Can’t Get To The Latest Music Festival? Go To Your Movie Theatre!

0

Loton Corp’s LiveXLive subsidiary has entered into an agreement with KAOS Connect and Screenvision Media to exhibit its “Best of the Fest” music festival series, showcasing LiveXLive’s produced and curated content from leading music artists and labels. “Best of the Fest” will roll-out in 2017 to select theaters within Screenvision Media’s robust network of more than 14,300 screens. LiveXLive has already partnered with Rock in Rio, Outside Lands and other festivals to present performances of artists such as Katy Perry, Rihanna, Bruce Springsteen, Maroon 5, Radiohead, Chance the Rapper, Metallica, Elton John, Avicii and Placido Domingo.

The alliance will be spearheaded by internationally renowned former NCM/Fathom executives Dan Diamond and Shelly Maxwell of KAOS Connect, who are recognized as industry leaders in alternative content for movie theatres. “Best of the Fest” will provide substantial branding and expanded revenue opportunities for LiveXLive. The alliance will leverage Screenvision Media’s extensive advertising and promotional platforms for the benefit of LiveXLive’s brand, content, and partners – which include the artists, events and venues – as well as the fans themselves.

“Our alliance with KAOS and Screenvision Media extends our platform beyond the realm of personal screens and onto the silver screen where fans can share a larger than life experience,” said Robert Ellin, LiveXLive Founder and Chairman. “We believe the growth of the live music business is just like the sports world’s hockey stick-like growth 30 years ago. The number of live music events, tickets sold, and sponsor dollars spent is soaring -and we are only at the beginning of the digital side of this revolution. We expect to extend the platform to OTT, Cable/Satellite, VR and beyond.”

“Through our alliance with KAOS Connect we’re always on the hunt for new and engaging Event Cinema content that we can bring to theaters, especially content that attracts a loyal group of fans,” said Bernadette McCabe, Senior Vice President, Business Strategy, Screenvision Media. “Our agreement with LiveXLive now gives us the opportunity to give fans the chance to gather in local cinemas and experience the best music festival programming from across the world.”

In advance of the expansion of LiveXLive’s mobile app and LiveXLive.com early next year, the company will continue to acquire rights to top music festivals, nightlife performances and other live music and curated content to pair with LiveXLive’s originally produced content to establish itself as the premier independent global live music and lifestyle network. LiveXLive is expanding partnerships around the globe to deliver the first fully interactive live music network to consumers. These partnerships include Verizon (VZ), Rock in Rio, Outside Lands, Tao, The Saban Theatre, OneLive, Marquee, Complex, Koko and the tech company LiveOne.

Jack White’s Third Man Announces Partnership With Standing Rock School

0

Jack White’s Third Man Books and Third Man Records are grateful and excited to announce a new collaborative project in support of The Defenders of the Water School at Standing Rock (Mní Wičhóni Nakíčižiŋ Owáyawa), with plans to publish the activist students’ work in the public forum and to help the school raise much needed funds.

Under the guidance of Director of Development, April Rain, of Mní Wičhóni Nakíčižiŋ Owáyawa, thirdmanbooks.com will feature a page dedicated to exhibiting work, across various media, created by students and volunteers from The Defenders of the Water School. This public forum will allow the students’ voices to be heard the world over. Third Man Books is humbled to have the opportunity to display their inspiring work and assist in spreading public awareness of the ongoing struggle at Standing Rock. This is a situation that should not be viewed in isolation — this is a situation that affects us all. Water is life.

In order to help the school fund its program in the Očhéthi Šakówiŋ Camp community in South Dakota, we would like to give you an opportunity to donate and show solidarity with the students and their families by wearing and representing the school on your heart, over your chest. Proceeds from sales of this original Third Man t-shirt design — done in collaboration with and approved by the school — will be donated directly to aid the school.

The Defenders of the Water school serves the families of the NoDAPL camp communities. In addition to helping families understand the homeschooling laws in their state, they provide educational opportunities for children ages seven to thirteen. The morning begins with a lesson in Lakota language and culture. Classes are also offered daily in English and Math. Members of the camp community also provide lessons about their traditions and volunteers share their knowledge in workshops.

CTV and The Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (CARAS) announced today that multi-platinum, singer-songwriter Shawn Mendes is confirmed to perform on CTV’s broadcast of THE 2017 JUNO AWARDS. Following the successful release of his latest album Illuminate this fall, four 2016 MTV EMA wins, two 2016 IHEART RADIO MMVA wins, and a performance on SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE this past weekend, Mendes returns to the JUNO stage for the third year in a row. THE 2017 JUNO AWARDS airs live on CTV and CTV GO from the Canadian Tire Centre in Ottawa on Sunday, April 2, with more broadcast details to come in the coming weeks.

“There’s no better way to showcase Canadian music during the 150th anniversary of confederation than to have one of the country’s most-impactful international artists take the JUNO stage,” said Randy Lennox, President, Broadcasting and Content, Bell Media. “We look forward to welcoming this young superstar back for what is guaranteed to be a spectacular JUNO Awards broadcast.”

“We couldn’t be happier to have Shawn back at the JUNO Awards in our Nation’s Capital,” said Allan Reid, President & CEO, CARAS/The JUNO Awards and MusiCounts. “In 2017 we celebrate the sesquicentennial of confederation, and this is just the start of what is going to be an unforgettable line-up for the show.”

Just in time for the holidays, tickets for THE 2017 JUNO AWARDS broadcast are available starting at $39 through the Canadian Tire Centre Box Office, by phone at 1-877-788-3267 and online at ticketmaster.ca. The JUNO Awards has partnered with Plus 1 so that $1 from every ticket is donated to MusiCounts, helping to ensure that children and youth across Canada have access to musical instruments. Plus 1 is a non-profit that partners with touring artists to facilitate a $1 add-on from every concert ticket to go to a cause the artist partner believes in.
