Simple Minds Announce North American Tour
Simple Minds have announced a North American Tour for the Fall, 2018 including dates in Toronto, D.C, New York, Chicago, Nashville and Los Angeles. It’s been five years since they’ve toured this side of the world, so the anticipation is high.
Simple Minds career has seen them responsible for some of the most innovative and enduring anthems in rock music.
The North American Tour goes on sale to the public at 10am local on Friday, April 27th.
VIP Packages, including a meet & greet with Simple Minds, an invitation to the pre-show soundcheck and Q&A session, a signed poster and more, will be available beginning April 25th.
‘Walk Between Worlds’, their eighteenth studio album has received rave reviews around the world.
The album was produced by Simple Minds with Andy Wright and Gavin Goldberg, both of whom worked on Big Music. It is an album of two distinct sides, very much the old-school album format that singer Jim Kerr and Charlie Burchill grew up with as music fans. In addition to classic Simple Minds’ anthems and revisiting their new wave roots, the album also explores more cinematic sounds, with the title track and ‘Barrowland Star’ both featuring dramatic orchestrations recorded at Abbey Road.

“How To Talk To Girls At Parties” Gets Punk-Filled Soundtrack
Sony Music Masterworks has announced the release of How To Talk To Girls At Parties (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack), the musical companion to the hugely anticipated new film from award-winning writer-director, John Cameron Mitchell (Hedwig and the Angry Inch), based on the short story by Neil Gaiman (American Gods, Norse Mythology). The album arrives at all music retailers and streaming services on Friday, May 11. Out today ahead of the full soundtrack release is the single track, “Between the Breaths” from beloved indie-darlings, Mitski and Xiu Xiu. The A24 release of a See-Saw Films/Little Punk production, How to Talk to Girls at Parties opens in theaters across the U.S on May 25. StudioCanal UK releases the film across the UK on May 11.
Hailed by VICE as “a bittersweet intersectional love story between a rebellious alien and an out-of-his-depth insecure schoolboy fanzine writer,” How to Talk to Girls at Parties is an electrifying and singular punk rock extravaganza set in the kinetic world of 1977 London. How To Talk to Girls at Parties (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) includes new music and songs composed expressly for the film by such strikingly unique artists as Nico Muhly, Jamie Stewart (Xiu Xiu), and Matmos. In addition, the album features original songs performed by the film’s fictional punk band, The Dyschords, written by Bryan Weller and vocalist Martin Tomlinson (Selfish C***), alongside additional new music from the film performed by writer-director John Cameron Mitchell, cabaret legend Amber Martin, and How To Talk To Girls At Parties stars Elle Fanning and Alex Sharp. In addition, the soundtrack also gathers landmark tracks from such iconic artists as The Velvet Underground, The Damned, A.C. Newman, Ezra Furmanand, and the Prolific Urdoos (a.k.a. DIY punk hero Bruno Wizard of The Homosexuals).
Adapted by Philippa Goslett and John Cameron Mitchell from the classic short story of the same name by Neil Gaiman, How to Talk to Girls at Parties was heralded earlier this month by an equally vibrant new trailer. Media outlets including NYLON and i-D raved, with the latter declaring that How to Talk to Girls at Parties “looks freakishly good.” “As he did with his film Hedwig and the Angry Inch, (John Cameron Mitchell has) created something that’s as much about a music scene and what it means to its fandom as it is about the characters or the story,” wrote The Verge. “It also looks like a visually bonkers wild ride.”

Kellogg’s Chocolate Frosted Flakes Drops First-Ever Record Made Of Cereal
Chocolate lovers will be singing a new tune when Kellogg’s Chocolate Frosted Flakes hits bowls and playlists today with the first record to ever be made out of actual cereal – so that when you are done listening to new release “Hello” from Simon Cowell-backed boy band PRETTYMUCH, you can enjoy the sweet taste of Chocolate Frosted Flakes.
The delicious, vinyl-inspired record features a core of Chocolate Frosted Flakes, topped with layers of milk and dark chocolate. Pressed in a 3D-printed mold to create playable grooves, the limited-edition record features a silhouette of Tony the Tiger, to showcase the crunchy, chocolatey Chocolate Frosted Flakes.
Sweetening the record beyond its cereal recipe is the song it features, the new release “Hello” by PRETTYMUCH, an iHeartRadio 2018 Best Boy Band nominee. For the full Chocolate Frosted Flakes experience, fans view an exclusive “Hello” music video featuring Tony the Tiger on PRETTYMUCH’s YouTube channel, and take the dance party on the go by downloading the song on iTunes.
Select fans who registered with PRETTYMUCH in advance will be the first to receive the record today and have the chance to meet the band in person at Kellogg’s NYC café. Starting tomorrow, all fans can pick up the Chocolate Frosted Flakes record for free at the café, while supplies last. A limited number of the collector’s item will also be available in Chicago on April 21 at Reckless Records’ Wicker Park location, in honor of Record Store Day.
Unlike other chocolate cereals, Chocolate Frosted Flakes’ flavor is just that – frosted – onto the corn flake base, providing a distinctly chocolatey taste while maintaining a satisfying crunch. Kellogg’s worked directly with fans to test how different cocoas interact with balancing notes on the cereal flake and in the milk left at the bottom of the bowl.
Chocolate Frosted Flakes is available at all major retailers and grocery stores where breakfast foods are sold with a suggested retail price between $4.69 and $5.79.
