Francis Rossi opens 2026 with purpose and volume, releasing two brand-new tracks as a digital double single ahead of his new studio album ‘The Accidental,’ out January 30. The songs, “Push Comes To Shove” and “November Again,” showcase Rossi energized, direct, and fully engaged with the sound that made him a cornerstone of British rock.
“Push Comes To Shove” hits with grit, momentum, and Rossi’s instantly recognizable guitar attack, while “November Again” channels reflection into a soaring, melodic chorus. Together, the tracks highlight contrast and confidence, pairing drive with emotional weight in a way that feels natural and unforced.
‘The Accidental’ emerged from spontaneous studio sessions with guitarist Hiran Ilangantilike and co-producer Andy Brook. That openness shapes the album’s character, giving the songs an immediate, alive quality built on instinct rather than expectation.
Alongside previously released tracks “Something In The Air (Stormy Weather)” and “Go Man Go,” the new songs define the album’s tone with clarity and intent. The response around the material highlights strong melodies, forward guitars, and a sense of freedom running through every performance.
“For anyone who liked any of my solo albums previously,” Rossi says, “I’ve no idea what you’ll make of this one because it’s a real departure, but I love it. It’s loud, the guitars are right to the fore, and there are some great songs there.” ‘The Accidental’ captures Francis Rossi operating at full strength, sharp, melodic, and unmistakably himself.
