of Batiste’s — created the festival artwork and collaborated with He Gets Us, Batiste, and Sing for Hope to lead 10 New Orleans-based visual artists in the design of hand-painted pianos placed in the 9th Ward to invite the community to the festival and celebrate a vibrant expression of the city’s culture. The pianos will find permanent homes in local schools and community centers after the festival.

As the event wraps, Batiste will lead one of his signature Love Riots through the festival grounds, accompanied by the 9th Ward’s own Nine Times Social Aid & Pleasure Club.

The He Gets Us project — which was acquired by the nonprofit startup Come Near in 2024 — will have a commercial in this year’s big game titled “What is Greatness?”, inviting the audience to explore what Jesus showed and said greatness is and the contrast to how culture defines greatness today. This is the third year He Gets Us has a presence in the big game to raise the public conversation about Jesus.

“In a society struggling with division, loneliness, and a crisis of meaning, Jesus’ life and teachings offer a countercultural path toward healing,” said Ken Calwell, CEO at Come Near. “We’ve been challenged and inspired by how Jesus said greatness is defined not by our achievements, wealth, or power, but by how we love and serve others, and we wanted to invite people to experience that alongside Jon Batiste in New Orleans.”

HE GETS US PRESENTS JON BATISTE’S LOVE RIOT FESTIVAL

All ticketed festival attendees can access festival food free of charge thanks to the service and support of community partners. Groups and organizations partnered in the Saturday, Feb. 8, festival include:

  • Eternal Seeds
  • George Washington Carver High School
  • Giving Hope Foundation
  • Nine Times Social Aid & Pleasure Club
  • Sing for Hope
  • Sprout
  • Thrive New Orleans

Jon Batiste could play any stage or party in New Orleans, and for the big game, he and He Gets Us chose to bring an act of love to the 9th Ward. That validates the work being done by so many to cross divides, recognize the worth in others, and change perceptions about the 9th,” said Troy Duhon, co-founder and president of Giving Hope Foundation.

He Gets Us Presents Jon Batiste’s Love Riot Festival will be hosted on the grounds of George Washington Carver High School and near the site of a future home sports field planned to serve 9th Ward high schools and middle schools.

“One of the most beautiful things you can show a community is progress. The 9th Ward is a place that so many of us are proud to have grown up and feel called to come back to serve and work to make great for each generation after us,” said Dwana Caliste, athletic director and teacher at George Washington Carver High School and youth director at Thrive 9th Ward. “True greatness is lifting other people up.”
