Gnarly Head wines and the Grateful Dead raise a glass to 60 years of legendary American music with two new anniversary edition wines, marking the fourth year of their fan-favorite collaboration. The limited-release Old Vine Zinfandel and Cabernet Sauvignon will hit shelves nationwide next month in commemorative bottles featuring the Grateful Dead’s official 60th anniversary logo brought to life with show-stopping holographic foil.

The limited-release wines feature label designs that capture the Grateful Dead’s rich visual history and showcase the band’s special anniversary artwork of a memorable 60-year journey. The designs pair timeless Grateful Dead imagery with a contemporary twist, accented by holographic details and Gnarly Head’s rugged vine iconography for a bold tribute to music and wine.

“The incredible response to our past collaborations with the Grateful Dead has shown how this partnership resonates with fans,” notes Brett Johnson, Portfolio Director for Delicato Family Wines, the family-owned California winery that crafts Gnarly Head wines. “We’re excited to introduce a new version of our limited-release wines that honors the Grateful Dead’s 60-year legacy of genre-defying music and the lasting cultural impact that has made the band a true American icon.”

“For 60 years, the Grateful Dead has brought people together through music, community, and shared experiences—and that spirit lives on in this special collaboration with Gnarly Head wines,” shares David Lemieux, Grateful Dead archivist and legacy manager. “These Anniversary-Edition wines capture the energy, creativity, and individuality that have defined the Dead for six decades, and fans now have a new way to celebrate the music and memories made along the way.”

Fans can be among the first to sip the new limited edition wines at the Dead & Company’s three headlining shows in San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park on August 1–3, where Gnarly Head will pour its Gnarly Head x Grateful Dead Old Vine Zinfandel and Cabernet Sauvignon for guests 21 and over.

Crafted from 35- to 85-year-old vines in California’s Lodi region, the 2023 Gnarly Head x Grateful Dead Old Vine Zinfandel bursts with lush dark fruit flavors followed by a lingering hint of vanilla and peppery warmth from oak aging. The 2024 Gnarly Head x Grateful Dead Cabernet Sauvignon, grown in select California vineyards, offers juicy layers of plum, blackberry, and toasted mocha with a smooth, velvety finish. The winemaking behind both is a tribute to Gnarly Head’s expressive, fruit-forward style, made to pair perfectly with the music that inspired them.

Gnarly Head’s Limited-Edition Old Vine Zinfandel and Cabernet Sauvignon will be available nationwide beginning in August at a suggested retail price of $12.

We Came As Romans Share Haunting New Single “Where Did You Go?” Ahead of New Album

0

We Came As Romans have released their haunting new single, “where did you go?,” along with its accompanying official music video. The track, one of the final songs written for their forthcoming album’ ALL IS BEAUTIFUL…BECAUSE WE’RE DOOMED’ (due out August 22nd via Sharptone Records), marks a stark sonic departure for the band, embracing a darker, moodier atmosphere while exploring themes of identity, disconnection, and the ghosts of who we once were.

Speaking on the new track, We Came As Romans fontman Dave Stephens. “Where did you go was one of the final songs we wrote for the album, and it came together in a way that just felt special. From the first few notes, we knew it had a completely different energy- way moodier than anything we’d done so far on the record.

“Where Did You Go? is about the haunting feeling of being left without answers. It’s about losing a part of yourself. When we wrote it, we were reflecting on a version of ourselves we felt disconnected from-the parts of ourselves we used to believe in, the ones with better habits, more clarity, more hope.

“The production instantly brought me back to nights of driving around at night when I was younger and gave me this overwhelming feeling of nostalgia for a time when life felt a lot simpler. The nostalgia is real, but so is the growth that comes with asking yourself those hard questions,”

Minus the Bear Drop “Drilling” Video Ahead of 20th Anniversary Reissue of ‘Menos el Oso’

0

Minus the Bear have shared a new music video for “Drilling,” directed and edited by Cheyne Smith, and produced by Minus the Bear and Do Better For Artists.

The video, featuring the band jamming in the same rehearsal space they utilized twenty years ago when they first wrote the song, furthers the rollout of the deluxe reissue of their 2005 breakout album, Menos el Oso, due August 22 via Suicide Squeeze. The “Drilling” video follows the release of two recordings heard on the deluxe edition of the album: “Hooray (Demo)” and “The Pig War (Demo).”

Suicide Squeeze has also announced an additional pressing of Menos el Oso (20th Anniversary Deluxe Edition), a 2xLP on beautiful Hand Pour Algae vinyl, limited to 1,000 copies worldwide. The 2xLP release will include a remastered version of the original album on one 12″, and 5 unreleased original demos and an etching by bassist Cory Murchy on the flip side of the other. The reissue also includes Los Archivos Del Oso, a 24-page archive photo journal from the band’s personal collection.

Speaking on the reissue announcement, vocalist Jake Snider says “…Oso is a band and fan favorite! We came into our sound on this record. Excited people get to hear these demos for the first time! Revisiting demos and hearing the evolution of some of these tracks puts me right back in our early 2000s practice space. And now we’re literally back in that same practice space for rehearsals. It’s wild!”

Guitarist David Knudson says “We toured so much for Menos el Oso – all these songs and riffs are stuck in my muscle memory like core childhood memories. The fingers and feet instinctively know where to tap and stomp at just the right time to make the notes and melodies leap out of my guitar. We were trying to push the envelope back in 2005 on this one – incorporating glitchy guitar samples, hip hop breakbeats and more electronic elements to the sound we had established on Highly Refined Pirates. Proud to say that 20 years later it still sounds fresh and I’m grateful people keep coming back to it as one of their favorites!”

He continues, “Menos el Oso put us on a trajectory that none of us were expecting. There is a “before ‘Pachuca Sunrise’ video” moment in time, and then there is an “after ‘Pachuca Sunrise’ video” moment in time. It seemed like once people heard that song, and saw that video, everyone went straight to Limewire, Napster, Soulseek, BitTorrent, etc. and shared the album immediately. Celebrating the twentieth anniversary of something this monumental in our lives is a gift. Having the chance to appreciate it with our fans, families and fellow bandmates while we are all alive and kicking is an opportunity I can’t wait to embrace.”

I See Stars Announce First Album in 8 Years, ‘THE WHEEL,’ Out September 12

0

Electronic hardcore pioneers I See Stars have today announced their new album ‘THE WHEEL’, set for release on Friday, September 12 (via Sumerian Records). In celebration of the news, the band dropped their new track “Eliminator” along with the accompanying official visualizer.

Known for seamlessly fusing electronic soundscapes and futuristic production with crushing riffs and vocalist Devin Oliver’s soaring melodies, the upcoming full-length is the band’s latest body of work since their 2016 smash-hit album, ‘Treehouse’.

When asked about today’s announcement, I See Stars shared: “The last time we spent this much time on a record was our debut album, ‘3D’. ‘THE WHEEL’ is a time capsule capturing the past seven years of our lives. It’s a culmination of everything we’ve experienced individually, together, and as human beings navigating the chaos of the world.

“While we don’t plan to wait this long before releasing another album, we’re deeply grateful for the time it took to make this one. We poured ourselves into it, and we hope our fans feel that. We’re proud to finally share ‘THE WHEEL’ with you.”

SONS Drop Explosive New Single “I’m Tired” Ahead of Upcoming Album ‘Hallo’

0

SONS today release a brand-new track “I’m Tired” – a high-energy gut-punch for anyone who’s ever felt overwhelmed by the chaos of daily life. Raw, honest, and wildly relatable, this track taps into that universal urge to hit pause and escape. With shimmering hooks and explosive emotion, it’s the perfect teaser for their upcoming album Hallo set for release on September 26 via [PIAS] Recordings. Turn it up, hit repeat, and let it all out. You’re not alone.

About the song: “Besides enjoying life, you can also naturally experience exhaustion in all sorts of things. A song about that exhaustion that life sometimes brings and the urge to run away. The title speaks for itself and offers recognition for everyone.”

“I’m Tired” is the fourth glimpse of SONS’ third new album Hallo, following hot on the heels of “All Gold”, which was named Hotshot (Song of the Week) on Belgium’s premier radio station Studio Brussel.

With their forthcoming 3rd album Hallo the four-piece enter a new era, one in which their explosive garage rock gives way to songs that now also shine and sparkle. “Hallo” is the sound of youth unleashed. Of lives lived and experience knocking on your door. “Hello, we are SONS!”

SONS still relentlessly torment their instruments but what sets Hallo apart from previous releases is a certain joie de vivre that has crept in. By looking deeper into themselves, they have discovered that not every message needs to be accompanied by a fist on the table. A tap on the shoulder and a telling glance can sometimes be more effective.

The talisman for this fresh, musical, but still sharp and powerful sound: producer David McCracken. Also known for shaping the sexy groove of dEUS classic “The Architect”, the British producer has an impressive resume having worked with Stone Roses’ frontman Ian Brown, A$AP Rocky, Beyonce and Depeche Mode amongst others. McCracken loved the band’s new demos and made several trips to the band’s hometown of Melsele to help whip the songs into shape. The band then decamped to London to record the album.

SONS greedily feasted on the skills and knowledge McCracken brought to the fore as can be heard on the infectiously danceable first single “Do My Thing”, which amassed over 300 radio plays in Belgium, climbed to the top 5 of leading radio Studio Brussels listeners chart De Afrekening and got support in The Netherlands, Germany, France and Eastern Europe.

Working with McCracken proved to be a perfect match for SONS. “He took us completely out of our comfort zone,” says singer/guitarist Robin Borghgraef. “His way of working was very straightforward, and he constantly asked us – and certainly me as a singer – the question, ‘What do you want to say?’ That approach made us start thinking more deeply about what we wanted for this record. And, unlike previous albums, the lyrics on ‘Hello’ received much more attention. More than once, the lyric served as the foundation of a song, whereas before we took a different approach: make up riffs, figure out a song and add lyrics. This new approach added depth to the album.”

As for the subject matter on Hallo, SONS continues to find inspiration in everyday life and in the way we allow ourselves to be held hostage to hustle and bustle of things. Furious title track ‘Hello’ is about the constant accessibility and love/hate relationship with social media, where everyone follows each other blindly. “This song set the tone for the sound of the whole album”, Robin explains, “So here we say ‘Hello’ to everyone who knows us or doesn’t know us yet. Welcome to our latest record.”

Julian Casablancas + The Voidz Unleash Sci-Fi Punk Chaos on New EP ‘Megz of Ram’

0

Julian Casablancas + The Voidz release (Megz of Ram.) Produced by Chris Tabron (Beyonce, Die Antwoord, and Battles,) the EP is a four-track fever dream that dives headfirst into the band’s ever-mutating sonic multiverse.

Equal parts synth-drenched sci-fi score and post-punk punch, the project plays like a transmission from a parallel dimension, stitched together with jagged hooks and neon emotion. Julian’s unmistakable vocals snake through the chaos, animating each track and offering a warped crystal ball into the band’s next evolution.

Fittingly, it was recorded in the same East Village basement where Is This It first took shape – a full-circle seance of sound that fuses nostalgia with the present.

Earlier this year, the band delivered an electrifying performance of “Blue Demon” on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert (watch below), earlier this year, fueling anticipation among fans for what’s next. The band features a motley crew of larger-than-life musicians: Julian, of course, the WWE-style guitar slinger Beardo, surfer/shredder Amir Yaghami, 808-human hybrid Alex Carapetis, Jeff “Mr L.A.” Kite tickling the digital ivories, and the group’s spiritual anchor as well as online voice, bassist / synths, Jake Bercovici.

The Voidz return to Europe this summer for a string of festival dates, including a special hometown performance with IDLES at Bristol’s Block Party Festival on August 2. They’ll also appear at All Together Now in Ireland and Ypsigrock in Sicily.

Live Dates:
August 2 – Bristol, UK – IDLES’ Block Party Festival
August 3 – Waterford, Ireland – All Together Now Festival
August 9 – Sicily, Italy – Ypsigrock Festival

Pulley and Fire Sale Join Forces for ‘Split Personality’ Punk 7″ Out This September

0

Southern California skate-punk veterans Pulley and punk-rock supergroup Fire Sale have teamed up for a four-song split 7″, appropriately titled Split Personality, set for release on Friday, September 5, 2025, via Negative Progression Records. Fans can get their hands on the limited-edition vinyl when pre-orders launch on August 15, 2025.

Formed in 1994, Pulley remains one of the most influential and enduring names in melodic skate-punk. With five full-length albums on the legendary Epitaph Records, followed by two more on indie labels SBAM and Cyber Tracks, the band has amassed 50+ million streams, countless worldwide tours, and a reputation for delivering heartfelt, high-energy punk anthems that stand the test of time.

Fire Sale, a powerhouse lineup featuring former members of Face to Face, No Use For A Name, and The Ataris, has quickly carved its own path with a series of acclaimed 7″ releases, energetic live shows across Europe, Canada, and the U.S., and heavy rotation on SiriusXM Faction Punk. Split Personality marks their latest entry, pairing their relentless melodic hooks with Pulley’s classic skate-punk urgency for a must-have collector’s piece.

“Torn Apart By Time” – “As life passes by there are always distractions. Keep the commitment to how things started out and have the perseverance to stand with longevity. Make time to sit back and listen to the music.”
“Write A Note If You Leave” – “Everyone has experienced loss. This song was inspired by losing my mom but speaks to anyone who’s had to say goodbye to someone they love. I miss her, and I miss that hand-written, heartfelt communication.”
Fire Sale

“An Archaic Construct” – “The song questions the manufactured ways in which we are expected to behave.”

“Call Of The Void” – “It’s about acting on an intrusive thought-whether it’s driving into a light pole or ‘stumbling’ off a cliff in Cudahy.”

With multiple tracks already receiving early spins on SiriusXM Faction Punk, upcoming music videos premiering via BlankTV, and the combined legacy of two of punk rock’s most respected acts, Split Personality is set to be one of 2025’s essential punk vinyl releases.

Pre-order begins August 15, 2025 via Negative Progression Records here
