Why You’ll Want to Use Scent Diffusers in Your Car

0

Smells are all around us every day, but most of the time, we may not realize what an impact they may have on our lives and how we feel during the day.  Scent diffusers are used by many today to add beautiful smells to homes and to help with a variety of issues that the aroma from the diffuser can provide assistance with. Aromatherapy can be used for just about anything and can provide help for anxiety, stress, and a lot more. Now, it’s possible to use these in the vehicle and use aromatherapy for a variety of on-the-go benefits, like the following.

Reduce Traffic Anxiety

Traffic anxiety has a number of causes, including the following:

  • Too Much Traffic
  • Bad Drivers
  • Running Late
  • Getting Lost

No matter what the issue is, the right smells can help reduce the anxiety felt by drivers and make sure they have the calm feeling they need to reach their destination safely and stress-free.

Stay Alert During the Drive

It can be hard to stay alert during the drive, especially if you’ve just had a long day at work or you have a long commute to and from the office. However, failing to be alert at all times can be incredibly dangerous and is one of the top causes of accidents. Instead, using a scent diffuser for your car can help you remain more alert during the drive, so you reach the destination safely.

Reduce Anxiety From Work

Whether you’re worried about the day ahead on the way to work or you’re trying to relieve the stress of work on the way home, scent diffusers can help you feel a lot better right away. The right scent can reset your mood, helping you feel stress-free and relieved. It’s a good idea to have a calming or stress-reducing scent on hand, so it can be added to your diffuser as soon as you’re in the car.

Breathe in Fresher Air

When cars are used a lot, they can start to smell. Whether it’s the gym clothes that have been sitting in the backseat for a few days, the smells from the traffic, or the kids on the way home from a muddy soccer practice, the right scents in a diffuser can help freshen the air, so you enjoy the drive. A variety of scents are available that can overpower the smells of the car, so you can breathe free.

Scents can play an important part in your life, and the time spent in your vehicle is no different. Scents can make a big difference in how you feel and what you’re breathing when you’re driving. Whether you’re worried about work, have anxiety about being late, or just want to breathe fresher air, pick out the scents you love and start using them in a car diffuser today. The right scents will make all of the difference, and you’ll be able to get the above benefits and more whenever you’re driving in the car.

Video: 1960s drug use propaganda film on glue sniffing

Glue is big trouble in a small tube, according to this PSA from the 1960. “It’s just a small inoffensive tube not even as big as a tube of toothpaste or shaving cream but as small as it is, this little tube is filled with big trouble. When used for their intended purpose, these so-called model cements are a great boon to the household and model building for young people but they’re a dangerous commodity when used improperly.” Sure, you might think no reasonable person would sniff glue, but we also had a generation of kids eating Tide pods, so…

The Chemical Brothers release new track ‘The Darkness That You Fear’

0

The Chemical Brothers have released their first new music since 2019’s No Geography – a record described by Q as having “the dizzying, adaptive plasticity of their best work” and “vividly melodic, restlessly inventive” by Uncut.

Built around two distinct and disparate vocal samples and a woozy swirl of psychedelic sound, The Darkness That You Fear is the sonic equivalent of light at the end of the tunnel – a rush of hope and a pointer towards a brighter, more open future.

The Chemical Brothers’ Tom Rowlands: “The Darkness That You Fear is a hopeful piece of music. When we found the combination of the different voices worked set to the flow of the music it made us feel optimistic, like it was something we wanted to share.”

A wildly hallucinogenic and beautifully evocative video for the track has been made by Ruffmercy, the Bristol-based director who has previously worked with artists such as Thom Yorke, Run The Jewels, and DJ Shadow.

Ruffmercy on The Darkness That You Fear: “When I first heard the song I immediately connected with the theme and the overall positive vibe. New government rules for relaxing lockdown had been announced and combined with the sun shining, it left me feeling positive about the forthcoming summer. It also triggered a strong sense of nostalgia that led to me going back to look for visual inspiration from the period in time when I first discovered The Chemical Brothers in the mid ’90’s. The video combines archive rave footage from the mid to late 90’s with hand painted Super 8 film textures and hand drawn animation. I love using colour to create chaos and evoke emotions and this was the perfect project to do that.”

The sleeve for The Darkness That You Fear is from an artwork by the revered British abstract artist, the late Sir Terry Frost. A limited 12” of The Darkness That You Fear will be released as part of Record Store Day 2021, for the first drop on, June 12th.

The Darkness That You Fear is the first Chemical Brothers release since the No Geography track Eve of Destruction was released to coincide with their huge autumn 2019 tour that culminated in a sold out show at London’s O2 Arena. The Chemical Brothers (along with longtime visual collaborators Smith and Lyall) also created the closing installation for ‘Electronic – From Kraftwerk to The Chemical Brothers’ – the most popular exhibition London’s Design Museum has ever held.

The Chemical Brothers have been confirmed as Friday night headliners at this year’s Creamfields festival in Daresbury, Cheshire (27th August – the event has already sold out) and Sunday night headliners at TRNSMT in Glasgow on September 12th.

Sparks Immortalized In Not One, But Two Films

0

Sparks – dubbed “the best British group ever to come out of America” – have been immortalized in not one, but two movies.

Brothers Ron and Russell Mael formed Sparks in 1967 in Los Angeles. Since then they have pursued a unique creative path which has made them among the most significant figures in left-field pop, influencing artists including Joy Division, Depeche Mode, Duran Duran, The Smiths, and Franz Ferdinand.

They feature as the subject of The Sparks Brothers a documentary directed by Edgar Wright (Shaun Of The Dead, Baby Driver) and including fans such as Steve Jones of The Sex Pistols and Flea of the Red Hot Chili Peppers, which is due to be released this summer.

Meanwhile, it has been announced that Annette, a new movie directed by Leos Carax (Les Amants du Pont Neuf, Holy Motors) and written by Ron and Russell Mael has been selected to open this year’s Cannes Film Festival on July 6.

The story, based on an original story by the Mael brothers, focuses on a provocative stand-up comedian (Adam Driver) and his opera star wife (Marion Cotillard), whose life takes an unexpected turn when their daughter Annette is born.

BMG released the two most recent Sparks albums, Hippopotamus (1917) and A Steady Drip, Drip, Drip (2020) and also acts as the Maels’ music publisher.

“From Cradle to Stage” Created by Dave Grohl and Virginia Hanlon Grohl Set To Air May 6

Paramount+, the streaming service from ViacomCBS, announce its new original unscripted television series, FROM CRADLE TO STAGE, will premiere Thursday, May 6. Directed by Dave Grohl and inspired by his mother, Virginia Hanlon Grohl, and her critically-acclaimed book, From Cradle to Stage: Stories from the Mothers Who Rocked and Raised Rock Stars, the Live Nation Productions series is a dynamic personal exploration of the special relationship between successful musicians and their moms. The six-part series will debut exclusively on Paramount+.

Honest, humorous and emotional, each episode features a famous performer and their mother, alongside Dave and Virginia, as they take an impassioned journey home and explore each artists’ upbringing and the tools they received as a young talent to survive the turbulence of success.

Episode roll-out includes:
· May 6: Dan Reynolds (of Imagine Dragons) and Christene Reynolds
· May 13: Pharrell and Dr. Carolyn Williams
· May 20: Miranda and Bev Lambert
· May 27: Brandi and Teresa Carlile
· June 3: Tom Morello (of Rage Against the Machine) and Mary Morello
· June 10: Geddy Lee (of Rush) and Mary Weinrib

“I believe that the relationship between a musician and their mother is so important because it’s the foundation of their understanding of love, which is surely every artist’s greatest muse,” shared Grohl. “Having the opportunity to travel the country and tell the stories of these amazing women behind the curtain not only shed some light on the music that they inspired, but also made me appreciate the love that I was given from my own mother, my best friend. It goes without saying that we are all indebted to the women who have given us life. For without them, there would be no music.”

“We are thrilled to partner with Dave, Virginia, Live Nation, Silva Artist Management and Endeavor Content to deliver this amazing series to our Paramount+ audience exclusively,” said Bruce Gillmer, ViacomCBS President of Music, Music Talent, Programming & Events. “This series, based on Virginia Grohl’s acclaimed book, offers a rare look at the intimate and inspiring moments between some of the world’s biggest performers and their moms – just in time for Mother’s Day.”

From Live Nation Productions, in association with Endeavor Content, FROM CRADLE TO STAGE is executive produced by Dave Grohl and Virginia Hanlon Grohl, Doug Pray (“The Defiant Ones”), John Ramsay (“Sonic Highways”), Michael Rapino, Heather Parry, Ryan Kroft, and Damian Vaca.

“Live Nation is proud to collaborate with Virginia and Dave on this moving tribute featuring great talent and the women who raised them,” said Rapino, CEO of Live Nation. “We have the privilege of working with these incredible artists to bring their music to the stage and now Live Nation Productions has the honor of bringing their stories to the screen.”

FROM CRADLE TO STAGE is the newest addition to the previously announced Paramount+ music slate, which includes some of the most influential and storied music franchises, including “Behind the Music,” “Unplugged,” and “Yo! MTV Raps.”

You’re A Dog!, released in 2019, featured the breakout singles “Guy” and “Shawty” that introduced her colorful funk-pop authenticity that fans quickly latched onto. Wolf soon released her sophomore EP I’m Allergic To Dogs! in June 2020. The single was also included in a mash-up with “Hello Hello Hello,” for Wolf’s memorable debut TV performance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. “Hello Hello Hello” received a remix from Polo & Pan that was used in Apple’s global ad campaign for the iPhone 12 and Snapchat’s international commercial for its new Sound feature. “Monte Carlo,” a standalone and standout single following the EP, was featured in the worldwide commerical for Samsung’s Galaxy Buds earphone. “Photo ID” recently received a rework from Dominic Fike, joining an extensive catalog of successful remixes that led to the release of the We Love Dogs!
