Vandelux Announces New Album CLOSER Out Oct 10, Shares “Swimming in the Dark” Featuring His Daughter’s Heartbeat

0

Multi-instrumentalist, producer, and vocalist Vandelux released his next single, “Swimming in the Dark,” and today announces his new LP, CLOSER, out on October 10, 2025.

The new track has the signature Vandelux beats with lyrics delving into maturity. Vandelux says, “Swimming in the Dark” is a track I wrote a day after we saw our daughter on the ultrasound for the first time. I sampled her heartbeat from the ultrasound doppler and worked it into the foundation of the song. This is probably the most important song of the album to me.. kinda represents a key transition point from previous life to current.”

The video feels like a fever dream where the protagonist is overwhelmed by a new phase of his life and almost drowns before realizing that he has to step up and take on a new persona as he moves into maturity.

With the release of this powerful song, Vandelux is releasing the full LP, CLOSER in October, an 11 song set that was produced and recorded by Vandelux in his San Francisco home studio and mixed/mastered by Mixing Engineer, Kyle Mangels and Mastering Engineer Kristian Montano in Toronto.

Songs include previously released singles, Best Of My Love (feat. Zak Abel), Last Train, I Want You and Swimming in the Dark.

The Vancouver-born vocalist, multi-instrumentalist, and producer a.k.a. Evan White utilizes music as a means to convey feeling and truth. His songs draw his innermost thoughts into the light. After gathering hundreds of millions of streams and performing to packed crowds worldwide, this emotionality underscores the artistry of this second full-length offering.

“I’m not a great communicator in general, so music is a pathway for me to get my feelings out,” he states. “The album is definitely an expression of how I’ve felt over the past couple of years. It’s authentic to who I am and what I want to sound like now.”

Vandelux will hit the road beginning on October 31 in San Francisco. He will traverse the US ending in Minneapolis with stops in Dallas, Austin, DC and Chicago among others (tour dates below). Extensive tour highlights, include high-profile festivals like Outside Lands and Bonnaroo,a US trek supporting KYGO, his annual “Ski Tour” and an opening slot supporting Elderbrook with a stop at the iconic Red Rocks amphitheater.

Vandelux, the alter-ego of Evan White, burst onto the production scene in 2016 with electrifying remixes that topped underground music charts. Vandelux’s track “Matter of Time,” from his debut album, When The Light Breaks, spent over nine weeks on the Billboard Dance Charts.

Vandelux’s story resonates with anyone who has longed to chase their passion. After years at a hedge fund, he felt called to pursue music. He told Words&Music, “Finance felt like a job, and music felt like meditation; it was a way to recharge, relax, and refresh. It was challenging some days to try and force yourself to be creative after work.”

In 2023, sold-out shows across the U.S. and Canada-and an ever-growing audience discovering his songs-ultimately emboldened him to commit fully to his craft. “I didn’t want to be 80 years old saying, ‘I wish I gave it a shot,'” he added, describing the pivotal moment that fueled his leap into music.

ELIZMA Unveils Debut Video “Modern Life” Filmed by Alessandro Gentile, Produced by Jeff Glixman, Mastered by Vlado Meller

0

Rising alt-pop artist ELIZMA just unveiled her debut music video, the urgent and soul-stirring “Modern Life”-the emotionally charged song doubles as both a plea and a prayer in the face of global crisis.

The American singer-songwriter is captured front and center with a cinematic, short-film style music video, filmed by award winning director Alessandro Gentile (Tim Burton Visionary Award). The guerilla-style video is set against recent scenes of chaos throughout Los Angeles: the wildfire-scarred hills in Altadena, the iconic 1st Street Bridge, ICE raids, and MacArthur Park.

The song and video mirror the themes of destruction, resilience, and human disconnection at the heart of “Modern Life.” ELIZMA watched from Louisiana, as the never-ending headlines of war, climate collapse, and political unrest rolled across her feed. Feeling completely saturated and anxious, she wrote “Modern Life” as a way to cope.

Blending atmospheric soundscapes with poignant, truth-driven lyricism, “Modern Life” explores themes of disconnection, injustice, and spiritual reckoning. The song was produced by Jeff Glixman (Kansas, Black Sabbath) and mastered by Grammy-nominated Vlado Meller (Metallica, Celine Dion), adding sonic depth to its already powerful message.

The track culminates in a striking final chorus, layered with haunting harmonies of “Ave Maria”-a last-minute addition inspired by a personal moment of prayer for immigrant mothers separated from their children. The chant, woven into the fabric of the song, transforms “Modern Life” from protest into prayer.

Rooted in raw vulnerability and resilience, ELIZMA’s genre-fluid style merges alt-pop, rock, and spiritual undertones. Her music reflects a journey through addiction, healing, and self-discovery-using art not just to entertain, but to awaken.

Shane Profitt’s “Long Live Country” Becomes Second Most-Added at Radio; Touring with Scotty McCreery, Darius Rucker & Jason Aldean

0

Triple Tigers Records recording artist, Shane Profitt, has the second most-added song at Country radio this week with his debut radio single with Triple Tigers Records, “Long Live Country,” with 49 new stations (55 stations historically). The anthemic track resonates with down-home lyrics celebrating the simple life, delivered in Profitt’s booming, soulful voice.

Written by Profitt, Matt Rogers and Lindsay Rimes, the autobiographical song shines a big spotlight on the singer’s small town and the beer-swiggin’, SEC game-watchin’, Jesus-lovin’ people who make it up. Profitt was born and raised in Columbia, Tennessee, where until recently he worked for the city mowing ditches. The self-proclaimed mama’s boy still lives in Columbia today, amongst the folks who inspired “Long Live Country.”

“Long Live Country” follows Profitt’s heartfelt “Penny to My Name,” which released in early 2025. The moving track serves as a reminder that money doesn’t buy happiness – it’s the memories you make with the ones you love.

Be sure to catch Profitt out on the road this year playing music festivals and select tour stops with Scotty McCreery, Darius Rucker and Jason Aldean.

Candice Ivory to Release ‘New Southern Vintage’ With Khari Wynn, Jimmy “Duck” Holmes, Ben Levin & More on Sept 12

0

Grammy-nominated rising star blues/soul singer Candice Ivory, who’s been wowing audiences around the world with her dynamic approach to the blues music genre, brings that force to bear on her latest album, New Southern Vintage. Dubbed “The Queen of Avant Soul,” Ivory’s latest is set for release by Nola Blue Records on September 12th, with distribution by MVD Distribution.

Preorders will begin on August 8 with the release of “Catfish Blues,” the album’s first single. The full album will be released on all digital platforms on August 29.

“Today, blues is a global music, known and cherished by people all over the world,” writes Candice Ivory in the album’s liner notes. “But its roots are in the American South – in places like Memphis and Mississippi, where I first met the blues, and in nearby outposts like St. Louis, where I now live. New Southern Vintage pays homage to this iconic Southern folk form as well as the heroines and heroes who created it, including my greatest inspirations: blueswoman Memphis Minnie (“World of Trouble,” “Shout the Boogie”) and my own great-uncle Will Roy Sanders (“I’m in Trouble”), who fronted the Fieldstones, the best Memphis blues band of the 1970s and 1980s. The album also features several living legends, from Jimmy “Duck” Holmes (caretaker of the Bentonia, Mississippi school of blues guitar) to folk-blues eminences grises David Evans and Andrew Cohen. And because blues is an ancient-to-the-future music – vintage and new – I invited a number of brilliant younger artists to join me on New Southern Vintage. My longtime collaborator Robert Allen Parker, Public Enemy’s Khari Wynn, and the other members of my Memphis-based band the Blue Bloods appear on several tracks, as do Ben Levin, Damian “Yella P” Pearson, and Chris Stephenson. There are also some special international guests – Jan Hartmann, Antonio Vergara, Takuto Asano, and Yubu Kazungu – who hail from around the globe and nonetheless fit right into the Southern sounds of New Southern Vintage, showing that no matter how far we travel down the blues highway, we can always go back home to the land where the blues began.”

“Musically, visually and intellectually, Candice Ivory wields a trifecta of creativity that is powerfully unique and broad. From the ‘blue blood in her veins’ to the primal, hypnotic ‘Catfish Blues’ and all points in between, she has woven a magnificently textured musical expression of the rich roots of the South,” says Sallie Bengtson, Nola Blue Records president. “After many discussions over the past year about the ‘new southern vintage’ concept and its fresh perspective on Black Culture in the American South, it echoed in familiarity for me as I experienced the new box office hit, Sinners. Performed by a world class, multi-generational group of musicians, the music of New Southern Vintage stands solidly unique and powerfully poised to become a comparable major hit in the music world.”

Ivory’s last album, When the Levee Breaks: The Music of Memphis Minnie, drew universal acclaim in its reviews, such as from Bill Bentley, who wrote in Americana Highways, “Because Candice Ivory takes these songs so deep into her vast spirit that in many ways they become her own… [Her] voice comes from another place, one where time doesn’t exist and the overwhelming depth of her singing feels like it has been here forever. This is a woman who has arrived to tell her truth, and there will be no debating that it belongs here now.”

Candice Ivory’s bold style is also being honored by the Jus’ Blues Foundation in July with the Millie Jackson Classy & Sassy Award.

Sums up Candice Ivory, “To those who go on this blues journey with me, I thank you. I also thank everyone who participated in the making of the album. For me, New Southern Vintage is not just music – it’s a way of life, and I gratefully acknowledge all my fans who allow me to share this music-life with them.”

Exile Celebrates Emmy Win for ’60 Years of Music Doc,’ Featuring Sonny LeMaire, JP Pennington, Marlon Hargis, Steve Goetzman & Les Taylor

The Emmy, considered one of the highest honors in television, and Exile are proud to be on the receiving end of a documentary that covers more than six decades of their career. Exile: 60 Years of Music, produced by KET (The Kentucky Network) captured defining moments of the band’s legacy during triumph and tragedy, musical peaks and valleys, and, most importantly, creativity and survival. Through it all, the band stayed true to themselves, their music, and their loyal audience.

Through rare photographs, home movies filmed over 50 years ago, and rarely seen archival musical footage, this documentary chronicles 60 years on the road with true American country rock legends and Kentucky Music Hall of Fame inductees Exile, featuring original members Sonny LeMaire, JP Pennington, Marlon Hargis, Steve Goetzman, and Les Taylor.

Exile shared, “As a band now in our 62nd year of music and friendship, we’ve achieved more than we ever imagined as kids. From unforgettable TV moments on The Midnight Special, Solid Gold, and The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson, to so many others, we’ve been blessed with a remarkable journey. But our documentary has given us center stage like never before. While we’ve seen many dreams come true, we never imagined an Emmy. We tip our hats to KET and producer/director Tom Thurman for bringing this honor home. We’re proud of our Kentucky roots and deeply grateful to be the subject of an Emmy-winning collaboration with our fellow Kentuckians.”

KET Producer/Director Tom Thurman added, “As the director of this documentary, I knew that it would be a real challenge covering Exile’s 60 years of history. But these men are not only talented musicians and songwriters; they are great storytellers as well. And maybe even more importantly, they are survivors thriving in a very tough business. That’s a filmmaker’s dream right there.”

The band’s release, Exile HITS Anniversary Edition, a remixed and remastered collection of 15 timeless hit songs, showcasing eleven No.1 songs, is now available in immersive Dolby Atmos sound.

The Exile HITS Anniversary Edition offers an enhanced listening experience. It features surround sound technology that allows audio elements to be placed in a 3D space, delivering a more realistic and dynamic experience for fans and content creators alike.

Released on Clearwater Records, Exile HITS Anniversary Edition celebrates the band’s incredible musical journey and their 62nd anniversary. Exile continues to captivate audiences worldwide with a career marked by chart-topping hits and unforgettable performances featuring their stellar musicianship and signature soulful harmonies.

Early reviews for Breakthrough have been overwhelmingly positive, with critics praising both its artistic range and emotional depth. Premier Guitar featured Bonamassa on its cover and called Breakthrough a “full-hearted essay in expressive playing and singing,” noting the album’s balance between “hard-edged, riff-driven” rock and “classic soul-pop.” Blues Rock Review awarded it 9.5/10 stars, calling it “an amazing record that promises to become a classic” and highlighting its “immaculate collection of timeless music.” Cryptic Rock called it “a decisive, intentional, forward-looking statement” and praised its “richly diverse sound.” At the same time, Rock and Blues Muse hailed it as “another keeper” and “one of Bonamassa’s finest.”
