In these trying, confusing times, music is a healer — of the mind, the spirit and sensibilities, and that’s exactly why five-time GRAMMY winner Steven Curtis Chapman enlisted his friends Brad Paisley, Lauren Alaina and Tasha Cobbs Leonard to release Together (We’ll Get Through This).

3 Reasons To Use Music In Education Process
Music is not only a manifestation of talent and cultural heritage, but also a source of human emotions. It is not surprising that music in its various genres is capable of exerting a tremendous influence on our intellect, body, and soul. So why is music education important?
- The importance of music
Scientists have found that the following factors influence a person:
– the sounds of certain musical instruments,
– traditional tunes,
– modern directions,
– the psychological mood of a person,
– works of certain authors,
– a specific genre of music.
- Music for study and concentration: how to choose the right one?
Each of us has songs that make the heart beat faster, and the smile expands exponentially. So scientists noticed that the playlist of your favorite tracks is a great benefit during the study. Research at the University of Miami concluded that stress leads to hasty decisions by a person, significantly reducing their area of attention. Most often you start to get nervous when something doesn`t work out for you. Your attention and thoughts are scattered in such a condition. If you find yourself in this situation while writing an essay, then take a break and browse through https://samplius.com/, where you can find many sample essays on various topics that will give you confidence. This fact, as well as your favorite tunes, will help to improve your mood, which broadens your horizons and increases the number of solutions to the problem.
For the effective study, a student needs focus and high productivity. And melodies helps us with this. The main thing is to choose the right tunes. Scientists at Birmingham University have proven the effectiveness and benefits of music in performing monotonous activities. Filling in tables, checking emails, looking for essay examples for your studies, working with formulas and any other boring actions can be performed faster with music.
- Performing complex tasks
If a person performs complex intellectual or creative work, competent selection of melodies is important, and not just its presence. Here are some examples of music that can help you learn better when your brain and body resists.
– Sounds of nature
Researchers at the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute saw an increase in performance among people who studied at open spaces, which reproduced the sounds of wildlife Like white noise, the sounds of nature mask extraneous sounds (hum, human speech, traffic noise) that distract a person so much. In addition, they improve concentration and cognitive function.
– Neutral music
Different people perceive the environment differently. And there are those who are distracted by listening to their favorite song, completely leaving it. Taiwan University conducted research, during which it established that the maximum and minimum attractive melody leads to a decrease in the concentration of attention for some people. If you are one of those to whom the familiar melodies are very distracting, try to choose melodies for the study that you are indifferent to.
– Instrumental melodies
Studies conducted by Cambridge Sound Management have shown that it is not the noise as a whole that leads to the decline in performance, but the words (both separately and as part of the music).
Hearing human speech in the classroom, our brain automatically switches from the current task, trying to identify the topic of conversation. This is our nature, which is not worth fighting.
– Baroque music
The pace of melodies in many ways affects the state of a person. This is confirmed by Canadian studies, during which they saw better results among those who took IQ paper tests to dynamic music, and in particular to the music of the Baroque era.
Scientists from the University of Philadelphia and the Baltimore Hospital, as well as the Malaysian College of Engineering, have confirmed its effectivness. Moreover, as a result of its use, a significant reduction in stress was revealed. The subjects noted the presence of signs of relaxation while listening to melodies, the pace of which corresponded to 60 beats per minute.
Conclusion:
Despite the fact that music has a beneficial effect on our productivity, there are times when listening to music is undesirable: for example, you need to remember a fairly large amount of information. Or you have a task that you must immerse yourself in completely. Then it is better to study the issue in silence.
Only “Cool Feet” Here: Saint John, NB’s Alt.Folk KYLIE FOX Releases More Than A Typical Love Song
Alt.folk Saint John, NB’s Kylie Fox is sharing what was initially penned as a heartfelt wedding gift with this, the release of her new single “Cool Feet” — available now!
“I wanted to write a song for my friend’s wedding,” Fox shares of the track’s origins. “I didn’t want to write ‘just another’ love song, I wanted to write their love song.
“I called the groom and gave him an interview,” she continues. “I was seeking some strange, obscure sentimentality in his answers, and I got it: he’s a fisherman, so I asked ‘when you are tired and uncomfortable at work, what do you miss about my friend?’
“He said ‘her cold feet.’
“So… I set out to write a song about my friend’s feet, but changed his answer to ‘cool’ because,” she laughs, quite rightly pointing out, “you shouldn’t sing about ‘cold feet’ at a wedding.”
It would be hard to sum Fox’s unique brand of song-based storytelling up with any other anecdote; “Cool Feet” is a fitting example of her sentimental soft-spot effortless intertwining with quick wit, signature sarcasm, and inherent empathy.
The second available off her forthcoming LP, Green, “Cool Feet” sets the tone for what’s to come following her 2017 breakout EP, BalconyEP. The results teem with unmistakable genuineness and endearing charm, traits that have earned Fox an attentive audience coast to coast, and features on CBC, charting on earshot!, festival stage spots, and more.
“I recorded with Dale in his remote Nova Scotian farm house,” Fox recalls of laying Green with East Coast Music Award-winning producer Dale Murray. “I would drive over from Saint John and stay for a night or two at a time throughout the summer to work on it.
“Dale’s wife (and fellow ECMA-winning artist) Christina Martin is an insane cook. I would relish in the opportunity to ask them about bizarre touring stories and professional advice while we shared meals and a bottle of wine at the end of a work day. Christina even bought fireworks for the session drummer’s birthday…
“The process was a dream.”
“Cool Feet” is available now.
Bruce Cockburn Announces ‘True North – A 50th Anniversary Box Set’
To be active and relevant in music for 50 years is a significant achievement for any individual recording artist. The same can be said for any independent record label. To achieve this milestone together as an artist and label team without interruption, has to be one of the most extraordinarily rare events in music.
To celebrate this milestone, Bruce Cockburn and True North Records have produced True North – A 50th Anniversary Box Set, a Limited Edition vinyl box set containing three of Bruce’s most significant recordings. You can pre=order it here. The first album where it all started, the self-titled debut Bruce Cockburn along with two albums that have never before been released on vinyl; The Charity of Night and Breakfast in New Orleans, Dinner in Timbuktu. Each album has been re-mastered by Bruce’s long-time producer Colin Linden, and is pressed on coloured vinyl. The five-180 gram discs are contained in original artwork sleeves adapted from the original designs by the acclaimed graphic designer Michael Wrycraft, and housed in an individually numbered box signed personally by the artist. There will be only a limited initial pressing.
Bruce Cockburn was the first artist signed to True North Records, the tenacious independent label founded by Bruce’s manager Bernie Finkelstein and first operated from a Yorkville Avenue phone booth. Bruce’s debut self titled album was the label’s first album release on April 7, 1970, produced by Eugene Martynec, with the catalog number TN1. Fifty years on, Bruce Cockburn still records for True North Records, which released his 34th album “Crowing Ignites” in late 2019.
Bruce says, “In 1969, when I was feeling the need to record an album of the songs I’d been writing, I had no concept of what that might lead to. In some organic way it felt like it was time. The future wasn’t really an issue. It still isn’t. For each of us, there’s a future or there isn’t.
“But looking back over the arc of 50 years of recording, performing, and travel, not to mention relationships and personal challenges,” he continued, “I can only shake my head and mutter a word of thanks for all of it.”
Cockburn concluded: “Even if I’d been a planner by nature, I doubt I could have predicted how things have gone… and they’re still going!”
Cockburn has also scheduled fall tour dates celebrating the 50th Anniversary Additional updates and ticket information can be found through the official Bruce Cockburn website and the complete list of tour dates is below.
Although Mr. Finkelstein sold True North Records to entrepreneurs Geoff Kulawick, Harvey Glatt and Michael Pilon in 2007, True North continues to be a vital independent label signing and releasing records by Bruce alongside many of Canada’s leading singer-songwriters and musicians including Buffy Sainte-Marie, Murray McLauchlan, Matt Andersen, Colin James, Sass Jordan, Sue Foley, Natalie MacMaster and Jimmy Rankin.

How Online Casinos Are Setting Themselves Apart From One Another
The casino industry has been riding the wave of technology for ages. From telegraphing racetrack results in the late 19th century to modern-day (online) scratch cards, the casino business has truly come a long way. Today, there is a new driving force when it comes to the casino industry: the internet. Online casinos have thrived in a cutthroat market, enticing millions of players from all over the world to play their games. Indeed, the industry has been doing so well that it is now easily competing with (sometimes even surpassing) brick-and-mortar casinos. But why has this industry boomed so much in the last couple of years? Well, read on to know how online casinos are setting themselves apart!
Accessibility Is Key

Fast and furious is the name of the game, and nothing irritates players more than delays. Gaming thrives on instant gratification — which is why online casinos have to optimize their games to provide maximum accessibility and efficiency.
This may have been a lesson they learned from modern video games, as there’s nothing worse than being stuck on a loading screen and delaying your gaming experience. Indeed, one of the biggest factors that have set online casinos apart is their near-instant access, allowing players to game anywhere and at any time. Compare this to the effort and cost of having to visit a brick-and-mortar casino — especially if you plan on flying out to the various casino capitals of the world such as Las Vegas and Macau – and it is a no-contest in terms of money saved.
Keep Customers Coming Back

All types of casinos value their players and do everything they can to get them to return. Online casinos make an effort to not only attract players, but also keep those players coming back regularly their site. They do this by creating unique experiences that help them capture their market. This isn’t new at all, as Vegas had done something similar with their star-studded list of headlining artists. Indeed, legends such as Elton John and Celine Dion have all had stints in Vegas as a way to drive large audiences to visit casino venues.
While online casinos can’t get singers to perform on their sites, they’ve found another way to attract players through increasingly large prizes. This has led to online sites using different methods to attract players including getting celebrities to endorse their websites. Ben Affleck recently helped organize a celebrity online poker tournament for Americas Cardroom, where he and a group of other celebrities played a game for charity. While this brings awareness to online platforms it doesn’t engage the public in an active way. This is why a more effective way online casinos have gotten a larger share of the market is through bonuses and prizes. Gala Spins outlines how slot games such as Mega Moolah have awarded as much as €18.9 million ($20.6 million) through bonus rounds to attract players. Indeed, huge prizes are an effective way to keep players engaged and active, and increase the chance of return visits. This makes sense, as people who are new to online casinos may do prior research before they pick a site. Unsurprisingly players would prefer a site with large prize pools. This has been so effective that it could even convert players from other sites, encouraging many online casinos to perpetually outdo each other.
Great Designs

Lastly, what really sets online casinos apart is their willingness to adapt to the times. This can range from the themes of their slots and other games to curating the entire user experience based on modern design principles. This is something that not all brick-and-mortar casinos have accepted, as everything from the architecture of the spaces to the games themselves all feel rather dated compared to the current market for these online games.
While you’ll still see traditional casino games on online sites, they’ve made it a point to continuously add new content so that players never get tired of the games they have on their platform. This can range from changing the iconography on their games to match a popular movie franchise or to introduce a new game mode entirely. As more people use their phones and laptops as their primary source of entertainment, the tighter the grip of online casino gaming on the gaming industry will be.
