Platinum country artist Aaron Goodvin is creating A World for Good
Canadian country artist Aaron Goodvin has launched a campaign to raise money and awareness for six charities in partnership with A World For Good – a new online platform that lets artists engage and involve fans in their giving decisions. The Warner Music Canada and Reviver Records artist has selected charities related to causes that have impacted his life, and is asking his fans to vote for their favorite of the six non-profit organizations.
A World For Good is a platform that allows fans’ to determine how funds get distributed. When voting, a fan can also purchase an exclusive t-shirt saying Together we can make a world for good and featuring Aaron’s signature, with a portion of the proceeds going to the specific charity they have voted for. Fan votes determine the percentage of funds and time that Aaron will be giving to each charity in the coming year.
The six charities are: St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, World Vision, MS Society of Canada, Ronald McDonald House Charities, Children’s Wish Foundation of Canada, and Stollery Children’s Hospital Foundation. Aaron’s participation is the first time a music artist has participated in an A World For Good campaign. Aaron reflected on his involvement saying, “So many exciting things have been happening for me in my career. Because of that I have been looking for ways to help those who are facing challenges right now. A World For Good is a great way to do that and involve my fans who make it all happen for me. I hope that other artists will follow our lead.” Aaron’s A World For Good campaign can be seen at www.aworldforgood.com/a/aarongoodvin
Alberta native Aaron Goodvin has had an exciting year in Canada with four Top 10 singles, an extensive touring schedule, and a recent CCMA win for Songwriter of the Year for his platinum selling single “Lonely Drum,” the only platinum selling country single in Canada released in 2017 or 2018. Aaron’s sophomore album is scheduled for release in Canada on Warner Music Canada, and in the US and worldwide on Reviver Records in February and features his current Canadian single and fourth consecutive Top 10 hit “You Are.”
A World For Good is an online audience engagement and empowerment platform that lets celebrities support the causes their fans care about. Queen’s Iconic “Bohemian Rhapsody” Becomes The Most-Streamed Song From The 20th Century
“Bohemian Rhapsody”, the iconic single by British rock legends Queen, has officially become the world’s most-streamed song from the 20th Century, as well as the most-streamed Classic Rock song of all time. UMG’s teams around the world have actively promoted discovery across streaming platforms, physical reissues, merchandise and experiential programs to introduce “Bohemian Rhapsody” to new fans more than 40 years after it was first recorded. Today, the original song and official video for “Bohemian Rhapsody”, taken from Queen’s seminal 1975 album A Night At The Opera, surpassed 1.6 billion streams globally across all major streaming services.
“Bohemian Rhapsody” is regularly cited as one of the greatest songs ever recorded. In 2004, the song was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame and Freddie Mercury’s vocal performance was named by the readers of Rolling Stone magazine as the best in rock history.
The instantly recognizable anthem also has been buoyed by the success of the biographical film Bohemian Rhapsody, which tells the incredible story of the band’s storied career. In just five weeks on release the film has become the highest grossing music biopic in history.
Thank you, Next – Google Reveals 2018’s Top Trending Entertainment and Music Searches
Today, Google Canada launched the 18th annual Year in Search, revealing the most sought-after people, pop culture moments, and questions that captured our attention this past year.
It’s no secret that Canadians turn to Search to answer their burning questions on celebrity gossip, to sing along to latest hit single, and to find more about the star studded cast of the hottest movies. Google’s lists of top trending searches help us look back on the events that captured our interest in 2018!
We asked Google “How to make a fascinator?” as we joined the world in watching Prince Harry and Meghan Markle tie the knot. We mourned the losses of Anthony Bourdain and Kate Spade. We took to Google to find out more about Freddie Mercury as Bohemian Rhapsody topped searches. We asked Google for every last detail on Tessa and Scott after watching them make Olympic history.
The complete lists are below with links to additional Year in Search collateral. Please let me know if you’d like to coordinate an interview with Nicole Bell, Trends Expert with Google Canada, who can speak to Google’s annual analysis of the trillions of searches performed globally throughout the year and the questions that united our country.
Thanks,
X
