CTV Delivers North American Exclusive with ADELE LIVE IN LONDON, November 25

Canadians will be the first in North America to witness British superstar Adele launch her anticipated new album as CTV announced today a timely and exclusive deal with the BBC for ADELE LIVE IN LONDON (entitled ADELE AT THE BBC in the U.K.), premiering on Canada’s #1 network on Wednesday, Nov. 25 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on CTV and CTV GO. In this deal, CTV brings Adele to Canadians with a showcase of live performances of classic and new tracks, and a chat with host Graham Norton (THE GRAHAM NORTON SHOW), following the worldwide release of her eagerly awaited third album, 25, on Nov. 20. The special will air later on Bravo, E!, MTV, Much, and M3, as well as CTV.ca, Bravo.ca, MTV.ca, Much.com, and TheLoop.ca.

The deal also brings Canadians unprecedented access inside the BBC studios for an exclusive CTV interview as ETALK’s Danielle Graham sits down one-on-one with Adele in London to discuss the new special, her new album, and more. Viewers can see the interview during a special episode of ETALK, airing Friday, Nov. 20 at 7 p.m. ET/PT on CTV and CTV GO, the day Adele’s 25drops worldwide.

“Canadians simply love Adele and we’re proud that Canada’s #1 network has partnered with the BBC to bring the chart-topping, best-selling, #1 artist exclusively to our viewers,” said Mike Cosentino, Senior Vice-President, Programming, CTV Networks and CraveTV.

“I can’t wait for the show,” said Adele. “The BBC has been wonderful to me over the years and Graham and I get on great so it’s going to be a laugh.”

Filmed in front a live audience, Adele will perform classic tracks as well as songs from her new album 25, accompanied by her live band. Host Graham Norton will also chat with Adele about her career and life to date. ADELE LIVE IN LONDON will be Adele’s first television performance since she performedSkyfall at the 85^TH ACADEMY AWARDS in February 2013, where she won Best Original Song for the theme tune to the 23^rd James Bond film.

CTV is one of only four territories to partner with the BBC on the special, joining Canal Plus in Spain, VRT in Belgium, and VARA on NPO3 in The Netherlands.

Following the CTV premiere, Bell Media delivers ADELE LIVE IN LONDON to viewers across an array of channels and digital platforms, including: Bravo (Nov. 26 at 10 p.m. ET), E! He’s known as “Big Toe” and is the bassist and vocalist for the ‘Big Toe’ band and played the principal role on Fox Television’s Emmy-nominated commercial ‘Feet’. The advertisement, aired during the 2000 and 2001 Super Bowls, was for the NFL website, and it told the story of a character named Roger who was so obsessed with the website that he did everything else with his feet—including changing his baby’s diaper

Gwar Covers Cyndi Lauper’s “She Bop” And There’s Video

GWAR scares us, both because they’re giant monsters from outer space with exaggerated genitals, and also because they keep coming back to The A.V. Club’s Undercover and destroying (in the best way) every song they attempt. This year it’s Cyndi Lauper’s “She Bop,” the 1984 single that followed in the massive wake of “Girls Just Want To Have Fun.” The lyrics here are something of an extension of that song, considering that they’re about masturbation. Though they’re pretty tame-sounding 30 years later, the words to “She Bop” were cited as one of the “filthy 15” that led to Tipper Gore and the PMRC getting all up in the music business. As usual, GWAR made the song their own—and added a little something extra, too.

I mean this, my daughter, Hannah, is the biggest fan of Bolt. My wife and I went to every Disney store, often, to check for new Bolt merch, clothes, anything, when the movie first came out. Nothing.
