C.Y.M. ring in the new year with “Live from Heavy Duty,” a four-part live performance series now available on YouTube featuring original songs “Never Let Me Go,” “Roma,” and “Life of Mine” with Day Wave, plus a cover of Pink Floyd’s “Set the Controls for the Heart of the Sun.” The series showcases C.Y.M., comprised of Chris Baio and Michael Greene, joined by Garrett Ray on drums with a special appearance from Day Wave on “Life of Mine,” captured at Heavy Duty Studios in Burbank last summer with intimate, psychedelic ’70s vibes. Baio says, “Last summer, Mike made the long trip from St. Ives England to Los Angeles to perform a studio session of songs from our debut album. At Heavy Duty Studios in Burbank, we were joined by Garrett Ray on drums and played three songs from our album, including ‘Life of Mine’ with Day Wave. We also covered Pink Floyd’s ‘Set the Controls for the Heart of the Sun,’ a song that occupies a fascinating place in Pink Floyd’s discography. It is the only Pink Floyd recording that all five primary members played on, and was further immortalized by LCD Soundsystem’s ‘All My Friends.'” Director and editor Tom Mull spliced together skateboarding footage of his family for “Roma,” adding a personal visual element to the performance.
The duo prepares for two exclusive live performances at Pop Up Du Label in Paris on February 9th, 2026 and Moth Club in London on February 10th, 2026, featuring Baio, Greene, Robby Sinclair on drums, and special guest appearances. C.Y.M. has released their self-titled debut album, performed on Jimmy Kimmel Live, experienced Baio’s debut appearance on Bravo’s Watch What Happens Live, and earned recognition among NPR’s “Best New Music.” The Arts St. Louis called the album “an exceptionally strong album” noting “a nice sonic consistency even as the pair explores disparate genres alongside widely varying collaborators,” while FLOOD praised the duo as “nearly boundless when it comes to genre influence, with their unique blend of sound.”
