Norwegian Music Festivals to look forward to in 2020

0

Norway is one of the most interesting countries. It is attractive for many reasons. First of all there are the polar nights, which is a fairytale story for almost everyone who has at least once seen the Santa Claus movie or watched any Disney cartoons.

Norway is one of the top destinations for people who definitely would like to know what the happiness of citizens and the peaceful country looks like. It has thus attracted many people from all across the globe and that’s for a reason. There are many fascinating facts that would make you want to save some money and book your ticket straight away. There are some of the majors, which are doubtlessly worth your attention.

The Nobel Peace Prize goes to Oslo

You most probably know that Switzerland is the only country that managed to keep the neutral side during World Worlds II, but did you know that Norway also remained neutral during World War I? This definitely tells something about the country and the position it occupies.

The Norwegian capital, Oslo has also been the proud venue of the Nobel Peace Prize ceremony every year ever since 1901. There were some expectations of course, but this is not the point. The other Nobel prizes in Chemistry, literature, physics, and psychology, as well as medicine, are awarded in Stockholm, Sweden.

The story behind Norway being the annual host of the Nobel Peace Prize Awards is unknown, though one thing is for sure that this was due to the desire of Alfred Nobel, the Swedish chemist. He was the one to invest his wealth to create the awards just before his death. Also, Norway is very proud of hosting such a global event, no one really knows why the famous chemist made his choice on Oslo.

Wealthy Residents of Norway

Norway occupies one of the leading positions in the list of the Happiest countries in the world. It is true that Norwegian people feel happy about their lives as they have everything to enjoy. Moreover taking into consideration the fact that every Norwegian has three figures taken from their annual tax return such as their annual income, income tax paid, and total wealth, is public for the observation, the country has nothing to hide, but opposite to show off.

The Norwegian people are very actively involved in social life. One of the main reasons is of course that they can afford it. But, anyways. It is not every country that can boast with the extremely happy people living there. People are involved in many different social activities.

Longest Road Tunnel

Have you heard of the phrase, “the light by the end of the tunnel”, this should be addressing the world’s longest tunnel, which is located in Norway. The tunnel is 15 miles, which is almost 25 kilometers long. The total cost of the tunnel construction was 1 billion Norwegian kroner, which is $113 million. The tunnel is mainly used to connect the small communities of Laerdal and Aurland.

The tunnel is one of the most famous sightseeings in Norway. It is featured in many cartoons, movies, documentaries, and even games. The most popular is the Laerdal themed games. According to the Nye Casino Ninja website, some of the leading online casino game developers offer customers tunnel themed slot games. Those provide a clear background picture of the tunnel and even present some of the nicest features of the surroundings.

Music Breaks Free

Not only the sightseeings is the major reason for visiting the country, but also the variety of festivals, especially music festivals. Norway might not have Berghain or Tomorrowland, but it has a lot of music festivals that will definitely fit your taste.

One of the most popular and beloved music festivals takes place on a small island, near Helgeland. The festival has been held in that location ever since 2003. Initially, the Traena Festival was a local festival, though has evolved through the period and has become one of the most popular international festivals.

Traena was named as one of Europe’s best secret festivals by Guardian and major Norwegian and international act annually, dominating the line-up. The Traena Festival will take place in Traena from the 9th until the 11th of July this year.

The very extraordinary thing about the festival is that it takes place on an island with inhabitants of less than 500 people, and is quite far from the mainland. Though, you can see the power of good music, great PR and marketing campaigns and of course the euphory of the beauty of nature, through the popularity of the festival itself.

Festivals

The variety of festivals in Norway is determined by the variety of artists from the Nordic countries and perfect spots capable of hosting the open-air festivals and many people.

Some of the major events taking place in Norway this year are the following.

By: Larm

By: Larm is one of the open-air music festivals that offer you spending your weekend in a very qualitative atmosphere with a lot of good music, great people and of course visuals. The music festival takes place in Oslo, Norway and combines the industry conference with showcase music. The main focus of the festival remains on presenting artists that are on the verge of success mixed with daytime seminars, lecture, and debates. This is called the mixture of pleasant and necessary. The festival takes place in winter, from the 27th to the 19th of February.

Palmesus

Norway is ready to present the largest outdoor club on Norwegian soil. The daily capacity of the location is 5,000 people. There will be some of the world’s most spectacular installations, such as Arcadia Spectacular Spider– a 360 degree, female-spitting mechanical creations, which is over 50 tonnes built by fighter jets and military helicopters with DJs both hanging under hydraulic spider head. This show is promising to be unforgettable.

Some of the leading and most famous DJs will be the headliners of the festival. You will be able to hear such names as David Guetta, Armin Van Buuren, Khalid and many more. Every night is supposed to start with “The Landing”. This is the show with the trapeze artists, dancers, pyrotechnics, lasers in combination with the music. Do you know what it is called? The bomb mix of Mad Max and Cirque du Soleil.

Pstereo

This festival is a great way to spend the last weekends of the summer. The festival will be for two days, 21 and 22 of August. With the lively student population, the third-largest city in Norway, Trondheim is the home for the Pstereo Festival. Up and coming acts mix with worldwide headliners and which take place on the idyllic Marine a beautiful outdoor venue next to the river and adjacent to the almost 1,000-year-old Nidaros Cathedral. The festival is suitable for every age. As there will be the club events at night, while during the day time it is the best gathering place for the families.

Findings Festival

Are you in Norway by the end of August and have heard of the Pstereo Festival, but are unable to go there, because you are in Oslo? Do not worry as exactly at the same time, from 21 to 22 of August, also hosts the Finding Festival. While the artists are still to be announced the festival never managed to disappoint the audience.

It is one of the biggest parties in Oslo and the best way to end the summer for sure. Finding Festival brings a collection of pop, rock, and everything else to Bislett Stadium. The celebration continues for two days, so jump in!

Stavern festival

Starvern Festival is one of the most popular festivals in Norway. It gathers around 75,000 people each year in scenic surroundings at Lavric Golf Arena. This year the festival is waiting for even more people while being held at the same place from the 9th until 11th of July. Some of the headliners have already been revealed and guess who they are? Martin Garrix, A$AP Rocky, Major Lazer and 1975. And yet the whole line up is still unknown.

The Stavern Festival was first introduced in 2001 and has welcomed some of the most prominent and beloved artists such as Ed Sheeran, Elton John, Travis Scott, Bob Dylan, David Guetta, Pharell Williams, Kygo, Alan Walker, Wiz Khalifa, Swedish House Mafia, Zara Larson and many more. As you see it has definitely sadi the world in the Norwegian music industry.

The Stavern Festival wants to give the festival participants “the little extra” in the form of unique experiences in the arena. This has resulted, among other things, in a rich and varied food offering and a separate camp area with its own experiences and activities.

Music really breaks free and is one of the things that are worthy of spending your time and money on. It is the huge inspiration and the huge energy through the sound waves which comes with a pleasant breeze. The reasons to mark your calendar in red in order to come to one of the festivals to Norway are more than enough, the only thing left is your desire.

How Lorde wrote “Royals” and how it changed Pop

0

Lorde, Ella Marija Lani Yelich-O’Connor is a New Zealand singer and a songwriter. She was born in Auckland, the suburb of Takapuna in 1996. Lorde was born and raised in a very poor neighborhood. People used to starve and have very improper livelihood conditions in that region. Lorde was also from a poor family, that could not afford any luxury items. Though, she was always determined to skip that kind of life and to make her life comfortable.

Ella Marija was in love with the aristocracy and royals, such as Marie Antoinette, Louis XVI of France and King Nicholas II of Russia. This was the inspiration for adopting her stage name, Lorde. She was always a talented kid and expressed interest in performing at local venues in her early teenagers.

Her career started in 2009 when she signed the agreement with the Universal Music Group and began her collaboration with producer Joe Little. She started recording her material with Little in 2011. The music, produced by Lorde is an electro-pop and contains elements of sub-genres such as dream pop as well as indie-electro. Lorde has two Grammy Awards on her account. She was also nominated for Golden Globe and Brit awards. Alongside her musical nominations, Lorde was included in Time’s list of the most influential teenagers in 2013 and 2014. In 2014 she was also included in the Forbes 30 under 30 lists. According to the reports, she has sold over five million albums worldwide by 2017.

Rookie singers in NZ

Lorde lived in a poor neighborhood. People there were not like those pop stars, who are used to riding luxurious cars, wear designers’ clothes and have villas in several places all across the world. Famous pop singers from all over the world would be invited to perform at different events in different venues. Takapuna also had some of the luxury venues, mostly dedicated to gambling.

Actually, casinos used to be one of the biggest employers for rookies singers in NZ in the past. Some of the best online casinos New Zealand would contract young singers in performing their songs for new games or events on their platforms, while offline venues would simply throw parties or concerts for their VIP guests.

Unfortunately, Lorde was not part of the few who got the offer for performing in a casino, and for the better as well.

How it all started

She was a girl who was raised in a family where fights and harassment would be a daily thing. She could see it all inside her family as well as outside of the family. Though, she would always want to live a different life.

While being a teenager, she used to listen to Kanye West, Jay Z, and Lana Del ray. Those were the artists, who influenced her the most. Moreover, their life was the inspiration for her best known and the most successful song of the Royals. Lorde wrote the song when she started a collaboration with Little. She said that Little was the person that she enjoyed working with. He was not like any others in the industry, but the opposite was very attentive and supportive of her decisions.

Lorde wrote the Royals in literally an hour and a half. She wrote it on the way to Little. She put all her inspiration, the knowledge and the outlook on the world into this song. Little approved the song and liked it instantly. He worked on the song every day and in the end they got one of the best selling and most listened songs on the Billboard. The chords of the song are something similar to Katty Perry and Pharell Williams. The chor starts with the loud tunes and then drops down at the main chord. This technique is used in the Royals and in Pharell Williams’ Happy as well.

We will never be Royals

If you have at least once listened to the song, you would most probably get it all. The lyrics are all about the people who drive Cadillacs and the people who are nervous about going to parties, just because they do not have the money for the cab. This is the story of people who are lucky to be born in wealthy families, and people like Ella and her friends, who could only dream of luxury cars and diamond rings.

If we go along with the lyrics, we can read the thoughts from the lines. It is all about people who were never born as royals and thus could never afford the life of the stars. The lyrics tell us that Lorde and her friends were ordinary teenagers, who were not really proud of their addresses, though have their own dreams and goals.

The main goal for those teenagers was to escape the present life to create life similar to the movies. Basically, this is what Lorde did with her own life. After she released the song, it got popular instantly and was the leader of different charts and billboards. She could have never imagined that.

The lyrics can remind us that we are all sculpted from different material and it is not necessary for everyone to be the same and for everyone to wear expensive clothes, in order to stand out from the crowd. Lorde did stand out with her talent and stood out with her passion for achieving her goal. This is what helped her to create the life she was dreaming about while writing the lyrics for the Royals at her home in New Zealand.

With the release of the song it soon topped Billboard Hot 100. While expressing her reaction to the great news, Lorde said that the feeling was very much similar to having the Birthday and Christmas celebration, together with being able to wash your head for the first time through a long period. She was the youngest artist to top the US chart since Tiffany in 1897. She was also the first artist from New Zealand to achieve Billboard Hot 100 #1 as a lead artist.

Lorde became the youngest solo artist to write and perform a Hot 100 chart-topper at the age of 17. The previous record belonged to Soulja Boy Tell’em. Thus, American rapper still remains in the first position as his song was written and produced by himself, unlike the Royals, which was produced by Joel Little.

Together with the love of royals and popular American singers, the inspiration for the song was from the photo holding on Lorde’s wall. The photo featured baseball legend, George Brett. She said that she had an image from National Geographic. In the picture, the baseball legend wore a t-shirt that said “Royals”.

The Royals was named the Best Song of 2013 by MTV News. The commentator also said that although she might never be a royal, the single and the record have already influenced the whole music industry. She won the Song Of The Year at the Grammy Awards in 2014. She also received the award for the Best Pop Solo Performance for the song. She performed the song at the awards.

While most of the teenagers of her age, wrote about love and unhappy or happy relationships, Ella decided to put something more into the words. She took one of the most crucial subjects and wrote something very unique and authentic about her own experience.

We might not be royals, and this might not be in our blood, but it should never prevent us from having big dreams and doing great things.

XBS DEEP Delivers Premium Bass Performance
Equipped with Panasonic’s bass playback technology “XBS DEEP (Extra Bass System Deep) *1“, these headphones are built for enjoying low frequency music like trap and rap music. The Growing Relationship Between Rock Music and Gaming

0

During the 1950s and 1960s, rock music was one of the most listened to genres of the era with big-name stars like Jimi Hendrix and Ozzy Osbourne driving the style to the mainstream. Following those glory years, the interests of listeners changed from one decade to the next as releases such as Dancing Queen by Abba and Billie Jean by Michael Jackson set the tone for the general music scene in both the 70s and 80s. That said, however, Guns N’ Roses did help to keep the rock candle burning with their iconic track, Sweet Child O’ Mine in 1987.

As a result of the impact of rock music since the 1950s, we’re going to consider how its contemporary relationship with iGaming platforms, such as online casino in Canada LeoVegas, is ensuring that the genre still has mainstream relevance.

Developments Influenced by Rock Stars

Throughout the 21st century, the rock genre has struggled to replicate the effect that it had on listeners many years ago. Along with the sound itself, fans of the genre became immersed in the personalities of at-the-time stars due to the uniqueness of their approach and music style. As mentioned above, Jimi Hendrix and Ozzy Osbourne were iconic entertainers during the rise of rock music in the 50s and 60s, yet, all these years later, they continue to influence contemporary pop culture.

Regarding their relationship with the iGaming industry, online casino slots that are based around their legacies have been developed and are available at many modern-day platforms, including LeoVegas. When playing the Jimi Hendrix slot at LeoVegas, the opening features some of his most famous songs, while the backdrop to the game is, rather suitably, a stage. Moreover, the Seattle-born musician’s slot includes numerous bonus features at the mobile casino online, including the aptly integrated Purple Haze symbol.

Their Wider Gaming Impact

Because of their significance to the rock scene, Ozzy Osbourne and Guns N’ Roses have also had video slot games centered around them. However, in addition to the titles that can be found at LeoVegas, the above music stars have also seen their involvement expand beyond Canadian casino online into the traditional gaming market due to their iconic status.

<iframe width=”560″ height=”315″ src=”https://www.youtube.com/embed/0ISlVt5nF2c” frameborder=”0″ allow=”accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture” allowfullscreen></iframe>

Crazy Train, which is an Ozzy Osbourne track that was released in 1980, has been featured in numerous console video games like Guitar Hero: World Tour, Madden NFL 25 and Rock Band 3. Moreover, the now 71-year-old has also done voice acting alongside other musicians such as Lemmy Kilmister, Lita Ford and Rob Halford in Brutal Legend. Although the game itself isn’t based around the Birmingham-born musician, his very involvement speaks volumes about the relationship between gaming and rock music, as 53 years on from the start of his career, his contributions are still being appreciated and recognized.

Gaming Won’t Let Rock Icons Be Forgotten

Ultimately, regardless of the general feeling that people have towards rock as a music genre, there is still an acceptance that its true legends deserve to be remembered. While console developments have sought to integrate elements of rock into their titles, slot games at LeoVegas and beyond have been pivotal in enhancing the relationship between the genre and gaming over the last few yea
