Sophie Turner Steps Into Lara Croft Role As Prime Video’s Tomb Raider Series Begins Production

Amazon MGM Studios launched production on the Prime Video series Tomb Raider with a first-look image of Sophie Turner as Lara Croft. The series adapts the video game franchise that has followed the world-famous archaeologist and adventurer through decades of gaming history. Turner leads a cast that includes Sigourney Weaver, Jason Isaacs, Martin Bobb-Semple, Jack Bannon, John Heffernan, Bill Paterson, Paterson Joseph, Sasha Luss, Juliette Motamed, Celia Imrie, and August Wittgenstein.

Phoebe Waller-Bridge created and wrote the series while serving as executive producer and co-showrunner alongside Chad Hodge. Jonathan Van Tulleken directs and executive produces the project. Amazon MGM Studios, Crystal Dynamics, Wells Street Films, Story Kitchen, and Legendary Television produce the series. Turner’s transformation into the iconic adventurer marks an exciting new chapter for a character who has captivated audiences across multiple platforms since the original game launched.
