Exclusive, One Night Only Garth Brooks Concert Set For 300 Drive-In Theaters Across North America

Garth Brook is set for a concert event at 300 drive-in theaters across North America, only on June 27th. The drive in concert screening will be shown on the big screen on the grounds of the Casper Events Center.

Tickets will be on sale Friday, June 19th at 10:00 AM MT. They will be on sale atĀ Ticketmaster.com/garthbrooks. There, you will also be able to review the drive-in theaters available in your area. Tickets are General Admission and of Limited Availability. They will cost $100, all-inclusive. Each ticket will admit one passenger car/truck. The event will take place rain or shine and will begin at dusk. All tickets must be purchased at Ticketmaster.com and no tickets will be available through the venue box office. The gates of theĀ Casper Events CenterĀ will open at 7:00pm and the show will begin at appx. 8:30 p.m.

Concession and gate entrance details will be announced shortly.

The concert will be created exclusively for this event, making this a once in a lifetime experience. The concert will be the largest ever one-night show to play at outdoor theaters across the United States and Canada.

In conjunction with the ongoing 35thĀ anniversary year celebration ofĀ Def Jam Recordings, and the 30thĀ anniversary ofĀ Public Enemy’sĀ worldwide breakthrough albumĀ Fear Of A Black Planet, UMe/Def Jam premieres the new three-episode docu-seriesĀ Through The LensĀ today.

An ode to the impact of the iconic photography that became synonymous with Def Jam andĀ its biggest stars,Ā Through The LensĀ will focus on the three distinct eras that span the label’s 35-year history to date, following three post-modern titans of photoĀ­graphy:Ā Janette Beckman, Ricky Powell, andĀ Jonathan Mannion.

Episode one ofĀ Through The LensĀ premieres onĀ June 19th, focusing on British-born photographerĀ Janette Beckman, who lives and works inĀ New YorkĀ and began her career at the dawn of punk rock, working for such music magazines asĀ The FaceĀ andĀ Melody Maker. Beckman was one of the first photographers to shoot LL Cool J, T La Rock and Slick Rick, whose images are featured in the series.

Episode two premieres onĀ June 26thĀ and features photographerĀ Ricky PowellĀ withĀ in-depth interviews and images, with most of the latter unreleased including a photo of Chuck D at a mutual friend’s wedding in theĀ Dominican RepublicĀ in 1989 on the precipice of Public Enemy releasing the albumĀ Fear Of The Black Planet.

Episode three premieres onĀ July 10thĀ and focuses on the photos of photographer and film directorĀ Jonathan Mannion, who has shot more than 300 album covers and worked with hip-hop and R&B performers including Jay Z and Young Jeezy.Ā Through The LensĀ features twenty rarely-seen Mannion photos, including contact sheets from theĀ Reasonable DoubtĀ photoshoot with Jay-Z, as well as stories behind photos of Method Man, Redman and DMX.

Through The LensĀ also features interviews with original first-generation Def Jam artistĀ LL Cool J; music journalist, hip-hop archivist, essayist and original first-generation Def Jam publicity directorĀ Bill Adler; and long-time Def Jam visual artist, graphic designer and style guruĀ Cey Adams. Adler and Adams collaborated on the 300-page coffee-table book,Ā Def Jam Recordings: The First 25 Years of the Last Great Record LabelĀ (Rizzoli, 2010), which also happens to be packed with the photography of Powell, Beckman, and Mannion (among many others).

The Roots Picnic 2020 Partners With Michelle Obama’s ‘When We All Vote’ For Virtual Festival Experience

This year, in partnership with Michelle Obama’s national, nonpartisan nonprofit organization, When We All Vote, The Roots are launching the 13th Annual Roots Picnic as a virtual broadcast experience on Saturday, June 27th, exclusively on YouTube. The event is Executive Produced by Shawn Gee (Live Nation Urban), Ahmir “Questlove” Thompson and Tarik Trotter (Two One Five Entertainment) and Dan Parise (DPS).

Hosted by Questlove, Black Thought and Michelle Obama, the picnic will be filled with amazing performances by a diverse group of young highly popular hip hop, R&B and gospel artists with the goal of engaging and reaching 500,000 eligible voters. When We All Vote volunteers will sign up to text voters throughout the show through Outvote, a web and mobile organizing platform used to reach unregistered voters. Volunteers can sign-up to learn how to reach voters before the event here. In addition to music, this event will include pre-recorded segments with musicians, athletes, social media influencers, When We All Vote Co-Chairs and The Roots sharing one simple call to action, register to vote.
