Triple-Threat Ana Pac Brings The “Good Vibes” With New Single

0

When you take the bold step of naming a song “Good Vibes”, you must live up to that title. The multi-talented singer, dancer and actor Ana Pac does that and more with her new single, a positively perfect banger released just in time for summer.

“Good Vibes” continues Ana’s focus of writing and performing songs focused on positivity and acceptance. Her previous singles, “Down in My Whip”, “This is….” and “Blast Off (Light Years and Beyond)” were inspirational messages that encouraged listeners to pay attention to their inner voices, to have the courage to follow their dreams despite the obstacles and nay-sayers.

With its bouncy dance pop beat, “Good Vibes” kicks the inspiration up to an entirely new level. It’s all about attitude, about making the choice to create your own sunshine.

“Every day when you wake up, it’s another chance to choose to shine,” Ana sings on the new song. “Feel the sun on your face, even if it’s only in your mind.”

Ana Pac exudes confidence and kindness. She wants people to embrace who they are with love and joy. The former highly competitive speed skater believes in living life to its limits and celebrating the wins, throwing herself a parade for her successes. And she believes in giving thanks for those successes, too.

“It’s up to you, yeah baby, what’s your attitude?” she asks in “Good Vibes”. “If you live like you’re living, give the universe some gratitude.”

And in the chorus, Ana encourages others to share their positive attitude.

“Come on and give me some good vibes, good vibes, show me you believe in all of the magic, tell me everything, all of your passion.”

The proudly open member of the LGBTQ2S+ community now makes Toronto her home. Her triple threat status also applies to her communications skills – she’s trilingual, fluent in English, French and Spanish.

Her talents as both a dancer and an actor have won her roles in film and television. You can see Ana performing in the Netflix original films Work It, produced by Alicia Keys, and Feel the Beat, starring Sofia Carson. You might have even seen her smiling face in a milk commercial.

Already a social media influencer, Ana’s star continues to rise on Tik Tok, where her @ana_pac account has 117,800 followers. Check out her tap dance videos to music from Disney films as well as songs from One Direction, Meghan Trainor and more, some of which have received over a million views.

Ana playfully animated lyric video for “Blast Off (Light Years Away)” has over 35,000 views. Equally as popular on her channel is her video for her 2022 single “Bite the Rainbow”, a celebration of all the colours of the rainbow that represent the LGBTQ2S+ community. Ana’s many fans are certainly awaiting a video for her upbeat new single!

With the release of “Good Vibes”, and its accompanying remixes produced by Nate Sprague and Keys Snow, Ana Pac is poised for a big breakthrough in 2023. You’re sure to be feeling the “Good Vibes” all summer long.

Multi-Award Winning Bluesman André Bisson Plays The Soul Protector With “Shake”

0

Just like our closest loved ones, music is a dedicated companion. It will always be there for us as a savior, a confidant and a provider of solace and comfort. Multi-honoured Canadian blues singer-songwriter and guitarist André Bisson knows this truth as well as anyone and built his latest release around that premise of providing safe harbour. “Shake”, the soulful lead single from Bisson’s forthcoming 10th album, is available now.

André Bisson certainly puts the ‘pro’ in prolific as he prepares to release his 10th album of original material since 2009, “Latchford”, later this year. That’s 10 albums over a span of just 14 years! Leading the charge of singles ahead of the new full-length collection, “Shake” sets the groove around some gutsy subject matter for the Hamilton-based, Bruce Mines, Ontario-born artist.

“Shake” is about protecting the ones we love from the emotional dangers of the outside world,” explains Bisson. “The title refers to when we see our loved ones in such a state of fear and turmoil that they physically cannot stop shaking.”

With its energetic, chugging guitar groove, heavenly sweet strings and Memphis-style horn section, “Shake” has a mile-wide grin that belies but also helps deliver the song’s strong emotional message.

When you shake, let me wrap my arms around you
And I promise that I’ll never let go
When you shake, I’m here to calm the fire
Melt the worry and soothe your soul

When the song’s groove-setting guitar and piano intro lifts into an interplay of strings and horns, that’s everyone’s cue to hit the button, put the top down and set sail down a sun-dappled highway, propelled by the happy sounds that surround a pretty serious storyline.

“The instrumentation is intentionally used to help create the sound of happiness, optimism, and joy by creating layers of sound (horns, violins, and backing vocals) to wrap around the listener to give an added sense of protection,” notes Bisson.

Fresh from winning the 2022 Blues & Roots Radio International Song of the Year Contest and recently being nominated for the 2023 Creator Award for the Hamilton Arts Awards, Bisson is obviously turning more and more of the heads he’s worked very hard to reach throughout his very busy, 20-plus-year career. He confidently and joyfully leads a band that can range in size from 6 to 20 members and has toured Canada, the US, the UK and Europe to many sold out audiences and acclaim.

However, when it comes to songwriting and arranging, Bisson is largely DIY. Once again with his upcoming album “Latchford”, Bisson has written and arranged all eleven songs, which all follow a more philosophical and broad-minded thread than your typical bunch of blues songs.

“The one-word description for the new album is perspective,” offers the five-time Hamilton Arts Awards nominee. “Sometimes it’s not about changing the situation but how we view it.”

With this new collection, Bisson is admirably mining deeper blues and the lead single “Shake” ties right into that overall theme of ‘perspective’. “Realizing that we are not alone and have people who are there for us,” he notes. “The situation may not change but our perspective of it does, which in turn, alters our reality of the situation.”

It’s rhythm and blues for the thinking man and woman who also love to groove.

As with his previous albums including 2022’s “The Ballad of Lucy Stone”, Bisson is the sole songwriter, arranger and producer for “Latchford” but, when it comes to interpreting the tunes and playing most of the wide variety of instruments that bring them to life, it took a talented village. Bisson sings all lead vocals, plays all the electric and acoustic guitars, as well as some percussion and harmonica on the new album but, joining him are Jesse O’Brien on piano and organ, Mike Rowell on bass guitar, Keagan Early on drums, Pat Carey on tenor and bari saxophone, Shawn Moody on trumpet/flugelhorn, Loretta Hale on trumpet and cello, Rob Somerville on trombone, Paul Barna on violin/viola, Quisha Wint and Selena Evangeline on backing vocals and Dan Rodrigues on additional piano. The new album was recorded at Mississauga’s Metalworks Studios with engineering and mixing by Wayne Cochrane Sound and mastering by Chris Crerar Mastering.

Overall, André Bisson says that his forthcoming album is about “holding ourselves accountable for our own destiny” and that’s also a personal credo that continues to carry him to new heights in his artistry.

Modern Rockers Crashing Wayward Release Video For “Closer”; Full Album Listen!’ Out June 9

0

Coming off the musically powerful and evocative single “Breathe,” Las Vegas-based modern rock band CRASHING WAYWARD—vocalist Peter Summit, guitarists Stacey David Blades and David Harris, bassist Carl Raether, and drummer Shon McKee— share the music video for their new single “Closer”. Powered by Summit’s striking voice, multiple guitar textures and gripping fast-paced rhythm, the song “speaks to relationships—specifically unhealthy, addictive romantic relationships,” explains Summit. “It focuses on the obsession someone might have and also to the awareness that this might not be the right place for that person.”

“Closer” is one of many highlights on the band’s debut album LISTEN! that’s due out June 9 on the RFK Media label. The 11-track album was produced by heavy hitter Mike Gillies, whose credits include a long tenure with Metallica as well as studio work with Mötley Crüe and The Cult. Lyrically poetic and musically illuminating, CRASHING WAYWARD paints a landscape that stretches beyond alternative hard rock and explores the diverse influences of each of its band members,

“There are four strong songwriters with all different types of influences, so this creates a unique sound,” says Blades. “From a guitar standpoint, David Harris plays a lot in open tunings which gives the riffs a very different vibe along with my mainly Drop D tuning. When you put the guitar parts together, they are very different. Added to that is Carl Raether’s powerful bass lines plus Shon McKee’s fantastic drumming—and with Pete’s distinctive vocals and melody lines, you get Crashing Wayward.”

The band came together in the Spring of 2020, just when the world seemed to come to a halt. In that stillness, the band grew restless, feverishly writing emotionally fueled songs of hope, inclusion, and escape. The music on LISTEN! represents a cathartic release raw in approach yet refined in tone.

Says Summit about the striking album cover, an image of a woman with her mouth shut and masking tape across it: “The album art was taken during the ‘Breathe’ photo session, although the concept of ‘No one will be silenced’ has been used in various high-profile projects such as the ‘NOH8’ silent campaign in 2008, which showed celebrities in protest of the ‘Proposition 8’ banning of same-sex marriage. The intention is to focus on the power in her eyes. ‘See us. Hear us!’ We felt that the title LISTEN! was powerful in portraying both the album’s cover and the lyrics throughout the album. LISTEN! speaks directly to life itself touching on topics of Intolerance, Mental Health, Suicide, Love, Peace, Loss and Political Unrest.”

CRASHING WAYWARD’s official introductory single “Breathe,” was released in December 2022 and achieved international recognition via Apple Music’s “Breaking Hard Rock” and “New in Rock” playlists, YouTube’s “Heavy Gauge” playlist, and a barrage of media interviews and radio play resulting in #1 status on radio stations in the U.S. and Canada.
CRASHING WAYWARD genuinely pour their soul, blood, sweat, tears, and hearts into their songs and live shows. Equally primordial and intellectual, their music embodies the fundamental hypnotic quality of rock music and makes them the band to watch in 2023 and beyond. The album will be available worldwide on CD and all digital/streaming platforms, with the vinyl edition to follow later this summer. Pre-order LISTEN! now at https://rfkmediashop.com/products/crashing-wayward-l-i-s-t-e-n.
The band recently performed a record release show for LISTEN! at the Viper Room in West Hollywood and will next be seen presenting a very special event merging music, art and more at The Industrial in Las Vegas on July 14 at which they will headline (more details TBA).

Allison Russell Announces New Album “The Returner” And Shares New Video For Title Track

0

Four time GRAMMY-nominated singer, songwriter, poet, activist, and multi-instrumentalist Allison Russell has announced her new album, The Returner. The record will be released on September 8th, 2023 via Fantasy Records. Today, she has shared the title-track from the album. The Returner was written and co-produced by Allison along with dim star (her partner JT Nero and Drew Lindsay) and was recorded over Solstice week in December 2022 at Henson Recording Studios in Los Angeles, CA. It features Russell’s “Rainbow Coalition” band of all female musicians along with special guest appearances from the legendary Wendy & Lisa, Brandi Carlile, Brandy Clark, and Hozier.

Allison Russell on The Returner: “My goal with The Returner – sonically, poetically, and spiritually – is a radical reclamation of the present tense, a real time union of body, mind, and soul. This album is a much deeper articulation of rhythm, groove, and syncopation. Groove as it heralds the self back into the body, groove as it celebrates sensual and sexual agency and flowering, groove as an urgent call to action and political activism.

“In just a word, it’s funkier. But as is the history of anything funky, it’s never just a party. It is a multiverse of energies that merges the celebration and the battle cry. For while an embrace of the present tense is a celebration, it is equally an unquestioning leap into battle – cultural, political, environmental.”

Since the release of her debut solo LP two years ago Outside Child, Russell’s often devastating, deeply moving, cathartic celebration of survivor’s joy has become one of the most acclaimed albums of the past 10 years. Now comes the second chapter in herstory, The Returner, a body-shaking, mind-expanding, soulful expression of liberation, love, and self-respect that serves as a fierce declaration of joy for all survivors that have made it to the other side. Allison, JT, and Drew built The Returner from the bottom up with a rhythm-first, genre-fluid approach. The improvisational energy of great female artists sparked the album’s fierce joy, and provided a wider canvas for Allison’s immense, unlimited talent. In all, the new album doesn’t just deliver on the promise of the last two years, it exceeds all reasonable (and unreasonable) expectations and affirms Allison Russell’s place among music’s most vital artists⎯and The Returner, as one of 2023’s most essential recordings.

Allison Russell has spent her career in multiple bands, including Po’ Girl, Our Native Daughters, and Birds of Chicago. After a career spent as a gifted multi-instrumentalist, backing numerous other artists, she finally dared to release her solo project in 2021. “It’s an album of strength and affirmation, not victimization,” said The New York Times in their profile on Russell and Outside Child. Following the album’s release, Russell performed on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Ellen, Late Night With Stephen Colbert, CBS Saturday Morning, Austin City Limits, The Kelly Clarkson Show made her Opry debut and appeared at the Country Music Hall of Fame and performed at the 2022 GRAMMY’s Premiere Ceremony.

The accolades for Russell have been immense. In addition to her four GRAMMY nominations, she has earned three 2022 Americana Award nominations and a win for Album of the Year, two International Folk Music Award wins, a 2022 JUNO Award nomination for ‘Songwriter of the Year,’ and her first-ever JUNO Award win for Contemporary Roots Album of the Year. Russell received two 2021 Americana Awards nominations, won three Canadian Folk Music Awards, two UK Americana Music Awards, and more. She was recently nominated for Song of the Year and Artist of the Year for the 2023 Americana Awards. In addition, Russell has consistently used her newfound platform to elevate, educate and inspire; curating the history making Once And Future Sounds: Roots and Revolution set for the Newport Folk Festival in 2021 and mobilizing this year’s triumphant Love Rising All-Star benefit concert in support of LGBTQIA+ causes in Nashville – raising over $550,000 and calling national attention to Tennessee’s dangerous anti/trans and anti/drag laws. Russell has also announced a book deal with Flatiron/MacMillan for her debut novel, a memoir based on her life and the material that inspired Outside Child and The Returner.

Allison Russell will be on tour throughout the summer and fall in support of The Returner including two nights next week spent at The Gorge Amphitheatre supporting Joni Mitchell’s performance. She was also a part of the band for Mitchell’s historic Newport Folk Festival 2022 return. Other highlights include Black Deer Festival, Farm Aid, Glastonbury, Bristol Rhythm & Roots Festival, WXPN’s XPoNential Festival and a UK tour in support of Hozier. Full Tour Dates are listed below.

Following the highly successful Northeast/Midwest run in May that included multiple sold-out performances, City and Colour will hit the West Coast and Southern states in late August and September. Features and positive coverage ran in a wide range of US outlets, such as Alternative Press, New York Magazine, American Songwriter, No Depression, Relix, Magnet and much more, including a story at Rolling Stone.

The Love Still Held Me Near was born out of the most difficult period in Green’s life, including the tragic loss of his best friend in 2019. Green explains, “It’s about digging deep down into yourself and attempting to unearth hope and light in the things that can comfort you through those times. For me that has always been writing and recording music, so that’s exactly what I did.” The depth of Green’s emotions are thoughtfully articulated through these songs in ways that make them so relatable. He continues to solidify the connection with his audience on his seventh album. When you experience a City and Colour performance, that feeling is palpable as fans sing along through the set, including the new songs.

Green and director Michael Maxxis created a full visual album of 12 cinematic videos representing each song on The Love Still Held Me Near. View all 12 videos HERE.

Halsey And Suga Of BTS Join Forces For “Lilith (Diablo IV Anthem)”

0

Today, GRAMMY-nominated, multi-platinum, genre-bending artist Halsey and SUGA of 21st century pop icons BTS unleashed the official music video for “Lilith (Diablo IV Anthem)” in collaboration with Blizzard Entertainment’s Diablo IV. Directed by Henry Hobson, the video was shot in multiple locations including inside Chapelle des Jésuites (Jesuits’ Chapel) in Cambrai, France, where Blizzard had filled the ceiling with paintings and a 160-foot mural inspired by the game.

Like the High Heavens and Burning Hells, Halsey needed a counterpart to accompany them on the fiery track and help tame their commanding power. Cue SUGA, a longtime collaborator and friend, who makes his way through the haze and effortlessly spits bars at the halfway mark.

“I’m thrilled that I got to collab with SUGA of BTS on a reimagined version of “Lilith” for the Diablo IV anthem! Having spent countless hours in Sanctuary with my family, I’m here as both a fan and a collaborator,” said Halsey. “Plus, I’ve always wanted to do a concept with SUGA with this type of dark mythology, Hopefully, fans of Diablo, SUGA and myself will love Lilith’s embrace.”

“Working with Halsey on a track for the Diablo universe has been an incredible joy. I hope the track resonates with many people worldwide,” said SUGA.

“This anthem for Diablo IV is a beautiful culmination of Halsey and SUGA’s passion for the world of Diablo and what it represents,” said Rod Fergusson, General Manager of Diablo at Blizzard Entertainment. “Their re-interpretation of Halsey’s ‘Lilith’ from all angles – as a sound, as a piece of art, as a narrative – takes you right into the desperate world of Sanctuary and the resolute spirit it takes to fight your demons, whatever form they may take.”

The first 20 seconds of the music video premiered at the epic Diablo IV launch event at Vibiana in Downtown Los Angeles on May 31. All hell broke loose as attendees, including fellow Diablo IV collaborators like Gottmik (RuPaul’s Drag Race) and special guests Offset (Rapper), Tinashe (Singer), David Harbour (Actor, Stranger Things), Khleo Thomas (Actor and Gamer), and others danced the night away to a DJ set by Zedd while themed visuals were cast on the walls inside the landmark cathedral.

Diablo IV is available to pre-purchase starting at $69.99 on Windows PC, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation5, PlayStation4. Deluxe packages are also available for each digital download that include additional armor, seasonal battle passes, and more. Find out more details on pricing and availability here.
