John C. Reilly on Ralph Breaks the Internet, Sarah Silverman & mascot hugging

John C. Reilly returns as Wreck-It Ralph today in Disneyās Ralph Breaks the Internet, and I had the distinct pleasure of chatting with the star about stepping back into the role.
Reilly is a charming, warm, and fascinating actor to chat with, and heās almost as animated as Ralph when he talks about the character that he loves to play.
Sitting down to talk in New York, Reilly said that getting into character is more like a point of view, since he doesnāt change his voice much for the role. āItās just like taking a more naive point of view,ā he said.
āHeās the guy who gets everything wrong on the first try,ā Reilly said. āRalph makes a lot of well-intentioned mistakes everywhere in his life, and certainly when he gets to the internet.ā
āIt was a big treat to go back to this guy,ā he said, ābecause I felt really close to him, and he really came from my heart. I built this character with Rich Moore and Phil Johnston on the first one, so getting to go back with him was like seeing an old friend.ā
And then, there was the time that Reilly met Ralphās Disneyland counterpart. So what did he do when they met?
āYou know, I saw the mascot; they finally have a Ralph mascot that walks around Disneyland now, and I got to meet him at the premiere and the first thing I did was, I ran up to him and gave him this big hug. He was nice to hugāheās really big.ā
In the end, Reilly suggested that if he had the chance to play Ralph again, āI love this guy so much, I want to spend as much time with him as possible. Maybe they should give me the mascot job at Disneyland. I can walk around and be him all day.ā

Marianas Trench Announce Suspending Gravity Canadian Tour
Today, multi-double platinum selling, progressive pop band, Marianas Trench announced their Suspending Gravity Canadian tour which kicks off in Windsor, Ontario on March 6, 2019 at Caesars Windsor Hotel & Casino and wraps on March 29, 2019 at the Orpheum in Vancouver, British Columbia.
The 15-date tour will be held at venues that will give the fans more of an up-close-and personal live experience, and feature the powerhouse Vancouver quartetās signature high-energy performance, while showcasing material from their forthcoming studio album āPhantomsā in addition to hits from their previous double platinum and gold-selling albums.

Tom Wilsonās Lee Harvey Osmond Announces New LP, Shares First Single
When Tom Wilson created the moniker Lee Harvey Osmond he wasnāt entirely certain if this was a new stage name or merely a provocative handle for the musician/artist collective assembled by producer Michael Timmins to record a collection of Tom Wilson songs that would become A Quiet Evil. This was the first of four albums bearing the featured artist Lee Harvey Osmond. The Folk Sinner was next, followed by the break through Beautiful Scars. It was during this time between releasing Beautiful Scars and recording Kings and Kings with Blackie and The Rodeo Kings that Wilson went public with his recent discovery. He was not exactly the person he thought he was.
In his 50s, Wilson learned that the parents who raised him were not his birth parents; that, in fact, he was adopted and that his biological mother was a long time family friend from the Kahnawake reserve, just outside of Montreal. Grappling with this newfound sense of himself plunged Wilson into a quest for his heritage and his truth, and led to the writing of his bestselling autobiography, Beautiful Scars (Doubleday Canada). The book is a colourful and truthful tale of this quest, and his lifeās tribulations and successes along the path.
āIt is a story of finding your way home,ā he says. āItās a story of adoption, of growing up thinking youāre a big, sweaty, Irish guy, and finding out at the age of 53 that youāre a Mohawk.ā
The discovery of his true heritage and the culture that it carries now informs all of his art. On this fourth Lee Harvey Osmond album, Mohawk, due out January 25 via Latent Recordings, Wilson continues down the path of his ālong way home, āWilson says. āIt is my way of showing honour and respect to a culture that Iām just shaking hands with. My truth was hidden from me – I was born a Mohawk baby, and finally Iām becoming a Mohawk man,ā a line he sings on the LPās first single, āMohawkā, available to stream today.
Under the steady hand of producer Michael Timmins, the musician collective Lee Harvey Osmond revives the origins of āAcid Folkā with appearances from old friends Ray Farrugia (percussion), Aaron Goldstein (steel guitar), Jesse OāBrien (keyboards) and introduces Anna Reddick (bass). The expanded use of Darcy Hepnerās brass and baritone sax and brilliant harmonica flashes from blues veteran Paul Reddick and Wilsonās son, Thompson Wilson, sound as guideposts behind the moody grooves of Wilsonās literary recital. Suzie Ungerleider (Oh Susanna) provides the perfect backing vocal ingredient for Wilsonās baritone.
Wilsonās life has been an ongoing quest so it is perhaps inevitable that after decades immersed in poetry, literature and music he would turn attention to visual art, a language that transcends the verbal and the written. The packaging and visual elements of Mohawk incorporate Tom Wilson creations. In particular a painting of the same name from his collection Beautiful Scars: Mohawk Warriors, Hunter and Chiefs
He is still driven to ask questions, to seek meaning from the elusive mysteries hidden beneath the surface of everyday existence, to come to terms with his history, his identity; to aspire to higher truths and to understand his place in the world. āIf I have 20 more years on this planet, I hope to keep becoming a Mohawk, because I canāt become a Mohawk the way my brothers and sisters and ancestors did.ā
