Jawdropped have a record deal, a new video, and a UK tour. The Los Angeles power pop outfit have signed to Transgressive Records and Canvasback, and they’re marking the moment with “Monday,” a fuzzy, immediately likeable blast of grungy pop paired with a one-shot video directed by Rob Fraebel.

The band describes the song with the kind of self-aware directness that defines their whole approach. “Monday is about treading the waters of anticipation, but deciding to face your feelings head on,” they say. “The truth will set you free, even if it’s just the Sunday scaries.”

Formed in 2024, Jawdropped wasted no time building a live résumé, supporting Real Estate, Bully, Greg Freeman, and Momma before their debut EP ‘Just Fantasy’ started generating genuine word-of-mouth buzz across the US. Stereogum praised their “upbeat anthems packed with tongue-in-cheek cynicism.” FLOOD called out their “breezy pop-rock sound.” Both got it right.

Their reference points, The Lemonheads and Swearin’, tell you everything about the register they’re working in. Earnest and immediate, sung with a smirk and fingers crossed behind the back. Anchored in friendship and committed to the sing-along, Jawdropped make grungy power pop that doesn’t overthink itself.

This spring the band makes their UK debut with headline shows and festival appearances, including The Great Escape and Dot to Dot, before heading back stateside for a Denver date in July.
