Young Nudy Announces Headline Tour Kicking Off This December

0

Today, breakout ATL rapper Young Nudy announced a limited run of tour dates taking place this December. Produced by Live Nation, the tour kicks off on Wednesday, December 4 in Charlotte, NC at The Fillmore, with additional stops in Raleigh, Indianapolis, Nashville, and Houston. Special guest Babydrill will join Young Nudy on all dates.

Tickets will be available starting with an artist presale beginning Thursday, October 31 at 10am local time. Additional presales will run throughout the week ahead of the general onsale beginning Friday, November 1 at 10am local time at livenation.com.

This tour is on the heels of his latest single and video “John Wayne” featuring Metro Boomin and his most recent critically acclaimed album and one of his most popular projects to-date, Gumbo, which received glowing reviews from fans and critics such as Rolling Stone, Pitchfork, Stereogum, XXL Magazine, and more. Gumbo is Nudy’s highest debuting album in his career and features his most mainstream, successful single “Peaches & Eggplants” featuring 21 Savage. After reaching the top spot on the US Hot 50 TikTok charts last July, the song peaked at #49 on the Billboard Hot 100, his first song to make this chart. Nudy is currently gearing up for a new album coming soon.

Born and raised in the heart of East Atlanta, breakout rapper Young Nudy has mastered his approach to rapping; he displays a variety of styles in his rap approach by blending a laid-back, but raw delivery with energetic flows. He first garnered massive attention with his 2016 mixtape Slimeball and following the success of that, he continued to release musically diverse projects including Slimeball 2 in 2017 featuring guest appearances from Juicy J and Peso in addition to his Nudyland mixtape released that same year which included production from Richie Souf and Pi’erre Bourne, and had features from Offset and Lil Yachty. In the mix of all that, Nudy’s major collaboration with his cousin 21 Savage on “Since When” also became a massive success. He continued his success with Slimeball 3 later that year and the critically acclaimed full-length collaboration with Bourne, Sli’merre, in 2019. Additionally, his mixtape Faded in the Booth was well-received for its more laid-back vibe.

In early 2020, Nudy came out with the mixtape Anyways. The project featured unique production and unconventional instrumentals that complemented the rapper’s energetic performances and darker lyrics. Nudy continued to explore different sounds in 2021 with his second studio album, Dr. EV4L. This record had a sinister, horrorcore vibe and featured collaborations with artists like Lil Uzi Vert, 21 Savage, and G Herbo, focusing on eerie instrumentals and intense lyrical themes. Shortly after that release, Nudy dropped his third studio album, Rich Shooter, in August 2021. This album debuted in the Billboard 200 charts and moved away from horrorcore and embraced more experimental approaches while still maintaining a commercial appeal. With guest appearances from Future, 21 Lil Harold, Peewee Longway, and others, the album showcased Young Nudy exploring various styles. In 2022, he released his mixtape EA Monster, which also entered the Billboard 200 chart for Nudy and showcased a polished sound with futuristic synth elements and showcased Nudy’s improved rapping skills.

Young Nudy’s latest critically acclaimed album and one of his most popular projects to-date, Gumbo, was released in February 2023 and received glowing reviews from fans and critics such as Rolling Stone, Pitchfork, Stereogum, XXL Magazine, and more. Gumbo took a different musical direction with minimal beats and production reminiscent of late-2000s hip-hop. All the tracks on the album were named after food, and it included guest appearances from Key Glock and 21 Savage. Gumbo is Nudy’s highest debuting album in his career and features his most mainstream, successful single “Peaches & Eggplants” featuring 21 Savage. After reaching the top spot on the US Hot 50 TikTok charts last July, the song peaked at #49 on the Billboard Hot 100, his first song to make this chart, and has accumulated 3.1 billion short form video views. “Peaches and Eggplants” has amassed over 271 million streams worldwide and has garnered over 76 million views on its music video. It also got a remix featuring Latto and Sexxy Red.

With the release of the single and video “John Wayne” featuring Metro Boomin this year, Nudy is gearing up for a new album coming soon.

Traveling Wilburys Unveil Newly Restored 4K Version of “End of the Line” Music Video

0

Craft Recordings and Traveling Wilburys are thrilled to unveil the newly restored 4K version of the iconic music video for “End of the Line.” Fans can now enjoy this timeless classic with breathtaking visual detail, thanks to meticulous restoration work from the original rushes, bringing new life to this unforgettable collaboration.

The Traveling Wilburys, the legendary supergroup featuring George Harrison, Bob Dylan, Tom Petty, Roy Orbison, and Jeff Lynne, formed in the late 1980s and quickly captivated audiences with their unique blend of artistry and camaraderie. Their debut album, Traveling Wilburys Vol. 1, became a critical and commercial triumph, cementing their place in music history.

Now, over 35 years later, and as the year winds down and the holiday season fosters togetherness, this spirit of unity is perfectly captured in the music video for “End of the Line.” Filmed in Los Angeles in December 1988, the video features the group performing on a moving passenger car pulled by a steam locomotive. It also serves as a poignant tribute to Roy Orbison, who passed away shortly before the shoot. A touching homage to Orbison includes his guitar resting in a rocking chair alongside a framed photo, ensuring his presence remains central to the song’s legacy.

Rick Wakeman Adds 2025 Dates To His The Final Solo Tour

0

Last year, the ultimate keyboard wizard, Rick Wakeman CBE, announced that his 2024 tours of solo piano concerts would be his last. Rick, who has become almost as well-known for his intimate piano shows as his prog rock extravaganzas, had decided that after a career spanning over 50 years, he would be calling a halt to lengthy American one-man show tours, in order to concentrate on composing, recording and collaborating with other musicians.

However, after receiving an offer to take part in the latest of the highly popular Cruise To The Edge, he couldn’t resist adding more dates to include some of the venues he couldn’t fit into his schedule in 2024.

Audiences can expect an evening of highlights from his career with YES and his solo work, including the new 30-minute instrumental work Yessonata, featuring YES themes and melodies, woven into sonata form, which he wrote especially for the Final Solo Tour.

Rick first started establishing a reputation as one of rock’s most original and proficient keyboard players in the late Sixties, when he worked with the likes of David Bowie, Cat Stevens, Marc Bolan, Lou Reed, Al Stewart, Elton John and other artists too numerous to mention, as a much-in-demand session player. He stepped out of the recording studio and into the limelight when he first joined the Strawbs and then YES, helping to make the latter the most successful progressive rock band in the world by contributing to seminal albums such as Fragile and Close To The Edge.

But outside of YES, Rick was really able to unleash his creativity with a series of groundbreaking concept albums: The Six Wives of Henry VIII, Journey to the Centre of the Earth, and The Myths and Legends of King Arthur and theKnights of the Round Table, which have been performed in large-scale shows featuring bands, orchestras and choirs.

However, he is equally at home as a solo artist in the upclose environment of concert halls, performing music on a piano – both his own and tunes that have a special resonance for him – and recounting wickedly funny stories taken from the length of his career. In recent years, he has added a rack of electric keyboards to ring the changes and enable him to enlarge his live solo repertoire.

Don’t miss this final opportunity to enjoy an evening of great music and hilarious stories, delivered by one of the truly legendary figures of rock music.

“I always planned to stop touring by my 77th birthday – for those of you who wish to send me a card, it’s 18th May! – but there is so much to fit in before then that I’m having to make plans now and so my final one-man shows will have to cease by that date,” says Rick.

“I have thoroughly enjoyed performing the various one-man shows, but it’s time to call it a day. I intend to throw in the best of what I have done in the past, plus a few new surprises on the way, and possibly even the odd guest joining me on the odd occasion.

“The plan is not to perform at the same venue twice throughout this period, so whatever venue you are hopefully thinking of coming to, it will be the last performance there – and I am taking this opportunity of thanking everyone and anyone who has supported me over the last 53 years!”
