Megan Thee Stallion Makes Historic Broadway Debut in ‘Moulin Rouge! The Musical’

Grammy-winning superstar Megan Thee Stallion is heading to Broadway this spring for a limited eight-week run in Moulin Rouge! The Musical at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre. From March 24 through May 17, Megan will take on the role of Harold Zidler, the charismatic impresario at the heart of the Parisian nightclub spectacle. With the casting, she becomes the first female-identifying performer to play Zidler in the global stage history of the production, based on Baz Luhrmann’s 2001 film.

The announcement arrives as the Tony Award-winning musical prepares to close its Broadway run in July after seven years at the Hirschfeld. Megan described the opportunity as both an honor and a creative stretch, noting that Broadway demands a new level of discipline and storytelling. She shared excitement about embracing the challenge and revealing a new side of herself to fans.

Producer Carmen Pavlovic called the casting a milestone moment and part of the show’s closing celebrations, adding that audiences can expect subtle nods to Megan’s own music during the engagement. With one of music’s most influential voices stepping into a theatrical spotlight, this limited run promises to be a standout chapter in the production’s final months.
