Chameleons Launch North American Tour For Celebrated Comeback Album ‘Arctic Moon’

Manchester post-punk icons Chameleons officially announce their 2026 North American tour following the immense critical success of their latest studio effort ‘Arctic Moon’. This tour represents a landmark moment for the group as they support their first full-length studio album in over twenty-four years. The journey begins on April 7 at the Varsity Theater in Minneapolis and moves through major markets including Chicago, Toronto, and New York City. The Veldt will join the lineup as the opening act for all scheduled dates. Entry is available when tickets go on sale Friday, January 23 at 10am local time.

The new record ‘Arctic Moon’ has earned significant praise from major publications for its emotional depth and musical maturity. Reviews highlight the band’s ability to recapture their original magic while incorporating a fresh and expansive sonic palette. Listeners describe the new material as a breathtaking celebration of cultural resonance and rhythmic precision. The tracklist includes the powerful single “Saviours Are A Dangerous Thing” and the slow-burning epic “David Bowie Takes My Hand”. Singer and bassist Mark Burgess notes that the songwriting reflects a positive step forward for the current lineup.

Chameleons continue to be cited as a primary influence for generations of alternative artists from Oasis to Interpol. Their live performances remain the stuff of legend, characterized by shimmering guitars and nimble basslines that define the post-punk era. The current band features founding members Burgess and Reg Smithies alongside Stephen Rice, Danny Ashberry, and Todd Demma. This tour follows a career renaissance that saw the group releasing two critically hailed EPs in 2024. These upcoming shows provide the first opportunity for North American fans to hear the new songs performed live alongside classic hits.

The tour route covers twenty-two cities before concluding on May 2 at Numbers in Houston. Stops along the way include historic venues such as The Stone Pony in Asbury Park and Radio City Music Hall in New York. The band remains rooted in the gnarled angst and integrity that first made them a cult favorite in Manchester four decades ago. Each night promises a high-energy set that bridges the gap between their 1980s legacy and 21st-century relevance.
