Life Gets Strange, Indeed — New EP from Phoenixville, PA Singer/Songwriter CLIFF HILLIS is Available Now

Life Gets Strange is the newest six-song EP by indie pop singer-songwriter, Cliff Hillis. This happy and uplifting EP is available on streaming services Spotify and Soundcloud, with the first single “Let’s Pretend” on YouTube.

“This is the fourth EP I’ve released, I decided it’s a much easier format to digest in such a short attention-span world, and it allows me to get music out quicker than recording a full album at a time,” says Hillis about the format of this EP. “I had to get fairly creative with social distanced recording. A number of the drum tracks were recorded in my garage (which, as it turns out, sound good!)

“My friend and bandmate in The Orchestra, Louis Clark Jr., recorded cello for the song ‘Seven Sisters’ in his UK flat and sent me digital tracks, long-time bandmate and co-producer, Greg Maragos sent numerous files he recorded at home, and we spent some Zoom sessions discussing the tracks and mixes, as well as countless emails and texts,” Hillis added about the process.

All songs on Life Gets Strange were written by Cliff Hillis except “Let’s Pretend” (written with Rhett Miller – Old 97’s), “Good Problems” (written with Kelley Ryan), and “Seven Sisters” (written with Kevin J. Killen). The EP was produced by Cliff Hillis and Greg Maragos, and was recorded and mixed by Cliff Hillis at The Hacienda. Additional recording by Greg Maragos at GPM Studios and Ritchie Rubini at Studio 825. It was mastered by Steve Turnidge at UltraViolet Studios, Seattle, WA.

Cliff Hillis is an award-winning songwriter, singer and producer. Hillis has a solid reputation as a highly sought-after multi-instrumentalist, vocalist, and studio whiz. His previous releases have been praised by USA Today and The LA Times.

Howard Stern and SiriusXM today announced a new agreement under which the legendary broadcaster will continue to produce and host The Howard Stern Show exclusively for SiriusXM for the next five years, and the Howard Stern archive of audio and video will continue to be licensed to SiriusXM for an additional seven years. The news was first reported by Stern live during his show this morning.

Howard Stern has never been bigger. Regularly recognized as the best interviewer in the business, Howard’s insightful and revealing celebrity interviews gained even more acclaim since broadcasting from home under the Covid quarantine, bringing A-level comedians, musicians and actors via virtual connections into his home and he into theirs. His edgy comedy is sharper and more timely than ever. And his relationship with SiriusXM is at its strongest, as SiriusXM has grown to be the largest audio entertainment company in North America.

Gwen Stefani Releases New Single “Let Me Reintroduce Myself”

Global superstar Gwen Stefani releases her new reggae-tinged single “Let Me Reintroduce Myself” today. With the release, Stefani is featured on New Music Daily on Apple Music. “Let Me Reintroduce Myself” is available now at all digital retailers.

Stefani will debut the single with a performance on tonight’s episode of The Voice, airing at 8 pm ET/7 pm CT, where she is now in her fifth season as a coach on NBC’s four-time Emmy Award-winning musical competition series.

Recorded in quarantine and co-written with relentless hitmaker Ross Golan alongside rising songwriter/producer Luke Niccoli, the single finds Stefani reminding fans of what she does best: create vibrant, uplifting music that is real and honest to who she is as an artist.

“This song is a way of saying I’m back with new music. It’s a fun, lighthearted song, because I got inspired and hopefully to bring a little bit of joy. The idea was to write a song that had a bit of a nostalgic feeling to it, so I think musically it reminds you of back in the day, going back to where I started musically which was with ska and reggae. I’m still the same me but here’s something a little bit new in case you feel like hearing a little bit more of me,” says Stefani.

Musically, “Let Me Reintroduce Myself” is a full-circle moment, with an instrumental that nods to her roots with the ska-punk band No Doubt. Bass-heavy beats and breezy acoustic guitars course under and around her laid-back vocals, as Stefani confidently asserts her space in the modern musical universe: “In case you forgot—no, I’m not records on your shelf.” The single also offers a sly callback: “I already gave you bananas,” she sings playfully, nodding to the cheerleader chant on her 2005 Pharrell Wiilliams-produced No. 1 hit, “Hollaback Girl.”

“Let Me Reintroduce Myself” caps off a busy year for Stefani. She had two top 10 hits on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart with fiancé Blake Shelton, “Nobody But You” and “Happy Anywhere.” And her holiday album, You Make It Feel Like Christmas, was just reissued with two new songs, including Ryan Tedder co-write “Here This Christmas.”

A three-time GRAMMY Award winner, Stefani, has achieved global success as, among other accomplishments, a performer, songwriter, frontwoman for ska-punk heroes No Doubt, and multi-platinum solo artist. To date, she’s sold more than 50 million units worldwide. Her 2015 solo album, This Is What the Truth Feels Like, debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200. Award-winning Canadian soprano, singer/songwriter, and author Tonia Evans Cianciulli has released a poignant and beautiful song for the holiday season in this, “Christmas Time This Year” — available now.

“Christmas 2020 will be a challenging one for the entire world,” Cianciulli considers. “If we can’t be with our families in person, I pray we can be together in spirit and music.

“With that in mind, I hope this song will weave its way through your heart.”

“Christmas Time This Year” is the latest creation from the multi-faceted artist, and lands ahead of her forthcoming album set for release this Spring, 2021.

Currently based in both Toronto and Miami, the new release of all-original music will highlight matters of the heart while further heralding her heart’s true home of Newfoundland. To that, “Christmas Time This Year” enjoys two versions of its lyrics, with alternate words fitting for other locations.

“Even though I’m completing an album for a springtime release, I felt moved to write and release this song for Christmas,” she shares of the song and its especially meaningful lyrics. “I co-wrote these lyrics with my dear friend Vaughn Harbin; I wanted to mark what will be and is a very different time for everyone.”

With both the song and video recorded and produced by multi-talented artist Dima Graziani, additional accompaniments were provided by guitarist Jesse Fegelman and cellist Erika Nielsen; Fegelmen wrote the guitar and cello arrangements.

Post Malone has also had a stellar year, wrapping it up with 3 Grammy nods, including nominations for Album, Record, and Song of the year, and he’ll be celebrating in style at OSHEAGA! The hip-pop trap-rap crossover rockstar is always full of surprises, and as anyone who saw his online tribute to Nirvana this year can attest, Post Malone is an extremely talented performer who is as comfortable singing his signature hooks as he is letting it all out and owning the crowd with riffs galore! If his legendary 2018 performance at the festival or his sold-out Bell Centre show in Feb 2020 are any indication, his set at OSHEAGA 2021 will be a runaway hit!

SiriusXM and the family of Bob Marley announced today an exclusive year-round channel dedicated to the legacy of Bob Marley.

Bob Marley’s Tuff Gong Radio will launch on December 3rd on SiriusXM channel 19 and will feature the cultural icon’s entire music catalog, both live and recorded, including rare recordings, some of which have never been made available to the public.

The channel, to be curated by the Marley family, will include a wide range of Caribbean music from its inception to present day. Bob Marley’s Tuff Gong Radio will also highlight the branches of his still-growing musical legacy including The Wailers, I-Threes, Tuff Gong International, the record label founded by Marley in the 70’s, and his children and grandchildren as they continue to make their own impact on reggae and popular music.

Additionally, the new channel will present specialty programs and take-overs led by family members from three generations. Bob’s daughter, award-winning entertainer, fashion designer and author Cedella Marley, will host her own monthly radio series, “Nice Time”, inviting listeners into her world for an ‘upful bit’ of conversation, music and niceness. Friends and family members also reflect on the 40th anniversary of the release of Bob Marley’s classic ballad “Redemption Song” and its continued impact on the world. The TD Toronto Jazz Festival is pleased to announce Bachman + Bachman, a specially curated performance by Canadian icon Randy Bachman and his son, Tal Bachman. Bachman + Bachman, presented by Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG), world premieres on December 17, 2020 (7pm) on JAZZ.FM91 and streams simultaneously on Youtube and Facebook. This special concert, created specifically for the Festival, features the legendary singer in an intimate and acoustic setting performing some of the well-known jazz standards that helped to inspire his signature sound. Throughout this up close and personal evening, Randy, along with his son Tal, will tell stories about some of his most iconic songs and perform a setlist that includes a mix of jazz standards, selections from the incredible catalogues of The Guess Who and Bachman-Turner Overdrive (BTO) and two surprises with songs from artists who had number one hits in the USA. Four local acts will round out the evening as we celebrate the music of an icon whose influence reaches across genres and spans generations. Each will perform their interpretation of a Bachman song.

Rich in the tradition of the blues with a family legacy that runs deep, Brooke Blackburn’s guitar style uniquely translates to his audiences in a very bonding and human way every time he plays. The Heavyweights Brass Band have built a reputation as Canada’s reigning champions of feel-good horn music with one foot firmly planted in the tradition of jazz while the other foot steps forward into the future. Armed with a jazz-fueled voice and deft songcraft with old-time banjo-picking skills, Kaia Kater has quickly established herself as a star in the making with critical acclaim from NPR, CBC Radio, Rolling Stone and BBC Music. Genevieve Marentette is a staple on the Toronto jazz scene, known for her fearless live approach to song interpretation and diverse recordings and collaborations.

All performances have been pre-recorded and the evening is generously presented by OLG along with TD, Inniskillin, Toronto Star and Celebrate Ontario, Ministry of Heritage, Sport, Tourism and Culture Industries.
